I had wanted to try the bahn mi for a while but once I walked in after a cold day i changed my mind and had to go for the bun bo hue ofc. The flavor of the broth was strong and spicy, but i'm gonna say 4 stars, maybe even 3.5 because it was pricey($18) for the amount of meat it had. It only comes with beef slices and ham but not many pieces, and the side veggies portion was small too. The overall portion is great and has lots of noodles, but I think bbh should be a bit meatier yk. The thai tea was excellent tho super strong tea flavor and well balanced, you can adjust sweetness level too. Overall it was a good experience and hoping to edit this review with a bahn mi soon, will come back! Service is awesome, and space is small but cozy almost like cafe ambiance. Feels like you're getting a home cooked meal since you can see everything! It's on commonwealth so very walkable but if you want to drive its street parking lottery.
My true rating would be a 3.5/3.75. Great option if you're looking for a quick, casual meal in Boston. Ordering was easy. You order at the counter, find a seat, and the food comes out pretty quickly. We had the summer rolls and the vegan ramen. The summer rolls were fresh and flavorful, and the peanut sauce was especially good. The vegan ramen was also enjoyable, with good-quality ingredients and a satisfying broth. My only real critique is that I wish there were more options to add heat. I tend to like my noodle soups on the spicier side, and I would have loved more chili oil, hot sauce, or other spicy condiments to customize the flavor. There was also SO much broccoli and that really took over the soup, I wish there was a bit more variability or balance in the veggies. Overall, the food was tasty, the quality was solid, and the service was fast.
Really terrific food here - we ordered takeout beef pho and banh mi and both were really exceptional. The only thing I'd say is that this is a bit pricier than some of the other Vietnamese places I've been to, but it's definitely a place I'll be back to often. Beef Pho ($15.95) - The broth here is great - so nice and savory. You can tell that it simmers for a really long time to get all of that flavor from the bones. It has a bit of a sweet note to it as well which is a bit more than I'm used to, but I really liked it still. There was a good amount of meat, and the whole soup experience was great, especially for takeout. They did skimp on the bean sprouts and herbs with takeout though - it was a pretty small amount of veggies, but still a really solid pho. Banh Mi ($9.75) - Yes, the price is a bit high for this one as well but the size was HUGE. The pickled veggies were perfectly sweet and tart, and the cilantro added a nice freshness with the cucumbers. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the balance of flavors here was really spot on. And, like I said, it was HUGE. Definitely not the cheapest Vietnamese food I've had, but also absolutely delicious - I will be back!
Solid pho place on Commonwealth by the BU campus. The two items I've gotten here, Fish ball pho and lemongrass pork vermicelli, are flavorful and definitely satisfy my Vietnamese food cravings. I want to come back to try their banh mi and their drink options. Convenient for take out and you could dine in as they have a couple tables but plan for extra time to wait if you come during the weekend or before an event at Agganis Arena. Their space is smaller and it can get quite busy but it's well managed.
Amazing food! Every dish we have tried is great but the pork chop rice plate and Special Pho are a favorite. Bahn Mis also need a little shout out. I have been going to the same Vietnamese restaurant in the Bay Area since I was a kid and have tried many many different places throughout the country and especially the east coast since going to college and moving out here and this is the only place I have tried that comes close to my place back home. Even took my parents here during a visit right after they returned stateside from a vacation in Vietnam and they loved it. Don't hesitate to try this place out I can't recommend it enough!
Everything was pretty good you just have to tweek your order. Also got side of chicken broth not sure if it was from scratch didn't ask as we got it to go got a cold cut banh mi which was solid. I shall return. Use to buy banh mis when they were at the food court in super 88 up the block.
Not sure I would describe this place a hole-in-the-wall, like some reviews say. Maybe it's because I've been to more run-down places than this in the past LOL, but Pho Viet's is a small restaurant with lots to offer. They have a few tables and chairs for dining in, and whenever I drop in, there are always lots of people eating inside. I like to order carry out from here because of how close it is to home. Service is fairly quick and they have a very large menu. What I appreciate the most is their generous portions. I can get almost two meals out of one order, so it's worth the almost $20 for an entree!
The pho was delish! Despite being busy, the restaurant didn't feel overcrowded and the food came out extremely fast. On top of that, the portions were huge for a very reasonable price. This is a great spot for warm, comforting vibes and to grab a tasty bowl of ramen with friends or family!
Stopped by on a rainy day and found the bun bo hue to be a great pick-me-up. It was very comforting and portions were generous. Very mildly spicy. The beef tendon was very tender and I appreciated the variety of meats in this dish. Food came out quick and service was friendly. There are plenty of tables in the back of the restaurant.
Just a short walk away from Agganis Arena and accessible via the green line! Got the special beef noodle soup and it was delicious and a large serving size for it's cost. The amount of meat was good and the broth was very clean and had a depth of flavor. Didn't take a picture of the skewer appetizers but they were 3 large sized skewers which was decent for it's price. Not the best location for big parties since there's an assortment of tables inside that can maybe fit 25 people? Once it hit 6pm it got slammed so definitely try to get there sooner rather than later if you want to sit down. If you sit towards the front of the restaurant, you will get a draft whenever someone opens the door which will be pretty often (this place seemed very popular w door dash etc). Will definitely come back here again, possibly Everytime I go to an event at Agganis?
So glad this place got their own space out here - they used to be in the food court across the street . What an upgrade! And what a cute cool and cozy space inside! Very cute interior art on the counter wall depicting scenes from South Asia, and the brick wall with the benches and greenery with potted plants. They did a great job with the decor incorporating the Vietnamese culture and roots in here. Very nice! It's a long space that leads to a few tables at the far end. Seating for about 20-25 people. Banh Mi sandwiches were great we got chicken and pork plus a few extra for next days lunch. Yummy! Tasty, filling and fresh as always! Go here if you haven't already!
I have had the pleasure of going here and I think Pho Viet's has some great Vietnamese food around the Boston area! Granted my experience is slightly limited because I have only been there once and did not order a lot of stuff, so if I have the chance to return, I would like to try this spot again. Phở Gà was probably the best I have had almost anywhere in the United States, and the fact that the chicken is hand-pulled makes the texture extra nice! The broth is very well-made which of course enhances the experience of eating any type of phở! I also had the vegetable & tofu egg fried rice. The rice was quite mediocre with no distinct flavor or seasoning, probably because the vegetables on top of the rice should be the main part of this dish, and it shows. The dish felt like vegetables placed on top of plain rice and that was it. The vegetables also lacked seasoning, which was unexpected. The stark contrast of these two dishes that I have had is leading me to give this place a 4 star. I think part of it might be because others don't really come here to order what I have ordered, the Rau Cải Xào Cơm (Vegetable & Tofu Egg Fried Rice), so maybe I will order something more in line with where their popularity lies next time.

