We were looking for something different tonight since we spent the afternoon shopping at the Outlets. We were captivated by the magnitude of terrific reviews Miyagi got, so we decided to give it a try. The restaurant was unassuming, located in a small plaza next-door to the Safeway grocery store. When we walk through the door, we were immediately greeted into an authentically Asian atmosphere. The restaurant was long and narrow with the kitchen visible to guests. We were seated at a cozy booth. We started with an order of the purple, sweet potato fries, and they were delicious--hot and fresh, tempura style. Each of us ordered a different Ramen bowl. The portions were healthy. The bowls were like a picture in a magazine, so colorful and varied. Unable to finish our entire bowls, we asked for takeout containers. When the server returned, he clearly directed us to separate the noodles and the broth. His attention and concern was impressive. Miyagi is a must in Rehoboth Beach. Miyagi Ramen Bar offers delicious ramen and traditional Japanese cuisine. The service was excellent and the place is very clean with an impressive Japanese decor. I visited for lunch recently and started with their chicken Karaage and a side of kimchi. The supple fried chicken morsels were fantastic and were served with a little bit of salad with a spikey citrus dressing. The kimchi was excellent as well & just spicy enough. I then ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen with pork. The miso base was very flavorful with a large portion of savory pork on top. I enjoyed trying corn in ramen as well. My family enjoyed dinner at this pleasant restaurant on the Route 1 corridor between Lewes and Rehoboth beach. We arrived on a Sunday evening at 5pm and did not have to wait. By 6pm, it was getting more crowded. Lots of pluses. First, the interior has a nice welcoming vibe and free parking is readily available in the shopping mall. Second, the table service was generally attentive. Third, my wife enjoyed the shoyu ramen while my son and I had the chicken katsu dish. I'm in love with Japanese katsu. I've traveled to Osaka twice, Kyoto, thrice, and Tokyo twice. My most recent visit was less than a month ago. I'm very familiar. I've had the real deal. I was hoping that I had hit the jackpot today and could have the flavors I love the most. It was not even close. The chicken katsu was disappointing. Lacked salt. Needed a little bit less cooking time because it was dry. The rice and cabbage were flavorless. I thought the breading tasted like they used a small bit of shake and bake. Really didn't love it. The katsu in Japanese restaurants is moist and juicy. They use fatty cuts of pork and chicken thighs also are more juicy when frying. The breading is panko and very flaky. There was no flake. It wasn't light and juicy. The breading has a light hint of salt. Probably dusted with a fine grained, high quality salt as soon as it comes out of the fryer. I know I'm not in Japan. I think they can certainly improve on the recipe and quality of cooking to get this closer to the real deal. read more

The owner ruined it! I believe he referred to himself as the owner but if not the bald white guy , he was a rude jerk ! He literally stopped us as we were walking in and in a rude tone asked if we were meeting someone. I told him we preferred a booth .he looked at his back room with only one or two booths taken and asked if we could sit in the partial booth in the corner ( away from all the other customers) . He only spoke to me and only made eye contact with me. My family that met me in Rehoboth Beach are from the VT border , one of them is special needs . I'm not sure if it was our attire or if he could tell my cousin was special needs but either way he was a RUDE ,SNOBBY , JUDGMENTAL JERK ! Very surprised to find a fantastic ramen restaurant in Rehobeth. Prices are "fair" (actually slightly less than ramen restaurants from my town). The quality is very good, strong tonkotsu ramen with huge chunks of chashu which was a nice surprise. The snow beer is also really good, highly recommend lager or Japanese beer afficionados to try it. This place is very busy so there can be a wait. We usually pick an Asian restaurant that we repeat-visit each Rehobeth trip, and I think this restaurant may have just become that one. read more

This was my first time here. I used to enjoy ramen often during my many business trips to Japan, especially Ippudo in Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan. I was here solo for lunch. I arrived a little after 1 PM on a Friday for lunch. Only one other table was occupied, when I arrived. I was seated at a rear table 13 on the left across from the bar. I enjoyed my black garlic Tonkotsu ramen for only $19. I also enjoyed a side order of bakudan spicy paste for $2 to add to my ramen, because I enjoy spicy ramen. Two large thick pieces of pork were included in my ramen. Japanese ramen pork is usually a much smaller thin cut of pork. My ramen was very filling, because of the abundance of pork. I was barely able to finish my ramen. My total bill excluding gratuity was $21. My server Ionut R. M. served me very well. I will return here again for more ramen. read more

