Go in, enjoy the food, eat, and get out. The table next to us wanted 5 star service..... don't expect that. Pho was average but hit the spot. Avocado milkshake was delicious.

I found this place on google maps while traveling in boston. it was a bit chilly in the evening so i wanted some pho so i came here. it was so busy with so many locals! the food price is very reasonable and the food was so good. the pho hit the spot and it was a perfect way to end the night. the service isn't friendly but it was a busy night. this place isn't suited for bigger parties, and i recommend coming as a couple or maybe as a group of 4. 10/10, would revisit when i'm in boston again!

Recently came for a pho fix. Hadn't been here in a long time. Prices are decent and portions are good. Hit the spot for my pho craving but the noodles were really disappointing, they must have been over cooked because they were all broken and falling apart lifting out a chopstick full- every time.

I've been coming to Pho Pasteur for years. It is one of the busiest places in Chinatown. They provide complimentary tea upon request. I usually order some type of pho although they have an extensive menu. This time I had the seafood noodle soup.Very good broth and a good amount of seafood. My server seemed bothered when I asked for a fork. Usually although a busy place, I find that servers are generally attentive and also quickly bring your check. This time, I had to go upfront to pay for my bill because I did not see my server for a while. Place wasn't very busy at the time and maybe he had other duties to attend to. Their bathrooms' floor were sticky and did not appear very clean.

I stopped by Pho Pasteur for the first time over a weekend and was surprised to see how large the space was! The menu is extensive with a variety of dishes but I opted to go for one of the more popular options, the BBQ Pork Chops (2). The dish ended up much bigger than I expected but overall I felt like the taste was okay. Some of the meat I received was quite fatty and the areas near the bone were still a bit red on the inside. Overall I'd rate my experience as okay - not something I'd necessarily seek out on my own.

I love the pho here, so healing. Service is usually pretty fast too, even when they're super busy. Very causal dining ambiance. Parking can be a little tough in this Chinatown area though, unless you're willing to pay for garage parking, which is very close.

I used to come to Pho Pasteur years ago when I lived in Boston, and I have so many great memories of eating here. I was really looking forward to coming back and experiencing that same sense of nostalgia. Unfortunately, this visit didn't live up to what I remembered. The quality just wasn't the same. The broth had a strange, off-putting flavor that I wasn't expecting. I kept hoping that adding the dressing and condiments would balance it out or bring back the familiar taste I remembered, but it didn't make much of a difference. It's always disappointing when a place you once loved doesn't live up to the memories you've held onto. I truly wanted to enjoy the meal and relive that experience, but this visit fell short. I hope this was just an off day, because I remember Pho Pasteur being a place I'd happily recommend.

Good pho, good appetizers, in good location. On a snowy day, we decided to go to Boston for some Pho. After spending way too long trying to get to expensive parking, I finally parked and made it in to Pho Pasteur. The inside was larger than I expected with plenty of open seating. We ordered the Pho XL Bowl with everything, the egg rolls, and the two quail appetizer. Service was quick, both when they took our orders as well as when it came out of the kitchen. The broth was great, full of flavor and the meat was plentiful, though both of our bowls were missing the tendon. We kept disappointing ourselves by mistaking onions for bits of tendon. The two egg rolls were good but super skinny, making me want for more. And the quail, while great, were a little too overcooked, but that didn't stop us from stripping all of the meat from the bones. If it wasn't for the parking situation, I would come here more often, but instead I may stop by some great places in Lowell that have free and plentiful parking.

Came in on a super windy and cold Boston night and got warmed up by some absolutely delicious pho!! Such a busy and packed place, but the servers are doing their BEST in ensuring everyone gets a table and everyone at tables are getting their food! Hot, fresh, tasty, what else can I ask from some pho? An absolute great place to checkout, but have some patience since it can be really busy but trust me it will be worth the wait!

Great casual dining in Chinatown. I was staying at the Hilton Doubletree a block away. Very close and convenient. The quality of food was exactly what I expected, coming from the San Jose California area. The service was fairly quick despite a crowded Friday night. Prices matched the quality and quantity so I'd return.

While on a recent trip to Boston, we were in search of delicious but affordable eats and Pho Pasteur fit the bill. Pho Pasteur is a Vietnamese restaurant with a homey diner feel to it. We ordered some beef pho and spring rolls after a long day of exploring the city and it hit the spot. Service was fairly quick and even though we did not have a reservation on a weekend night, we were seated fairly quickly.

Plenty of Vietnamese dishes in a busy establishment! We got the #12 X-Large Pho, #23 Beef Meatball Pho, and #41 Combo Pork Chop/Skin/Cake Rice Plate. The rice plate was solid all-around: taste, meat tenderness, portion, and ingredient balance were all great. The other members of my group also viewed their dishes similarly. Very efficient operation too, they've clearly optimized it! Worth another trip to explore their extensive menu

Look at these noodles, they are just insanely delicious!

