This restaurant has been in the Seattle area for years and yet I have never been. I wish I had known about it earlier but better late than never, yea? Ambiance is a ten, food is a ten, cocktails are a ten, service is a ten, presentation is ten. The lamb lollipops, roasted cauliflower, seafood stew with saffron rice, saffron chicken linguine and lamb shank were all made with pride. You can taste it. For my birthday, they so kindly brought my dessert (baklava, perfectly sized pieces) with a candle- so thoughtful! I don't live near West Seattle anymore but I'd make the trip to dine here again. Somehow we didn't try this restaurant before COVID - but we have now. Ordered delivery - everything was packaged very well. The saffron chicken was just as good as everyone is saying - very tender and flavorful. We also got the three dips - the baba ganoush had a lot of depth and complexity. The fig salad had the perfect amount of "stuff" to greens and the truffle pizza reminded me of why truffle oil was so trendy a few years ago - it really condenses the flavor on a puffy crust. Amazing inclusive menu in the heart of West Seattle. Are you gluten free? Vegetarian? Muslim and can't eat pork but love lamb? You have PLENTY of options here. The cauliflower dish was meh. The food is not the issue here, it's the service. The servers are nice but maybe a little too beginner? Friend got his mocktail about 10 mins before I had to tag them down for my wine. I had to remind them which wine it was. We didn't get plates until after the food arrived. It was a bit hectic. As a business owner myself, you never turn down money unless the place is already super busy and people are waiting extra long for service, food, drinks and even their checks. I had a really wonderful meal at the Phoenecia. It serves and interesting combination of pizzas and small plates--but works well. They have a great wine list--I ordered a great Walla Walla Vinters Cuvee. I started with the trio of spreads--hummus, labneh, and baba ghanoush. This was served with warm pita. All the spreads were great, but my favorite was probably the hummus. They all had really good flavor. Next was the saffron chicken. This was absolutely delicious and the sauce was incredible. The chicken was cooked perfectly. I ordered some extra pita bread just to be able to sop up the saffron sauce it was so good. Next, I had some of the garlic green beans. The beans were really fresh and the garlic was not overpowering. I ended with the lamb chop lollipops. There were just two on the plate, but these were fantastic. Stopped by for late dinner this past weekend and was very happy with our visit. Food: The menu consisted of small plates, entrees, and pizza. We decided to stick to a variety of small plates. We found that 5 small plates & 2 desserts was more than enough for the 2 of us. The food was absolutely delicious. Our favorite was the trio spread and 39 spice beef. The baklava with rose ice cream was incredible! Service: Service was great! They really do work as a team here. Jeffrey was amazing and is a big reason we'll be back (even if we live 40 mins away). I came here for the first time today at the invitation of an acquaintance. The car is street parking near the restaurant. And at the restaurant you need to wear a mask and show your vaccination card. It is cold near the entrance every time customers come and go. If you're cold, I recommended to sit in the back of the room. When I entered the restaurant, I was impressed by the wonderful atmosphere. Our reservation was at 5:45pm, after sooner full of customers. First we ordered Tiramisu Cocktail : Dark rum, espresso liqueur, Borsci amaro, mascarpone cheese, and coffee. Seasonal Cocktail called Champagne Revolution: Champagne, ginger, gin, lemon, prosecco. Both Cocktails are yummy and easy to drink. Small plate for Lamb Chop Lollipops: Grilled with fresh rosemary garlic butter. Manilla Clams: Steamed with garlic, herbs, white wine, and a touch of red sauce. Eggplant Lamb Ragu: Tender roasted eggplant topped with lamb ragu, mozzarella, and pine nuts. Fresh mozzarella, Roma tomatoes and basil nestled adtop fresh basil oil. ***Three to four small plates would be the equivalent of one entree volume. So we chosen 2 entries for 4 people. One for Balsamic Braised Lamb Shank: Rich, balsamic-braised lamb shank is served with roasted potatoes and creamy garlic kale. Lamb was so tender and delicious. Highly recommend it. Second entry for Spaghetti Squash - vegetarian: Spaghetti squash sautéed with shallots, garlic and basil, served with with a robust tomato sauce, and topped with freshly grated pecorino cheese and sunflower seeds. Good taste. We ended up with Turkish coffees and Turkish Affogato: Turkish coffee poured over your choice of vanilla or rose ice cream. Add biscotti liqueur for an additional. Had the best experience at Phoenecia tonight - we've lived in West Seattle for a bit and have been eyeing this place. So glad we finally got a chance to go! The atmosphere is