Chile CHORRILLANA - looks inviting and tasted pretty good except for the meat, which was chewy like leather laced with gristle.

My wife and I visited Kalu today with great expectations after viewing the menus on the door. She ordered the chicken enchillada plate with mole sauce and I ordered the Chile - CHORRILLANA, which is french fries topped with beef, sausage, carmelized onions, 2 fried eggs and a mayo concoction that tasted pretty darn good. I had never ordered anything like this before and was excited to try it. I even took a picture of it. On mine, the french fries, the eggs and the mayo were the best parts. Unfortunately, the meat was tough like chewing on leather laced with gristle. On the enchillada plate we did not see any chicken. The mole was sweet not savory and the middles of the enchilladas were cold. The rice and beans were okay. The server was attentive and apologetic about the food and offered to redo the enchilada plate but we turned him down. You can only make a good first impression once and Kalu did not. We left hungry. Definitely not going back for more.

Solid Mexican food just off the square. It's a newer spot so it's less busy then some of the other hot spots but honestly better than the other Mexican restaurants within walking distance. Margaritas are STRONG and big. Great for families early in the evening but definitely has a clubier (for Jackson) vibe at night with Karaoke some nights. You can almost always find a seat or there's just a short wait. Help support a new local business owned by actual locals!

This was place was pretty so so for me. Not super vegan friendly but there are always options at Latin American places. Got a deconstructed veggie burrito without sour cream and cheese to make it gluten free and vegan. Veggies were very oily, beans were good, and rice was meh. The salsa that came at the beginning had a spaghetti sauce taste to me. Lunch pricing was good tho! We came around 2:30 pm on a Friday, and we were the only people in the whole place. Vibe was kinda cute but nothing to write home about. I'd skip and try Hatch if you want Latin American cuisine. Server was super nice tho.

The salsa was super fresh and delicious! Food and milkshakes were fantastic! Service was great! The location was clean and we loved the atmosphere!

If you like spicy ask for their spicy salsa - is to die for.

Good tacos- great salsa! Slow service but it's just opening- give it a try. Had steak, shrimp, chicken- the rice and beans are pretty authentic

    Food was destroyed!

Wow. Amazing. I think that everyone wants a Moose burger, because this place wasn't crowded at all. The food was so good. We had the grilled chicken, very juicy and flavorful. Ropa vieja had strong flavors, tender and got devoured. The jumbo chicken wings were crunchy and delicious. I also had the empanadas Colombianas. I was stuffed already so I had it to go

Amazing tacos and food. I had the birra, alpastor, and carne asada tacos and they were the bomb. Highly recommend this place.

The horchata is the real deal. I recommend the tradicional chileno. It's a loaded french fry chileno style.

Quite frankly, Sal's Pupuseria may be my favorite lunch spot in Idaho Falls…read more I love pupusas and would frequent different spots in Southern California and Vegas. Sal's Pupuseria is as close as it gets in Idaho Falls. The Loroco Y Queso pupusa is my favorite, no matter where I am. It's basically herbs & cheese but so delicious. The curtido (cabbage) at Sal's is a great addition and well seasoned. The carne asada taco was good. It was flavorful and bigger than your average street taco. However, it was pretty greasy. Use several napkins and then wash your hands right after type of greasy...but that's where the flavors at! Lol. Prices are slightly higher than the other places I'm accustomed to. However, my options in Idaho Falls for Salvadorian comfort food are limited so I'll take what I can get. Everything is cooked when you order it so be prepared to wait for a bit or call ahead. There were probably 3-4 people ahead of me during lunch hour and I waited close to 30 minutes for my food. The gentleman who works the counter isn't overly friendly but I understand that not everyone's personality is the same as mine. He was nice enough that I didn't feel uncomfortable. Overall, Sal's Pupuseria is a great little spot to grab a bite.

The tables outside of this truck have shade and are big enough to accommodate a party of 12, but they are comically high. Sitting on the bench, my food was about eye level, and my kids had to stand. I'd recommend grabbing it and going somewhere else to eat.
