I ordered a small rare steak pho. The small is the right size if you're ordering an extra side and want enough room for dessert. The pho was good, nothing special. It wasn't oily at all (for those who are picky about their soups). The egg roll was smaller than the typical size and tasted more strongly of the carrots, instead of the meat. I ordered the small bowl of pho tai. The broth was tasty and they give a fair amount of rice noodles. The service was very quick and friendly. I saw a family order a plate of sliced white onions and they mixed sriracha into it and ate it with their pho combination. That looked very interesting and I will try the sriracha onion mix next time. There was nothing special about the decor. It looks like it may have been a mini market at one time as I saw a wall of refrigerators like you would see in a grocery store. read more

Used to live in the house right next to this place and It was so good. I really miss being able to walk over and pick up such delicious food. Ambiance is on point. Used to walk over with my little brother and they always gave him little candies. Service also great! Always quick like 10 min quick. Their bathroom is absolutely disgusting. Many Vietnamese restaurants' bathrooms are gross so whatever. What is the deal breaker here is that they store their meats and seafoods right outside the bathroom door. There is an employee cutting shrimp right outside the bathroom. Unsanitary and just plain gross. Bonus: The employee with a dirty fingernail dipped into our pho bowl as he brought it to our table. You would think a dirty mystery black fingernail would add some flavor to this bland broth but nope still bland. read more

Mom & pop pho restaurant located off Imperial Highway. Completely empty when we came at 6pm but the crowd starting picking up shortly after. Ordered two small pho with rare steak & well done brisket ($7.99) along with 4 pcs of eggrolls ($4.99). Pho broth was not super oily (plus) and there was a decent amount of both rare steak and brisket in each bowl. I also always get a side of vinegar onions to pair with my steaming bowl of pho. It's a simple dish, but when it's done right, the broth, the noodle, the rare steak, each element kicks it up a notch that no other food can do. It's great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So today, I went to try this place out. I have friends that are Vietnamese, and they joke about only going to places where the restaurant has a "number" to be authentic. Like a Pho "23" or Super Pho "77" or something. Also, I wasn't expecting much since I've had some amazing pho in the Westminster/Garden Grove area. Once I walked in, it teleported me to those types of places. Cozy, authentic Pho place. The aroma of the broth is filled in the air. Menu had all the good stuff you'd expect. There was a regular size, and for a $1 more, large size. I was craving Pho, so went with the Brisket and rare steak Large. The flavors were on point. It wasn't super salty, and it was just the right flavors. The noodles were the right texture. Portion just right. And the meat... oh man, it was good. Brisket is a hit or miss type of thing, but I went for it... and it paid off. Everything was done right, and in my head, I thought to myself... "I don't have to drive all the way down to Westminster for a solid Pho place." The service was quick, and efficient. The ladies that worked here brought the appetizers (Combo platter, awesome here, I'd recommend it. Egg rolls with fish sauce. The Shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce... yummy. Each part is what you miss for comfort food). I got my refill of Sprite at just the right time. This all happened during lunch time, and the ladies did a wonderful job. Why the glowing review? Well, the thing I told my wife was that when we asked for a togo box for the spring rolls, usually you wouldn't be able to take the sauces with you... or you would have to ask for a small container to put it in. The staff did the one thing I hoped they would do, and met that expectation. They brought the box, bag, and a small container with the peanut sauce already in it. It's a small thing... but that small thing shows that they saw the bigger picture of what a customer would expect. Not many places would go do this, but this place did. Will I return? Definitely. I love this local pho restaurant. It makes a great bowl of soup with a flavorful light broth - not too salty or fatty. "Great pho" in my mind means fresh, flavorful, and about $10. I've dined in, ordered to go, and ordered from this restaurant through delivery services and always had good experiences. I like to eat pho for breakfast, but it's very hard to find pho restaurants that open early. This little gem opens at 9:30 am. The service is friendly, attentive, and food comes out of the kitchen fast. I like to order the "P3" pho with well-done brisket, the barbecue chicken sandwich (it's not really a typical banh mi but more like a fusion sandwich IMO), and any of the vermicelli dishes. I ordered takeout from this restaurant last night, and I'll definitely be coming back. Prior to coming, I called the restaurant and a sweet girl promptly took my order. She repeated my order back to me, and told me everything would be ready in 10-15 min. As soon as I arrived to the restaurant, I could see that they were pretty busy, but a nice worker asked me if I was here to pick up food, and grabbed my order for me. I appreciate that they immediately welcomed me in a friendly and inviting tone despite doing a lot of things at once. The service industry is going through a rough time, and I am glad these folks have managed to stay in good spirits! I ordered pho noodle soup and a bowl of vermicelli. The pho was flavorful and I really enjoyed the cuts of meats I received. The tendon was so tender! I was also given plenty of sauces. The vermicelli dish I ordered came with a crunchy, crispy eggroll -- which was delightfully savory and I wish I had ordered the egg roll appetizer! Of course we were due to check out Pho Tay Bac especially for being so close. I was dying for a vermicelli bowl and this was the perfect chance to check it out. I would actually p[personally rate this place a 3 1/2 but i rounded up. There is VERY limited vegetarian options here. I had to improvise and pick some other options from other dishes to make a vegetarian vermicelli bowl. So i choose the lemon grass fried tofu which was served with peppers and onions. While we waited the staff was over the top amazing, they were super attentive and helpful. We got our dishes under 10 minutes. When i took a look at the vermicelli bowl i thought it looked a little strange as im used to a refreshing cold noodle dish,but this one was more of a fried warm dish with hardly any fresh veggies. I called in to place an order for 2 pc shrimp rolls and fried rice with chicken and the food was so good! I always get nervous buying fried rice because it can be so oily but I'm so glad I didn't have that issue here! Also, when I picked up my order I noticed they were following proper protocol! Came here for lunch. One of several pho places around the area. Ordered pho with rare steak. Overall the taste was quite bland. The noodle itself was not too bad. But just like most Non-Vietnamese operated pho, you can get disappointed due to taste. One extra star for the lemonade soda. I thought it was quite refreshing. Wow who would've thought this little hole in the wall spot was THAT busy during lunch hours? Every single table was occupied, with a couple people waiting around to order to go. I was craving banh mi adn even gave up going to the indian food buffet for this. The lady at the counter, alongside the other elderly gentlemen working here were all very friendly. But in a very subtle, non invasive kind of way. I watched how they interacted with patrons here and you could tell many were regulars. Large selection of items from spring rolls, pho, rice dishes, banh mi and drinks. Typical vietnamese fare. What I did notice is that everything is served impeccably clean. No grease on the rice plates or soup bowls. Prices are cheap! $3.50 for my banh mi. Anyway my sandwich was large, and heaping with bbq pork. I kept the tomato and cucumber inside and discarded all the cilantro. I was quite impressed how much meat they put in there. Bread was decent, but I would've wanted it toasted a little more.
