This place is seriously underrated. We almost let the Yelp reviews scare us away, but I'm glad we gave it a chance. The iced coffee was amazing, the beef pho had a rich flavorful broth, and the hu tieu was excellent too. The customer service was actually great -- the owners are older Vietnamese people and you can tell it's a small family-run restaurant. They're not rude at all, just older and probably handling a lot themselves. I think some people mistake that for bad service when it's really just a more traditional environment. Some Context: As someone who's of Vietnamese descent and lives in Southern California (home to the most Vietnamese outside of Vietnam), I have had some of the best pho in North America. I knew going in that having pho anywhere else would probably be disappointing, but I always hope for a pleasant surprise. The Food: I can only comment on what I ordered: pho dac biet (special combo pho with rare steak slices, well-done brisket, flank tendon, and and tripe). Taste wise it was ... alright. The noodles were standard, the meats were good, and the tendon was delicious. The problem was that the broth was kinda bland, lacking the delicate mix of herbs and seasonings that a good bowl of pho should have. And anyone who enjoys noodle soups knows that if the broth doesn't cut it, the whole meal suffers. Don't get me wrong, the other pho ingredients were quality, but the bland broth was a let down. The Cost: The bigger letdown were the prices, which had me saying, "What the pho?!" My combo bowl was $27. That would be an outrageous price for pho in Southern California (where prices have skyrocketed), so you could imagine my "sticker shock." And the costs for the other entrees ranged from $14 to $20. While the portions were large, I'm not sure the quality justified the price. The Drink: I had a caphe sua da (or Vietnamese iced coffee) and was, again, not impressed. It tasted like it came from either a concentrate or instant coffee instead of being made in a phin, a type of slow-drip metal filter, before the condensed milk was added. Again, not a bad coffee, but the price didn't justify the average taste. The Service: The two employees were fast and friendly. They didn't check on us at all after delivering the food (standard operating procedure for most Asian restaurants), but the fact that they were polite and seemed like they cared is a big plus for a Vietnamese establishment. The Atmosphere: The restaurant was clean, spacious, and modern. Meanwhile, the bathroom was shockingly decent and well stocked. Again, two aspects that were a pleasant surprise for a Vietnamese restaurant. The Conclusion: If you're new to pho and want to be impressed, don't go here. If you're familiar with pho, need a quick fix, and don't mind paying a premium, this place will do. read more

Last year Jeremy and I took my mom to have ramen... My mom has only ever eaten dollar store ramen, Nissan, and all that low-level make-at-home nonsense. Whenever my sisters or I were sick as children, my mom would come at us with a bowl of cheap ramen. Sometimes she would send a thermos full of ramen in our lunches. Personally, I hated ramen. I didn't know anything about fixing up cheap ramen with cheese, or scallions, or an egg. I hated ramen. She always cooked the noodles to mush. I started exploring more expensive packaged ramens when I met my boyfriend, and we started shopping at Asian markets. I learned that there are curry ramens, and incredible spicy ones, and even ramen you eat cold! So when they opened that ramen spot over at the Avenue at White Marsh, we took my mom so she could experience a proper bowl of ramen. And she loved it. My boyfriend recently had his first pho a couple months ago (Miss Saigon), and has been talking about it since, so I started to get a bit jealous. I figured we could take my mom to get pho for the first time and we could discuss whether she preferred ramen or pho... Except that she didn't order pho!! She had Bún tôm thịt nướng chả giò: Grilled shrimp, pork and egg roll with vermicelli. She seemed to thoroughly enjoy it. The pork was incredibly tender and delicious. Jeremy and I both got the same pho. I like it when I can share my meal with him, even if it's just my leftovers. Plus, the bowls ARE HUGE, and there was no way that I was going to be able to finish it myself. And, everyone knows that any noodle soup is never going to be as good if you reheat it. The noodles get soggy. The fresh, crisp veg gets wilted and loses its zing. We got Tái chín nạm: Rare