Valet parking is available for $5 but even then, the process of finding a spot was kinda hectic. It was a bit loud in the restaurant, but service was great - we were celebrating two of my friends' birthdays, and our server was kind and accommodating with providing us pancakes on the house that we could stick the candles into. Also came with whipped cream/butter and blueberries on the side. Phoebe's Benedict (3.5/5) - Featured ham, over easy eggs, biscuits, hollandaise, and green onion with hashbrown casserole. Overall thought the flavor was just okay, not anything amazing. - Decent portion size My meal came out to be $22 after everything, which is more on the expensive end for a meal that wasn't spectacular. I was only in Austin for 24 hours to attend my god daughter's graduation from her master's program at TSU. Since her graduation was at 10am, my family wanted to go out for brunch. This place came up on my search. I'm thankful that I was able to join the waitlist via Yelp because there was definitely a wait and after eating here, I understand why. When we pulled up, my mom said she probably would've driven right by under normal circumstances. lol But she trusts my Yelp recommendations. We were able to find a parking spot in the small lot, but I love that they actually offered complimentary valet service for the restaurant. The diner is a small cozy spot and I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to accommodate our party of 7 in a large booth in the rear of the restaurant. The service was great, but the food was even better. The french toast was absolutely delicious but HUGE! lol I ordered the one with berries for my godson to share with me. Needless to say, he ate the greater majority. I had the brisket benny as my primary meal. It was a lot of food. The brisket was tender and well seasoned, but I could have done without the barbecue sauce. The barbecue sauce really overpowered the meal and took away from what was best about it, in my opinion. This was my first successful Yelp reservation. We arrived by an Uber Waymo - also a first! Pretty trippy. I don't advise doing that in a less than sober state of mind . Upon arrival our seating position went from 2nd to 5th. Odd. There was a line 20 people deep so I felt good about putting my name in remotely. We walked in, I introduced myself, and they sat us immediately. The server greeted us as quickly as we sat. She took our drink order and had it on the table before we could think. I had a chicken & biscuit and my bride had Migas. The Migas were very flavorful. She really liked the Hatch Holindaise sauce and felt it was delicious. The potatoes lacked seasoning. The chicken was cooked perfectly. A crispy outer shell and a moist chicken meat. The biscuit was burnt but did add to the flavor. The potatoes were bland and needed salt. In all, I'd suggest adding some gravy or Holindaise to bring it all together. We sat out on the front patio. The weather was nice and the flys were a bit much. Now sitting on the porch did have its bonuses, it also had its setbacks. Such as, car horns being chirped in your ears or flys interrupting your bite or your waitress forgetting you are drinking coffee and might want another cup. I drank my glass of water, my glass of OJ and my cup of coffee and had not been refilled. In all, it is a very busy place, that serves good food, its staff just needs to be more attentive to their patrons. It's not the best restaurant in the US, but a pretty good place to eat. read more

This location is a cheery, sunny spot with a cute blue/green style. Although busy, as expected for a Sunday morning, the service was not lacking. We were sat within a few minutes and our waitress was timely with our drinks, food, and check. We ordered the Biscuits and Gravy, a Brisket Benny, and the Fried Chicken Biscuit with waters. I was excited by their menu because it included a variety of my favorite southern food such as Fried green tomatoes (which we will be back to try), and Biscuits and Gravy. Overall, I enjoyed the food, however I will say the Biscuits and Gravy was too dry for me and I prefer a flaky biscuit instead of the buttermilk squares. My Brisket Benny was fantastic and had an explosion of flavor, however my friend was slightly disappointed with the lack of flavor for the Fried Chicken Biscuit. That may be because the type of food in this dish does not have a lot of flavor on their own (egg, biscuit, fried chicken). The potatoes were crunchy the outside, soft on the inside. I also had a short stack of pancakes, which were yummy as well. My mom had a pimento cheese omelet and short stack of pancakes. She loved the pancakes and potatoes, and although she liked the omelet she thought it was a little too much pimento and needed something to offset the all around soft texture.