I have walked past this place several times but had never been. I was craving some good pho one night and so I decided to drop by to check it out. I was really impressed with the meal and the service. Both were excellent and I'd definitely recommend Pho Viet's. In order to get the proper experience, I figured I would order the special beef pho. I also tried the shrimp and pork spring rolls because I hadn't seen that before and it seemed pretty unique. The pho was just what I wanted, it came in a huge bowl with a good amount of everything (noodles, meat, and bean sprouts). The only thing against it was that I thought the broth could use just a bit more flavor, but it was still good. The spring rolls were awesome though, and they're what tipped the rating up to a 5 star for me. Something about the combo of everything together, from the shrimp and pork to the peanut sauce was just SO good. The servers were also very nice and courteous. I'll definitely be going back to satisfy my pho cravings in the future. read more
Pho Viet's is great, just great. While looking for a place to get banh mi for take out that wasn't ridiculously overpriced I found it through Yelp. Decided to try the grilled beef banh mi after reading all the reviews and they were all spot on. The beef was juicy, bread was crunchy, and the vegetables were pickled perfectly. Went back a second time to try the lemon grass chicken with vermicelli that was also delicious. Not my favorite when compared to the banh mi, but it was still delicious and a lot of food for the price! If you're looking for a banh mi outside of Chinatown or Dorchester this is the place to go and is also my new go to spot when the craving hits near home! read more

