The focaccia was hearty and held all the top and the sauce. Poached eggs were perfectly cooked. Sauce was buttery and creamy. The spinach was a nice add. I asked for the potato casserole and it did not disappoint. The corn muffins were fresh, they had apple butter and a savory pepper sauce which was not sweet. Was told this was a must-try brunch spot in Austin, and I'm glad I gave it a shot. Not the most amazing meal of my life, but pretty damn good! It was very busy due to the eclipse, but this restaurant lets you join the wait list online, which is great. I recommend this because we joined an hour before we got there, and we still had to wait 45 minutes upon arrival (but we also had a group of 6 which I'm sure contributed to the wait time). Service was good considering how busy they were. We got our drinks quickly! It did take about 30 minutes from when we sat before he was able to take our food order, BUT the food came out fast to make up for it. I ordered the cornbread muffins and the brisket Benedict. I'm kind of a Benedict snob, and this one wasn't bad. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the hollindaise. It was good, but a bit heavy on the lemon. The hashbrown casserole they serve with it was delicious! Prices were very reasonable and portion sizes were generous. Unbelievably good food and service. Our server Danny was wonderful. So friendly, and he didn't openly judge me when the second I sat down I asked for the Cheeky Monkey without missing a beat! The food? Goodness gracious. We're about to move to Austin and I already know my waistline will be expanding with such good food like the food at Phoebe's. We started off with their version of the Scotch Egg, the Cheeky Monkey. This appetizer borders on being just a little too much, but it never crosses that line; it was delicious. Perfectly crispy, salty, rich but never too rich. Oddly fresh for a deep fried dish! I got the Crab Cake Benedict, and I had no words TBH. Perfectly crispy exterior to a well-seasoned delicious interior of crab and food joy. I loved the jalapeño hollandaise a little too much and most likely will be found swimming in it at some point in the next 10 years. I understand that licking your plate isn't classy, but I thought about doing it, and I wouldn't have apologize for doing it either. It was our server Noey's first day. She was personable, excited and ready for a great start! Ooops! She accidentally put in regular French toast instead of the banana bread one. That's ok! She's new! But was fixed fast! I was so excited to try the country fried ribeye. I should've known better! Geezuz. And what sucks is I actually paid for the thing I took 3 bites of. One bite of a hard over deep fried potato...one bite of my undercooked asparagus and maybe actually 2 bits of that ribeye nightmare. So grizzly, couldn't even chew it. Lines super long but if you get on the resys - it's not too bad. When you check in, it's another 10-15 min wait until they actually seat you. Phoebes Diner is quite possibly the best breakfast food my husband and I have had in years. We are big on breakfast spots, so we love to try them. We needed some brunch and ended up stumbling upon Phoebes as we were driving around the area looking up recommended places. The parking is fairly difficult to deal with and was a bit stressful, but once we dealt with that we got to the restaurant and were dazzled. Service was nice and fast, we ate outside too. The small patio is covered pretty well so even though it had been raining on and off that day it was nice and dry. I was a bit surprised that the strawberries were cooked into the pancake! I wasn't expecting that but holy cow, these pancakes were fantastic. Everything you want your pancake flavor and texture to be. The potatoes were the best texture and so creamy/flavorful, bacon was so good I actually can't remember the last time I had bacon that was so thick and perfectly cooked. Even my toast was buttered perfectly! Our customer service was also great and check came in a timely manner/was easy to deal with. If you ever have the chance to come eat here, do it while you're very hungry. It will be epic! read more

Phoebe's is a top notch location for brunch in Austin. Always at the top of list for recommendations when needing a hearty breakfast option. My personal favorites are the Brisket Benny and whenever the special is a Fried Chicken and Waffles, that is a must. Being a very popular spot, it is essential to plan the visit around 20-30 before hand and check in online. They have a fantastic check in system with Yelp that allows you to hold your spot in line and check in once you arrive and save so much time on waiting. This location also offered a complimentary valet parking since the parking lot is very small. They do accept Venmo. This was my first time at this South Location, and the only reason I have docked a star is the circumstances of our visit to this location. After checking in online and waiting/commuting for about 30 minutes, the time waiting to sit was fine, but we ended up being sat in the back corner of the outdoor patio, closest to the gas station. As soon as the food was brought out, there were probably 10+ flies buzzing around the entire time landing on the food, drinks, and our legs. I know this is a risk with outdoor eating, but constantly having to shoo away flies put a damper on the brunch. Other than that everything was great. Customer service of Hosts and Waiter staff is always top notch. 5/5 stars for all my visits at the downtown location. Highly Recommend! read more

