Food here was good. But be careful about wanting your food to be spicy. If your spice tolerance is not high just go for mild. I learned that the hard way. I still ate my tofu green curry eventhough it was too spicy for my liking. Luckily we also ordered their chicken pad see ew and that one wasn't too spicy. It was perfectly seasoned. Great little Thai spot in Gettysburg! The location is great and the place inside is wonderful too. Nice cozy feel to it. I went with a pretty decent sized group, and they were able to accommodate us nicely. We did have to wait a decent amount of time, and the food was served at varying times, but I understand they probably aren't that used to groups of 8-10 coming in at once. I got to try their pad see ew with tofu, the Thai iced tea, and the pad Thai with seafood. The pad see ew was quite good. A tad bit on the spicy side for me, even though I selected a very low spice level. It was still quite good. A nice amount of sauce, tofu, and vegetables. The seafood pad Thai was also pretty good. The seafood tasted decent, although the person I shared it with thought it was a little too chewy and not the best quality. Also a pretty good flavor to it. The portion was better for the pad Thai than the pad see ew. I loved the Thai iced tea. It was actually so, so good, and maybe my favorite item of the night. It was perfectly sweet with a lovely touch of smokiness. Amazing portion too. This place is great with refilling drinks too (the water). All in all, a very nice spot. I have a rule to stick with the cuisine that is the restaurant's specialty, but I love pho, so I broke tradition. It's hard to mess up pho, right? Wrong. This was the blandest pho ever. The broth didn't taste like slow cooked bone broth. It didn't taste like much at all. When you go to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and want Thai food, there's literally only one Thai restaurant in town and that's Thai Elephant Walk. I thought to myself, what a strange name. We really wanted Thai food. The nearest alternative was 20 miles away, so I gave them a call to see if they were open and to my delight, heard a Thai speaker answer the phone, a huge positive sign in my book! So we entered the restaurant, just as it opened for evening hours at 4:30 p.m. The restaurant is big. It's long, rectangular and all the tables are very well spaced and relatively far apart from each other. The restaurant also had larger tables that could accommodate bigger groups. We didn't have any kind of Asian food for days, so we ordered a ridiculous amount of food for 3 people. We had a fried fish fillet, somtum, massaman curry, shrimp glass noodles, chicken flat noodles, pad thai, and drunken fried rice. The waitress was shocked that we ordered so much, but she was glad to take our order. When the food arrived, we were struck by how big the portions were. I was very appreciative that even though we ordered a lot of dishes, they didn't skimp on portion size. We were very happy with how good the overall quality was, especially being so far from a major urban center. We eat at a lot of Thai restaurants in New York City and in comparison, this is really a solid option, which is shocking when Thai Elephant Walk literally has no competition in town. I can definitely recommend this restaurant for big and small groups. The prices are reasonable and run by Thai people. Service was friendly and if I'm ever back in the area, would definitely come back. read more

Cannot speak about the food, as after 2+ hours of door dashers waiting we had to cancel the order. The dasher told us there was one worker making all of the orders. Why not tell us this at 6:30 pm when the order was placed? Why make two dashers wait? Why let 7 people dangle on the end of a string waiting? We could have ordered dinner elsewhere - you know, someplace responsible. Thai Elephant Walk is now what was previously Tim Thai. It's under new ownership and the inside has a fresh, new look, too. Beyond that, the food is absolutely amazing (and truly authentic to central Thailand). I ordered som tum (papaya salad) and kao niew mamuang (sticky rice with mango) and both were absolutely delicious! As with most Thai restaurants, they ask for your spiciness preference. Please remember, mild for most is somewhat spicy in Thai cuisine. The staff was very helpful and overall wonderful. Tried the Thai Elephant walk again last night for takeout... The Chinese vegetables, cashews and chicken in a hot sauce entrée was delicious. The vegetables were fresh and the portion was very large. Saved half of it for lunch today. And... My wife's drunken noodles with pork Entrée was much better this time than last time. The calamari appetizer with sweet chili sauce was excellent also. We had out of town visitors- one is vegan, one eats vegetarian- we really enjoyed the spring roll appetizers and each found great options - I had the drunken fried rice with chicken- it was spicy and good - next time I might add veggies and skip the chicken- the chicken was good but my friends eggplant with veggies looked even better! We got takeout while I was visiting from CA and I was very pleasantly surprised. The woman working there was so friendly, and the portions were big. We got spring rolls, chicken satay, pad thai with chicken, pad see ew with beef, and green curry with tofu. The pad thai was very good and the pad see ew was possibly the most delicious and flavorful I've ever had! The green curry was a little oily with not enough coconut milk, and of course it's quite spicy. The spring rolls and satay were good too.
