Wagyu tomahawk

The vibe is pretty upbeat and elevated. I really enjoyed the overall setup. What we ordered was pretty good, not mind blowing Ceviche is a bit too lemony; portion and presentation is nice 7.5/10 I like my drink mango mezcal cocktail (mango was light but is fresh mango tasting and not syrupy) not spicy, even though server gave a warning 8/10 Wagyu tomahawk steak 8.5/10 cooked a little more than medium rare, veggies were still crisp and good

Excellent dinner downtown. It's conveniently located near the old national theater, easy to get to a show after you've had dinner. The decor was beautiful inside. It's a upscale Mexican restaurant, with professional service. The food was delicious. We had Carne Asada and Arroz con Polo split two dishes between three people and still had plenty of leftovers to take home. They had an interesting spin on their chips and dip. They offered whole corn tortillas with a bean dip and a tomato dip, but not a salsa. It was all very good and I look forward to being able to try it again.

I love love loved my food, the ambiance, the service, the decor, literally everything minus downtown parking .... Luckily since it was snowing I was able to park in front but some of my family had to drive around to find spots. This isn't on the restaurant, this is a common thread for mass Ave locations. One thing I want to make mention of, I covet the stoneware that was used to serve everything down to sauces. We ate in the private dining area that I seats 10 on the main floor. My stepmom felt like a queen for her bday & rightfully so. So super cute that for birthdays they offer a cupcake OR a shot. My stepmom chose the shot and it was served in a champ glass with a lime and on a small wooden board with a salt heart that they lit on fire for us to sing happy bday! I ordered the quesobirria tacos, the oysters Rockefeller & ceviche... I was wow'd. Lamb was cooked perfectly in the tacos! The ceviche had the freshest ingredients and I'm typically not a fan of tuna but mmm mm ... THIS was fire! When I return, I'll be ordering two orders of the oysters & plan on eating both

Seafood galore!!! Started with crispy calamari and ceviche. Thr former's batter is well flavored, didn't need sauce to enjoy it. And the latter, is how ceviche should be. Lots of fish chunks and is very well marinated. Main courses were Preida lobster mac: Flavor was good but the lobsters size was small relative to price. The Grilled Octopus was rrally well and evenly cooked. Texture was soft throughout, even on the thicker part of the meat This was a good one. And lastly, the Pescado frito. Man, the whole fish was huge. The sauce that was recommended was Salsa ala diabla was really great. It's spicy but not hot spicy, mildly opens up yoir nostril but then it doesn't anymore so it's not overwhelming the more you dip in. Ended the night with chocoflan. It's good, not strong in sweet so it made it enjoyable. Service waa great and not intrusive at the bar area, which was well lit. Place was packed on a Tue night. They have papertowels in the restroom. No outdoor seating. Will gladly return to this place.

Authentic Latin vibes in the bottle works district! Beautiful interior, amazing food, and top notch service. Gets very busy on a Saturday night but worth the wait (make a reservation) Pro Tip: DJ spinning great music on the weekend elevates the experience!

Piedra is a beautiful Mexican Steakhouse located right on Mass Ave. The parking is very limited, so be sure to leave out early or you may be late for your reservations. They offer $20 valet parking as well. Upon walking in, I was greeted by about 4 other groups that were waiting to be seated. Our reservations were at 8:15 pm and we were seated until close to 9 pm. When we were seated, we were placed by a window, and every time someone opened the door, we felt a huge draft. We asked if there was anything available to warm the area and was told no. They told us we could move, but since there weren't any tables available, we'd have to wait for another table to get up to leave. Being that we had already wat almost 45 mins to be seated and another 10+ mins to get water, we decided to weather the storm. Our waitress was truly nice and bubbly, and she was attentive. I chose to participate in the devour menu and get the oysters rockefella, ribeye and tres leches for dessert. The oysters were cleaned very well, but even wth the addition of cheese toppings, still lacked flavor. The steak was delicious and had flavor. The potatoes served with it lacked salt, but were good. I didn't really care for the cake. The leches didn't have an additional flavor to it, s it was semi bland. I was offered to change t but fr something different, but I chose my to. I tried a expresso martini as well, and it was very delicious. I'd definitely come back for that alone! Piedra had a DJ that night and it was giving Chicago rooftop vibes...IYKYK. We were given a dessert coupon for our wait. Overall, the ambience is amazing. The food is decent, but the wait time to be seated needs to be improved. This restaurant s still somewhat new, so hopefully they will make the tweaks to make that better.

So beautiful!!! Like vibe is 100% vibbing! Came here for a birthday party that had about 25 women. I wish they had a community table they could pull out for larger parties. They do have a round table that fits about 15. Food... the red snapper is superb like amazing and huge. I had the steak fajitas...it was ok. The meat was ok ..I would go back but try something new.

