    Another lechon ready.
    Norm R.

Wow, lechon baboy just like I remember it from the lechonan (pig roasteries) places back in Manila! The pork is succulent, with crispy skin, and came with rice, mac salad, atchara (pickled shredded green papaya) and the requisite sawsawan (sauces or dips). I followed their schedule and location changes through their facebook page and it's a really good idea to come early - I did, and there was already a line; and at the rate the lechon orders were being dispensed, they must have sold out pretty early too.

    Dry and way too expensive

I have been following them for a long time and I was able to try it for the first time today in Phoenix, they set up a tent by rewined beer and wine. Their post showed a whole roasted pig in Instagram that looked very crispy and moist. Sad to say I was not impressed, maybe it was a bad day but the lechon was dry, no flavor and worse of all the skin was already soo soggy.. I also ordered the ube pandesal and it was dry. The cheese was ok but for $12 for a half dozen??? $2 per pandesal should blow my mind with freshness and flavor but it didnt... I hope its not always like this. PS. This is coming from a Filipino who grew up in the Philippines. On a positive note, their customer service is great! Hope to try them again in a better day...

Long overdue review for a meal I had back in April. I had 2 Filipino friends visiting from out of town so I decided to order a Kamayan meal for us since, well, I've never had one before. It was a great decision! Our meal (I think the dishes change from time to time so better to check with the business) that feeds 4 people features lechon kawali (deep fried pork belly), lechon manok (whole chicken), pancit (stir fried noodles), and lumpia (fried egg rolls). It also comes with rice, Achara (Filipino green papaya relish), brown sauce (mang tomas), sweet and sour sauce, and a vinegary soy sauce. Banana leafs are included too so we could make our own spread at home. The pick up location is in Mesa which was over 25 minutes away from my home. The packaging was great, the fried items were not sealed so they would not steam and become soggy. When we started eating almost an hour later the pork belly and egg rolls were still extremely crispy - those were my favorite two items although I enjoyed everything we got. The chicken which was stuffed with lemongrass, green onions, bay leaves, and garlic was very flavorful. The rice was made stickier than normal so it was easy to pick up and eat with hands which is the traditional way to eat! We also got pandesal filled with ube jam and cheese which we didn't really have room for after the meal but they were great the next day too. I would definitely recommend trying the Kamayan from Phx Lechon Roaster! Great food, value, and over all a lot of fun!

Out in AZ with our large family, and meeting a few other family members. I had the idea to look for a pig roast for the group, but didn't have the resources or skills to cook one myself. From Google, I landed on this company. Brian was EXTREMELY responsive, and on pretty short notice of mike 3 days, he was able to prepare and organize a delivery to us in Scottsdale. We ordered a whole pig (about 35lbs) and 2 of the rotisserie chickens, that came with sauces also. The presentation and cook temperature was excellent. From the crispy skin, to the perfectly cooked pork, we did a pretty serious job carving up, pulling and stuffing our faces. Definitely recommend this for a group - we had 19 adults and a couple kids. Was plenty of food. Not sure we even touched the chicken until a few hours later. Go pick up some pork or see if a delivery will work. Service was great and delivery on the time

We each got 2 ea piece of the Lechon so next time we would probably just order the Sisig and Lechon since they were very tasty!

Very much recommend the Lechon Kawali and Sisig dish! We bought the Kamayan dinner for 4 but we eat a lot so we felt it wasn't enough for us. It's a good experience if you want a traditional Filipino feast platter. Thank goodness we did add the Sisig and half a dozen ube pandesal. Must try ofcourse! I am sure we will be back for the ube pandesal, Lechon and Sisig! $50 kamayan with Sisig dish $12 and half Dzn ube pandesal $12.

Disappointed with the food I received. Saw them at a festival but didn't get to try so when I saw them again the following week, I beelined to their tent. After waiting in line for quite some time, I ordered a combo plate. The description was good and it cost me $17, so I thought it would be pretty substantial. Nope. The portion was small and flavors were mediocre. Pork was bland and had no flavor, mac salad was not pleasant, rice was interesting, and the only sauce was the brown vinegar based one in the picture but nothing matched with it. This should've been a $8 plate, tops.

PHX Lechón Roasters catered my wife's birthday party we had at the house. Amazing experience. We had to postpone it from November to yesterday and they were very accommodating with the last minute postponement due to COVID. The wait was worth it. Having the lechón roasted on site was a cool experience and the food was delicious. The set up and presentation was also excellent. Will consider them again for future occasions.

Bryan was FANTASTIC & stayed to serve the most delicious Cebuchon ever! Our Thanksgiving Lupper was a success! Thank you, Bryan!

Over rated. Just had the pork skewer at a festival. Waited for ever and it was dry and over cooked. Not sure why it's hyped up.

