Called in an order to go, they said it would take 15 minutes. I arrived 30 minutes later to pick it up and they hadn't even started on it. I sat in the empty restaurant for 10 more minutes waiting while I could see employees eating, chatting and hanging out. Not impressed and the pho was garbage. read more

I have been a customer here for about 12 years on and off. The food has always been excellent and the services always good. The place looks like a hole in the wall, but everything is good. We even take our wedding flower girls, bridesmaid, and their families there for dinner. We considered them that good to do that. Recently, the owner sold the place to younger family members. I asked because I noticed the menu changed, the interiors changed and the food different. I was told the owners have medical problems and cannot continue. Well, I guess that's when things start to go south. Within half a year, we have been there three times and twice, the place is dark and closed without notice. If you look on the door, you cannot tell what days they are opened or operating. I am sorry, but on a Sunday afternoon, they are closed without hours posting. I don't think I will go back. read more

housemate was feeling a little under the weather on Thursday nite. wanted soup. asked me if I wanted to go out for Pho. problem is neither of us know any good pho in Vancouver. so we googled and found Pho Ton 4 on Chakalov that was close and it closed at 8pm and it was 7 so we headed there. after sitting down and receiving menus; we remembered to ask the waitress if they use MSG. no huge surprise she said yes indeed they do use MSG. so we politely explained to her of our allergy to msg and left. Back to the drawing board. thats when I found Pho Saigon.......and it says on google that their open until 9. that was key as it was already getting close to 7.15. we first called to confirm if they use MSG. we were pleasantly surprised that they do not use it. we arrive theirs not a Soul in there. normally not a good sign. Any of my favourite pho places back home always have customers every night and generally rite up until they close. my housemate ordered chicken pho I ordered vegan pho and tofu fresh rolls. I requested less tofu more veggies in the pho and less noodles the fresh rolls came out first they were just ok. inside of the fresh rolls was dry tofu and iceberg lettuce and a little bit of rice noodle. no love at all! no mint no cabbage no basil no carrots. it's some thing wouldnt order from here again. the dipping sauce was not peanut but a brown slightly sweet sauce it was fine, I actually like this take on the sauce its not as sweet and heavy as the peanut sauces tend to be. now my pho was a solid try... they did give me a good amount of fresh vegetables.....just a little more and I would probably be rating 4 stars... the pho had lots of tofu. that wasent necessarily terrible but I would have preferred less tofu and more fresh veggies. the broth was too salty. I had to stop and take sips of water it was that salty. other than that it was good. my housemate was trying to enjoy his chicken pho. but he looked up and said to salty and no love ie no vegetables...so I looked at his pho and all I could see was chicken, rice noodles and some onion maybe some cilantro. I agree with him why not give it some love in the form of vegetables. they gave us one plate of bean sprouts, limes, jalepeno slices and basil was nice. although I thought they would give us each our own plate of this. this place gets gets thumbs up for not using MSG. I wish all vietnamese restaurants would do the same. heavy price or fair? $27 for 2 bowls of pho and one order of tofu fresh rolls. imho Pricey read more

Decided to try their thai tea with boba, the size was a bit small and the boba wasn't fresh. Although the thai tea itself was great.

i came here again after a couple of years & it still does not disappoint! i got the vermicelli noodles with grilled pork, shrimp and egg rolls + my aunt got the pho. both were really fresh & so filling!! we also got the salad rolls & the peanut sauce is to die for. not too thick but not too watery at the same time. definitely would recommend if you are around the area :) just a few points: considering how much labor goes into making pho (along with inflation due to minimum wage rising), i would say that the increase in price is reasonable. if i remember correctly, it's $11 for a large bowl which, for someone living in portland, is considered rather inexpensive because a bowl of pho is about $13. as for the change in ownership, although i do agree that the taste had definitely changed due to different recipes, regions, etc, i think they created a unique flavor that is rather pleasing. also under the new owners, it is posted on their hours that they are closed sundays! read more

I really really REALLY wanted to like this place because the reviews were solid and the family that owns it is lovely! This review is strictly based on food and nothing else. The mint and the jalapeños that came with the pho were not fresh at all. I had to tear out the wilted spots. The veggies inside the salad rolls were also old and the wrapping paper a little stale, seems like they were made a couple days in advance and put in the fridge until someone bought them. Probably the worst bun I've ever had (I feel terrible writing this, but it's true). The meat was fatty and the vermicelli was watery. When mixed together it almost became a cold soggy soup. Not pleasing to the tongue or tummy. I'll be making the drive to Portland to satisfy my bun cravings next time! read more

This place is the best Pho I've found since moving here from California! Me and my husband both got the Pho and it was amazing!! The broth was the best part so yummy! Only bummer was that they didn't have egg rolls and the staff doesn't speak English very well so it's a little hard to communicate but the food speaks for itself. read more

