It wasn't bad, but I'm used to a more tomato-forward broth. The tofu was also a bit overcooked and dry. The red coconut curry had a nice kick to it, which I appreciated, but it lacked vegetables; there were more bamboo shoots than anything else. I honestly don't know where to begin. First timer to Thai Spice, we were excited bc Bel Air has lacked a great Thai place for years! What did we order: -1 chicken pho -1 papaya salad - spring rolls - Tom Yum -Hot Tea Pot What did we receive: -Papaya Salad -Spring Rolls -Tom Yum We had to flag down our server and ask for the Chicken Pho bc it was never delivered. Then we had to flag down for more water, then we had to ask several times for a to go container. Then a bag.. and on and so on.. Awful customer service, the restaurant wasn't busy but didn't have adequate help. The place was dirty, they staked all dirty dishes on the bar for everyone to see. We were nervous to think about their kitchen and how it looked. They apologized to us but still forgot to bring us our Togo containers and forgot to bring us the tea we ordered... The food tasted good but we decided we will NEVER eat inside the restaurant again even though the food tasted good. The customer service and cleanliness needs to improve before we return. I am sorry for my harsh review but it's an honest review and I am still upset about visit this evening.. If you are new to the area or a bel air local, skip this establishment. read more

Decided to try something different tonight. My daughter talked this place up so much that I had to try. I started out with dumplings, which were delicious. Seasoned perfectly and well cooked. I also got a Thai iced tea. I highly recommend it, it almost reminds me of chai tea. For dinner o got the drunken noodles with chicken. The seasonings were on point. I wasn't a fan of the texture of the noodles, but that was no fault of the restaurant. My daughter got beef pho and sticky rice. The broth for the pho was so good. I was so happy coming to this place. I have missed having Thai food for so long. This location is in festivals shopping center, so there is a lot of parking. There is a decent amount of seating in the dining area. The staff is friendly and attentive. I ordered the drunken noodles and they were perfect. The sauce on them wasn't too spicy and the vegetables were cooked just right. I love the rice noodles in this dish because of how wide they are. The garlic chicken was very good as well! We were in the area (new to us) and needed a quick bite. We landed on Thai and found Thai Spice. The space was newly updated and the look and feel reflected that. It's a modern dining experience. Service was fast and kind. My daughter and I are vegetarian, and they were happy to leave out the oyster sauce from our dishes. She ordered the massaman curry and thought it was delicious. It was very well spiced, and they made it kid-safe mild on the hot spicy level. She loved the heart shaped rice. Thai Spice was the first Thai restaurant in Bel Air, and I can't imagine that another place could be better. They have a nice lunch menu with smaller plates of their dinner items, and a plate of drunken noodles was only $9.95. They also offer curry dishes, stir fry dishes, pad Thai, pad see ew, and Singapore noodles for the same price. My drunken noodles with "some spice" were perfect, with tender chicken, tons of vegetables, chewy noodles and a mild-to-medium spice level. My dad loved his drunken noodles with pork (his first drunken noodles--he's now a fan!). The lunch size was huge, and we both took half of our noodles home. We were the first to arrive, a little after 11 a.m., and our server was delightful. He explained the menu and the spice levels and kept our water glasses full. One of my favorites in the area! The green curry is the best. Once I made the mistake of bumping up the spice level! That's something I won't repeat. The only issue I have with them is that the last few times I went, they were out of most beers! Also, it would be a real plus if they got draft beer! After coming here quick a few times I guess a review is due! I have dined in and taken my food to-go and the service is always great! I have ordered several appetizers, entrees and of course mango sticky rice!! The appetizers are pretty delicious and the entrees especially the pineapple fried rice with chicken is amazing! The Curry's so far are amazing too especially if you ask for spicy!! They get the spice on point!! Their pad Thai is good too but I don't get it often. Their tom soup is amazing as well!! Since they are one of the only Thai restaurants in the area I am very pleased with them! They do offer alcohol now as well. Thought that was a nice touch just in case you want a drink with your meal. They offer lunch specials during the week that start at $6.99, so no breaking the bank. Now on the regular menu some of the prices can be a bit high but they have that option since they are really the only Thai place in town. Was recommended this place by my Sister who came here about a week or so ago and so I decided to stop