Banana bread French toast with eggs and sausage

This place is amazing. We had such a wonderful breakfast experience from the quick service (especially on a busy weekend morning), and the food was the perfect temperature. I could not believe the size of the side of bacon (it is a single strip of bacon that I swear weighs nearly a half-pound on it's own...it is more like a steak of bacon LOL). They have boozy drinks for breakfast here too that are tasty! The place is incredibly clean and is clearly a good spot for family breakfast!

The cornbread muffins are a MUST for cornbread lovers!! They were tasty, soft, and the jellies/butter that it came with were also yummy. Surprisingly, it was my favorite dish because ... The brisket benny was very disappointing. The hash brown casserole was terrible. It had zero flavor. It was a ball of mush. The brisket was good! It carried the plate. However, the biscuit really brought the overall dish down. It was my least favorite Benedict dish that I've had, personally. Nevertheless, because the cornbread muffins and brisket were good, I would certainly go back! I'm sure there is something else on the menu that I would love (as I've heard great things about the diner) but unfortunately, this visit was below expectations.

Graham is a chill and efficient server. Everytime we come here it's excellent they serve sodas by the can so there's no fountain stuff in your drinks.

What a nice surprise! This was our first visit to Phoebe's and we were impressed! I expected it to be a greasy diner, but ths was really good breakfast. We found parking in the lot, but they do offer valet. We put our name in and waited about 15 minutes before being seated on the patio. Even though it's hot out, the patio stays comfortable with the shades and fans. I had the famous crab cake benedict: (GF) 2 crispy lump crab cakes, poached eggs, hollandaise, green onion, sauteed asparagus, and my fiance had the brisket benny: Chopped BBQ brisket, buttermilk biscuits, over easy eggs, hollandaise, and BBQ sauce. Served with hash brown casserole and green onion. Great service and a great meal (huge portions). We'll be back!

Phenomenal!! No better word for this place. This place was packed and the service didn't skip a beat. The wait was not long either. The food? Phenomenal!! It was so good. From the hash brown casserole to the sausage gravy on the biscuits. Definitely what we were looking for in a breakfast spot. Would 10000000% go back and you should try if you haven't. It's so good.

I must admit that I was a bit skeptical about this tiny restaurant in an older strip mall bearing a big blue sign that said "Diner" on it. But I enjoy new experiences and menus with eclectic dishes. The menu had few choices for breakfast and I was unsure why it was suggested as a breakfast place. It's actually a good place to eat any time of day! The beautifully decorated patio provided the perfect welcome into their modestly decorated air conditioned restaurant and bar. When I say bar, it's more like a 1950s bar that you can sit at and have a meal at. Although drinks and meals were offered any time of day! The waitress was pleasant and helpful in suggesting add ons with my meal. But being a purist, I wanted to try it as intended. The food arrived in the normal amount of time. When I first saw my mozzarella omelette I was a little surprised! It didn't look anything like what it was described as! Oh well! I thought. Let's give it a try! My taste buds were happily amazed! Could this omelette smothered in mushroom gravy, green "pesto" and bread crumbs be the best omelette I've ever had?! The mushroom tomato gravy was so smooth! Along with the cilantro avocado topping. That tasted more like pesto, gave it the perfect zing! I had wished I the had ordered some toast to dip in the sauce. I could have done without the bread crumbs. But they were easily swept to the side. The amount of mozzarella cheese in this omelette led me to believe it was more of an omelette lasagna than a plain old omelette. This place is definitely a must if you are visiting Austin!

This was an awesome breakfast! We got a table right away and our server took our order right away. I got the Chile Rellenos and it was fantastic! The Chile was cooked beautifully and the fillings were gooey goodness! The coffee here was flavorful and I drank a bunch! Well worth the stop! Great food, great service!

