Food and Drink: Had Encanto Alebrije for dinner! I had the panela ribeye tacos, along with a strawberry margarita. The portion size was generous, and I also had sides of rice and beans. Overall, I loved my meal! The meat was tender and flavorful. The margarita was refreshing and well needed after a long day. Ambiance: Casual environment, come as you are with family or friends. I think this place would be great for lunch and dinner, or even date night! Unfortunately I was disappointed with how empty the place was. They definitely deserve more attention for the quality of food! There's also a bar and dance floor downstairs which I know would make a good night for friends' night out. Service: Due to the restaurant being a slow night (didn't know if that is usual), the waiters weren't easily seen or always available. I could probably count on one hand how many servers there were, but when they were attending to customers, they were engaged and happy to assist in any way. Decor: All around, this restaurant had A VIBE. Between the decor, wall art/paintings, seat quality and the downstairs area, I would definitely come back again. I would come back!

Encanto Alebrije is located downtown, with a few metered parking spots in front of the entrance if you're lucky, otherwise, a nearby parking garage is your best bet. I was excited walking in, especially hoping to see one of my favorite bartenders, Johnny, but was bummed to learn he's no longer working here when I asked. We were seated quickly, and despite the restaurant being a very large space, it was surprisingly empty the entire evening. Rolando was our server, and he was polite and attentive throughout the meal. During our visit, they were preparing to host an R&B night downstairs, and you could clearly hear that music while different music was also playing upstairs. The blending of genres took away from the overall ambience and made it hard to enjoy a relaxed dinner experience. For cocktails, we ordered the Flor de Jamaica and a frozen strawberry margarita, both were good and refreshing. The chorizo dip was the standout of the night, absolutely delicious, and the salsa definitely had a spicy kick. I ordered the steak fajitas, which were just okay. For an upscale Mexican restaurant, I was expecting a bit more flavor. Overall, there were some highlights, especially the appetizers and drinks, but the atmosphere and main dish didn't quite meet expectations. With a few tweaks, this place has the potential to be much better!

Not what I expected walking in, none of the usual decor this was more trendy very open different taste in music. I sat at the bar top the waiter/bar tender was on top of it coming over while shaking a margarita, to slide me a menu and silverware asked how I was doing said he be right back and about that time they was sliding chips and salsa. Food was good steak tacos looked impressive. It lacked the seasoning or taste I expected with the thick slices of steak, the Tamala's seemed a lil old more dry then I'm use to. All in all was a good pick especially where it's located. Worth stopping in for a bite or a beer

Beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere. Margaritas and guac were great! Waiter was super professional. We came on a Monday night. We had to kind of yell to get someone's attention since there was no one up front. Food was good. We had to ask for checks with the food because we had somewhere to be. One of us ordered no meat, it came with lots of beef, but she said it tasted great. One ordered queso that didn't come. Couple mistakes on the bills. The tortillas on my tacos were well soggy by the time my plate came. Wishing them the best as it's a lot of tables in there, even for an established chain it would be a lot. It'd be great if Indy could have a successful, authentic, locally owned non-steakhouse in business downtown. Check it out next time you're craving guac and a marg!

This is a new Mexican restaurant downtown where the Rock Bottom Brewery used to be. It's much nicer inside than your usual Mexican restaurant. They have good lunch specials (includes a drink), and happy hour specials.

I went during the lunch hour and was surprised they weren't very busy. They had a lunch menu that offered a smaller portion. The burrito bowl I ordered was in a mug like cup. It was just the right amount for a light meal. The restaurant was quiet but the decor was engaging.

New restaurant located in the old Rockbottom location near the circle. Nice menu with your staples as well as some hard to find items on it. I opted for the chimichanga, since that is my go to when I go to a new-to-me restaurant. This one was particular delicious. It was clearly deep fried as it was a little crisp on the outside. It was stuffed to the max with meat and douse in queso. Just the way I like it. Someone had ordered guacamole and it was very good indeed and lots of it. Also chips and salsa were served on the house before the meal. I love that even so a lot of places are doing away with that nowadays. I had a nice margarita which was just the way I like it and quite potent I must say. I didn't finish all of it since I had to drive and I would not have been able to do so if I had finished my drink. All in all, very friendly service and great food and drink. Parking of course can be a bit tricky in the downtown area.

If you want authentic Mexican food in the Midwest, this is the closest thing you'll find! I was shocked to see pozole on the menu and I'm happy bc it's one of my favorite soups. The color is darker than what I'm used to eating but it's still delicious! Amazing customer service! Very large restaurant so perfect for big groups or families! The tostadas were warm and I think were home made bc they were amazing! I used them to scoop up my refried beans! Stop here and eat some delicious food and impeccable service!

Great food and better service! Very nice music and ambience. Greeted by Luis. He answered all our questions and gave good recommendations. Alejandra was our server and she was amazing. Best service I have had in awhile. I will eat here again before our conference is over.

This is such a great spot! I love Mexican and I would call this slightly more classy than the average Mexican joint while still having your favorites. It's real Mexican and not "trendy". The service was great and the food was very tasty. We will be back!

Tried this place for a second time because I had another coupon from Fox 59Be Our Guest. The coupons seemed to cause a great deal of confusion for the servers, I suggest to the manager the next time they decide to get into this that they understand how to use these coupons and train their staff. Other than that, we had a great waiter who had good suggestions and recommendations on their food, he made us delicious drinks. I wanted to try something different this time as I always tend to get a Birria taco, and I wasn't terribly hungry so I got the Bites Ribeye. I didn't care for it, the meat wasn't seasoned and was thin and tough. The meat was pink, it wasn't overcooked, it just lacked flavor. My friends had Oysters and Birria taco and were pleased. We were there on a Thursday evening, and it was very sad to see that we were the only table there until the end and another table came in. They have a lot of room to entertain parties, and it's sad to see the space being wasted.

Came here for dinner on a week night a few weeks ago while in town for an event at Lucas Oil Stadium. We were seated quickly and our server quickly brought us ice water, which we very much appreciated since we'd just come inside from the August heat. I ordered a quesadilla with steak while my son ordered a chimichanga. While we waited, chips and salsa were brought to our table. Our food arrived quickly and our friendly server checked on us several times to make sure we were doing ok. My meal was very tasty and my son said he enjoyed his as well. If you are looking for fast, friendly service and delicious Mexican food, this is your place.! I'm looking forward to coming again next time I'm in Indianapolis.
