Once we walked in, we were greeted with great hospitality, and we order - two orders of shrimp spring roll 8.5/10 - pho (brisket) 10/10 - two taro milk tea 10/10 All amazing!! I'm from the DC area where there are lots of great Vietnamese restaurants, so I've had some pretty good pho. Unfortunately, I did not have that experience here. I came here after a weekend in Texas eating a ton of red meat, so I made the mistake of ordering a seafood pho. The seafood was obviously from a frozen mix pack of seafood and the rest of the meal was just okay. In addition, the pricing here isn't the cheapest. The inside of this restaurant is nice. Has a nice concept so you don't feel like you are sitting on top of anybody else. The weight staff and the people that work there also seem really friendly and fast to get your order. We got Thai tea with Boba, a shrimp, spring roll meal, and noodles. From other Thai beverages with Boba this one had good flavor it was overly sweet, but the Boba was overcooked. It wasn't chewy at all and it kind of melted or crumbled in your mouth . The seafood noodles that I got were OK, just didn't seem like a lot of flavor or pop of flavor. This is coming from judging it compared to other places that I have tried similar to this restaurant. Pho Viet is the closest Vietnamese restaurant to my house. It was a long and miserable wait for them to reopen while they moved and renovated, but it appears to be well worth the wait. The interior is well decorated. Complete with beautiful artwork and an indoor rain/waterfall. The service was prompt and friendly with all the same familiar faces. Now to the important part; the food! I ordered the spring rolls for an appetizer. They were fresh and delicious. Served with a peanut sauce that wasn't too sweet or overpowering. Very good! I ordered the beef brisket, tripe, and tendon pho for my meal. The broth is always the star of the show when you're talking about pho. The broth wasn't the clearest I've ever seen, but it was packed full of flavor. If you're in the area and looking for a great bowl of pho, stop in to Pho Viet. Came to Hanover to visit family and had to try Pho Viet. Now live in CA and eat Asian food regularly. The pho here at Pho Viet was so tasteful especially the shrimp pho. I honestly have never experienced such flavorful pho broth. Asked the staff about the ingredient used to create the taste and the very helpful waiter explained it is his mother's recipe. The atmosphere is very soothing - waterfall, fish tank and colorful lanterns. We enjoyed the scenic " Walks and The City" video featuring walking paths and beautiful bridges from around the world. This will be a must go to every time we visit. read more

We had experience eating Vietnamese food (Phoenix) in the past and tried different restaurant love the food but this place has the best Pho so far. Recommended it and definitely new favorite spot in Hanover. Worry about peanut and egg allergies, just tell them and they will make it work and give you options. So I'm from Philly, Vietnamese and a big foodie. This place is over priced for Pho and Vietnamese food in general. Maybe it's the area, but my main issue is the broth, which is really sweet - like sugar sweet not bone sweet. Both the pho and bun bo hue were not good. Also the Vietnamese iced coffee, which I don't think use condensed milk but some half and half and its just not right. But the service is very good and they refilled water often. read more

They're pretty friendly though, you just have to get their attention when you need anything. And their credit card machine will not available until next week so make sure you bring cash with you. Hanover has finally received its first (?) authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Given I arrived shortly after Pho Viet opened, there were some items on the menu that were unavailable (and on the same note, as of 10/25 they are CASH ONLY though another review states this is changing next week). Both the Spring (fried) and Summer rolls were fantastic. The dipping sauce for these appetizers were a peanut sauce for the summer rolls and sweet and sour sauce for the spring rolls to which complimented each appetizer very well (I kept sampling the sauces even after the rolls were eaten!). I had ordered the small order of "Ph tái" (steak Vietnamese noodle soup - bò tái). The broth by itself was very flavorful on its own without sauces added. Overall, this first trip for me set a high bar as to what Pho Viet has to offer in the future. I can only hope this business will thrive and encourage more culture to come to the Hanover area. read more