I came back here recently to have lunch and it is as good as I remember it from when I first started going here years ago. If you are looking for a great lunch/dinner experience in Chinatown, Boston, I highly recommend stopping by at Pho Pasteur.

Hi! Do you make your pho broth from scratch daily, or is it pre-prepped? I’m a big fan of deep, slow-cooked flavors and just wondering before I stop by.

Hi Evie, Yes, our pho broth is cooked fresh daily, all from raw ingredients. We have beef and chicken options. We also have vegan.

I came around noon on a Friday, and there was a steady line throughout my time there, but it moved quickly. They also offer other dishes, like vermicelli bowls, which looked delicious. Not knowing this the first time my husband and I visited Boston (in 2021), Dorchester has a large Vietnamese community (funny thing was we were staying at an Airbnb in this city and had no idea). But later on found out when my husband was looking where to eat for lunch. We ended up loving Ba Le Dorchester so much that we came twice during our visit to Boston. Upon these visits, we ended up ordering: Banh Da Lon, $4 prior to tax- I love these layer jello like cakes. This one has flavors of pandan and coconut. It also had the right amount of sweetness too, by not being too sweet. Banh Mi Dac Biet (Special Combination), $7.01 prior to tax- My husband ended up ordering this sandwich twice (on both of our visits). I am not a big banh mi person so I didn't have any but he really liked it. Banh Cuon, $7.95 prior to tax- Rice rolls are one of my favorite things. We ended up ordering 2 different versions of these (on 2 separate visits). One with the ground pork and mushroom filling that also included slices of Vietnamese pork sausage. But on our second visit, we got an order made with shrimp filling. Portion size is more than plenty for 2 people to share and both were cooked perfectly. Goi Cuon, $6.08 prior to tax- Spring rolls is another favorite Vietnamese dish of mine and so I decided to get these that were filled with shrimp. An order of this came with 3 spring rolls and a large side of peanut sauce. After seeing a baking sheet on the wall with Guy Fieri' face, I found out that Guy Fieri visited this eatery with his son for his show Diners Drive Ins and Dives, which aired on November 15, 2024 Service was friendly and quick on both visits. I love that you can grab some premade items before heading to the register but you can also order them to be made fresh at the register. There is a small seating area towards the opposite side of the register. There is also a clean single toilet, unisex, bathroom in this seating area as well. This eatery takes both credit card and cash as payment. Parking is just along the curb. If you aren't able to find parking, you might be able to park around the corner, where we parked the first time we came. Everything that we had was delicious and would come back here again if visiting Boston.

I also got the Iced Saigonese -- strong viet coffee, still yummy with the sweetness & the foam on top enhanced the creaminess of the drink. We ordered the BBQ Pork Bahn Mi + egg, I would recommend adding the egg for sure! The egg was creamy & runny, giving it extra flavor. However, Bahn mi itself was not particularly special. Most of the Vietnamese restaurants in the Boston/Greater Boston area are typically older. But now the question is, is the food actually worth the higher price tag? I would say yes! Service is on the slow side but food was surprisingly quite all right. These are the dishes we ordered today: - cha gio/fried egg rolls - Banh khot/ crispy shrimp cakes - limeade (x2) - pho tai bo vien / pho with eye round steak + meatballs - grilled beef rice plate - an order of nem nuong on the side Thoughts: Food took a minute to arrive to our table. I'd say it was roughly 20ish minutes. It seemed like their cha gio/fried eggrolls were freshly made to order? They were not greasy and stale like they normally are when ordered at a restaurant (premade). I really liked the egg rolls from here, though it had more wood sear mushroom + vermicelli noodles in it rather than meat for filling. It came with lots of veggies, which I appreciate! Banh khot/crispy shrimp cakes were fire! This dish isn't readily available at most other restaurants so we definitely had to get them to try. They used whole shrimp and I thought that the portion size was great. Normally they are much smaller & use smaller shrimp (at least the ones I've tried at other spots). Great flavor & tasted delish. ***We ended up asking for some fish sauce with peppers, we felt like the nuoc mam they gave us was missing something. Fish sauce w/ peppers was much better! Highly recommend asking for this. *** Limeade: For me, it tasted like lemonade. Sweeter than usual. Not the best. The pho tai bo vien was not bad. The broth is on the lighter side. I was expecting the eye round steak to be the thin, round cut of beef but they actually gave thicker cuts of beef. I enjoyed it & dipped with a mixture of hoisin + sriracha. The grilled beef rice plate was great. Our server suggested to get the beef over the pork rice plate, which we were skeptical at first. From our experience, we avoid ordering grilled beef because it is always made too dry so pork is often the better option. The grilled beef was not dry here & we gave it a thumbs up. Overall, we enjoyed our meal at An Nam. The restaurant is super clean, aesthetically pleasing interior, and fresh + delicious food. Can't ask for more honestly. Would like to see the service improve & it'd be nice if the food could be made a bit quicker but we were pleased with the quality overall... so can't complain haha.
