Pho Viet's is great, just great. While looking for a place to get banh mi for take out that wasn't ridiculously overpriced I found it through Yelp. Decided to try the grilled beef banh mi after reading all the reviews and they were all spot on. The beef was juicy, bread was crunchy, and the vegetables were pickled perfectly. Went back a second time to try the lemon grass chicken with vermicelli that was also delicious. Not my favorite when compared to the banh mi, but it was still delicious and a lot of food for the price! If you're looking for a banh mi outside of Chinatown or Dorchester this is the place to go and is also my new go to spot when the craving hits near home! read more

Okay, that was just ridiculously good. I've been craving banh mi and eggrolls, and knowing I was going to be in the area, I searched Yelp for options and found Pho Viet's as a highly-rated option. And justifiably so. I ordered the chicken banh mi and the Vietnamese Spring Rolls. I knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all (I was right), but I didn't care. I wanted these dishes. Ordering was easy, and everything was clearly made fresh. There was a family of three who has been visiting for the last two years, and the gentleman taking orders recognized them. There is open seating in the Food Court but not many seats. I wanted to head home anyway. The Banh Mi was chock full of love, where love = delicious chicken, fresh, pickled vegetables, special sauce, and a fantastic crunchy baguette. I probably ate half and I enjoyed every bite. The Vietnamese Spring Rolls were awesome and exactly what I had been craving. The order came with three rolls. I ate one. It also came with some sort of rice noodle salad with iceberg, cucumber, and mint, and, I'm embarrassed to say, I just didn't know what to do with it! In terms of COVID, everyone I saw working there was wearing masks & gloves and there was a shield up between the customer and the server. It's my favorite Viet spot in Boston! Pho Viet's set up a perfect example of a modern Vietnamese cafe. It is clean, chic, quick, with kind greetings and mostly importantly, delicious food! My go-to is spicy beef noodle soup ( bun Bo hue) , lemongrass chicken leg with rice, special spring roll with pork, and Bánh mì. Broth of bun bo hue is incredibly tangy and beefy, loaded with tender beef tenderloin , brisket, and ham. I LOVE the meats so much and it's hard for me to pick a winner. The peanut dipping sauce of special spring roll is divine! I wish they could retail their own brand of this peanut sauce. The Banh mi (sandwiches) are light yet flavorful. I love the Viet style baguette loaded with tender meats and buttery sauce, with thin, crisp crust and soft, airy texture. The prices are low; however the portion sizes are big. The inflation that is going on all over the world is not even noticeable here. I used to visit Pho Viet's on weekly basis. It's always reliable and delicious, like our home kitchen. People here treated me like an old friend, although we did not know each other's names. I moved to another state this week but still miss Pho Viet's. YES pho Viet's. This is a contender for two awards in my mind, best Vietnamese food in the Boston area and best restaurant in the Super 88 food court. My go-to here is the Bun Bo Hue. They make it so good, spicy, flavorful, delicious - and somehow really light and makes you feeling satisfied and wanting even more of it once you're done with the bowl. I think most times this is what I get here. I've also had the vermicelli with pork chop recently which was delicious. Really fresh and tender pork with perfectly cooked noodles on the side, with fresh vegetables and sauce to spice up this dish. I'm embarrassed (who am I kidding ... proud) that last time I was here I ordered the Bun Bo Hue and the pork chop dish just for myself planning to take some home to my wife, but I ended up eating all of it myself. It's a pretty extensive menu and pretty much everything that I've tried has been great. Pho Dac Biet (Special Beef Noodle Soup) - Fire, this has been my go to brunch lately. Whenever I used to eat pho I would always drown my broth in sriracha, but their broth is just so good to me that I don't even bother. The bits of tendon are cooked really well too. Mi Ga (Chicken Egg Noodle Soup) - Also fire, this is my go to when I'm sick and need some chicken noodle soup. The chicken is never dry and egg noodles are always perfectly cooked. Vietnamese soul food. Beef Banh Mi (Beef sandwich) - What do you think? Fire. To be honest there was one instance where I ordered the sandwich and I think it had been lying around for a while because the bread was a little stale and the beef was dry, but the other times I ordered it the bread was on point and beef was hot and juicy. This plus a Vietnamese Iced Expresso with Condensed Milk is a perfect 10 dollar lunch. Beef Luc Lac - SUPER FIRE. Very underrated dish here. Cubes of beef, super juicy and tender with an amazingly flavorful fried rice. Plus it's a huge portion, it can easily be eaten as 2 meals. This is an amazing family run establishment, the people are so friendly, I'm so glad I love their food because it makes me so happy to support them. Obviously in Boston there are a lot of Vietnamese people and so there's a lot of restaurants, and maybe the food quality can't compare to one of the more popular places in Dorchester, but for what it is, I think Pho Viet is amazing. read more