by with my Mom while we were out in the area. When we first walked in we were greeted and seated promptly. The dining area was really nice but apparently they were having some sort of housekeeping issue. While seated at our table we saw the mini bar counter was flooded with dirty dishes and cups as if someone just cleaned up after a party of 30 and left them in plain sight. Still, we decided to order and wait it out to see what would happened. The waiter was really nice but he seemed a little overwhelmed and stressed today as he was taking our orders. I also noticed he was cleaning tables as well as seating people who entered. Even though it was only my Mother and I at first and at least for almost 35 mins the dishes still sat on the counter. We received our drinks and food in a timely manner and everything was delicious but when our server came back around I could not yelp but ask why the dirty dishes were just piled up like that so us customers could see. At first I figured it was some sort of mechanical issue with a dishwasher or something but when the waiter responded with " they were from this morning and I didn't have time to clean them up." My Mother and I came in around 3pm so I was a little disappointed but then some woman appeared from the back and started doing the dishes. We did also notice some tables still had food on them but no one was seated there. I did ask the waiter if he was the only person working and he said it was him and 2 other people in the back. Cleanliness should be main priority, it's sad that a place like this with so much potential was presented in this way. Maybe they are short staff there but still, that's not a reason to lack in that area and especially as food service establishment. The food and service was great but they are only getting a 3 star from me. Now will I go back again? I'm not sure, but if I do recommend this place I will make sure to be transparent about my experience here. I was craving some pho when my bestie came into town for my bday. I had looked on yelp and a lot of the higher rated pho spots where a little far for a quick lunch, so we decided to try Thai Spice. I'm glad we did. Although, Thai Spice isn't specifically a pho/noodle place they did have a beef, chicken, and seafood options for pho. I got the beef and the bestie ordered the seafood. Very hefty bowl of pho for lunch!! The broth was very rich and flavorful, and the gentleman that serviced us was beyond sweet and very helpful. Hawaiian fried rice with chicken that my mom ordered was excellent. I got the pho. It was good but it doesn't come with chilli oil unless you ask. The Hawaiian fried rice was definitely better. The only real issue with this place is that you can tell they are short staffed. I don't blame the servers for this at all. They were friendly. But oh boy, I'd say don't go during peak hours, they can't quite handle a full house. I'd give this place a 7/10 honestly. Would still go back for that fried rice. The meat options in the noodles can be too learn and tough (we've tried chicken, pork and beef), so we've gone without meat the last few times. The noodles are good enough, and I think even better, without it. We actually haven't veered too far off from these items since we love it so much butttt- - PHO: ehh, a bit too.. cinnamony for me? Though it'll hit the spot if you don't feel like driving 30 minutes for the next closest pho place - YELLOW CURRY: BOMB - MANGO STICKY RICE: so hard to get this dish right - THEY DO IT IMPECCABLY THOUGH. The spring rolls were nice & crunchy with the inside vegetables also being crunchy. No greasy taste at all. Perfection! Both of our curries (1 green; 1 yellow) were wonderful. The chicken was tender & delicious. I wish there was more eggplant added & less bamboo shoots as I love eggplant. The jasmine rice was so fragrant & light. And the 2 jumbo Thai teas were guzzled with pure delight! And please don't pass up their homemade coconut ice cream which is to die for. Five or six medium scoops with toasted coconut sprinkled on top (more than enough to share). Plus it's dairy free per our super waiter who was very friendly, happy & so personable. My friend and I went in today for dine-in at noon. Sine was our server. She was very kind and friendly; she was respectful of and adhered to the COVID regulations. I felt safe, as the place was extremely clean, well organized, and the signage was clear. From the lunch menu, I got a red curry with tofu, and my friend got pad Thai with chicken. Both of our dishes were tasty and well seasoned. My friend said it was the best pad Thai she's ever had! The red curry was 2 stars of spice (out of 5 stars being the spiciest), and it was a bit too spicy for me. I could still eat it, but not a lot at once, and I needed my water! I like a mild spice, but I don't have a huge tolerance. The dish was still amazing nonetheless. Even with the lunch portion, which was well sized, neither of us finished our meals (leftovers!). Both of our dishes were $8.95 each for lunch. I would absolutely go back, and would recommend this place.
