Everything came out pretty quickly too. The Thai iced tea is a must. The dumplings are a great appetizer, and the drunken noodles were sooo good, but pad see ew is top notch!! It's been a little over a year since my last review and I can confidently say that Rice Thai Dining is still a great Thai restaurant! This time I visited on regular weekday evening when there wasn't a show at the nearby Maryland Theatre. The restaurant was still pretty full of patrons enjoying their dinners. Initially the service was a little slow because only one waitress was working the entire dining room, but she was very efficient and helpful. As always, the food was delicious and priced fairly. A hidden gem!!! The decor is so warm feeling and decorated for the holidays. The service was fast and attentive. We were only in the neighborhood because we had to meet up with someone in Hagerstown and we Yelp'd this place. The reviews do not lie and this place didn't disappoint! The shrimp on the papaya salad was grilled fresh (was still hot/warm) with a nice char to it. The flavor of the salad was sooo good. Sweet and tangy. I could eat a bucket of it! I wanted to try a new Thai restaurant and found this place and decided to give it a try. My fiancé and I had a date night there tonight and absolutely loved it! It's cozy and romantic enough for a date. The service was great, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The food came out hot, portions were big and there was a lot to choose from. I tried Pad See Ew for the first time and it didn't disappoint. My fiancé had the Pad Thai and thought it was the best he's had. For appetizers we had the chicken curry puffs and the duck rolls. We enjoyed both of them and the curry puffs weren't overly seasoned with curry, they were perfect. I've never had duck before and it was really good as well. I chose this place over the other Thai restaurants in town due to the cheaper menu, traditional ambience and comfy looking chairs. I had lunch at Rice Thai today and the food and service was incredible! We ordered crab rangoon and spring rolls as our appetizer. Both were perfectly light and crispy. For my entree, I had drunken noodles with shrimp, and my friend ordered pad Thai with chicken. Both of our entrees came with a vegetable spring roll. Even though we ordered from the lunch menu, the portion sizes of both entrees was huge! My friend and I had enough left to be able to take home for dinner. I believe that our server today is also the owner of the restaurant. She was so kind and helpful. My friend and I will definitely be adding this to our list of restaurants that we have lunch at! We had an amazing lunch at Rice Thai Dining today! This was our first time and it was spectacular! I had the red curry off of the special menu which had Thai pumpkin and many other vegetables! I visited Rice Thai with a group of colleagues on a weekday evening, and the restaurant was mostly empty. We were greeted quickly and given menus, but after that the service got slower - more time between each visit to ask for orders, bring drinks, etc. I have celiac and asked about gluten free options, and selected the pad Thai which I was told wouldn't be a problem. All of my other colleagues received their meals and I sat waiting for about 20 minutes without any update from our server - had they forgotten my order? Was it taking extra long to make gluten free? No idea, but finally I got my meal, long after others had finished half of theirs (I insisted they start eating since we had no idea how long it would take). It was good pad thai, not the best I've ever had, but decent. We had to ask several times for water refills as they weren't given regularly. All in all, a decent meal in a small town, but not the best or fastest service even on a quiet night. I appreciate the gluten free option, but an update on how long it would take would have made for a much less awkward meal. read more

I order from here every time my mom is in town visiting because she loves it so much. You HAVE to get either a Thai iced tea or a Thai iced coffee. My favorite is the coffee. I love the Num Tok salad and the Crying Tiger Steak chef special. I want to try other things but the chef special is just that good that I can't resist ordering it every time I go. Once upon a time, there was a little white car trudging up Appalachia with nothing but a Bose speaker and a dream. It was growing dim outside and the bellies of sweet peas inside the car were growling furiously. Where could they go that was tasty and celiac friendly? After hours and hours of scrolling and trying to find a suitable establishment, they landed upon a gem of a lifetime. Rice Thai Dining. Never had there been a warmer feeling than walking through that door for the first time. They were swiftly seated, slowly taking the time to notice the cozy Christmas tree, Santa decorations, and beaming smiles of the customers surrounding them. Imagine the words "nook and cranny"... that's how this place felt. Like a mouse feasting on a cheddar cube in a little cruck in the wall. The booths made them feel like they were in their own homes, flooded with pillows and friendship. One of them ventured off to the bathroom, an unromantical destination for many. She was pleased to find out that the bathroom didn't reek of crap and wiener, but rather citrus and butterfly breath. The meals were spectacular and warmed their insides as well as Christmas goose.
