We really, really wanted to experience this place! We had our hostess take our picture upon walking in and we got seated outside. IMMEDIATELY were brought over the table chips and salsa. We waited for 13 minutes and we got up and left. NO ONE came to wait on us. There was a server that knew we were there along with the couple that was sat right before us as that server was closing out her table at the other end of the patio. It was our anniversary. June 25th. We left cash on the table as my husband did eat the chips and salsa but we left, very disappointed. Restaurant decor is gorgeous. Outside seating was extremely nice. Service...not at all.
A cute place for a cocktail or elevated Mexican food. I wouldn't recommend for a large group as it was really hard to hold a conversation over the loud music. I do wish the menu was clearer on which items are Gluten Free and think that the staff didn't seem too knowledgeable on what could be available. I ended up getting the Enchiladas Doña Carmen which came with one of each of these fillings: barbacoa, ground beef, chicken, and cheese. The flavor was excellent! I would definitely order again.
This a pretty positive experience for the most part. My only complaint was that the service was a bit slow and they weren't very busy. I would see the waitress constantly at the bar chopping it up with the bartender more than tend to our table. Now that is out the way, the place has a great ambience. Very aesthetically pleasing!! We were able to park right across the street on the back side of tje restaurant. I like the chips and salsa that come out. It's actually con tortillas that are super crispy (I lived these) and a refried bean dip and salsa. We both had a margarita that wasn't very strong but good. We had the steak meal and the fried red snapper. The steak was well seasoned and tasted very good!! The red snapper was fried to perfection but needed some salt. I didn't taste any favor. Overall it was a positive experience. I would come back.
Beautiful, stunning restaurant. Doesn't feel like you're in Indiana. Came to check out happy hour. They also have a brunch/lunch menu. We got drinks and apps from the happy hour menu. My espresso martini was great! The margarita was huge and on the happy hour menu. Not too much to choose from for food, so keep that in mind if you're planning on sticking to that. Our server was phenomenal. She checked on us periodically and brought chips and dips as needed. We never felt rushed to leave.
I love the vibes in this restaurant! Beautiful decor and ambiance that they've created here. I arrived a little late to a birthday dinner for my cousin, so I didn't catch the name of our server, but she was amazing. She took care of our party of 10 calmly, effortlessly, and gracefully. I mentioned to her that it was my cousin's birthday and she said "say less"! I loved her energy. I enjoyed the unique offering of the complimentary salsa, tortillas, and bean dip. I ordered a Paloma because that's what the birthday girl was drinking. I'm not sure how they're made it or what the ingredients are, but it read like a margarita. A less flavorful margarita. I wasn't really a fan. When it came to the entrees, I went with the Baja Fish Tacos. Two out of ten of us did. I didn't really enjoy mine. The fish wasn't crispy enough. The rice and beans were good. My daughter said hers were crispy and she loved them. My uncle ordered enchiladas, but didn't really like them. The general consensus of the table seemed to be that "the meats" were top-tier. The guests that ordered steaks or the lamb chops enjoyed their dishes the most. I tasted my cousin's steak and it was very tender and flavorful on its own. No sauce or anything. Just meat. If I were to return, I'd go that route. My husband bodied his lamb chops and they looked really good. I broke my own rule. If you go to a steakhouse, Mexican or otherwise, order a steak!