After hearing about the hype around this restaurant, I decided to stop by on a Saturday for brunch. Thankfully they have a Yelp waitlist and was able to get in line before leaving my home to save on the amount of time I had to wait there. I think if you can avoid a weekend before 12 pm you should try to do so because I still had to wait another 20 min. for a table (total 1.5 hours for a table). Food wise, I got the brisket burrito and a pancake. It was a nice sized burrito and while the egg was nice and fluffy and the brisket tender, I actually wasn't the biggest fan of the bbq sauce used on it and thought it was a bit too sweet for the combo. The side casserole was pretty unique but I wasn't in love with it since the potatoes tasted a tad bit undercooked imo. We had a very nice waitress and she was super attentive to our table- came around to refill my tea and water right when the ran out. Overall the ambiance of the location is a bit small but cozy and just what you'd expect of a diner. They have very limited parking but do have a complimentary valet parking available- and accept venmo as a tip if you don't have cash on hand. Overall, I think Phoebes has reasonable prices for above average breakfasts. I will look forward to trying more of their menu in the future! read more

I can not wait to go back to Phoebe's for another brunch experience. Now one of my secret weapons for handling brunch is using Yelp Waitlist. What's great about this is that you can literally get on their waitlist from the comfort of your bed (while still in pajamas and perhaps a not so fun hangover). I've been eyeing Phoebe's Diner since they've made the list of a few Yelp's top spots and they have a great brunch presence in the city. Upon arriving, my friend and I checked in at the station and we had about 15 more minutes. We grabbed a few drinks at the bar and enjoyed them outside. Now we were told we could enjoy them outside so we did which to be fair makes the best sense since there isn't enough space to idle inside. We were seated outside and we had no issue with it since they have plenty of fans and misters. We started with a carafe of grapefruit mimosas (they have a few juice options) for the table. Now I totally get why everyone recommends their cornbread. HOLY F*DGE are they delicious. I want a jar of their apple butter alone. Service here was some of the best and I loved the energy of the team. I don't necessarily think this place is ideal for large sittings so perhaps keep your brunch squad at a max of four people. My main dish was their biscuits and gravy with a side of fried chicken. Totally devoured it and would 10/10 get it again. Staff: Friendly, we were early so there was no wait. Seated right away. This was nice because by the time we were done there was a line and a bunch of people outside. Service: great and accommodating service. Food came out just as we liked it. Coffee was served, nice and strong. Food: I ordered the brisket benny, packed full of flavor. Definitely heavy for breakfast so go easy if you're not trying to fall asleep on your car ride home. It's that yummy! My kiddos both got the chocolate chip pancake it's huge, had I had known how big it was they'd share one. My oldest said, he loved his breakfast and the tater tots it came with was crispy and good. Well I live up in North Austin domain area and they have a location that's located on Gracy Farms Lane and it's been there for roughly about a year and a half, and it still has not open. Amongst entering the building the service was quick fast and courteous and very friendly wait staff. Now let's get to the main reason of me. Driving this far to try this location out. The menu has options that would tempt and foodies taste buds. I settled on getting the shrimp and grits breakfast along with two over medium eggs. The presentation of the food was okay, the texture and the taste were good. Bye but the one that I noticed about the main courses. They lacked flavor and seasoning. The shrimp tasted very bland in the eggs. Taste the exact same way. To tell the truth, the shrimp and grits combination came in a way that I've never seen it before. Especially when you specialize in eating shrimps and grits normally at a good Cajun restaurant. The ingredients were of abundance some of them I didn't even know what they were. But it didn't take away from the texture of the food.. These folks are genuine as all hell, which leads me to believe they are well taken care of, by their employer, and, equally, genuinely care for one another, as coworkers. Listen up, employers! Our 2014 boys soccer team of about 30 people decided to come to this restaurant for breakfast. There were no reservations made ahead of time. When I called ahead for accommodations, without hesitation the host was quick to welcome our team. Once we arrived, our table was ready and the servers were prepared for us. Their fast action to prepare for our large party made the overall experience great! The service was as quick as it can get with such a large group. Once the checks were split, it was done efficiently and accurately. As far as the food, all the adults enjoyed their various food choices. The menu offered different options to satisfy each of us. The kiddos, not so much. Some of the kids complained that their chicken strips were too dry and had little chicken. Other than that, all the food was great The restaurant itself was cozy, large enough so that we are not on top of each other but small enough to make this restaurant a special treat.