The place is really cute and the customer service was 5/5. I got the Chile Relleno w/ green chorizo with fruit. This was really different but a good different. Scrabbled eggs stuffed in there and fried. Everything worked really well with each other but I could have shared this plate with someone. Those potatoes were delicious and the perfect amount of crispy. Chicken Fried Ribeye with hashbrown casserole. The asparagus was seasoned so well that my boyfriend discovered he really likes asparagus. He devoured his chicken friend ribeye. The biscuits and gravy were ok but it's not something that we would order again. We wanted to try it out to see if we would like it but it's a no for us. Definitely recommend and don't forget to join the waitlist so you don't have to wait long before you're seated.

Food: Deep Fried French Toast sounded like it would be amazing ... and it was! Omg I added bananas on top and wow, this is some of the best French toast in Austin. I genuinely loved it so much. I also got the Cafe du Monde Vietnamese Coffee because it intrigued me. I grew up with Cafe du Monde coffee, so I knew about the chicory flavor. But with this style/flavoring, omg wow... so good!! Gimme an Iv of that coffee!! Service: My server was super friendly! I thought she was sweet and funny. Ambiance: Super chill diner vibe with TVs on, big bar with AustinFC flag and lots of extra coffee to be made! It was really nice there.

I want to start by saying this was an Uber Eats order, so my experience may have been a tad different if I'd been there in person. I ordered 2 Chicken Biscuits. It typically comes with a fried chicken breast on top of an egg, cheese, and a biscuit. It also has potatoes and some type of jalapeño jam on the side. The chicken was seasoned but still missing something. I wish they'd also maybe cooked it just a little longer. The breading looked perfectly cooked but tasted like it needed a little more time. When I placed my order I called the store to ask if they could not put cheese on either of the meals. The nice host who answered the phone said of course. Needless to say, although "no cheese" was written on my receipt, there was still cheese on both. On the first one, I was able to get most of the egg separated from the cheese. The taste was basic, would have been better if I could have had it with the biscuit. Couldn't taste the first biscuit bc the cheese was melted on. Luckily, on the second one, I was able to just take the cheese off, sacrificing bits on the biscuit lol. The potatoes were basic. They had little to no seasoning. The Jam! It was definitely a saving grace for everything. It was kinda similar to chutney. I tasted it with each item and it definitely made it better. Is this a place I'll eat regularly, probably not. Will I eat here again, I'm not opposed to trying it again.

Came Saturday morning and was able to grab a seat at the bar. They defiantly are popular for both dine in and to go orders. Went with the French toast and badass bacon and eggs. French toast is massive so tool 1/2 home, nice and crispy and soft center. The Badass bacon and eggs was simple yet good. The hash brown casserole was great at first but then become kinda bland. The eggs tasted a lot like the casserole sooooo maybe next time I'll do over easy eggs. Bacon nice and crispy just how I like. Coffee was also good and service was great. Sitting at the bar you get a front row seat of all that's going on. Restaurant was clean and seemed to be well maintained.

Badass Bacon and Eggs + Green Chorizo Shrimp and Grits, Cheeky Monkey, classic Bloody Mary and a grapefruit mimosa
    Misty D.

We had the Badass Bacon and Eggs, Green Chorizo Shrimp and Grits, a Cheeky Monkey, a classic Bloody Mary and a grapefruit mimosa. Everything was great, very fresh, we didn't have to wait long to be seated or for our food to arrive. The service was excellent, the team is upbeat and they all seem happy. The ambiance was nice and casual - it's like an up scale diner. The bacon was thicc and melt-in-your-mouth status. The Cheeky Monkey was not our favorite item, but it was unique. My husband got the shrimp and grits and said it was "delightful". I'm not sure that I've heard him use that word to describe a dish before. We looked around at other people's food and it all looked real good. We will be back for more!