First. This place is SO cute in a modern but whimsy way. The inside was like a party with the music going but you could still have a conversation. The bathrooms were cute and smelled great. Note: there are two stalls and one sink. We sat on the outside patio in front to enjoy the beautiful day! It was a bit warm...ya girl was THIRSTY, the water cups are on the smaller side... so our server Sage gave us a full pitcher they were so amazing the entire time. They give you chips and salsa automatically that salsa was divine. Wish they sold it in a bottle. We had the roasted cauliflower which was DELICIOUS and very sure to grab the sauce in the side of the dish and thank me later. We also had ceviche for an appetizer and there were nice sized chunks of Ahi tuna along with shrimp avocado and pico. Y'all both appetizers just disappeared! So delightful. We had sangria and was lovely, skinny margarita was fire and I had the Mezcal old fashioned.. and I had two. That was one of the top ever!! This place was so wonderful we're already planning to go back next time I return to Indy. We're hoping Sage is there because the level of service was top tier and they were so cool to talk to. Just go. You'll be utterly satisfied

What we ordered was pretty good, not mind blowing Ceviche is a bit too lemony; portion and presentation is nice 7.5/10 I like my drink mango mezcal cocktail (mango was light but is fresh mango tasting and not syrupy) not spicy, even though server gave a warning 8/10 Wagyu tomahawk steak 8.5/10 cooked a little more than medium rare, veggies were still crisp and good
I love love loved my food, the ambiance, the service, the decor, literally everything minus downtown parking .... Luckily since it was snowing I was able to park in front but some of my family had to drive around to find spots. This isn't on the restaurant, this is a common thread for mass Ave locations. One thing I want to make mention of, I covet the stoneware that was used to serve everything down to sauces. We ate in the private dining area that I seats 10 on the main floor. My stepmom felt like a queen for her bday & rightfully so. So super cute that for birthdays they offer a cupcake OR a shot. My stepmom chose the shot and it was served in a champ glass with a lime and on a small wooden board with a salt heart that they lit on fire for us to sing happy bday! I ordered the quesobirria tacos, the oysters Rockefeller & ceviche... I was wow'd. Lamb was cooked perfectly in the tacos! The ceviche had the freshest ingredients and I'm typically not a fan of tuna but mmm mm ... THIS was fire! When I return, I'll be ordering two orders of the oysters & plan on eating both
Seafood galore!!! Started with crispy calamari and ceviche. Thr former's batter is well flavored, didn't need sauce to enjoy it. And the latter, is how ceviche should be. Lots of fish chunks and is very well marinated. Main courses were Preida lobster mac: Flavor was good but the lobsters size was small relative to price. The Grilled Octopus was rrally well and evenly cooked. Texture was soft throughout, even on the thicker part of the meat This was a good one. And lastly, the Pescado frito. Man, the whole fish was huge. The sauce that was recommended was Salsa ala diabla was really great. It's spicy but not hot spicy, mildly opens up yoir nostril but then it doesn't anymore so it's not overwhelming the more you dip in. Ended the night with chocoflan. It's good, not strong in sweet so it made it enjoyable. Service waa great and not intrusive at the bar area, which was well lit. Place was packed on a Tue night. They have papertowels in the restroom. No outdoor seating. Will gladly return to this place.
So beautiful!!! Like vibe is 100% vibbing! Came here for a birthday party that had about 25 women. I wish they had a community table they could pull out for larger parties. They do have a round table that fits about 15. Food... the red snapper is superb like amazing and huge. I had the steak fajitas...it was ok. The meat was ok ..I would go back but try something new.
Authentic Latin vibes in the bottle works district! Beautiful interior, amazing food, and top notch service. Gets very busy on a Saturday night but worth the wait (make a reservation) Pro Tip: DJ spinning great music on the weekend elevates the experience!
Piedra is a beautiful Mexican Steakhouse located right on Mass Ave. The parking is very limited, so be sure to leave out early or you may be late for your reservations. They offer $20 valet parking as well. Upon walking in, I was greeted by about 4 other groups that were waiting to be seated. Our reservations were at 8:15 pm and we were seated until close to 9 pm. When we were seated, we were placed by a window, and every time someone opened the door, we felt a huge draft. We asked if there was anything available to warm the area and was told no. They told us we could move, but since there weren't any tables available, we'd have to wait for another table to get up to leave. Being that we had already wat almost 45 mins to be seated and another 10+ mins to get water, we decided to weather the storm. Our waitress was truly nice and bubbly, and she was attentive. I chose to participate in the devour menu and get the oysters rockefella, ribeye and tres leches for dessert. The oysters were cleaned very well, but even wth the addition of cheese toppings, still lacked flavor. The steak was delicious and had flavor. The potatoes served with it lacked salt, but were good. I didn't really care for the cake. The leches didn't have an additional flavor to it, s it was semi bland. I was offered to change t but fr something different, but I chose my to. I tried a expresso martini as well, and it was very delicious. I'd definitely come back for that alone! Piedra had a DJ that night and it was giving Chicago rooftop vibes...IYKYK. We were given a dessert coupon for our wait. Overall, the ambience is amazing. The food is decent, but the wait time to be seated needs to be improved. This restaurant s still somewhat new, so hopefully they will make the tweaks to make that better.