steak, brisket and flank - and it was so filling. The noodles were all clumped in the bottom of the bowl, but they slowly came apart the longer they sat in the beautiful beef broth. The meat was all tender. I loved everything about this soup, but I couldn't finish it. It was an enormous bowl. We also had some chicken wings. They were fine. Not hammered, just enough thai chili sauce. You can get better wings elsewhere. Would absolutely recommend the iced Vietnamese coffee. It's sweet and fantastic, and I wish I could order it more often, but alas there aren't any Vietnamese places in my neighborhood. Now I need to try a different pho place so I have something to compare 7Rich to because Jeremy kept saying Miss Saigon was better, with a richer broth. The most delicious pho on the east side of Baltimore! The food is fast, delicious, and plentiful. The ordering is a 50/50 shot. 1st visit we ordered a side of noodles 3 times, and got it twice, but were still charged for all 3. 2nd visit ordered gui cuon (2 orders) and never received any but were charged for it. The portion size for my lemongrass chicken was huge. Unfortunately the meat seemed a little tough although the flavor wasn't bad. Great place for lunch today! When we walked in, we picked our own table, and our server immediately brought menus. I chose the shrimp pho, and my dad ordered a bahn mi and a bowl of noodles (both from the sides menu). My pho was huge, with eight large shrimp and a rich broth. It was so big, I took half of it home (I didn't want to waste any!). My dad loved his bowl of noodles and his pork bahn mi, which was loaded with meat and vegetables. Prices seemed reasonable, and they were comparable to what I would pay for pho in Raleigh. The service wasn't particularly friendly, but it was quick and efficient. It is your standard Vietnamese diner offering mainly pho and rice dishes. It also offers a small selection of banh mi. The pho comes in one size and are priced from $16-18/bowl. I ordered my fav pho tai nam. The pho came out quickly. The soup was luke warm. It had plenty of meat but more noodles would have been nice. The sriracha sauce was strangely sweet and not very spicy. Personally speaking from a SoCal resident deployed to Maryland for work and love eating phở, i think their phở is one of the best in town. The pho is reeeeally really good! The broth is consistently deep & rich, it's good enough to drink on its own. I love the fact they have a few traditional Cambodian dishes on the menu as well, such as hu tieu nam vang(I discovered this dish from Hype foodies). Service is always really good even if the lady who works the front gives off a slight attitude, I think it's just her straightforward personality so I'm never bothered. It's a very casual place, nothing too fancy. It feels like eating at home or in your grandmothers dining room. Service: Our waitress literally didn't smile nor seems like she wanted to be there when she got to our table. I know it's a pho place, but at least greet your customers like you appreciate the business. When I asked about my coffee and how it's not real coffee, the staff member didn't apologize nor offered us anything else. She just looked annoyed, said okay, and walked away. 2. Food: my fiancé and I order a bowl of chicken pho, a pho tai with bo vien (steak with meatballs), and a pork sandwich. They didn't have any size selections for the pho - the bowl was large, but the portions weren't. This restaurant has the audacity to offer Vietnamese Coffee, but gave their customers a powdered drink that they thought tasted like coffee. Does the owner not see a problem with this method? If you can't properly offer an item on the menu, then I suggest you don't offer it at all. My fiancé said because of the area, but that's insulting. Just because they cater to a certain population doesn't mean that they can't offer authentic items on their menu. The pho didn't taste like pho. It was bland. The steak that was in my bowl was over cooked and hard to chew. Besides the broth, there isn't much meat in my bowl of pho. The sandwich was decent, but again, not up to par. Price: this place is ridiculously expensive. The sandwich is $5 and their phos were around $13-$17. For a bowl of pho that has next to nothing in it, they up charged like crazy. I'm not a local, but regardless, this is a horrible example of an acceptable restaurant. I expect mom and pop's restaurants to take pride in their business, but this isn't the case. Went there for lunch today, not a soul in there. I