The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. My daughter and I both ordered the chicken fried chicken, and she substituted the collard greens for mac and cheese. The sausage gravy served with the chicken fried chicken was a little unexpected, but I actually enjoyed the subtle kick of spice it had. The collard greens weren't for me, but that's more of a personal preference since I've never been a fan. The mac and cheese, however, felt like it was missing something. Maybe it was the blend of cheeses, but it wasn't the classic, ooey-gooey diner-style mac and cheese we were hoping for. My brother ordered the chicken and waffles. The waffles had a fermented aroma and tangy flavor that caught us off guard. After speaking with the manager, she explained that they're made with a sourdough batter. While that may appeal to some people, it just wasn't his favorite. Overall, we had a good experience thanks to the outstanding service and welcoming atmosphere. The food simply didn't match our personal tastes. That said, the restaurant was absolutely packed, so they're clearly doing something right. I would still recommend giving 24 Diner a try because everyone's palate is different, and their unique flavors may be exactly what you're looking for.

I do appreciate the amount of pickle slices on this burger, but this heavy hand was also responsible for the mustard levels! I think i'll be tasting mustard for a couple days. The bun was too soft and barely held up to the task. If I do give this place another shot, it will be minus mustard for sure.

My biggest issue started before I even got seated. There is a QR code that you're required to use to join the waitlist/queue, but this is not clearly communicated on their website. You essentially have to arrive at the restaurant and figure it out once you're there. For a restaurant that is known for having long waits and high traffic, I feel like this information should be clearly stated online so people can plan accordingly. Once I joined the queue, I was number 43 and ended up waiting about an hour and a half before being seated. I understand that popular restaurants can have long wait times, but the lack of transparency about how the process works made the experience more frustrating than it needed to be. Once inside, the ambiance was actually quite quaint and charming. That said, considering how much traffic this restaurant gets, I was surprised by how limited the space is. I honestly think expanding the property would make a huge difference, although I understand that may not be entirely within their control. One thing I will give them major credit for is the menu. Online, the selection makes it look somewhat limited, but once you're there, they actually have 50+ food options, so there is plenty to choose from. That was definitely a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, my entrée was disappointing. I ordered a shredded beef taco with salsa and substituted a side salad. The beef was extremely tender, but unfortunately, it was also very dry. The salad was another disappointment because the vinaigrette was honestly not good. I don't think I've ever had a vinaigrette that I actively disliked until this meal. Thankfully, my fiancé had a much better experience. He ordered an enchilada and said it was one of the top five enchiladas he's ever had, so clearly there are some standout dishes on the menu. That definitely made me curious about trying something different if I ever return. I also really enjoyed that they offer hibiscus tea. I was very happy to see it on the menu, although I personally think it would be better served on its own rather than incorporated into one of their mixed drinks. The drink itself was just okay, but the hibiscus flavor was great. Overall, I can see why this place has become an Austin staple, but I think the experience could be improved significantly by making the waitlist process much clearer online and by improving the consistency of some of the food. The menu has a lot of potential, and clearly, some dishes are excellent! Unfortunately, mine just wasn't one of them.

The first time it was the day after a snow storm and nothing else was really open. We were staying at another hotel down the street and decided to walk around town and this is one of the few places that were open so it was a great chance to come in and try out their food. Our waitress was amazing and very hospitable. It was a cool diner setup that's also connected to a hotel so it made sense where this was probably their only place for food but we were very thankful that they were open. I got that duck confit and waffle. It ended up being very delicious. And it sounds amazing too. And of course the waffle is in the shape of Texas. I also ordered coffee and our waitresses amazing about refilling it every time we're running low. Definitely recommend coming here if you're looking for great dining experience here in Austin. This place was so good we came back again the following year we were in town.

We didn't know what to expect based on the reviews but were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and fast service! Over the course of our hotel stay, we had the opportunity to try a variety of breakfast items off of the menu, and everything was solid. I absolutely loved the spicy avocado toast (to which I added scrambled eggs on top) and the breakfast burrito! All the ingredients on the avocado toast worked together perfectly from the pickled red onions to the garlic chili oil, and the spicy chorizo + crispy potatoes in the breakfast burrito was to die for. My husband enjoyed his dishes as well -- breakfast sando and chia seed pudding.