Pho Viet's is a must if you are in the area of Boston University! The food is authentic and delicious Vietnamese. The Special Beef Pho is flavorful and comforting. The Chicken Curry with Noodles is and excellent spicy alternative if you're Pho'd out. There are tons of hardworking and helpful staff that will make your experience great. Don't hesitate trying out Pho Viet's. read more
Okay, that was just ridiculously good. I've been craving banh mi and eggrolls, and knowing I was going to be in the area, I searched Yelp for options and found Pho Viet's as a highly-rated option. And justifiably so. I ordered the chicken banh mi and the Vietnamese Spring Rolls. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all (I was right), but I didn't care. I wanted these dishes. Ordering was easy, and everything was clearly made fresh. There was a family of three who has been visiting for the last two years, and the gentleman taking orders recognized them. There is open seating in the Food Court but not many seats. I wanted to head home anyway. The Banh Mi was chock full of love, where love = delicious chicken, fresh, pickled vegetables, special sauce, and a fantastic crunchy baguette. I probably ate half and I enjoyed every bite. The Vietnamese Spring Rolls were awesome and exactly what I had been craving. The order came with three rolls. I ate one. It also came with some sort of rice noodle salad with iceberg, cucumber, and mint, and, I'm embarrassed to say, I just didn't know what to do with it! In terms of COVID, everyone I saw working there was wearing masks & gloves and there was a shield up between the customer and the server. If you are in the area and want some really great food, I definitely recommend Pho Viet's. read more
This place is so great! The people there are always so nice and the food is very tasty! It's a pretty good price for their pho and it comes with a good amount of meat and noodles. Only downside is their viet subs keep going up in price (currently $6). When you eat there you need to bring the bowls back to them! read more

we ordered Curry chicken, beef vermicelli, banh mi & house special pho! CURRY CHICKEN is so shockingly good, was not expecting this from a Vietnamese restaurant but this really blew our minds away! Had a slight hint of Singapore Laksa which really warmed our hearts! There are also hints of pumpkin in it which was a good touch! Noodles were not soaking up the soup so I'd recommend getting rice/bread with this! Beef vermicelli was good. Well seasoned meat with a gracious serving of vermicelli. Outstanding taste and flavouring. 10/10 for the pho. The soup was flavourful. Noodles were cooked just right. Grass jelly drink was really good!! Coffee was very strong, we loved it' read more

Used to love their food so much but now they are on the main street their food have became super salty. So much MSG that made me super thirsty afterwards. The beef tai in the pho became strips that's really chewy too. Not cut in the right direction. It's difficult to find a place to park your car too if you are picking up. The soups became msg soups instead. read more

This establishment has never failed to gift me with the best cuisine I've ever had in my life. I haven't visited Boston in quite a few years and cried because they weren't at their old location just to find out they are in an amazing NEW location with a very comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Everyone there still remains to be incredibly kind and professional. I guarantee any dish you decide to order will be a delicious choice. I eat here pretty much every day at this point. It's casual, inexpensive, high quality, authentic Vietnamese food. It's a pretty extensive menu and pretty much everything that I've tried has been great. Pho Dac Biet (Special Beef Noodle Soup) - Fire, this has been my go to brunch lately. Whenever I used to eat pho I would always drown my broth in sriracha, but their broth is just so good to me that I don't even bother. The bits of tendon are cooked really well too. Mi Ga (Chicken Egg Noodle Soup) - Also fire, this is my go to when I'm sick and need some chicken noodle soup. The chicken is never dry and egg noodles are always perfectly cooked. Vietnamese soul food. Beef Banh Mi (Beef sandwich) - What do you think? Fire. To be honest there was one instance where I ordered the sandwich and I think it had been lying around for a while because the bread was a little stale and the beef was dry, but the other times I ordered it the bread was on point and beef was hot and juicy. This plus a Vietnamese Iced Expresso with Condensed Milk is a perfect 10 dollar lunch. Beef Luc Lac - SUPER FIRE. Very underrated dish here. Cubes of beef, super juicy and tender with an amazingly flavorful fried rice. Plus it's a huge portion, it can easily be eaten as 2 meals. This is an amazing family run establishment, the people are so friendly, I'm so glad I love their food because it makes me so happy to support them. Obviously in Boston there are a lot of Vietnamese people and so there's a lot of restaurants, and maybe the food quality can't compare to one of the more popular places in Dorchester, but for what it is, I think Pho Viet is amazing. read more