Ouch. It hurts to give three stars. First off, it is absolutely stunning inside this place. From the moment you walk in! Kudos to them for that. There were two of us, and we were seated on the back half of one of the columns at a two top table. They have cute purse and coat stands to hang your things (specifically for your table) next to your table. + Every table gets salsa, as well as a bean dip with fried tortillas instead of chips. Unfortunately, our tortillas were stale with a burnt taste to them. Our server actually tried a piece at our table - we were shocked to see her do this haha. + We ordered queso with chips, and sadly the chips were overly fried, and were drenched in grease. + The arroz con pollo was different. The chicken was good, but the rice seemed over cooked, and had an interesting taste to it. I can't really put my finger on it but it seemed very different than the flavors of the classic dish. 6.5 /10 + We also tried to Wagyu burger. The burger + fries were good, however the burger came on a burn that appears burnt, but were told is something called a charcoal bun. Visually not the most appealing, but the burger itself was pretty good. 7/10 I'll likely give it another try around spring/summer! Great spot for drinks.

To begin the customer service from beginning to end was stellar. The food (please see pics) was delicious and well presented. The ambiance was peaceful and serene. We opted to sit outside because it was a beautiful night. I can't wait to return. The DJ!!! Let's get into her!!!! She had us rocking in our seats!!!!! she was jamming!! Came here for my birthday - group of 5 Our server was great! She came around and got our orders put in timely. I only wish they had a canister of water they could leave at tables since we went without for a bit too long btw refills but otherwise there were no complaints. We started off with Ceviche de Pescado and Coliflor Asada for apps. ---Ceviche was so fresh! I could have eaten that all night long by itself! Fresh yellow fin tuna marinated in their famous leche de tigre, paired with a fresh garden medley of cucumber, avocado, red onion, and pico de gallo. ---Coliflor was also not a bad choice. I'm already a huge fan of the vegetable but this one was seasoned nicely. My only suggestion was I wish it was a little crispier. It sort of deteriorated when you went to cut it up. Cauliflower marinated in guajillo chile, fire-grilled for a smoky flavor, and finished with salsa macha and chipotle aioli. Garnished with fresh herbs. For drinks: house marg, jalapeño marg, mojito marg, mezcal old fashioned, Topacio Imperial I got the jalapeño marg with sugar rim and thought it was a little light on the "kick" but it was refreshing and nice, had 2 lol Main dishes: Carne Asada, Molcajete, Lamb Chops, and two orders of Enchiladas Doña Carmen Everyone enjoyed their food. I was one of the enchiladas people. My favorite was the chicken and then barbacoa one. It comes 4 enchiladas: barbacoa, ground beef, chicken, and cheese. At first I was sad it didn't come with rice or beans but after the drinks and apps and enchiladas, I was pretty full! Dessert: Churros and clearly the Pastel de colores (Celebration Cake) ---- and a birthday shot that came in a Champaign flute Atmosphere: an eclectic mix with variety of tables. We got a nice half circular booth by the bar area. The music was good, but just a tinge loud for trying to converse. I don't mind music but it semi clashes with the price point here I would def come back and try more dishes though! read more

This restaurant is beautiful! It's a must try if you haven't been yet. The filet mignon and vegetables were nicely seasoned, and they have a pretty decent expresso martini. I was a little disappointed in the service. I had a reservation for 8:15 and wasn't seated until almost 9 and we didn't get our food until about 10. This doesn't speak to how well our waitress treated us though. She was very nice and helpful. I do understand that they are a very popular restaurant right now, so they are very busy! Overall, I did have a pretty good experience and would like to come again when they're not so busy. read more