It was a cold & rainy Friday night at 7 pm when my hubby & I recently ate here. We both had colds and were really in the mood for some good pho. We were the only customers in the restaurant that night. To me that is not a good sign. Looking past the faded dirty mural on the wall & sad feeling I got from the atmosphere I was willing to overlook it all if the food was amazing. I have had great pho before and the chicken pho I received was terrible. The broth tasted like dirty sock water and the chicken was rubbery. Plus it was pricey!! So sad to come away disappointed. I have had many bowls of soup here before, but today will likely be the last in a long time. Food quality was still top-notch, the service was a bit pushy (3 prods to order the salad rolls?). 2 major things have led me to no longer give Pho Saigon my business. A $20 minimum for credit/debit purchases ($10 is the max allowed per the Dodd Frank Consumer Protection Act). And, we were over-charged on the sales tax (8.4% of $15 is $1.26, not $1.50). Either of these things on their own would have been over-looked, but both, on the same day, just really hit me wrong. Sorry Pho Saigon, I am going to have to find a replacement for you. read more

This is a small restaurant that seems to have a pretty steady stream of business. It's clean and warm inside. Service is efficient and FAST! WOW!. This would be a perfect place to stop for a quick lunch. We had pho and wonton soups. The serving size was average which was more than enough for us. The prices are reasonable. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. I thought the caramelized slices of garlic floating on top of the wonton were interesting and a tasty addition. Looking for Pho Nd spring rolls we found this place down the street. My son had pho. He said it was good. I had the shrimp and pork spring rolls. There were two very long ones. They looked pretty darned good. I was disappointed the sauce wasn't peanut, but when I tasted it I was immediately addicted. It was a sort of reddish, slightly sweet sauce. Perfection! I called to order food I had to correct them twice when I said egg roll and they said spring roll.. then I get there excited to eat right? 30.00 I had to spend for a bowl of pho and egg rolls. When they brought my order out it was wrong.. spring rolls is what they gave me, so they fixed it taking 15 minutes which is half of my lunch. Then the I get to work and open up the broth which is completely cold and I drove maybe 4 minutes, so I couldn't even eat my meat, and they didn't give me any sauce. I just [as in a second ago] finished an amazing bowl of Beef Pho, which I ordered to go. It was nothing short of delicious. The broth had a sweet hint of anise and spice, and the color was a deep, Rich brown. This was a sure sign of craftsmanship and an indication that the broth was made from scratch. As a fellow Vietnamese patron and soup enthusiast, this is important to me. The broth makes the dish. The beef was fresh and very thinly sliced. They even included some to go Hoisin with a little bit of siracha, which was good, but no match for the spoon full of Sambal Oelek that I added to it. My only complaint was that the to go serving of herbs was a bit puny. I love a big wad of fresh cilantro, basil, and mint in mine! The gentleman at the counter was friendly. The restaurant was small and nothing fancy, but was clean. I could peak back into the kitchen, that was clean too! I will DEFINITELY come back again. read more

I have been going to this restaurant everyother week up until 2 years ago when my work took me elsewhere. A year ago or so, the owners wife became very sick and a relative took over. The food went from 5 to a 4 star as did service. On my return today, another family member seems to be running it. It is sad to see something that was great has now taken on a new life. New owners= new owner menu, new owner recipes and a completly different taste.... hot water. The only thing that is still good is the fresh rolls and peanut sauce. My Pho, was bland, even though it was spicy, my noodles were served hot and dripping wet of water. The noodles made the soup taist more like water and no texture to it at all because of it. The price went from $7 small to a $9 small to now a one size $11 (same size). I wouldn't mind paying the price if the flavor matched it. Sorry charlie.. read more

Coming from Reno where Vietnamese food is on every corner, this restaurant isn't horrible but it isnt going to give you the most quality experience. The spicy beef noodle soup is no where near the authentic bun bo hue which is my favorite thing to order but there is no blood or ham hocks. Also the vegetables when you get the food there or to go is drenched in water and browning leaves and bean sprout tips. I wish the food reminded me of authentic Asian cuisine. If you dont care about authenticity or your vegetables then it is decent. I would have given it a better review but after not having my food ready until after I show up and pay thats when they started cooking my food. Dont encourage to go orders if you dont cook or check your food until your guests arrive. Again I hate to be so harsh but after waiting 20 minutes and then on top of that another 15 minutes after we arrive because they didn't start cooking until after they got the money for the food read more

Great little Pho shop. Family owned and operated. They have a limited menu items but what they do they do well. The Pho combination is my husbands favorite, I am partial to the curry. If you are expecting upscale or overly attentive service this isn't the place for you. They are very reasonable for the amount of food you receive and it's always tasty, fresh and high quality. I am obsessed with Pho at this point in my life. I just moved to the area and I've been trying out different places and this one was a favorite right off the bat. Their food is delicious, the service is great and I love that its a hole in the wall and not some big chain restaurant. My fiancé and I go here about every 2 weeks because I crave it constantly. Pho Saigon is so much better, hands down! Yes, it's dive-y but that's part of the charm. Inside is clean The gentleman who was serving was very gracious, quick and good at his job. He took pride in his service. Their Pho broth is flavorful, they don't skimp on the meat and yummy salad rolls! Their peanut sauce was thick and stuck to the salad rolls great. I will be back to try more off their menu and can't wait to take my son here (who is more of a Asian food snob than I am!)