Vietnamese restaurants always seem to have the most amusing names (Pho King is a personal favorite), but Pho Viet is really just phoning it in. It's kind of like opening a baby name book and choosing the very first name you see (Aaron) and calling it a day. Anyways... Fast, generously portioned, and delicious. What more do you need? Yes, it's in a food court so adjust your expectations accordingly. But that also means you can walk up to Kung Fu Tea right after your meal (whether that's a blessing or a curse remains uncertain). I had the Bun Rieu, and admittedly it was my first time having it so I can't speak to the authenticity, but I really enjoyed it. There wasn't a lot of crab meat to speak of though, which was slightly disappointing. The spring rolls and Vietnamese coffee were also on point. read more
Located inside the super 88 market food court . This one have been standing and surviving for a long time as I see many vendors come and go over the years. The place is a family operated and it's pretty organized with pictures of the items so it's easy to know what you like to order. Mostly students that comes here and workers in the area. There's parking lot right outside so it's convenient. Food was decent but not great , quality could have been better since it's operated to cater to mostly the students. It's affordable and wouldn't break your wallet . Good place to sit down and eat. read more

I ordered the Grilled Short Ribs with Rice $8.65 ($9.25 after tax), and it came with a goodly portion of well marinated short ribs topping the rice, and some nice crisp pickled daikon and carrots. read more
$3.90 including tax for a grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich. I'm stuffed. Really cheap considering the inclusion of pork and the size of the baguette! By far one of the cheapest and most filling lunch/dinner option out there. Grilled pork is succulent, juicy, with a bit of fat attached. I love how with every bite off the banh mi, I'm able to get in a piece of pork. They're not skimpy. The baguette is done well- not hard as stone, soft enough without straining the jaw with the perfect crunch. The slices of jalapenos in there was a delightful surprise, I love its pang of spiceyness. With $3.90, the banh mi is slipped in a wax coated bag, placed in a plastic bag with napkins to go. How thoughtful and convenient. read more
BUN BO HUE & BANH MI. So good!! I am so glad Pearl T. showed us this food court! Every time I come here I want to try something different, but it's so hard to because I can't resist the bun bo hue! If you've never had it before, it's like a spicy beef noodle soup. The noodles are different from pho.. they're a little bigger. I like the spiciness level too. It can be a little spicy for people who don't like spiciness, but if you're a medium kind of person, I think this will do just fine for you. I really like their banh mi too! Especially the pork one :D Well.. actually I've only had the chicken and pork one, and I didn't like the chicken one. I'm going to try the ham one next time, which I heard is a cold cut combination. The grilled pork is so flavorful, but it's probably the fatty parts, which makes it so good. They add pickled radishes and carrots and jalapenos and a buttery/mayo spread that is awesome. You need to get it. And its less than $4..WUUUT? Better bang for your buck than any Subway sandwich read more
Portions - huge. Flavor - on point. Price - nothing you have to sweat. Guys, Pho Viet is the ultimate package. Have had the Bun Bo Hue - this is usually my go-to instead of pho because I like spice and heavier broth. Was not disappointed. Had enough to take home for a second meal. After having had the Duck Noodle Soup because 1) I love duck & 2) the picture looked so good - stick to the Vietnamese food. The duck was a little dry. Tricked by my eyeballs. That being said, the Pho Ga (The Boy's go-to), is really good as well. Great chicken broth. Settled into Allston now, will likely be hitting up Pho Viet a lot and will update this review as I try more of the menu. Stay tuned! This is a magical place with magical foods. Grab a Bahn Mi or a huge bowl of pho and fix your soul up. Then wander around the grocery store portion for an hour and a half and learn all the things about stuff you probably haven't even seen before. Love this whole food connection/ supermarket combo jobby. Seriously tho the Bahn Mi is next level and at $6 it's basically free and you're an idiot for not going there. Stop being an idiot. Free super uneven and mildly infuriating parking lot- but it really just becomes a part of the experience. Bahn mi. Go. Now. read more

We ordered Pho Viet's to go. The special beef pho (with egg noodles and no tripe) was delicious. The broth, while light at the beginning of the meal, is rich with flavor by the end, as it soaks in the flavors of the meats and any sauces you add to it. Not only is the food delicious, but it is huge for a great price. Mine lasted me two meals, although for those with larger appetites it will be one full meal. When you eat there, it comes in one huge bowl. When taken to go, the broth and meats come in a tall plastic container that you pour into the to-go bowl they give you of noodles. They also provide a bag with bean sprouts and herbs to top your pho. The amount given is enough to fill the bowl a little over two times, making it so much bigger than most places. And at $9-10 per order of pho, it is a great deal. Will definitely return. Next time, I hope to try the banh mi or lemongrass chicken. read more

New location but same great food. I've had takeout a few times since they've opened. The banh mi (ham special) are delicious and the rice plates (pork and short rib) are great for take out. The pho are good but would be better if you could eat it right there. The staff are friendly and helpful. read more