I visited Piedra with five other people for a little date night. The vibes in the building were definitely there. The entire restaurant had a cool lounge like atmosphere. There were many different types of seating arrangements (couches, arm chairs, barstools). The decorations were beautiful and the entire place felt like it belonged in a bigger city than Indy. I was very excited to try the food because I love Mexican food. I wasn't totally impressed with the level of authenticity or flavor. We ordered chips and queso and chips and guacamole. The queso had pretty good flavor but the chips seemed to be very oily. They had a great flavor just would have liked a little less oil. For dinner I ordered the chicken tinga tacos. They didn't wow me but they weren't bad. I tried a friend's baja tacos and had the same sentiment. The item that really stole the show was the Taquitos con Guaca. They were so tasted and I wished I had ordered that for my meal! I felt like we didn't receive much attention from our server and had to prompt her to take our orders, refill our drinks, and provide us with the checks. She was very kind and knowledgeable just wasn't keeping up with the needs of our table. I am definitely willing to give them another shot because they were fairly new when I visited. read more
4 of us went for dinner on a Thursday, after wanting to try for a while. Food was excellent and vibes were great. The ambiance is what makes this restaurant. It is absolutely beautiful and the bar is immaculate. We sat upstairs for dinner and were thoroughly impressed. A little pricey, but can't complain because all of the food was excellent. Not pictured here, but my favorite drink was the Agata. Drinks and restaurant itself were the stars of the show. Will be back. read more
Vibes here were immaculate. I came to Piedra with a girlfriend and we were not disappointed. The ambiance of the place was so nice and the staff was very attentive to our needs. The minute we walked in we were quickly greeted and seated at our table. Our waiter was very kind and gave us the time to look over the menu as we decided on the ceviche for the table and the ribeye tacos. Both dishes were tasty and fresh! Best drink of the night was the Strawberry Margarita. Overall great experience and will definitely be back to try more items off the menu! I went during the lunch hour. It was a huge difference from the dinner time vibe/atmosphere. The waiter was very gracious, friendly and helpful with the items. I tried to Baja tacos had a side of refried beans and rice. The Baja tacos were okay. I think they would've been a bit better with more sauce. All in all, the aesthetics of the restaurant is very beautiful. To be immersed in the full experience, I'll have to go back and try them out during dinner time. read more
We came to Piedra for Mother's Day and were lucky enough to be seated right away. We did not have a reservation, but arrived before a rush and were able to take a spot before a reservation came in, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation if you plan to visit. I believe the bar is open seating. Piedra is gorgeous inside. The high ceilings make the space feel huge, and you can immediately tell you're in for a more elevated dining experience. It's almost easy to miss as you head toward The Garage on N College Ave, but the interior is stunning once you walk in. For drinks, I ordered the piña colada while my mom tried the frozen house margarita. The piña colada was good, but honestly, I wish I had gone with the house margarita instead. It was really well balanced. Not too sweet or too strong. The portion size was huge for the same price. For food, I had the taquitos as my main dish. They were tasty and came with plenty of guac, though I will say the portion is on the smaller side. It's probably best as something to share between 2-3 people if you're with a larger group. I also tried the pozole verde, which was super flavorful, and my mom really enjoyed it. The portion size was massive and there was plenty left to take home. My brother went with his usual Arroz con Pollo pick and said it was very good compared to other places. Overall, Piedra is a great spot if you're looking for more of an experience. Just keep in mind that it leans toward elevated Mexican cuisine, so the menu is on the pricier side. I'd definitely come back again, especially to hang out at the bar. read more

