Came in for an unplanned dinner because so many people suggested Phoenecia. We didn't have a reservation, and the place was packed! Thankfully, a table was just checking out as we arrived, so we were seated quickly. The table was just off the bar and had arm chairs, rather than regular wooden chairs. While they were very comfortable, they were too low for the table and thus a bit awkward... overall not a big deal though. The waitstaff were incredible, especially given how busy they were. All the staff were warm and welcoming and provided fast and friendly service. We ordered the Trio of Spreads to start; the baba ghanoush was particularly delicious. For entrees, I had the Jewel of the Ocean and my friend had the Lamb Shank. Both entrees were VERY good. My seafood was perfectly cooked, and my friend said his lamb shank was fork tender and delicious. We were both so excited to eat, I forgot to snap pictures before we dug in. read more

First will firmly agree with the food reviews they are spot on. But many others wonderful things going on here excellent service, wine list and craft cocktails. This restaurant has great Spanish-tapas vibe, not many around in the PNW. Lastly it's family ran, so happy see that and we will be back. read more

Lovely Friday evening here! We had some cocktails close by at the Alley. Bartender there suggested Phoenicia for a "classy dining experience." It was classy indeed. We had previously come here when it was alchemy so it was interesting to see the space re-imagined with a European/Mediterranean touch. Our server was amazing - brought out several wine tastings to ensure I liked my selection. Ended up going with the Couvent from Lebanon and enjoyed. Bolder and fuller bodied compared to the other red glass pours. For dinner we ordered burrata, clams and pizza to share. We couldn't decide between the pizzas so got half squash half prosciutto. YUM. Those were amazing!! Perfectly cooked pies and tasted so fresh. The only "complaint" was the value equation of the apps. Definitely not entree sized - but entree prices. $17 for burrata and $19 for the clams. Don't get me wrong...the flavors were amazing, (especially the tomato broth of the clams. I kept it to dip pizza crust in. Great decision) but still very much on the pricy end for apps. Anyway - we look forward to coming back. Excellent service and great ambiance. read more

They checked in on us at an appropriate level that felt warm and friendly. I ordered the truffle oil and mushroom pizza and the crust was perfect (doughy and crunchy in the right places). One of the many stops during the day's adventures to celebrate my partners birthday and probably the most memorable stops. We made a reservation and were thusly treated like VIP guests. It was a little unwarranted but at the same time kinda fun and led to us getting a really nice table and great service. We shared a garlic green bean starter and then finished with the lamb shank special; which was succulent, tender, and well seasoned. They said the lamb would feed two but I bet I could've taken that down myself... and then fall asleep at my seat. So I'm glad I saved room for dessert, because their baklava was yum. Another great meal here. They just announced they were closing at the end of December (due to landlord issues, not lack of business), so all the regulars were in and it was a busy Thursday night. Alki needs to figure its ish out now that all of the good restaurants will be gone. Service is always friendly and we always feel like family here. Food was solid as always. It's s bit pricey here, but you're eating great food on the waterfront- so keep that in mind. We ordered the ravioli w/ lamb bacon special as our appetizer (even though it's meant to be an entree). It was sooo good. My husband and FIL got the Lamb special, which they both devoured. I finally ordered the seafood pasta and it was as good as I always imagined. Anyways- go support this place in the next two months so they can reopen somewhere else! We need to support our local family restaurants!! read more

Prosciutto de Parma Pizza $19: I got hit with a craving for prosciutto pizza on my way home from work, so decided to try this place for takeout. My pizza took about 15 minutes. I measured it when when I got home and it's not a perfect circle, but it was about 10 inches in diameter. My appetite is generally on the smaller side, but I was full after eating this on my own. It wasn't the best prosciutto pizza I've had (that is still Archive Bar & Kitchen in San Francisco) but it was good enough and hit the spot. I didn't taste the olive oil on it, so at home I did dip the crust in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I do want to come try to dine in sometime to try other items and their yummy looking cocktails! Update: I have since returned to dine in for a date night and had a great time! The Phoenician $14: Really likes this drink, it had the right amount of tartness. It went down so easy I could have drank it in one gulp but forced myself to make it last throughout dinner. Nightshade $13: I normally don't like the drinks my boyfriend orders because the alcohol is too strong for me, but I didn't mind this one! Still not something I would order for myself, but it was pretty smooth. Burrata $17: A tasty appetizer. The grilled bread was so good! Buttery and the perfect texture to enjoy with the cheese. Lamb Chop Lollipops $16: The first bite was good and I could taste that garlic-y butter. After that, I either got used to the flavor or it faded because it was a little bit on the bland side. Texture was good, but I personally felt it was missing a tiny pinch of salt. The Alki $19: The crust was good like last time. Crispy but not burnt. The right amount of chewiness. I did request oil and balsamic vinegar at the restaurant to dip the crust. Flavor wise I would pick the Prosciutto de Parma over this one. I do eventually want to try their pepperoni and Margherita pizza as well. Tiramisu Cocktail $13: It reminded me of a White Russian, and I love those! Nutella Cheesecake $9: I'm normally not into chocolate cheesecakes or cakes because I find them too rich. I was willing to give this a try because Nutella and it was tasty! The cheesecake was dense but not overwhelmingly sweet. I didn't really taste any hint of biscotti liquor in the whipped cream though. Turkish Affogato $8: The coffee comes on the side so you can pour it over yourself. We accidentally put too much coffee on it so the ice cream melted pretty quickly. There was still enough coffee leftover after that to drink some on its own, so it's almost a 2 for 1 deal. ***** My Star Ratings: 1 Star - Terrible. Just thinking about it makes me angry. 2 Stars - Meh. Unlikely for me to return. 3 Stars - OK. Open to coming back, but wouldn't go out of my way to. 4 Stars - Yummy! Will definitely return if I haven't already. 5 Stars - AMAZING!!! Would plan my day or even a trip around eating here. read more

