Fun place and good food but servers are not that friendly, WHY? Probably because they are busting their tails. Very busy place! We did have a twenty minute wait around 6 pm. We were on a tour and our guide told us to eat here and have the Burnt End appetizer. Excellent choice and at $19 a pound it fed four of us. The picture was taken after a few bites. If you like burnt ends, I would give this place a try. read more

Big Hole BBQ - Jackson Hole - Burnt End Appetizer - Barbeque Near Me - Jackson, Wyoming

Big hole barbecue opened its doors in Jackson, Wyoming in 2017. I had only been past it over the past few years, but never been to it. But after going for lunch, I can say it's pretty good. The service was great. The manager was able to see us fast and the food was good. The fries and a pulled pork sandwich really hit the spot. The interior of the restaurant has brushed steel and orange painted walls, which give it a Mid South barbecue pit vibe there's outdoor seating available on Pearl Street. The restaurant floor was not too busy, but there were a few people dining in. read more

Delicious BBQ!!! Super fresh and my favorite were the BBQ ribs that the meat was so tender that it fell right off the bone. The brisket was great and the bread was toasted perfectly and had the right amount of butter on it. There local beers are really good too! Don't get me started on the pecan and milk pies omg.... To die for it's definitely a must try. Plenty of parking because they have a lot so no need to worry about that and located near a bunch of stores. Highly recommend to anyone! read more

"I'm fixing a hole where the rain gets in And stops my mind from wandering Where it will go" (Lennon and McCartney) Since Big Hole BBQ was so close to our motel, quite a few of our tour companions had dinner here, including us. It's a very casual restaurant and bar with your conventional bar food (nachos, mac and cheese, onion rings), salads, tacos, burgers, BBQ, and sandwiches. As soon as we sat down, some of our tour buddies passed us their basket of fried pickle chips because the portion was so big it overpowered them. I have to say, those pickles were fantastic-super crunchy and delicious. We ordered two mini BBQ tacos, one chicken and one pulled pork, with BBQ sauce, slaw and pico. At a rock bottom price of $5 each, these large "minis" were a stel and very tasty. I went with a rarely seen 1/3 rack of ribs with a choice of one side for $14. I chose cole slaw. The ribs were incredible and cooked perfectly. I know that "the meat slid off the bone" has become a cliché, but guess what, when I picked up the first one... yes... the meat literally fell off the bone into my plate. The four meaty ribs were great. For under $26 we ate like royalty. read more

One of the BEST BBQ I've had in a long time. Craving for some BBQ after a full day exploring Grand Teton. You have to order the Burnt Brisket appetizer. They give you a big portion good for 4 people. Ask for the Buffalo sauce. Amazing food and great service. I was impress of the service even with a full house. Without a doubt I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for bbq. read more

Big Hole BBQ - Jackson Hole - Combo plate, sides of onion rings, Cole slaw, added a small bowl of mac and cheese. This one plate was plenty for my husband and I. - Barbeque Near Me - Jackson, Wyoming

This place was great. Large portions( I had the brisket) and good sides(slaw and beans). Atmosphere was pretty "western," which was cool.

They got some things very right and some very wrong. The ribs were great. The rub on the brisket was wonderful, BUT the meat was so dry! We might have still enjoyed it if we could smother it in a great barbecue sauce, but the sauce was a huge disappointment. As for the sides, they were great. The baked beans were very good, the Caesar salad was well worth the up charge, and the baked potato was cooked perfectly, fluffy and delicious. Just too many misses to rate this above a 3. read more

I stopped in with my mom and sister. I got the Philly and fries. My mom got pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and slaw. We shared Mac and cheese and chicken tenders. The food was incredible. Everything came quickly and it was amazing. Definitely worth checking out. Our waiter, Riley, was awesome and made sure we were good the whole time. Much appreciation to the staff! read more

Ok so this place had some really high highs and some low lows... surprisingly, their pretzel was awesome! The Cuban sammy was pretty good and the fried pickles were tasty. The bbq itself was just ok. The Mac and cheese, eh not so great. The restaurant wasn't the cleanest and the service wasn't the greatest. It wouldn't be my to choice in Jackson. read more

In Texas, you could get shot for serving barbeque this bad!!! Brisket was not tender. However it did have gross 1 inch fat cap which should have been trimmed to 1/4 inch. We got it to go and said we needed enough for four people. We got home and the coleslaw was mounded up in foil. No container. Are you kidding. Never seen that before. How were the sides ? They gave us one small (about a 1/4 cup) of slaw and the same size for the beans for four people. Pork ribs were not tender. Very tough and took a lot of chewing. I suspect it might be best to skip barbeque in Jackson which is shame in a town that cherishes its western heritage. read more