We've been waiting to dine at Piedra. We decided to go for my birthday. As all of the other reviews have mentioned, the restaurant is STUNNING! We started with drinks at the bar. The sangria was very good but a bit sweet for me. The Ágata (From the menu: Bold and revolutionary taste, bourbon, amaretto, lime.) was perfect! We had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and topped a bed of mashed potatoes with a side of broccoli. It was all so good. No leftovers here . The fajitas had a nice blend of seasonings complimenting each meat. The accompanying sides were super small, but still very good. Since it was my birthday, I was able to select a shot or a dessert. I opted for dessert, but unfortunately it never came. I was really wanting to try the churros, but waiting 20 - 25 minutes for them to come was not doable. The ambiance is very nice. The picture tell the entire story! Overall, I would recommend a visit here. read more
Excellent dinner downtown. It's conveniently located near the old national theater, easy to get to a show after you've had dinner. The decor was beautiful inside. It's a upscale Mexican restaurant, with professional service. The food was delicious. We had Carne Asada and Arroz con Polo split two dishes between three people and still had plenty of leftovers to take home. They had an interesting spin on their chips and dip. They offered whole corn tortillas with a bean dip and a tomato dip, but not a salsa. It was all very good and I look forward to being able to try it again. read more
I was blown away by how trendy this place looks, almost like you're in downtown Los Angeles. A DJ? The energy here was on fire, and the center bar ends up making this place a show stopper for sure. I don't like to knock restaurants too much and honestly in the first 15 minutes being here I was excited to share a 5 star review however there were issues that I have to point out and hopefully next time things will be better. Being seated at a Mexican restaurant like this without a drink menu to start with feels wrong. I ended up requesting one and I really enjoyed the Mojito Margarita so much I ordered another margarita of course. I ate my entire meal in the time I was waiting for my second margarita, so it ended up being dessert unfortunately. Our server was wonderful and kept us updated during lulls in service. Everything I had was great, I highly recommend the ceviche. The menu is straight forward but you can go full streakhouse, or stick with Mexican classics. I will certainly be back to try their pozole. read more
Stepped into this amazingly beautiful venue and explored once we got our orders placed. It's a nice spot for groups and parties with the upstairs access. My brunch was just ok. Didn't come for the brunch but thought I'd try. The avocado toast need more flavor. Definitely recommend dinner because we love Verde. The mimosa flight was good. I have to say, Piedra totally exceeded my expectations! The vibe is so inviting -- cozy but still full of energy -- and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. You can just tell they care about what they're doing. The food? Unreal. Everything tasted super fresh and full of flavor. The guac was perfection, and don't even get me started on the margaritas -- probably the best I've had in a long time (just the right balance of tart and sweet). It's one of those spots where you leave already talking about what you're going to order next time. I'm definitely adding this to my regular rotation -- if you haven't been, you're seriously missing out. read more
Food and Drink: delicious and aesthetic. I loved the baked oysters, the calamari dipping sauces, and my mezcal cocktails. My enchiladas were delicious, and I appreciated the variety of flavors. The appetizers came out at a variety of temperatures (cold, warm, and hot) but the rest of the food came out hot. Ambiance: Very demure, high-end feel. I didn't feel like I was in Indy. Loved the variety of seating (tables, booths, bar area, upstairs area). I liked the DJ but it did make the volume a bit loud so I appreciated it. Perfect for a girl's night! Service: Very good, top tier service from my server. Attentive, pretty knowledgeable, very personable. I was less impressed with the lack of hospitality and service by the hostess stand up front. read more

The restaurant is really beautiful, and we loved the taquito appetizer. However I felt my tacos lacked flavor and my margarita was primarily mix. I think everything is really beautiful; decor, plating, etc. but overall was disappointed by the blandness in the end. Also, the music is insanely loud. I asked about lowering it and our waiter just laughed it off - he probably couldn't hear me It felt like a club and it was early evening. read more

