There is no mention the wonton were fried, but the owner took care of the wish of both of us, who follow a whole foods plant based lifestyle, so fried foods are usually avoided. What a great little spot. Wish we were hungrier when we found it. We were traveling up north and picked Shippingsburg for an over night pitsop. Pleasantly suprised with our choices. We started with Shrimp Spring Rolls and each got a Bahn Mi sandwich. Mine was pork and my wife got chicken. My wife also had a Mango Milk Tea, delicious. I got a plain old diet Coke. I've visited here a few times and have always left more than impressed. My most recent visit was with a friend and we both ordered pho, spring rolls, and the brown sugar milk tea. All of it was phenomenal, the waitress was incredibly kind and attentive. We were headed to a concert and our original dinner plan fell through, so I checked for Shippensburg restaurants with high ratings. Pho sounded perfect, and it was. We ordered a banh mi to share, beef pho, and pork chop vermicelli with two large Thai teas. I can't decide which dish I loved best, but I'm thrilled we still have leftovers for tonight! (Tip: Order the extra garnish for your pho--I did miss that.) I've lived near Falls Church, so I'm used to being spoiled for choice regarding where to get excellent pho or banh mi. This place has the best pho around. Seriously I've tried places in Hagerstown and Harrisburg and they don't compare. The owner knows my order and she was always asking about my recovery from ankle surgery which was so sweet. Her kids help her in the restaurant sometimes which is so sweet and great to see. Shrimp Spring Rolls: Stuffed tight with rice noodles, veggies, and shrimp. They are a favorite of mine and the ones here did not disappoint. Pho: Huge portion! Lots of bean sprouts and herbs provided to mix in. The broth was not as rich as I would have liked, but I chose the chicken instead of the beef, so some "lightness" was to be expected. Oodles of noodles were on deck so I was good. The place looks clean, maybe a few updates can be done to the booth's benches. They may be a holdover from whatever restaurant was here previously. So if my food was satisfying (for the most part) why is my review so low? One word - SERVICE. Where were all these friendly people the other reviews were talking about when I came in today? The waiter one worded me, never came back to check on me, and straight gave me a half a glass of water. Look, I know this is a neighborhood place and if the food was THE BOMB, then I wouldn't even care about the lukewarm reception. But truth is the food is just cool, it's fresh and straightforward.
