Flatbread - steak, grapes, Parmesan, an arugula
Hayley H.

We had such a fun girl's night here! The menu is extensive with a lot of variety and something for everyone. Our waiter was wonderful - consistently checked in and took care of us. Had great recommendations and matched our group's energy. We loved the potatoes bravas, ham and manchego cheese croquetas, and the green beans. The flatbread was a little dry but the flavor combo of the steak with pickled grapes was super unique and yummy. A few tips: Leave plenty of time for parking as the parking garage behind the restaurant added a good 15 minutes to find a spot. You'll be offered mineral or tap water - the mineral costs at $6 a bottle, which wasn't super clear to us.

My husband booked a reservation for us two and the kids on Valentines Day around noon. We waited over 25 minutes to be served and that is only because I complained about others getting helped before us. They brought over crackers as an apology for the kids. The waiter took our order and forgot the salad we ordered. The food was great. Our personal favorites were the croqueta de jamón and the chops. The service was not great at all. After the food was delivered, the waiter didn't go check on our table. I had to ask the hostess for the bill. Pretty disappointed in the experience.

This eatery has excellent tapas. The small plates are rich, creative and flavorful. The Sangria is fruity and just makes you want more! I recommend the Pincho Gilda for fish lovers, wild mushroom and basil croquettes, braised lamb shank! Succulent, flavorful and the staff is so friendly!

We visited Castilla on a Thursday evening and found it quiet and easy to get a table. Our waiter helpfully suggested us to order the paella right away because it takes about 20 minutes to prepare. It requires a 2-person portion minimum. We chose the Squid Ink Paella and it was fantastic. The portions were very generous, the seasoning was superb, and the rice had the perfect texture--flavorful without being too soft. It also had plenty of seafood. We also ordered one appetizer and two cocktails, and they were pretty standard. Overall, we absolutely loved the paella and would highly recommend it. Our only wish is that the portions were slightly smaller (or with 1 person option) with a correspondingly lower price point. It felt a bit expensive for the value.

We went for a lunch with our family friends from Spain and they have lots of great options! Plenty for vegetarians, but unfortunately only one vegan option. The service was good and they food came out as it was ready, so it was very much a tapas kind of experience. We had been here once before I was using Yelp and had a positive experience as well. Would recommend.

I've been here a few times and always found everything delicious! The paella usually takes longer to cook and serve, so it's best to order it first. The portions are huge as well. Other tapa dishes are usually good, with smaller portions that work well for sharing among 2-4 people. The restaurant can be quite popular, so it's best to make reservations ahead of time. It can also get a bit loud due to the crowd. The staff is helpful and attentive. Parking is free in the same parking garage.

Food was just ok. Not memorable. You'd come here for the atmosphere and shareable bites. Lots of things to try. But overall disappointed in terms of taste and uniqueness. My favorite was the paella but even then it was not amazing. Server was amazing. He was nice, friendly, attentive, and sincere. I would not come here again.

Comfy upscale paella right in Bellevue Square! I cannot speak to the authenticity of the food but the overall taste and flavor was pretty good. My personal favorites of the tapas that we ordered included the grilled octopus leg (cooked perfectly), brussel sprouts, and tuna salad. The paella mixta had lots of mussels and shrimp and rice was cooked well, overall great flavor. Service was prompt and professional. Overall vibe was cozy and upscale but not overly intimidating either. Not the most bang for your buck or budget friendly place overall but worth a visit for a nice occasion.

MUSSELS

I thought the lamb chops were good, but expensive for what you get. Overall, we thought everything was too salty and could not finish. The mussels especially were too salty along with the calamari tenders. I'm not sure if I would come back. The restaurant does have a nice ambiance inside though.

artichoke fritters, croquettas (with mushroom and missing one), and empenadas

Spanish Specialties from Paella to Tapas, Gozpacho to Flatbreads. This was my second time here and I was even more impressed this time than the previous. We were sat quickly, the tables are a little close to each other and the booths aren't very tall so it got pretty noisy around us. but tolerable. Some tables by the window looked picturesque, but too open for public viewing for me. The service was great. Our server checked in on us and was prompt with our questions, she had a hard time explaining some dishes but we ended up very satisfied with the selections. The food was loaded with flavor! The croquetas were packed with mushroom flavor, the empanadas were perfectly crispy and seasoned. We also got mussels which were not fully cooked, but they made us a new one which was done right. I would've liked a little more sauce in the mussels but not sure if that's just my expectation of a having italian alle vongoles. Anyway this is a perfect spot for happy hours, or people experimenting with Spanish cuisine, or a group date!