got there regular faux with tripe beef and intestine. There was literally two pieces of beef of shaved beef and three pieces of the tripe. It was awful. Very pleased with the pho. It was a cold rainy day, it was exactly what I was looking for. The order was taken correctly and we were very well attended. The order arrived quickly. We were starving and I forgot to take a picture of the appetizer. We got a see through "roll" with shrimp, absolutely delicious. And the two phos which you see in the picture. One is a fish one, and mine was steak. The fish bolls and the meet ones as well, look better than they taste... in fact the whole manu has really good pictures... the plates come looking different, but still the portion (bowl) of noodle is huge and the pho itself is very good. Why such the low reviews (3 stars overall?) The food here we thought was above average!! Lots of pickup orders! We came in for an early dinner and the wait to get seated was a bit slow (b/c the lady at the front was dealing with pick-up orders) but that was honestly the only con.. not gonna fault them for not being super quick about it though. We only waited for prob like 3 minutes but usually with Vietnamese restaurants it's like a quick head nod and seat yourself kinda situation. Not a big deal! We got the Hu Tieu Nam Vang (I think it was #14?) cuz we wanted to get something other than pho. OMG the broth was SOO freakin' good and all the topping were really fresh and plentiful. If this broth is good then we are really excited to try the other noodle soups. My favorite spot for pho in the area. The pho is good. If you think this is powdered broth or not authentic, then you probably dont know what pho should taste like. Only has 1 size (large). They are bit more expensive ($13) than others around but the meat portion reflects that. More expensive options ($15~20) have outrageous amount of meat. Me and my gf usually order $20 super portion pho with an appetizer and its perfect. Service is fine but they seem to be lacking friendliness probably because owner/staff doesnt speak fluent english and they dont really smile. I'm genuinely surprised by the low ratings, because I've been here more times than the count of my two hands, and it has been AMAZING every time! The service is great, the servers and hostess check on you enough to not bother your meal but enough to make sure your needs are still met. The food has always been SO VERY VERY GOOD every time, and it continues to arrive at the table at a reasonable time! As a Vietnamese person myself, their foods taste extremely authentic and true to the nature of the culture. This establishment is a regular spot for me and my family because of how close and real it tastes to the real thing! I think it also helps that it's run by a Vietnamese family too haha! Food here is good, fast, and tastes authentic to me. No trace of "powdered" broth that others have mentioned and I've found the portion sizes to be ample. It's a little pricier than Vietnamese food typically is. +$10 for a bowl of Pho, is on the high end, but I wouldn't say it's outrageous either. Friendliness is a little lacking, but the service is fine. The host/cashier (owner, I suspect) isn't likely to crack a smile, but some of the offense taken by others may be a little over the top. Great spring rolls & pho was good

Sometimes I wonder if Ylp manipulates the review system to intentionally lower/higher the ratings of some businesses.. like this one for example. It's impossible for this place to have such a low rating because like another user mentioned, compared to other Vietnamese restaurants, the food here is impeccable. Ylp even deleted my review for another business, which had me questioning their rating system.. I feel like this restaurant is more like 4+ stars. I don't trust the Ylp rating.. Now onto my review.. This place is impressive! It's truly a hidden gem based on a few of their menu items alone. I ordered the lemongrass chicken with steamed rice. It didn't turn out exactly as the photo (which showed cubed dark meat chicken slices), as it was mostly shredded breast meat. I prefer dark meat more because of its tenderness. Either way, didn't matter, it ended up delicious. It was stir-fried with a spicy red sauce (reeeally good sauce) and the flavor was just amazing. Normally Vietnamese grilled meat + steamed rice dishes are not very saucy, however this one dish was. And the sauce used was very oily and rich in flavor, unlike Chinese joints which use overstarched sauces. It was also