The broth was tasty, overflowing with meat and noodles. My friend ordered chicken pho and it also looked really good. Both bowls were there before we finished our summer rolls. I also ordered a passion fruit tea with mixed fruit jelly and it was incredibly good and came in conjunction with our pho. Nothing was terrible. A couple of things were good, but this place is mostly mediocre. The young man who served us was very polite and helpful, but the owner somewhat less so. I had egg noodles in pork broth with roast pork. It was not bad, but certainly not the best I have had. My wife had lemongrass chicken on broken rice. It was not very flavorful and was quite different than I have seen in other Vietnamese restaurants. The nem were good, but the spring rolls were just a bunch of shredded lettuce with a piece of cold shrimp. Our friend had a pho I was unfamiliar with and said it was quite good. I suppose my main issue was the place was that it was really expensive for what we had and there was no bill written up, just a random number given. Afterwards, when I calculated up the total of the things that we had, it seemed off a bit. Was in the area for an event. It was a cold rainy day so nothing like a bowl of Pho to warm you up. Found this little spot through Yelp. Liked what people were saying son came in. I knew I made the right choice because it was packed. The restaurant is small. It was self seating so wherever you found a place became your seat. This waitress took my order and brought me water right away. I had some spring rolls as an appetizer. By the time I finished my first one my main order of Pho was brought out. They have two sizes. The smaller was enough to fill me up. Flavor was great. After finishing off my meal I had to go to the counter to pay. They do not bring the bill to your table. Love this place! It sits in an outdoor shopping center by Lidl. Plenty of parking and easy to access from the main road. I have gone here numerous times and each time, it does not disappoint. Recently we saw they added a bun to their menu and without a doubt had to try it! I would say, maybe not on my top list of things to get here. However, the bahn mi's and the seafood pho is a must!! The broth is flavorful, not too salty and the bread on the bahn mi's are excellent. Strikes a good balance of crunchy and soft! I also love that whether you're dining in or waiting to carry out, they play a 4K version of streets of Vietnam on the TV screen. Really trying to encompass the vibe! The service is also excellent! the food tasted very good, but when i was eating i noticed a gnat floating in my pho. i was kinda grossed out but i let it slide since it could've just flew in from outside. but then while my boyfriend was eating his he noticed a bug in his that was not a gnat and was bigger, which is the bug pictured. the workers were very nice about it, but i will probably not be coming again. we should've known the place was dirty from the start since one of the workers was cutting her sons toenails in the corner for all the customers to see. read more

Definitely an excellent review for their Pho. I got the #2 large and it was a hefty portion! Everything was packaged perfectly for a to go order for pho and it was piping hot still when I got it home. Not so much for the bahn mis here. I got the roast pork bahn mi and while the bread was light and airy, there were so few ingredients in the filling! The roast pork was the equivalent of less than one deli slice of meat! For 9$ no way -maybe a couple bucks. I gave this place an average mid rating. I'll be back but only for certain menu items that I feel are a good value. read more

My daughter was just dying for some Pho so she checked out the reviews and decided on this place. It's located in a shopping center next to Lidl Market and there's plenty of parking. This small family owned restaurant is small but cozy. We were immediately greeted and seated at a table. Our waiter Phat quickly bought us water and was we ordered our spring rolls they were on our table within 3 minutes. Our Pho order was also promptly served. I ordered the #1 which had every type of beef they serve to include 1 meatball. You also get a platter to share of bean sprouts, Thai basil , lime wedges, and jalapeños. I added all of that to my broth plus some of the condiments to kick it up a notch. It was my first time eating beef tendon which looked like a thick clear piece of gel that was chewy like a gummy bear. No real taste but apparently my daughter tells me it's good for the collagen it contains. Tripe was something else I tried. It had no real taste and reminded me of a DNA strand. Inside, Pho Tan has around a dozen 2-top tables and several 2 tops pushed together in the center of the restaurant to form one large table. Both seating options allow them to handle both small and larger group dining. The restaurant has a no frills interior, however it is very clean and each table has all your pho accoutrements waiting for your slurping needs. Service: 5/5. The staff at Pho Tan have always been great on every visit. They are warm as their pho broths and welcoming from the moment you step inside the restaurant. Orders are taken punctually and your food typically hits the table within 10 minutes of ordering (perfect for the lunch crowd). When it's time to settle the bill, you simply pay at the counter which is again great for the work lunch crowds with splitting bills. Food: 4/5. On the several occasions I have dined at Pho Tan, I have always left satisfied with my meals. Some of my favorite items to order are the seafood phos, both the specialty and regular as well as the #1 all beef meats house special pho. On my last visit, they have started to serve banh mis. I opted to try the roast pork banh mi and it was well executed. The French baguette was perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with plenty of flavor from the roast pork and veggies. My only gripe with Pho Tan would be the pricing. From the several pho restaurants I have dined at in greater Baltimore, their pricing is on the high side. A small bowl of pho will run you around $11 (large $14) and the banh mi are priced at $8. I understand that all restaurants are raising prices to offset operational costs, but they seem to now be at the higher echelon. In the end, this won't deter me from stopping in, as they are one of the only pho options in the Timonium/Cockeysville area, but definitely has been noticed. Located in a fairly newly remodeled strip mall, this restaurant provides good Pho at reasonable prices. I ordered a brisket pho bowl and was very happy at how delicious the broth was. That for me is the test of a good bowl of Pho. Some places will overcompensate by making their broth salty. This one tasted like it was boiled for a good while. Bowl portion is pretty good and plenty of side fixings, bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapenos, were provided for all of us. And of course plenty of sauces were available as well to accompany your Pho bowl. This place was pretty popular as by 6 pm the small place was packed and people were waiting outside for a table. We ordered regular beef pho to go and when my husband brought it home, there was literally a plastic baggie of raw beef slices sitting on top of the bowl of veggies. Apparently they will send you on your way with RAW meat and expect you to cook it at home in your microwave.