Yes, it's in a food court so adjust your expectations accordingly. But that also means you can walk up to Kung Fu Tea right after your meal (whether that's a blessing or a curse remains uncertain). 4.5 stars This is my place to get Bun Bo Hue in Boston (and to introduce it to friends who haven't had it before) outside of Dorchester! Bun Bo Hue isn't sold at a good portion of Vietnamese restaurants because it isn't as widely popular as pho, but it's definitely a favorite Vietnamese staple and one that is harder to make at home the right way. While it could use *just* a little more deep flavor to reach mom-made levels, it's definitely a good offering and all of the people I've taken here to try it have loved it (and declared they would bring their friends to try). Their broth has all the right spice flavorings (mm lemongrass! mm chilies!) and foundational beef flavor and depth that you'd expect from slow cooking the soup. This place has amazing Vietnamese food. They give big portions and have fast service. The seating area is pretty small but usually you can get a table to sit and eat inside. It's centrally located on BU campus so makes it a great option for students. Not too expensive but also not cheap, but on the low price end for Boston I would say. It is so delicious, we ordered the pork sliced rice bowl, the pork vermicelli bowl, the shrimp vermicelli bowl and the summer rolls and they were all very tasty. I also got a limeade club soda and a mango boba both were pretty good. The mango boba was too sweet at first but when we gave it a better stir it tasted perfect. Excellent pho & banh mi Is this really in Brookline? Wow! This small shop consistently produces excellent pho and banh mi. The summer rolls and tofu salad are also winners on the menu here. The summer rolls are clearly FRESH with the wrappers obviously moist and tender. They also have some nice aromatics mixed in (is it mint? Thai basil? I'm not sure, but it's delicious. If you order the pho to go, be sure to have some LARGE bowls on hand. The noodles and broth are provided in separate containers, neither is large enough for the whole thing. The noodles also do well to sit in the broth a bit and separate on their own. They have some nice spring to them and the vegetarian broth (there's a choice) is outstanding. The banh mi are also excellent, perhaps the best in town now that Saigon Sandwich in Chinatown has closed. Service is always friendly and prep time is quite a bit more prompt than the time quoted. I try to show up on the early side of the window they quote. To go orders are neatly packaged -- they will ask if you need utensils or not. read more

We ordered Pho Viet's to go. The special beef pho (with egg noodles and no tripe) was delicious. The broth, while light at the beginning of the meal, is rich with flavor by the end, as it soaks in the flavors of the meats and any sauces you add to it. Not only is the food delicious, but it is huge for a great price. Mine lasted me two meals, although for those with larger appetites it will be one full meal. When you eat there, it comes in one huge bowl. When taken to go, the broth and meats come in a tall plastic container that you pour into the to-go bowl they give you of noodles. They also provide a bag with bean sprouts and herbs to top your pho. The amount given is enough to fill the bowl a little over two times, making it so much bigger than most places. And at $9-10 per order of pho, it is a great deal. Will definitely return. Next time, I hope to try the banh mi or lemongrass chicken. read more
