The Thai fried rice is a must try! It has such an interesting flavor profile. The sweetness from the pineapple and raisin paired with the crunchy cashews and the savory rice and veggies is honestly perfect. My only wish is that it had a little more cashews. I think this is the best sushi spot in Bel Air 2024, now that I have gone to all of them. FOOD In appetizers, I tried the takoyaki, edamame, karaage, and ground chicken lettuce wrap things. They were all decent but nothing stood out nearly as well as the dinosaur eggs (which are not eggs, but a sushi thing), and so I strongly recommend those. Nice to see something unique and tasty! In terms of the other food, my friend gets various rolls and everything I have tried has been tasty. But I'm a big sashimi fan, especially as I can tell the quality of the fish after I've had it. And this is pretty good quality! That quality is a part of what sets this place apart from the other sushi spots in Bel Aid. SERVICE I've had the same woman serve us every time I went by coincidence, but she's always been very polite and well attentive without being pushy. Really liked her. The service here was quick and easy. They make the food in efficient timing. The inside of this place is really nice. I had ordered a California roll and a Dragon roll. I was not super crazy about what I ordered, maybe it was not what I was expecting. It tasted good it just wasn't my favorite. Awesome We got pork gyozas, shrimp tempura roll, & Kung pow chicken. I love their steamed dumplings. The dough is very light and tender. Many places they make them very thick and heavy. I won't get Gyoza's anywhere else. Also, I have gotten sushi at many restaurants, but I enjoy Rainbow King's Shrimp Tempura Rolls the most. The Kung pow chicken was delicious. There are plenty of sushi and Asian bistro options 2 this area. This place offers many of the same items as area competitors but at a much more affordable price. And I'm all about value and money over here. I had the sushi lunch and trusted the chef to select my nigiri. Boy of boy, it was some of the most tasty fish I've ever had from a sushi bar. And at $10.95 with a 8 piece maki roll and salad, a bargain! We sampled various appetizers and all were just what we expected, nothing to wow you but, just what you'd expect from dumplings, tempura, and spring rolls. Our server was friendly and the food arrived quickly. Lunch for 3 with a bunch of apps for just about $40. There are fancier places in the area. And there are places that offer more "upscale" Asian food. But, for value and to get what you'd expect from an Asian bistro, Rainbow King is pretty darn good. read more

This sushi/Asian restaurant has pretty good variety. It's located right in the middle of a big plaza and easy to drive right by. We like the soft shell crab tempura as an appetizer which is fairly large in size. The eel over rice was also tasty and it comes with a bit of seaweed salad, which was nice. The rolls were average in price and size but above average in terms of freshness. The sashimi also tastes very fresh. I ventured to try the ramen, which wasn't bad but the broth just wasn't as rich and flavorful as one would like. I'll stick with the soft shell tempura, sashimi and possibly the rolls but I probably wouldn't come here for ramen. read more

Went to lunch on a weekday. Server brought out someone else's appetizer and it sat there for about 5 minutes before he came back and we told him. He picked it up and served it to the rightful patron, but I doubt it was as hot as it should have been! Next he brings out another wrong appetizer but this time this person didn't want to embarrass him and had us eat it. It was intended for a Vegan but this had meat in it! I didn't start liking sushi until after I moved out of bel air (what was wrong with me??) so I haven't eaten at a TON of sushi places in bel air. But, now that I work in the area I am 1000% impressed with this Bel Air sushi joint. I found the restaurant based on positive Yelp reviews, because I believe it is relatively new to the area (it wasn't in the shopping center when I lived there) They have a very large menu with different Asian cuisine items, but their main focus is sushi. Price points for their special rolls is decent. Most are somewhere between $10-13 for their decked out fancy rolls. I got the Rainbow King roll (apparently their most popular!) and a regular rainbow roll. Service was great as well. The server was quick to make recommendations of popular items and was even quicker getting our table refills of water. The presentation and plating of our sushi was beautiful! I went here with family on a Saturday night. There weren't many people there. My cousin ordered a "Wagamama Ramen". When her food came there was clearly a hair sticking out from her food. The waiter took it back immediately. He said it would be a couple of minutes. When the second ramen came out. It was in a different bowl but......there was ANOTHER hair on the food. Luckily it was so obvious the waiter didnt even have a chance to walk away and she hadn't taken a bite yet. The waiter offered to get her something else. At that point we has lost our appetite. After requesting to speak with the manager, he stated that they were going to comp her dish and give us 30%. I don't come to the bel air area that much so I don't really know that many food places here. My cousins live here and I come every now and then but we don't go out too much. This was one of the few places we went out to and it was really food. Cousin and I got sushi to share and then we each ordered our own thing. I got the orange chicken but I forgot to take a pic. Sushi was really good. Meat tasted good and the rice fresh. Might be weird to talk about the rice but I've been some places where the rice is hard. The orange chicken was also good. Sauce was nice and the chicken was real chicken. I'm sure you've been to the take out Asian food places where the chicken doesn't always taste like actual chicken but not here. While the accompanying dipping sauce was very good, the batter was way too thick and heavy and gummy. Tempura should be a light, crispy batter with panko. Initially disappointed because I was looking for the ambience of Hibachi cooking in front of my eyes, and called before driving to the locale I was told by them that they did so. Arrival, not so-but still new to the area and starving I decided to go ahead and sit and eat SO GLAD I did. SERVICE: For starters: the one poor fella working that evening bounced from booth to booth, taking orders, busing tables, bringing out food, and all the while making suggestions from the menu and not making you feel you were forgotten. He probably had 8 booths, no less than 20+ people in various stages of service and was hitting them all in a timely fashion. While also cleaning behind them to ensure booths were avail for new comers! Kudos to him! Maybe 15min in another young man arrived. Still in street jacket he immediately began cleaning as well- sweeping and busing tables and eventually removed his coat and started waiting tables. This may seem small, but it was a plus in my book that these young men devoted their entire shift to actually working: doing WHATEVER needed to be done, seemingly without being asked nor deciding "that's not my job": this is often rare at restaurants -so a gem wrt service FOOD: Waiter helped me pick a great appetizer: vegetable sushi-tempura, and since I came for the salmon, I ordered hibachi salmon as my main dish. Drink menu, I chose the "Asian martini" Sushi-tempura was great. I didn't expect the entire roll to be deep fried, only the vegetables inside, but it was an interesting twist. (Odd it came out after the main dish, though. Perhaps more people were ordering sushi than kitchen foods) The salad was typical and just ok. Same w the miso soup (I've had better but it wasn't terrible). The salmon however w veggies and rice was awesome! Tender and juicy and flavorful all around!