super welcoming and trendy. We were treated with kindness from the moment we walked in. We especially loved our server Jeffrey who was one of a kind. We ordered a few different things and loved it all - - Mediterranean Gin and Tonic: Refreshing and crisp and presented in such a cute way with herbs and fruit - Lebanese Flatbread: I absolutely love za'atar so this was a hit for me. It was flavorful and not too heavy for an appetizer - Burrata: The bread that came with this was perfect as it was not too toasted but also not cold. The cheese itself was also delicious and a decent portion for sharing with a group - Kale Salad: OMG this surprised us. The combination of ingredients and the dressing were phenomenal. I would eat this everyday if I could. - Mushroom Gnocchi: Also delicious. It was a crispy gnocchi rather than saucy, which I thought was a nice change from typical gnocchi dishes I've had. Decided to venture out and try a new place not around my hood and it did not disappoint. I came here with a few girlfriends and we were all really impressed. We ordered the trio of spreads and it was great! Perfect start to the meal. You could tell they were made freshly and the bread soft and fluffy it just melted in your mouth. My friend split the Saffron Chicken Linguini for our entree and OMG it was delicious. I kinda regretted that I was splitting it because I honestly could have ate the whole thing lol will definitely come back to have that again as well as try more items! I needed a Friday night West Seattle dinner reservation for an impromptu friend date that was planned the day before. When I saw I could snag a reservation at Phoenecia on Yelp, I grabbed it. Most tables were full when I arrived and was warmly greeted at the door. The room was humming, but not too loud for conversation. I was offered a beverage right away while waiting for my friend to arrive, and went with the Strawberry Thyme Faux-jito, which was delicious. Pal and I decided to go with small plates and the Kale Caesar. From the small plates menu section we tried Lebanese Flatbread, Saffron Chicken, Tiger Prawns, Garlic Green Beans and Roasted Cauliflower. All of the portions were generous for small plates, and some dishes stood out more than others, like the juicy, well cooked shrimp and the green beans, which came with a tarragon cream dipping sauce. I liked the flatbread, which had just a dusting of Zaatar, crumbled feta and some olives. I had expected it to be more like a Maneesh (apply one of the various spellings here), but it was more like a (good) pizza dough, which makes sense since they have several pizzas on the menu. The cauliflower was the only disappointment as it was undercooked, but did come with a nice labneh that I was more interested in eating on the flatbread. The kale Caesar was meh. We had a chocolate hazelnut mousse type cake the server said was "from Italy". It was good, but I am not dreaming about it like I sometimes do about desserts. Overall Phoenecia is a solid Mediterranean choice with welcoming service in a pleasant setting. read more

Absolutely one of our favorite restaurants not just in Seattle but overall. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and the food is amazing, you'll be thinking about the saffron chicken weeks later and the lamb is a dish we always return to as well, so tender and flavorful and cooked perfectly to just fall apart and melt in your mouth. Even the pizza is memorable, and the sharables are so fresh and a perfect way to prepare for the delicious meal ahead. Ask Jeffery for a wine pairing and you'll not be disappointed, he always makes our visit even better. The family is wonderful and we fell in love with the story of the restaurant. Lovely Friday evening here! We had some cocktails close by at the Alley. Bartender there suggested Phoenicia for a "classy dining experience." It was classy indeed. We had previously come here when it was alchemy so it was interesting to see the space re-imagined with a European/Mediterranean touch. Our server was amazing - brought out several wine tastings to ensure I liked my selection. Ended up going with the Couvent from Lebanon and enjoyed. Bolder and fuller bodied compared to the other red glass pours. For dinner we ordered burrata, clams and pizza to share. We couldn't decide between the pizzas so got half squash half prosciutto. YUM. Those were amazing!! Perfectly cooked pies and tasted so fresh. The only "complaint" was the value equation of the apps. Definitely not entree sized - but entree prices. $17 for burrata and $19 for the clams. Don't get me wrong...the flavors were amazing, (especially the tomato broth of the clams. I kept it to dip pizza crust in. Great decision) but still very much on the pricy end for apps. Anyway - we look forward to coming back. Excellent service and great ambiance. read more

I used to come here all the time when I lived on Alki, and even years later the ladies still remember my order even though my visits are few and far between.