The pho was good, fast service. My only issue was not feeling "welcome," and a lack of hand hygiene. I was the only person dining in (I like to go eat by myself). First I overheard the server making fun of the person who's order he just took over the phone, which is whatever if you've ever worked in the service industry. The clincher is, he started singing "show me the meaning of being lonely" as he was walking by my table...So I packed it up and left. The cherry on top is that he used the restroom and did not wash his hands. Like I said, the food is good, but the server seemed jaded. Stopped here after going to the stores nearby. It's been a while since I've had Vietnamese food so I was looking forward to it. It's primarily a Pho restaurant, but I had a hankering for some Vermicelli with Grilled Pork and Spring Rolls. I found it on the menu and waited maybe 5 minutes for it to come out. Quick and delicious. The pork was flavorful and tender and the veggies were fresh and crisp. The service and price were excellent. This place is delicious! We ordered spring rolls, egg rolls, the pho with beef and meatballs and the rice with grilled pork and egg. The broth was fragrant and delicious, the meatballs especially were excellent. Service was attentive and super accommodating, helping us when we told them we had peanut allergies and they were generous with the fresh herbs for the pho. I liked all the twinkly lights and colorful decor. Kind of loved that there were several TVs and each played different things: including a Christmas fire place scene, drone shots of NYC, beach scenes... Interesting without being overly distracting. I've been craving pho in a big way lately so I Googled "pho in my area" to see what came up. I was surprised to see an entry for Pho Viet in Hanover...I never knew it existed. My husband and I chose to try it out on Valentine's Day and we're thrilled we did. We decided on take-out, two large soups and an order of spring rolls. The employees who helped us were friendly and happily answered our questions. The food didn't take long at all to arrive, but while we sat and waited one of the waitresses brought us each a glass of ice water (each with a small piece of lime in it) and straws to sip on. That's what I think of when I think of great customer service! The food was delicious. The spring rolls were soft and not overstuffed with greens which I find a lot of restaurants do and accompanied by a tasty dipping sauce. The soups were big and steamy and filled with the most delicious and comforting pieces of meat and tendons and noodles and sprouts. A squirt of lime and some jalapeno (for my husband who likes it nice and spicy) finished them off perfectly. We had a great experience at Pho Viet and look forward to many, many more meals there. read more

In the past I would have given this restaurant 5+ stars, but I have noticed that the last 3 times I have gone there, and used my card my card, each time shows that the restaurant has tacked $3 additional on to my bill after I have paid and signed the receipt. The first time I thought it was a mistake and let it slide. The second time I saw my receipt and I looked at my online banking statement there was a $3 difference again. This past Tuesday I was there and ordered my food to go. I used my debit card. I looked today on my online banking statement this afternoon, and AGAIN I was charged an additional $3 after I signed my sales slip. The second time it happened I did call my bank, and they said to call the restaurant, but I did not because I lost my receipt and I did not have proof. Whenever I ever spend money I put it on an online ledger that tracks my spending. I wrote the amount on the app, saw my receipt, and saw my bank statement. I called the restaurant this time because, I was was very angry, and the owner said "oh yes, others have complained about this too. It must be the credit card company. I will refund you your money." I told him that I think he was being deceitful. Can you imagine all the other people who get charged an additional $3, but never notice? That means he is making a nice profit off of his customers. I prefer to shop and eat in small mom and pop places. This particular restaurant is the ONLY phó place that serves vegetarian broth in the York area that I know of, because it is traditionally a beef based broth. I also travel all the way there from York City. I am really disappointed in this establishment. One time an extra amount being added in my tab is one thing, but three times, (That I actually noticed), the same $3 additional amount shows a pattern. It is honestly completely dishonest. If this is happening to me, how many other customers is this happening to? Many people do not follow and track their bank accounts as closely as I do. If I person spent what they remembered to be "around" $40, but it was really $37, and they pay their tab they are later charged more that is theft. I called my bank again, and they recommended the contacting the Better Business Bureau. I want someone to look at the receipts and records of this restaurant. I will be letting others about this as well. People work very hard for their money. This is a time during a worldwide health pandemic that people are struggling financially. This is flagrant deception and theft. read more

I've had Pho from a few different places and was so excited to see Hanover finally get a Vietnamese restaurant. This place does not disappoint. I had pho and my wife had a shrimp stir fry on the first trip (we have gone multiple times already). We also have tried both the egg rolls and spring rolls, both of which with the sauces are as good as I've had anywhere. We only waited between 5 and 10 minutes for our food after ordering. The pho broth is aromatic and seasoned just right that you can still taste the beef broth along with the spices, the best I've tasted anywhere. My wife said her stir fry was delicious. I ordered takeout on another occasion (only took 15 minutes to prepare) and got my mother to try it. She is hesitant to try new things and can be picky with food. She got the shrimp stir fry with rice noodles and said it is delicious, she will definitely go back as well. read more