This food is ridiculously good! I am sad we did not find it until now. We had just about all the Vegan starters plus one of the vegan base Ramens (shoyu I think) and the vegan Japanese curry. I would go back and get it all again tonight! Service was fast and attentive and his recommendations were spot on. I fully wanted to skip lunch on the Saturday of our last visit to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, because of the dinner and drinks that accompany our getaways to this vibrant shore town, but the boys would have been sorely disappointed at omitting a stop at Miyagi for ramen. It was the first place I ever had ramen (save for Nissin in college) and still the best. A thin, watery Japanese beer is just the thing to go with such a lunch. I usually order the Black Garlic Tonkotsu or the Spicy Miso - both full of flavor. We've dined-in and ordered to-go and it's always been consistent. The broth in the ramen noodles was bland, the chicken tonkatsu was overdone and very dry and didn't have enough sauce to counter the dryness. Upon entering, we were blown away because we didn't expect to the interior to look the way it did from the exterior. Lovely decor, total vibe and took us to a different place that didn't feel like we were in a shopping strip. Service was impeccable. Our waiter was Ben. He was kind and friendly. And knew how to bring kid-proof utensils for us. Tonkotsu Ramen - it's okay. Not like the ones in NYC but for Delaware, we'll take it. Always nice to have this option. Broth was good. The pork slices are huge and worth it but takes time to chew. Plenty of ingredients in the bowl and makes it worth sharing. Bubble tea - it's alright. Taro was good and the boba was okay. The place makes great fresh ramen! We first order the Korean mandoo dumplings! It was delicious. For ramen, we ordered the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. It was perfect. The port meat was plenty! A hidden gem in a strip mall off of route 1! As you walk through the doors, you feel as if you've entered a local ramen joint in Tokyo. Kpop and japanese pop is playing, while the painted art, hanging ropes and tapestries are illuminated by warmly tinted light from numerous paper lanterns. We ordered the miso ramen with chicken and the green curry ramen, with Sapporo beer. The flavors were intense and satisfying, with tons of umami. My chicken in the ramen was marinated in teriyaki and grilled for additional complexity of flavor. The soy egg was sweet, savory and perfectly cooked. I absolutely loved the experience eating here. The space is so fun. The bar is nicely decorated and very contemporary. They had super friendly staff and attentive service. The owner of the Ramen bar also stopped by and spoke to my partner who had a bunch of questions. If you get a chance to meet the owner whose background is Korean - definitely catch a word since he is very friendly and loves speaking to customers. Love hearing where he got his inspiration on food and opening up this restaurant. Wish I had more space for drinks since the drinks menu looked amazing - next time!! The food was phenomenal!! I'm so surprised to find this quality of food in the area. I would highly recommend ordering any of the ramen bowls and adding extra noodles. They give you a large amount for the $3! Decent ramen spot. I can't comment on the ramen because I didn't try it, but my husband and kids seem to like it. I did try two rice dishes, the chasiu don and karage chicken over rice. Between the two, I would recommend the latter. Chasiu don was just okay, and not what we expected as it was the same type of chasiu as what you would get in ramen and not the chopped pieces like we were used to. The marinated soy egg tasted a bit off I still ate it (lol). The karage chicken was good and my kids who can be picky all ate it too. Service was fantastic. The waitress was so nice to our young boys. Walks in no reservations. Was told they typically get busy around 7:30 so we came at 6 to avoid the crowd and by time we left around 7:30, there were more customers but didn't seem that busy. This is a nice spot a few miles away from the beach. We were 2 families and therefore ordered several items. My kids had the bibinbap and the chicken Katsu. I had the Black garlic tonkatsu ramen with pork. It was delicious but even more so after I added my chili paste to it. My hubby had the seafood hot pot which was spiiiccyy!! He loved it though. My friends had the chili miso ramen( this was the best in my opinion) and the shiyatsu bowls. The kids ordered several bubble teas. Keep in mind the bubble teas come in a large cup for $7 and not one of the kids could finish it. I recommend sharing. The ramen bowl range in price from $18-$20 and is large enough for one adult. The ramen noodles were a little different than other Japanese ramen bars I have been to, but it's still pretty good! We also got the poke nachos (probably my favorite thing from the meal) and curry katsu. There were generous pieces of tuna on the nachos. Definitely a great appetizer. My husband and I were meeting my kindergarten best friend and so, we were already expecting a great time, since she was there.
