So good! I usually go to Pho Thanh Con in Parkville, but it was closed. Decided to give this place a try. I always get the Pho Dac Biet with everything. This is equal quality, although I think Thanh Cong's chili oil is slightly better (my opinion). Nonetheless, delicious, can't wait to go back! read more

Promising but many Big Kinks to be worked out. We came here because they are new and advertise both vegetarian spring rolls and vegetarian pho with vegetarian ham. We came with four vegetarians and two omnivores. We started with two orders of fried vegetarian spring rolls. They were delivered entirely room temperature, on a white plate, and with a small bowl of thick yellow sauce that looked like snot. Only one of us had the balls to try it, and he said it was gross. There was no lettuce, herbs, carrot slaw, or cucumber to eat it with. $4.75 for an order of two small rolls with no garnish even seems a bit high for a shopping center pho joint. The two omnivores ordered standard beef pho. The broth was a little bland, there weren't enough noodles proportionately, and the broth was missing standard flavors such as star anise. The vegetarian ham pho was delivered with two tiny pieces of fried tofu only for protein. We said, "hey we came here for the vegetarian ham." They said we should have asked for it. Well, we ordered the vegetarian pho which the menu says has vegetarian ham and tofu in it so didn't think we had to ask for that. After complaining that we wanted the vegetarian ham, five small pieces were brought in a little dish for the three bowls of vegetarian ham (without ham) pho. The broth was fine, more like a typical Chinese MSG veggie broth. It would be better with some Vietnamese spices. We were asked by two servers what we thought of the food. We told them. We told them they needed to serve the spring rolls with at least lettuce and the veggie ham pho needs to be delivered with ham in it, and shouldn't be such a paltry amount. The lady was angry. They didn't actually want to know what we thought. They overcharged us for a drink that was listed as only $2.95 in the menu. Instead, we were served the wrong beverage, drank it anyway because we had a sick kid who started drinking it right away, but they wanted to insist upon charging us $4.00 for it. It was like a fight to get the price on the menu for the item we ordered. read more

Wonderful! We had all the rolls- each delicious and fresh. I had the chicken pho, hubs had the seafood pho, and sister had the beef stew with rice noodles. All phenomenal! Portions are huge, and everything is fresh. Perfect rainy day food. The owner is kind, welcoming and efficient. read more

First time having dinner from PTM and I'm very pleased! The broth, obviously, is always the most important thing to me as some other bowls I've had in the area (Towson, Baltimore, etc) tastes very watered down at times. This was some of the best broth I've ever had, you could taste every spice and bone they had it simmering with. Solid local joint. Prompt and friendly service. Hubby and I finally tried this place (previous attempts, and it was way too crowded). I must admit I really only like banh mi (Vietnamese version of hoagie sandwiches) and not pho (noodle soup) but since they didn't have the banh mi, I tried the beef stew with a baguette on the side (instead of noodles). It was delicious! The beef stew was a tomato-based one, which would suit the tastes of anyone who is familiar with European-style beef stews. Although hubby would argue this beef stew is akin to a Chinese-style one, history reveals that Vietnam has plenty of French influence as well. I had a taste of hubby's pho, and enjoyed the lightness and nuanced flavors. As far as I'm concerned, it's all a melting pot of deliciousness, so just be adventurous and try it all out! read more

Short version: I'm pretty picky with my pho, and this was good pho. Longer version: I came with two adults and two toddlers (age 2 and 3) for lunch on a Friday. Everybody was very nice, and very accommodating for our toddlers. The tables were clean, and menu has a lovely balance of enough choices, but not too many. Prices were very reasonable; a large bowl of pho for $10 that I wasn't able to finish in one sitting. Service was impressively fast once we ordered, with piping hot bowls flying out of the kitchen, but clearly assembled with care, and served with the appropriate sides (bean sprouts, sliced jalapeno, basil). Pho bo (brisket well done): This is a crystal clear, flavorful broth with well balanced flavors and textures. The beef was fine, and the noodles were relatively fresh, but the broth was the star (as it should be with pho). Not too salty, and not an MSG bomb. One of the better pho bowls I've had outside of Vietnam. Pho ga: Same story as above, but with the chicken instead. Beef with cracked rice: Bought for the toddlers, who ate it with glee. Thin cut slices of beef, seared hot and then served with a sauce and cracked rice. This was fine, but I wouldn't buy for me again. I would buy for the toddlers again if I brought them though. Crispy rolls: Freshly made and obviously hot from the friar, with a nice vegetarian filling and a rich dipping sauce. Delicious. Spring rolls: I don't eat shrimp, but my companions assure me that these were delicious. read more

My boyfriend and I really like pho after going to Pho Dat Thanh a couple times in Towson. We wanted to have some closer to home so we were really excited to learn there was going to be one in Timonium. It was a little confusing coming in, I didn't know if we had to go to the counter to order or sit down but thankfully an employee instructed us to sit. They were really fast getting us waters and menus. Our food came out relatively quickly but once we started eating we realized they had brought out the wrong dish for my boyfriend, 15 instead of 13. He is an adventurous eater so he didn't mind. Apart from that it was fine until we asked the waiter for more lime and he brought it out with his bare hands. Honestly I can understand if it was a little hectic but ever since I've been to the Towson Diner and the waitress touched my friends food I really don't like seeing that at restaurants. I really don't know if we'll go back anytime soon but I'm sure once they've been open longer we'll go back! read more

My first time for Vietnamese food! I had the #5! Don't know what it was, but it was delicious! Most of the dishes are variations of pho; mine had 3 kinds of beef. If a menu says that the summer rolls include pork and cilantro they should be there. My carryout order of two orders had none and when I called the restaurant and spoke with the woman who took my order she said they don't make them with pork. At 4.75 an order these are expensive lettuce rolls. I ordered soup no. 15 and chose rice noodles and only shrimp and bbq pork and asked if accompaniments came with it and was told so but when I arrived home I had no cilantro and basil. When I asked the woman about those she said they didn't come with that soup only some bean sprouts and lettuce, the latter cheap filler. A good server could have told me that.