A good friend of mine was craving Filipino food so we chose Nanay's to scratch the itch. "Nanay" is the Tagalog word for mother. Let me tell you, this place is LEGIT!!! The restaurant has a pretty good size dining area. You can also order ahead for pick up. Employees are very friendly here and I appreciated the fact that the older gentleman was nice enough to give me a sample size of the Langka. It was right on the money! All of the food we got was definitely made with love. You can see it and you most certainly can taste it. I'm a big fan of Sisig, so it was only right to order it. They offer steamed white rice, garlic fried rice and pancit for your base. You get to choose your entrées (choose 1, 2 or 3). I opted for the sisig and their pork adobo which I have been told is a best seller here. No lies were told, as the adobo was on point! I also wanted to sample their "bilo bilo" and it was just like my mom's. I can never get enough!! Prices here won't swallow your wallet, and the parking lot outside is huge! The place was poppin' when we stepped inside and the line only got longer. That's how you know it's DAMN DELICIOUS! I suggest you try out Nanay's because you are missing out if you don't. Should you find yourself searching for some authentic Filipino food, bring yourself!! You'll be sure to leave feeling like you just ate at mom's house! enJOY!! =)

We were the only people in line, and it seemed like he just wanted us out of the store. When he was scooping the kare kare, he also kept scooping past the meat (beef items are an extra +$1 btw) and would dump out each scoop if he thought he was giving us "too much". Everything including the service was VERY greasy and I wouldn't come back.

We ordered: - 1pc Chickenjoy + Spaghetti - Side of Coleslaw - Drinks I started by trying the spaghetti, which I didn't realize had hot dog slices and pork in general. I try to avoid pork, but nonetheless tried today. The sweetness is not my thing, though I've had Filipino spaghetti before (no hot dogs in the one a restaurant made). Perhaps if you like pork and sweet sauce made with banana ketchup, this is your acquired taste? As for the chicken, I took a small bite as I have just reintroduced some meat in to my diet. I liked the skin and it had a good flavor. The coleslaw pairs nicely with it, but about average in flavor for a coleslaw. Still on the search for one to rival the one Chic-fil-a had and discontinued. Overall though, the dining area was spacious and the service was very friendly. The food was prepared quickly and the staff kept the tables tidy as patrons left. Very impressed with the cleanliness. Definitely worth a visit if you want to try something different and if I returned, I'd try something different.

For me, I enjoy the chance to engage with culture, eat a variety of foods, and support our local Asian community. These events typically take place in the parking lot of the AZ International Marketplace in Mesa. Several food and retail vendors fill up the parking lot with all sorts of yummy food and cool merchandise. There is also a stage with live entertainment. I recently attended the Kamayan Festival version of the night market which was part of the celebration for Filipino American History Month. I had a VIP pass to the Sapporo beer garden and enjoyed the perks that came with it. As much as I enjoy being a part of these festivals, the lines are usually insanely long. I come to these to try new things, but find myself getting discouraged by the long waits. I have learned the best time to come to Asian Night Markets is when they first open if you want to try a variety of food.

I attended the January 2022 edition of this annual event, occurring at Lunar New Year. Centered on…read morethe Asian Pacific American community, this event celebrates cultural diversity, cuisine, art, and music. Organized by the Asian Chamber of Commerce, I know that in the past this required admission but this year's was free. I would not be surprised if it becomes an admission-only event in the future as it was packed from the entry time of 5:30. Given that the city of Mesa has decided to invest considerable resources to brand the area as an Asian enclave, I suspect it will get bigger and more impressive each year. While there are a ton of food trucks here, my advice would be not to show up hungry. Nearly every stall had long lines (save the poor coffee vendor). I would like to say that lines moved quickly, but most did not. I think it is better to have eaten a little something first and then show up and have a snack or two or come later in the evening when the live music really gets going. But if you plan to make this your sole dinner stop it will be frustrating. One perk of a big festival like this is that many smaller caterers/restaurants/food trucks that you haven't heard of will show up. There was plenty that was new to me and gave me a bucket list of places to try. I got some bao buns from Hot Bamboo which has a brick-and-mortar location in Chandler as well as a food truck that often pops up at festivals across town. They make Instagrammable character buns. It's a bit cheesy but the price was good and they were flavorful and satisfying. They were temporarily out of some fillings and the employees were profusely apologetic. It did inspire me to want to one day visit their actual restaurant. The vibe was great and the 2022 edition was a nice blend of people from all walks of life eager to celebrate our post-pandemic world (yeah, Year of the Tiger!). Besides food trucks, there were a few vendors selling gifts and other items but nothing popped out as too special. You can find the schedule on their website. Besides the night market, they also organize some daytime activities at parks that focus less on food and more on culture.