Walked in sat down and enjoyed our lunch. Had grilled mahi mahi tacos that were filled to the brim with the fish and delicious Cole slaw. Hubby had pulled pork Sammy with onion rings a shot of tequila and a beer. We both scarfed down everything to the bone. Slurp!!! Service was excellent! Go it's amazing! read more

The food really good. The meats came out with no sauce. This was great because it allowed us to put the right amount of bbq sauce and choose which flavor sauce we liked the best. The pulled pork was delicous! The ribs were so smoky and good. Highly recommend stopping here. Service was just ok. It seems the bartenders are the servers as well so for them to find the right balance between dining and bar was a little rough. read more

Great BBQ with Local Brews and a Chill Vibe. Stumbled upon this BBQ spot and it did not disappoint. The food was flavorful --classic BBQ . What really stood out was the solid selection of local beers. The vibe was lowkey and fun, just a great place to kick back and enjoy some good food. Would absolutely come back! read more

A+ Experience at Big Hole BBQ! We had a party of six and were seated quickly, which was a great start. The place had a warm, laid-back vibe, and I have to give a shoutout to what I believe was the owner/operator--he was wearing all the hats that day. Bussing tables, waiting on guests, running food--you name it, he was doing it. And yet, despite clearly having a lot on his plate (pun intended), the service was still top-notch. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Now, onto the food--absolutely spectacular. Our group tried a little of everything: the Cuban, sweet potato fries, pulled pork sandwich, smoked chicken wrap with bacon and tomato in a tomato basil tortilla, prime rib sandwich, and Philly tacos. Every single dish was a hit. You can tell there's real pride and care going into everything that comes out of the kitchen. And that barbecue sauce? I only tried the original, not the spicy, but wow--maybe the best I've ever had. Perfectly balanced, with just the right mix of tang and sweetness. Seriously impressive. I'm already looking forward to my next visit--and next time, I'll bring a Michigan license plate for the wall. This place deserves all the love it gets and more. Don't miss it! read more

We stopped in here recently and unfortunately we came away disappointed. They did not have any ribs, The pulled pork was very cold and the drinks were not very tasty. The burnt ends and onion rings wee good though. Service so so read more

To say the Burnt Ends were good is a sad excuse of the English language. More powerful adjectives define the succulent and savory taste that comes when a dry rub meets aged beef. This organic experience awakens the mouth and sends you onto a one way trip to bliss. I did share a recipe idea which was to offer the brisket with the dry rub onto the brisket and load into the loaded fries. Remember you should name them "Sith Fries" read more

Great food waiter was very friendly. Generous portions on both our appetizers and the burgers/ sandwiches. Fun atmosphere, food was excellent. Will definitely go back when we are in town. This place should be rated higher. read more

Came here because my brother thought the name was funny. Food was just generally lacking in all departments. Chewy tortilla chips and dry ribs. Interior looks like it tried to be trendy, but gave up part way, eg. broken LED signs and license plates from less than half the states. Service okay but not special. read more

Stopped here with a couple friends, got the hot wings, big hole burger, Cuban Sammy, and the Philly. Food was great and wasn't too busy. My only bone to pick was the fries I got were about room temperature and the spicy bbq really wasn't that spicy. All in all I would def suggest stopping by if you want some good bbq for $15-$20 a plate. read more

3 stars is a stretch... more of 2.5'ish. Service, bad. Food, ok. Atmosphere, love it! I truly like the variety of options from the menus but what I would love is if they narrowed it some and really got a few things done right. The bbq has been consistently inconsistent with rubs, sauces, and finishing touches different on each of the dozen or so visits I've made over the last 2 years. Hoping my next visit always brings something a little better than the last... but I'm usually disappointed. Service; definitely a "don't care" attitude on all visits with slow returns for initial and checks throughout the meal, let alone 15-20 minute overtime to get your bill and get out. read more

Service was decent. Maybe 5 tables occupied including outside. We arrived after prime time. The food was good but not sure of the smoke. My posted pic of the rib gives me the impression this may be slow baked and seared on the grill - same as the chicken. We enjoyed the sides of onion rings and slaw. Again, the food was good but since we were passing through, it was convenient as well. read more