Pastel de colores (Celebration Cake)

Came here for my birthday - group of 5 Our server was great! She came around and got our orders put in timely. I only wish they had a canister of water they could leave at tables since we went without for a bit too long btw refills but otherwise there were no complaints. We started off with Ceviche de Pescado and Coliflor Asada for apps. ---Ceviche was so fresh! I could have eaten that all night long by itself! Fresh yellow fin tuna marinated in their famous leche de tigre, paired with a fresh garden medley of cucumber, avocado, red onion, and pico de gallo. ---Coliflor was also not a bad choice. I'm already a huge fan of the vegetable but this one was seasoned nicely. My only suggestion was I wish it was a little crispier. It sort of deteriorated when you went to cut it up. Cauliflower marinated in guajillo chile, fire-grilled for a smoky flavor, and finished with salsa macha and chipotle aioli. Garnished with fresh herbs. For drinks: house marg, jalapeño marg, mojito marg, mezcal old fashioned, Topacio Imperial I got the jalapeño marg with sugar rim and thought it was a little light on the "kick" but it was refreshing and nice, had 2 lol Main dishes: Carne Asada, Molcajete, Lamb Chops, and two orders of Enchiladas Doña Carmen Everyone enjoyed their food. I was one of the enchiladas people. My favorite was the chicken and then barbacoa one. It comes 4 enchiladas: barbacoa, ground beef, chicken, and cheese. At first I was sad it didn't come with rice or beans but after the drinks and apps and enchiladas, I was pretty full! Dessert: Churros and clearly the Pastel de colores (Celebration Cake) ---- and a birthday shot that came in a Champaign flute Atmosphere: an eclectic mix with variety of tables. We got a nice half circular booth by the bar area. The music was good, but just a tinge loud for trying to converse. I don't mind music but it semi clashes with the price point here I would def come back and try more dishes though!

This restaurant is beautiful! It's a must try if you haven't been yet. The filet mignon and vegetables were nicely seasoned, and they have a pretty decent expresso martini. I was a little disappointed in the service. I had a reservation for 8:15 and wasn't seated until almost 9 and we didn't get our food until about 10. This doesn't speak to how well our waitress treated us though. She was very nice and helpful. I do understand that they are a very popular restaurant right now, so they are very busy! Overall, I did have a pretty good experience and would like to come again when they're not so busy.

Bone marrow ribeye tacos

Truly amazing dining experience! Located 10 minutes from downtown Indianapolis, this is an upscale Mexican cuisine. They feature several drinks and menu options that include flames, which adds showmanship to the presentation. Molcajete skirt steak, bone in chicken, shrimps, bacon, stuffed jalapeños, served in a stone bowl over flames incredible portions for $43! They also feature margaritas drink which is served in an actual pineapple with a flaming side of salt! Upscale tequila shots are served with lime and lemon slices with flaming salt! I highly recommend their savory bone marrow, ribeye tacos! Save room for dessert! The celebration cake was multi colored and loved their deep fried ice cream!

The Abandoned Station - Delicious specialty pizza

The Abandoned Station

Dope spot. The Google reviews are all about the beer, which is tremendous, but the pizza is great…read moretoo. I got a pepperoni and sausage pizza with hot honey and it was awesome. The pizza is kind of small though. It will fill two people or one person if you have portion control issues. They serve Narrow Gauge draft beer out of the St. Louis area and it is dynamite....a little pricey though. They had a barrel aged stout called Duality on draft and it was GREAT - one of the best beers that I've ever had and I don't usually like stouts. You can order cans or bottles of some of the beer to go. The bartender did an A+ job and she was delightful. I could have talked to her all day. There were five other people at the bar and all of these strangers just started talking to each other and becoming friends. It was pretty cool.

