The building itself is old and it smells moldy. The restaurant decor is outdated and simple. There are a few pictures that adorn the walls. Food/Beverage: -I got the Pad See Ew with beef. Noodle was cooked just right. I like mine cooked more than al dente. -Thai Iced Tea - Perfect level of sweetness. I prefer mine on the sweeter side. -Red Chicken Curry - My friend is confident she asked for chicken in her curry, but they omitted from the order. Since this was a carryout, we did not check for accuracy. Also, the curry was too liquidy instead of creamy. -Thai Iced Coffee - My friend said it was too dark. Visited here for dinner after an extended hiatus. Asked the waiter if the cook had changed, because the food was absolutely outstanding this visit! We ordered calamari, papaya salad, green curry, Pad Thai, Penang Curry, and Pad Gra Prao. Every dish was EXCELLENT. Special shoutout to the calamari, which was superbly cooked and excellently seasoned. Turns out that the owner was the chef, and he has always been the chef. Unimpressed both times we tried this place however, the second time was especially bad. We specified that there was a severe food allergy in our party and they said they could accommodate. However, the food arrived and the dish contained the food!! We told them and the waiter shrugged it off saying they forgot to write it down. The food was mediocre at best. Nothing to write home about and the place up the road is better. Then they overcharged us and the waiter once again shrugged it off saying it was correct until we insisted he look closer and then he realized he had overcharged us. Unlike other Thai restaurant I have visited, this is the only one that not only serve an excellent taste for all of the dishes we ordered but also they come in a generous amount. We had Pla Rad Prik, a spicy deep fried whole fish, Spicy Drunken Noodle, Thai version of Wonton soup and Tom Yum soup. They are all so yummy especially the wonton..wow...huge and tasty! The place ambiance is very simple like a typical asian carry out pbut the place is clean, people are friendly and it does not cost us a fortune like most Thai foods! We definitely will go back again. Normally I don't just say that and I really am a picky foodie, originally from the west coast I really like good Thai and Chinese food. THE BEST THAI FOOD is not an over exaggeration. We found this tiny Thai restaurant in Westminster a couple of years ago, definitely a gem of the town. The owner of the restaurant is from Thailand and he stirs fry all the dishes himself. Always nice service, price is reasonable and portions of food are huge. Pad Thai, drunken noodles, Duck kao prao, fried rice are all pretty authentic, and we almost always have leftovers. The taste of meat in the dish could vary, but chicken is usually the safest option. Soups are kind of mediocre and I don't recommend, but the appetizers are generally pretty good. Our first visit to Tim Thai Classic was an absolutely awesome one. I've been wanting to give this place a try for a few weeks after having read the other reviews here. My girlfriend and I are connoisseurs of Thai food and are constantly looking for the next best Thai restaurant to add to our list. Of the many we have been to, this was one of our absolute favorites, which we're ecstatic about, because it is so close to home! The price was a bit more than we're accustomed to paying for dinner in this area-- it came to just over $50 for the two of us-- but in the end, it was definitely worth the little bit extra we paid. The food was fresh, piping hot, and cooked with fresh ingredients. The presentation was perfect, the staff was friendly, and the service was prompt and professional! As an appetizer, we had the Kanom Jeeb. This was the ONLY part of the meal we found a bit sub-par compared to some of the other restaurants we've had this dish from. Don't us wrong, it was still delicious-- we've just had better. After getting through our second one, we just found the taste to be a bit bland in comparison-- it reminded us of a pork meatball, rather than a blend of crab meat, shrimp and water chestnuts. We both ordered our go to soups as well-- Tom Yung Goong for myself, and Tom Kha Gai for my girlfriend. My Tom Yung Good was fantastic. It didn't quite have the same pizzazz as I'm used to, it was still quite exceptional. The Tom Kha Gai my girlfriend had was delicious also, but also lacked the spark we're accustomed to. I believe the base of Tom Kha Gai is Tom Yung Goong (don't quote me on that) which would explain why both soups lacked the bite we are accustomed to. All in all, however, it was super good, and will definitely be a part of our future orders. My girlfriend ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice, which came out served in a half-pineapple that was cut and arranged into an absolutely beautiful display. It's one of those things I was sad to see get eaten because it looked so good! The flavor was perfect-- it had just the right blend of spices to pair perfectly with the pineapple bite. She ordered the rice a bit spicier than it's normally cooked, and this extra bite really set it off. I went with the "Thai Classic Noodle." Traditionally, just to gauge things on my first visit, I start with the Pad Thai. I have found this dish to be a great basis of comparison between different restaurants. Tonight, however, this Classic Noodle dish really caught my eye. It was listed as one of their Signature Dishes, so this made me particularly excited to try it. It's described as "Wide rice noodles sauteed with seafood, string beans, bamboo shoots, green peppercorns, sliced rhizome, and sweet basil leaves in a chef's special chili paste and garlic sauce." All I can say is WOW. This was a new dish for me, and it was PHENOMENAL! The flavor was so robust and hearty in the most awesome Asian way-- each bite packed a delicious punch of flavor that was well diversified by the many different types of seafood you would get in each new bite!
