Carnitas Burrito
Will W.

I recently enjoyed a burrito from Pica's. Although I didn't dine in. Service was friendly and I was able to place and receive my order in a reasonable amount of time. Inside the restaurant is clean and warm colored. were there somewhat tropical vibe. My Carnitas burrito was delicious with black beans, white rice, guacamole, and Mexican cheese. Pica's Restaurant is a great choice if you're looking for Migos to bring on all your adventures. Whether you're just looking for a bite to eat adventuring into GTNP or beyond.

I'm not sure why this place has such a low rating, but I had a really good meal here. I got a Carne Asada burrito, smothered, and chips and guac. The service was really good and I thought it was a cool neighborhood place. People were drinking margaritas all over the place, which looked pretty good, so I'm guessing that must be what they're famous for. I stumbled in here by accident while on a work trip and would definitely go back.

Our very first meal in Jackson, Wyoming was a delicious one. My research I had found that Pica's Mexican Taqueria had received good reviews, so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed. Pica's is a simple walk up, order and pay, and then you find a seat and they bring the food to you. The prices weren't too bad, especially considering you're in Jackson where everything's a little bit more pricey. I went with the chicken mole poblano enchiladas, and my wife got a wet burrito. The food was excellent. Very delicious, and full of flavor. We are used to getting chips and salsa/beans/cabbage upon arrival, but at Pica's you have to pay for it. And unfortunately, it wasn't until AFTER we paid for chips and salsa, that I saw their cheezey chorrrizo bean dip. So we got that as well. And THAT was EXCELLENT. The tortilla chips were crispy, salty, and delicious. Pica's has a self-serve water station, and we also got some drinky-drinks. My wife enjoyed their margarita so much, she had a second. The inside seating was packed, so we found a nice spot outside. We ate as much as our stomachs could hold, and took the rest to go. My wife and I love us some Mexican food, and where we live in Central Cali, I'd argue we have some of the best Mexican food outside of Mexico itself. So to be honest, my wife was not expecting much from this Wyoming spot. But this was excellent. We highly recommend stopping for a meal if you ever find yourself in Jackson.

Really good food and lots of seating, both indoor and outdoor. This is a place where you order at the counter and they bring it to you. The only negatives are it takes a long time to get your food. And also they weren't cleaning the tables in between guests so I had to sit at a dirty table.

What this place has going for it is fun local vibes! Lots of cool indoor and outdoor seating. I didn't get a margarita but I regret it because they look bomb and my (local) partner says they're the best quality/quantity for price in town. The pico, guac, and chips were super good. They have the type of tortilla chips that are thickkkkk. The food...first off, kinda pricey for the quantity of food. My partner and I split a veggie burrito (without cheese and sour cream to make it vegan and without flour tortilla to make it Gf). So basically was a bowl...and It was def not enough food...that said, our friend who got his own burrito only ate half so you could possibly split that. (It felt like there wasn't as much food in the deconstructed burrito order than the actual burrito for some reason). Food came out in like 20-25 min I think? And it was pretty meh for me. I also thought it was kinda annoying they wouldn't sub corn tortilla(s) for the flour tortilla. But I'm sure some of the other dishes are better? In summary, I'd come again but probably for a marg and chips/guac more than actual food. Good vibes. If I want filling, high quality Mexican, I'd hit Merry Piglets in town square. (Per word of mouth and reading reviews, Hatch and Fiesta also appear to be superior options.)

Chicken mole

Voted with my feet. Went there three times in a week's visit- lunch, dinner, and again to pick up the hoodie I left draped on an outdoor seat. That's how you hold your outside table- mark it, order and pay at the counter, food's brought out thereafter. Gotta say-- a fine burrito and unusual (chicken tinga). Beyond the typical asada, or chicken beans and mix of greens whites (rice) and yellows. Distinctly flavored and flavor-full. I'd have ordered the same for dinner, but ai spotted mole au menu, and the counterman assured it was in house-made, of the slightly sweeter type and I'll always fall for a mole. Think of the red iguana in salt lake, its grand US temple (to mole). This chicken did not disappoint. I'd have gone again on the last eve, but the legs had no drive, except to cross a street. Ain't climbing grand.