Truly amazing dining experience! Located 10 minutes from downtown Indianapolis, this is an upscale Mexican cuisine. They feature several drinks and menu options that include flames, which adds showmanship to the presentation. Molcajete skirt steak, bone in chicken, shrimps, bacon, stuffed jalapeños, served in a stone bowl over flames incredible portions for $43! They also feature margaritas drink which is served in an actual pineapple with a flaming side of salt! Upscale tequila shots are served with lime and lemon slices with flaming salt! I highly recommend their savory bone marrow, ribeye tacos! Save room for dessert! The celebration cake was multi colored and loved their deep fried ice cream! read more

I know this is a new restaurant, so I'll be fair and say my experience was overall neutral. I really enjoyed the chips and salsa they brought out, and the queso was also solid. The taquitos appetizer was my favorite by far. The Rockefeller-style oysters, however, had way too much cheese -- it completely overpowered the oysters. If you love cheese, you might enjoy them, but if you're looking to actually taste the oysters, you'll be disappointed. The ceviche was pretty standard -- not great, not bad. I ordered the barbacoa tacos, which were also fairly standard but tasty enough that I'd order them again. I've included photos of my friends' meals as well -- everyone ate plenty and left full, though no one was particularly impressed. The service was on the slow side and required a fair amount of clarification and re-stating of orders to get things right. It's a new spot, so I imagine that will improve over time. My biggest issue -- and the main reason I may not return -- is the ventilation. The entire restaurant was so smoky that it felt like sitting in a cigar lounge. Of course, it was all from the kitchen, not actual smoking, but it made for an uncomfortable dining experience. read more
Okay so it was a MUST to try out this new and super cute restaurant. My girl and I decided to go before the Brandy & Monica concert. Upon entering I didn't receive the warmest welcome. Hopefully that improves as I waited I noticed that to be a norm. Big smiles from the young lady that sat guests however. We had to sit at the bar due to no reso and it being packed. We were both okay with that but looking forward to a table service next time. Frieda! That's all I have to say. She was attentive, made some great suggestions and had some nice humor to her. Edwin was also another server that assisted us and he was considerate and attentive as well. I ordered the Verde Barrell marg=DELICIOUS! For my main dish I ordered the beef carpaccio and my friend got the arroz pollo. My carpaccio was delicious. I personally could have used more lemon in the arugula. My friend enjoyed her dish. Overall, I'd give them 9/10. HIGHLY recommend. I even got a chance to speak with one of the managers/owners Pablo to brag a little about Frieda & Edwin. I will be back. read more
We stopped by Piedra, the new Mexican spot in Bottleworks, and absolutely loved it! We sat at the bar and had really great service. The bartenders were very friendly and welcoming, and even made off-menu drinks for us based on what we liked. My tequila sour was perfect and one of the best I've had in a while. They brought out a complimentary little starter with salsa, bean dip, and crisped corn tortillas with tajín. It was a creative touch, though I kind of wished it was regular chips. We shared the steak fajitas and they were very tasty. The steak was tender and flavorful, came with rice and refried beans, and the guacamole was delicious (really limey!). It came out sizzling! The space is beautiful but a little over the top, with lots of fake plants and big statues. Even so, it adds to the energy and excitement of the restaurant. It was packed when we went and the wait was 2 hours, but we got a spot at the bar so we didn't have to wait the whole time. My only small note is that there weren't any purse hooks under the bar. Otherwise, I can't wait to go back! read more

We held a birthday dinner there for a party of 10. The vibes were amazing the servers were very pleasant. I ordered the ribeye tacos that came with bone marrow,rice, beans and a jalapeño margarita. The margarita was perfectly made. The tacos were delicious but I would say the rice was under cooked. I had to ask the server for a new plate of rice. The second batch was hard as well. But overall it was a beautiful atmosphere and the service was great. I would return !!! read more

First visit and we loved it. A bit of a shock that they were out of coffee for Sunday brunch but they had espresso martinis so all was good. Our server was very nice and gave good suggestions.