Good Pizza and Craft Beer at a Small Indianapolis Taproom…read more Across from Goose the Market at the corner of Delaware and 25th, this spot is one of those places you're happy you found and want to tell your friends about. The vibe is relaxed with music piped through, and a couple TVs in case you want to watch sports or a movie while sipping your beer. The food is legit, and the tap list delivers. Let's start with the pizza. They've got all the classics--cheese, pepperoni, sausage, veggie, BBQ chicken, buffalo--but the creative pies are where this place really shines. The brisket pizza with Alabama white sauce is interestingly good, and the pepperoni, basil, pesto, ricotta, hot honey pizza is next-level amazing. The house-made dough is dialed in and ties everything together beautifully. Pair that with a draft beer and you're set. The taproom regularly pours a good lineup from Narrow Gauge Brewing Company--IPAs, stouts, lagers, plus at least one fruity sour. Personal favorites include Atlantic (an English-style barleywine) and Galaphobia (milk stout), but you can't go wrong with a DDH IPA, Lining the Walls Hefeweizen, or the flagship OJ Run. Not in a pizza mood? The giant pub pretzels with beer cheese and mustard are perfect for sharing (or not ). Or grab an order of house-made breadsticks with garlic butter or homemade marinara for dipping. We've gone a few times and most recently during their Darkest Beer Days event. And it did not disappoint--an awesome way to celebrate the Winter Solstice with great dark beers and guest taps. I appreciate that they highlight not only Narrow Gauge, but also other Midwest breweries like Streetside Brewing, Butchertown Brewing, Maplewood Brewery & Distillery, and Transient Artisan Ales at this special event. Bonus points: the owner shared that they'll close the taproom for private group events, and if your crew likes pinball, there are a few machines to keep things fun between pours. Definitely worth considering! Fantastic food, great beer, creative events, and a nice atmosphere--this place is an absolute win. We'll keep coming back (and bringing friends) and hope to see this place do more events in the future.

The Fowling Warehouse Indianapolis - Tables and darts

The Fowling Warehouse Indianapolis

(69 reviews)

Recently visited Fowling Warehouse for a work team building event. I had no idea what to expect…read more Parking was a bit of a mystery. There was a sign in front of the business pointing you to turn down a steer for parking; next block there is a huge parking lot but no signs saying you can park there for fowling, BUT, it was abundantly marked that cars will be towed. Since there was nothing else around, I assumed it was the right place and parked. Of course I briskly walked to fowling to inquire if I was in the correct space. I was, whew. Those towers can really work fast. Fowling is in a warehouse with other businesses, hence the name. It is huge. We were on lane 32, I believe so there's at least 32 lanes. There is also a corn hole area. There is a bar where they have a decent variety of adult beverages. I went with 3 Floyd's warpig, a hazy ipa. It was really good. The important aspect of fowling is not eating or drinking there, but to interact with the people your with. Sure you can win a game, but the fun is the game itself and the camaraderie with a drink. Our leader looked up the rules prior and explained them. You take turns throwing a football at bowling pins, one set of pins on each end of the lane. There are two lines to throw from, our group guys threw from back and women from front. I watched a group next to us, both men and women threw from front line, it didn't appear to give anyone an advantage. I don't know if the pizza place is part of fowling or a separate business, but we got pizza from Bonk Pizza. It was ok, it was enough to say we were fed. I'm glad I did this and would go again.

Fowling (noun) fowl-ing: The hunting or trapping of wildfowl…read more Google "fowling definition" and this is what you'll find. Google simply "fowling" and you learn about this odd sport where you combine football and bowling. Just now. Right NOW as I'm writing this, the word fowling finally made (sort of) sense. Football + bowling = fowling. Now I'm even pronouncing the word different with a long "o" sound versus the "ou" diphthong. I had to Google that, too, but once I saw diphthong, I knew it was going in my review. You're welcome for the 5th grade grammar lesson. Please redeem your Pizza Hut personal pan pizza for your hard work. Ok, fowling. It has nothing to do with trapping birds or teaching birds of prey to land on your arm (that's falconry). Nope, it's a game you play with friends and beer. The setup is more like cornhole, but you use bowling pins and throw, that's right, a football. Someone was clearly drunk when this game was invented. But what a great way to bring a group of people together! The Fowling Warehouse specializes in the game of fowling, but has several other activities to enjoy as a group: pool, darts, a few arcade games and a golf simulator. I may go back just for the golf simulator. This is the real deal, a full Trackman set up. It was pretty sweet. Those simulators can be a little intimidating at the PGA Superstore, but it's tucked away in the corner at the Fowling Warehouse where you can shank balls and not feel like a fool. Mostly. There are also two bars and you can order pizza and boneless wings. The bar has a nice selection of beers on tap. They use the magnet cup system where the cup fills from the bottom. My favorite thing was seeing multiple signs on the bar that warn you that if you push the bottom of the cup, you will get wet! And I smiled devilishly thinking about curious people testing their luck with the cups and losing every time. For me, I enjoyed a couple glasses of this blood orange IPA. Delicious and refreshing. The Fowling Warehouse isn't exactly my jam, but I think it's the kind of place that is perfect for a certain crowd who enjoys games and likes a new challenge. And they can handle a large party! If you are looking to try a new sport that feels like it was invented by someone who lost a bet, this place is for you! I kid, but the Warehouse is nice and clean and large! The service was good and everyone seemed to have a great time. Seems like a pretty good spot for your next party if games are your thing! Please note: No birds were injured during the writing of this review.