We moved here from elsewhere in the US so we are still getting used to how rude restaurant experiences are in Seattle, but this was next level. We spent $300 for 2 entrees, 2 salads, dessert, and a bottle of wine, and this is some of the worst restaurant service I can remember having. I have mixed feelings about Phoenicia. We've mostly done takeout (and the lamb dishes and spreads have all been delicious) but we heard dining in was even better so popped by. My husband was excited to try the saffron chicken others have raved about but the chicken was over cooked. I got the fig salad with shrimp - the shrimp were excellent, super plump, well cooked and flavorful, but the salad was overdressed and soggy and the choice of lettuce wasn't quite up to par for a nice restaurant. Dessert was ok, the chocolate torte was a bit dry. Service was a little slow but servers were friendly. We were underwhelmed with what we had but we may give it another shot and stick to the dishes we know are a hit, like the lamb and appetizers. read more

My husband and I came here a few weeks ago for our first date night in months, since we have a baby and just moved here from California. They treated us so well and even treated us to dessert to celebrate. Great drinks, old fashioned was tasty and I got a blueberry lemonade. I had a lovely girls night dinner here last Friday! I called ahead of time and made a reservation and asked about vegan options on the menu. The staff was extremely helpful and were able to accommodate all of our groups dietary restriction with lots of vegan/vegetarian options to pick from. I love the ambiance of this restaurant, with the beautifully lit bar and chandeliers and the dark and intimate atmosphere. Food was amazing; we got the garlic green beans, spaghetti squash, fig and & Pancetta pizza, gnocchi, lots of cocktails and desserts were on the house. My favorite part was dessert with the baklava and affogato ice cream. I highly recommend this restaurant, and they were able to accommodate our larger party and were so friendly and helpful to us. Favorite date spot that I've been to. We ordered the fig salad, pizza and the lamb shank. The fig salad may look small but it is not to be messed with. Super flavorful and we demolished it in seconds. The figs were juicy and went so well with the arugula. The pizza was also pretty good- you can't mess up pizza. But really the star of the show was the lamb shank. With a hefty price tag- I cannot emphasize how great this dish was. Our waiter told us that the lamb shank is the only thing the original owner still makes and man is it good. The meat just falls off the bone. It's so flavorful and juicy and overall drool worthy. The cocktails were really good as well! Very refreshing. The waiters have a good idea of what to recommend to you so I wold go with that. this was such a weird experience. my partner and i went here for a special occasion and made reservations. the ambiance of this place is very nice-but, that's if you can block out the bartender and staff legitimately yelling at each other and fighting from across the restaurant i felt like i was in an episode of kitchen nightmares. we really hoped the food would be good too, it sincerely was so. bad. my pizza was so slimy with oil it made me have "bad mouth feel" as do me would say, though the sauce of the pizza was pretty okay. there was also a lot of raw flour still on the bottom of my pizza. my partners food was shockingly mediocre- the rice he had tasted like it had actually been contaminated with chemicals. chicken was so dry. it was also such a bland dish. again, we were both dumbfounded, because we've walked past this restaurant so many times and said "man it looks fun to eat there!". holy crud it was not! from the drama occurring so openly in the dining room, to the sub-par quality of the food, i think the only thing that we did like was the lemonade by the bartender that was yelling quite a bit. he makes a good lemonade. also, every step of the process was a different server. one of the people who tried to talk to us and tell us that they appreciated us coming (i think they could tell we were quite unhappy with the circumstances), seemed genuinely inebriated while working. we were so uncomfortable especially feeling somewhat cornered at the end of our meal by a semi drunk looking server when it was so clear we wanted to leave!! all and all thanks for the kitchen nightmare lol we wont be back! read more

Came to Phoenecia on a Friday night to grab some dinner and check it out. It maintains a similar vibe to the previous bar which was in the location before, Alchemy. It's ambiance is dimly lit, suave, and perfect for a date night. The service is great and everyone was extremely warm and welcoming, and the cocktails were tasty. On the food front (the whole reason we came), was where I was disappointed. Simply put - the food is overpriced for what it is. The trio of dips was alright, and the labneh was the standout from a pretty standard lineup. The garlic green beans were the most surprising example of how overpriced I believe the food to be here. The pizza was good, although not memorable compared to other slices you can get even a few blocks down in West Seattle. Overall, I'd come here again if I was just getting a cocktail - but I wouldn't come back for dinner. read more