complimented with humungous pieces of cucumber! The second item I ordered was their bamboo duck soup. Amazingly good. It was quite watery, and lacked a bit of an oily rich broth. I ended up kicking it up a bit with some sriracha. The duck meat wasn't exactly as tender, but it was perfectly sliced. Also, it's duck meat, an uncommon item on most Vietnamese menus. It comes with a horde of veggie toppings, just the way I like it! I also tried their iced coffee. It comes with condensed milk and can't be removed. It's fine though, their coffee ended up tasting really smooth. I'm not a fan of Vietnamese coffee because of its inclusion of the milk, making it way too sweet. It also has an unlikable powdery taste to it, but this place actually makes it pretty it well. Their iced tea is TRULY something else. I have never had iced tea that tasted this good in my life. It's like.. the purest form of tea and you could even see tea particles settled on the bottom of the cup. Their tea has this natural herbal taste to it, unlike other businesses that claim their teas are "brewed in-house" - No, THIS place does it for real, evidenced by the substantial taste. I would literally drive the extra mile just to stop here for just the TEA alone. And they really own up to their name! I don't even bother with the negative bs-ing reviews. We have been on a Vietnamese kick this summer and have tried many Baltimore spots. Unfortunately this place is at the bottom of the list. I will start with positives, because there are some. The pho broth, noodles, and meatballs are good. Also, food arrives extremely quickly (less than 5 minutes after ordering). My go to is spring rolls and sadly the wrapper was so chewy I could barely eat one. The peanut sauce wasn't right either. They are very overpriced. One bizarre thing (that I also read in another post) is that they are really weird about you looking at a menu once your food is served. I don't get it. With other better options in the area (Pho D'Lite), I'm not sure we will be back. Tip: Closed Wednesdays according to the door sign. read more

TRY PHO, SUMMER ROLL, EGG ROLL, CHAR-BROILED PORK! My review is for 2 visits to Pho2Rich. DECOR: It's not a very hi-fi place. The decor is very simple. The only reason why I am giving this place a 4-rating is because these guys wipe their tables with some stinky wipe. As soon as you sit, this stinky smell is awful though it goes away after sometime or most likely, you will get used to it. FOOD: The food is very delicious. We ordered the Chicken Pho (small), and the bowl is huge. Its more than enough for 2 people. Chicken Pho is similar to a chicken noodle soup. The summer roll was very refreshing and is served with peanut sauce.. They serve the Pho with fresh sprouts, mint leaves and salad. There menu has some mouth watering pictures. And, I would definitely like to try them all. The quality of the food is very fresh and clean. The egg roll was delicious but was oily. The char-broiled pork was superb! It is served with porched eggs, salad and white steamed rice. We had Taro Bubble tea too! I don't recommend that since the small size os too large and secondly the taro's didnt' taste great. Today is a snowy Tuesday and I was on a quest for pho for lunch. I work in Towson and didnt feel like going downtown to the green awning place off the circle. I headed towards Pho D'Lite in Waltham Woods shopping center, they were closed due to no electricity! Ok so I went down Joppa Road a little bit to Pho Thanh Cong in Carney and they are closed on Tuesdays! So that's how I ended up at Pho 7 Rich, just go down Joppa Road a little more and it's right there. I had been there before a couple years ago but did not really recall enjoying it all that much. I ordered number 4 off the beef noodle soups menu, it came with brisket, flank, tendon and tripe. I also added beef balls, yes, I was hungry. It was AWESOME. The soup broth was so flavorful and yummy, I barely need to use hoisin sauce. I'm asian so I love the different cuts of meat, especially tendon and tripe and they were sooooo good! I took away one star due to a couple of factors: stingy with the side veggies and expensive for pho. I'm used to getting a 3 inch piled high stack of bean sprouts, basil, peppers and lime from other places. This place barely stacks it an inch and c'mon, that stuff is cheap. Compared to the amazing places in Ellicott City, $10 for a bowl of pho is quite expensive. It's usually $7-8. I wouldnt mind if I were at least paying for full service and atmosphere.