Pulled pork and brisket sandwich Delicious, fresh, and tender. Bbq sauce to add to it is perfectly sweet. Our 9 year old got regular tenders and fries and said they were his favorite tenders. Nice seating outside which is paramount as we had a dog! The place was busy inside and later on passing noticed the outdoor tables were all full. The food was good, the two melts were more than the girls could eat and were consumed later around the campfire. The brisket was consumed on the spot! Waiter was attentive, never went inside but did not get a good vibe for draft craft beers. Had a local, but not much choice. I would go back noting the town is a tourist trap so all food is pricey for anyone on a budget. read more

Came in for lunch and the place looked pretty good. Ordered were placed and it took a while to get our food. Three folks ordered ribs one burnt ends and I ordered the Cuban. The rib folks said they were good when heated but nothing special. Overall don't think I would revisit. read more

Came in at 8:15pm with the family. They close at 9pm. Young lady saw me and looks like she thought she saw a ghost lol she didn't say good evening or hello. She just said we close at 9 PM. This got me livid. I said we can finish early if you guys serve it fast. Food was bland, we ran out of chicken wings so we just ordered a prime rib Sandwich was nothing special. This was our first restaurant in Jackson hole and it was a big disappointment. They need to teach the workers better customer service, especially in an upscale place like Jackson hole. I was so annoyed that I wanted to email the manager, but I decided to bitch and complain on here. read more

Ok, I hate not having a lot positive to say, but this place missed the mark quite a few times during the meal. First the good news. The smoked wings were pretty good. Good smoke flavor. Slightly overcooked but all around pretty good with the dry rub option. The pork BBQ sandwich was large/solid portion and the meat was very tender. But there was zero smoke flavor. The 2 brisket sandwiches were full of meat, but whomever cooked it either does not know how to smoke a briskets, or they just cook a ton of them, and then the reheating process dries them out. There was no rub on any of the brisket. They were as dried out and bland as you could possibly imagine. The ribs were so so. Tender bites. Semi-decent on the tenderness and flavor but nothing that will blow your skirt up. And finally whatever you do do not order the mac & cheese. It is literally Kraft macaroni and cheese out of a box and they up charge you and extra three dollars for it. I don't think I've ever had worse macaroni and cheese in my entire life. This is a great venue and a great location that somebody who understands barbecue needs to come in there and do a complete revamp. Service was slowish, but we weren't in a hurry so it didn't really bother us. read more

Popped in for dinner but was a little disappointed with the bbq. The service was good, the wait was minimal, and our waitress was very friendly. A lot friendlier than the guys that work there. 5/5 - Burt ends - so good! The reviews are correct on this and they do melt in your mouth. I probably could've just ordered the larger portion and had this as my main dish. 3/4 - Pork sandwich with Mac n cheese and baked beans - the pork sandwich came out a bit cold. The mac and cheese was decent but the beans were not good. They are cooked a southern style but mine tasted a bit on the sour side. 3/4 - Ribs were just okay. Definitely needed sauce but the bbq sauce wasn't good. The original and spicy bbq sauces were just normal. read more

We started with an enormous appetizer plate of beautifully prepared fried okra before moving on to a pound of burnt ends with a side of french fries that proved equally enormous. A tap beer rounded out the order. The price point was very good, especially when one considers that the burnt ends are the real deal-- an end cut with a Texas flavor profile. You won't need the original sauce that's on the table, but it also makes for a good bite. All in all, we rank this one of the two best BBQ joints in Wyoming. read more

I am from Texas so I have had lots of barbecue in my life. The ribs at Big Hole were the best ever! If I had had more time in JH, I would have eaten all my lunch and dinner meals here. Very solid place. Good food and service would come back. Enjoyed the prime rib sandwich and baked potato.

Reading through other reviews, I have to agree that the service for us was also a bit lacking. We were told to seat ourselves when we arrived, sat at a table and it took probably 10 mins for someone to come over to us and get our drink orders. After that, our service was fine but food and drinks were just dropped off at our table without any conversation or something as simple as "here's your drink" etc. They dropped stuff off and left so quickly that it was hard to catch their attention to ask for anything. There were also several times we had to ask for things 2-3 times. A coke, extra side of ranch, a box. We did enjoy the food though, we split several items including buffalo smoked wings, burnt ends, Mac and cheese, and the big hole fries. All of it was cooked well and tasted good except the burnt ends. They were extremely fatty compared to any other burnt ends I've had. I also thought the portions were a good size for the prices. The drink prices were great as well! The vibe was good, several people eating and drinking watching sports games. I liked the decor and the laid back feel. For us, this was a chill dinner spot that we enjoyed. read more