BRIE, CARAMELIZED APPLES, PECANS

TLDR: 10/10 every bite was delicious. Great portions for tapas. Happy hour every day 3-5p. We went during happy hour (bar area only) on a Sunday and it wasn't very busy. Our food came out in less than 20 minutes - we ordered a flatbread (cocas rústicas) and 3 tapas plates. Same sauce for the artichoke fritters and croquetas. Everything came out hot and delicious! Artichokes were crispy on the outside and soft and tender inside. Ham and cheese croquettes had a tangy cheese filling - couldn't taste the ham much. Bacon wrapped dates were sweet and salty with a spicy surprise that builds while you chew ! I'm not sure if the spice came from the sauce or if it's from inside the dates. Windows open for the summer , so it's great for a sunny or breezy day. Bar seats have purse holders (to die for) and bar sections for happy hour has seats that aren't directly at the bar. Can't wait to come back for the paella

Came here with some friends. Seating took awhile as it was Friday night. We order lamb chops, squid ink paella, shrimp wrapped bacon, croquettes, and some other stuff. Everything was good.

Ask the Community - Castilla Restaurant and Tapas Bar

Are kids allowed?

Yes

Is there a Happy Hour and if so, what are the days and time?

It is everyday from 3:00 - 5:00P. Friday & Saturday it's also 9:00P to close. Happy Hour is only served in the bar area.

Will there be an option to make a reservation for Valentines Day?

No. They are not taking any reservation at all. It's more like first come first serve.

How is the paella?

It's amazing! It did not disappoint us and the seafood was very fresh and flavorful. You can choose the Paella with 2 or 3 or 4 people so the portion and the price would be different too. They have happy hours and the mushroom crochet was delicious!

Is HH only in the bar area or entire restaurant? Hoping to bring the kids to try.

Entire restaurant!

Is there any vegan options?

Yes! We have a variety of vegan options on our menu and can also make many items vegan as well. Just let your server know, and we will cater to your needs!

Where is this located in Bellevue Square Mall? Thanks for the assist!

It's outside the mall facing Bellevue way street.

Is there a Happy Hour?

Yes, there is. Everyday 3pm-6pm and 9pm-11pm.

The menu shows off many colorful fruit flavored carbonated beverages all of which sound delicious. Sometimes its really good and addicting. Other times ive been, ive gotten a few drinks that were flat and very bland flavor as if they skipped adding some of the listed flavors. I dont fully understand why. The concept is simple, they use soda and add a scoop of fruit pulp, a pump or so of syrup, and a sprinkle of dried fruit bits. I could be wrong, but I feel like i noticed they use large bottle of the carbonated drink to pour many drinks, but they go flat over time. Which means some people will get flat drinks. On my last visit i ordered several drinks. One was bland and flat.I tried to get them to remake my flat drink, but they warned me it would still be flat. I insisted as my other drinks we had taste better having more carbonated spark and sweet juicy flavors. They remade it using the same bottle of soda and it was just as flat and bland the second time so I just tossed the drink and sipped on my families drinks that tasted amazing. Idk if i would recommend this location as it seems to be so hit or miss. Maybe just make sure they use fresh soda and also that they give you all the mentioned flavors. Nine enticing creations make up their menu, all of them being fruity and vibrant in color. Ordering is very simple on the kiosk as you just select your drink and also choose an Adaptogen, which is their version of a health "boost". A few of the Adaptogens are free of cost (I selected the immunity one), but other more premium options will cost a dollar or two extra. According to the staff member, most of the Adaptogens are flavorless. All drinks are $7 each and only come in one size. I've visited on two different occasions and both times, my seltzer was ready in just a couple minutes. + PINEAPPLE BREEZE: A refreshing combination of pineapple purée, passion fruit purée, freeze-dried passion fruit and a thin slice of dried pineapple. Both fruity flavors were balanced; I could taste the bright pineapple and the juicy tropical passion fruit. The seltzer was crisp and perfect to enjoy in the Seattle sun. The freeze-dried passion fruit dissolved over time, strengthening the intensity of its flavor with each sip. + RUBY REFRESHER: This drink included cherry purée in addition to lychee. The menu stated that it also includes coconut, but the employee who helped us said that they have never added coconut to the drink, so I'd suggest that they update the description. Additionally, she said that they were out of the actual lychee fruit which would have otherwise been placed on top, so she substituted with some freeze-dried strawberries. This said, the drink strayed from what was displayed on the menu, but it was still good. The cherry flavor tasted very natural and the lychee flavoring brought a juicy sweetness. With this being located within the Lincoln Food Hall, these seltzers are somewhat of a splurge, but are the perfect addition to round out any meal.