Cute little restaurant. You walk up to the counter to place your order and you bus your own table which we didn't mind at all. The margarita are delicious and strong. With fresh watermelon juice

Pro tip: call ahead. It gets really busy during tourist season. Pica's is one of our favorite quick stops in Jackson. They have a great selection with classic options and a couple of fun twists. Our kids love it and it doesn't break the bank. We used to go in and eat, which is great, but now we've learned to call ahead, pick up our order and we usually go to a park to eat somewhere off of the main town square (like the bouldering park near the Snow King resort). I can hardly wait to go back next year!

The guacamole was very good and I recommend it. The salsa was unmemorable, tasting more of canned diced tomatoes, and my personal preference would have been for roasted tomatoes and onions and garlic, with salt, vinegar and chiles. The tortilla soup was heavily cumin so if you don't like cumin, this is not for you. The recipe they have chosen is for more of a chicken tortilla mush. But it is not unlike others I have had. Ambiance is nice. Everyone super friendly. Great wall decor. I suspect that the recipes they have chosen are designed for clientele from all over but I would say, "Give your chefs an opportunity to offer something off menu as a special option". Some cookbooks to get ideas from are shown in photos.

I thought shoulder season meant milder temperatures, I was wrong. Half the restaurants here are on hiatus during the winter and spring. The pickens are slim and it took us three tries to find a lunch spot today. Merry Piglets Mexican Grill was not on the list but here we are, hungry. The staff was helpful and quickly seated us. The chips and salsa were tasty and quickly consumed. We placed an order of queso and more chips. The queso sauce was thin and lacked any spice. Three tacos: shrimp, el pastor and carne asada with beans and rice were also ordered. The meats and shrimp were good but scant. The tacos were not much more than meat and some onions. I was not left wanting more or satisfied with our selections. Merry Piglets Mexican Grill fills a need in the beautiful town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Of the many Mexican restaurants here, I don't feel the need to recommend or return here. I wish them well and can tell that the locals feel at home at MPMG.

A unique setting in a wine / liquor store with a tapas bar in the back, amongst the wine racks and liquor bottles. Long communal tables and sitting hip to hip with foodies, locals, and people meeting total strangers. It is good conversation with everyone sharing stories, not once was politics mentioned. Reservations are not taken, instead you will find the host making people scoot to make room for new arrivals at the long tables. Our servers were spot-on with service, drinks and sharing her favorites. It is cozy and casual, people meeting people. The spirits here are for the pros with knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and bubbles. We started with the wild mushroom mozzarella with balsalmic butter, parmesan and balsalmic glaze served on crunchy baguettes. It was unbelievably flavored and tasty, a great start to the night and must have! The Spanish salad with arugula, apple, fennel, almonds, manchego and a honey-sherry vinegarette was good but not on par with the other dishes. The tuna crudo with cucumber, arugula, crunchy grains, orange wedges, citrous vinegarette, fried capers and preserved lemon was light, a real palate cleanser, and refreshing. A pleasant surprise and would order again. The lamb pintxos was our final selection and a great dish to end the night on. The fork tender lamb tenderloin was served on 2 skewers with mojo verde, Spanish aoili, and pickled red onions on crisp baguette slices. Another Homerun! The menu changes frequently and the tapas allow you to try several different delectable dishes. It encourages sharing and forces you to open up and try different dishes. Hands-down my favorite food and conversation while visiting Jackson, WY. To the staff here at Binn 22, congrats on a unique and completely fabulous dinner and concept. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and dinner…read more Possibly the best ribeye I've had in the past 10 years, but the other "foam and powder"aspects of the dish were just silly. The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Great, festive, lively ambiance . Super friendly staff and service.

Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)
