Insanely good... Amazing place that Im actively making great memories in. The food and drinks are impeccable. Do not hesitate if you see this review. This is becoming one of my favourite spots for good pho. Service is quick, kind, and helpful. Beautiful interior. You wont regret it!!!

Beautiful interior! Lots of staff, though one request I made right after placing the order was for the grilled chicken to be cut into pieces (like how it's done for the "bun" for the "com tam" dish instead), but the male server said the back is already making the order and this cannot be done. Sounds like a fib, since the order was just placed. Sounds like he didnt want to help, so I'll reduce points for service quality. Food portion is huge and it is a gorgeous presentation for the "bun". The presentation for the "com" could be better, just feels everything was placed somewhat in a disconnected way. Flavour is all there esp the fish sauce. Be warn they do use MSG in excess so be prepared to gulp gallons of water afterward. I find the Pho Ngoc Yen in Etobicoke to provide better service and not as intense usage of MSG compared to this location.

Walking into classical piano instrumentals and white collared waiters was not what we expected. Clearly, the pitch is "elevated" Vietnamese food, but does that clash with the comfort food experience? We ordered our usual: shrimp fresh rolls, a bowl of the special pho, a bowl of the rare beef pho and a Vietnamese coffee. Service was very fast, everything came within 5 min. The fresh rolls were good; peanut sauce was on point and flavors were fresh. The Vietnamese coffee was chocolatey and creamy at first, but had an acidic aftertaste. Still enjoyable, but different than usual. The pho was very rich, a bit too much so for my taste. The complexity muddled the cleanliness I usually look for. It was also really sweet, and forward on the onion and cilantro flavors. Although pricier than your usual pho restaurant, the portions felt larger and had more meat. I usually eat a large, but was stuffed with the medium. The "comfort" of it was sacrificed at the expense of elevation. It was an overall good experience, but it depends on what you're looking for. One thing is for certain though, there are plenty of pho places all around the city that easily go toe to toe with "the best pho Kehlani and Keith Lee have ever had".

A pho-bulous time was had by all! A new location opened up downtown so on a cold winter afternoon, nothing hits the spot better than a delicious bowl of pho. Luckily the space is quite large bc even at 2:30pm it was pretty packed. The space is so beautifully decorated, makes you feel you are anywhere other than the mean streets of downtown! We ordered the beef pho (the pho bowls come in Medium size, unlike other places where you can get small, medium , large etc) but medium is perfect for 2 people, especially if you want to try other dishes. The menu is quite extensive so you'll definitely find something to fill your bellies. The pho broth is just so pure and delicious, well balanced and just warms the heart :) As an Asian person, I needed my rice fix for the weekend, so also ordered the bbq chicken & rice dish. Well seasoned chicken and rice were the perfect following after the hot pho. Simple and yummy. The meal comes with hot tea. Service is great, everyone was friendly. Pay at the front, 10% cash discount! The prices are extremely reasonable.

Food is overall better than others in Toronto. Pho is good and broth is well prepared. Service is top notch and clean. Ambience is higher end. Product is priced higher than peers. The veal chop is ok, would probably skip. Pho is great. Seafood noodle soup is good and so is soft shell crab. Brussel sprouts were sweet and salty.

I've been to the Mississauga location and been to this location a couple times. The interior is nice! And this location is big. I've come with a small and big group and did not have to make any reservations. They were able to accommodate us. They ask if we had any allergies, and the food didn't take too long to come. Overall, the portions are big and I love the dishes.

The restaurant is really good with allergies so make sure you speak up! I got the Raw beef pho and it's has a sweet broth. The noodles are thinner than regular noodles. I also got the sugar cane juice but it tasted more like kalamansi more than sugar cane. The service is fast and friendly. It's a big restaurant but gets full fast. It's nicely decorated and feels more upscale.

This was such a fun experience. I've never gotten pho before, so I was actually really excited to try it for the first time. This Vietnamese restaurant is located on Adelaide, which is such a convenient spot, especially if you're downtown. It was a rainy day when we went, which honestly felt perfect for pho, the kind of weather that makes you crave something warm and comforting. The ambience is really nice. It feels cozy and family-style, but the space itself is actually pretty big. It was super busy the night we went (packed to almost every seat) and we had to wait a few minutes, but it was a pretty chill wait. The interior is clean and well kept, with cute decor and a welcoming vibe. Even though it was busy, it didn't feel chaotic, just lively. I started off with the passion fruit fizz, which is soda mixed with passion fruit juice. It was really yummy and refreshing, a little tangy but in a good way. It balanced out the richness of the meal nicely. For my main, I got the chicken pho. It came out steaming hot in a huge bowl, which I loved. The broth was light but still really flavourful, and you could tell it had been simmered properly. The chicken was tender, and there was a good amount of noodles and toppings. Adding the fresh herbs, lime, and bean sprouts made it even better. It was comforting and filling without feeling too heavy! The service was also really good. Everything came out quickly, and the staff were efficient and attentive. They checked in on us a few times to make sure everything tasted good, which I appreciated. Overall, it was such a nice spot. Great for a cozy dinner, especially when the weather calls for something warm. I'd definitely go back to try more on the menu now that I've had my first pho experience.

Came here without a reservation on a Friday night for a table for 2. Only had to wait about 15 minutes even thought it was really packed. The restaurant (Adelaide location) had lots of seats and staff were extremely friendly. I ordered the: 5 spice Lemon grass noodle with pork belly - $24 - the portion was really big and the soup base was honestly amazing! Really unique flavour that honestly felt special amongst all the different Vietnamese restaurant choices we have in Toronto. The decor is super nice too, they have good tables for large groups and small groups (or even date night!) Highly recommend and I'm excited to be back to try other items on their menu

Pho Ngoc Yen 3 is easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in Toronto. Being from NYC, I was impressed to find an extensive menu featuring seafood soup bases that I rarely see at Vietnamese spots back home. The space in this downtown location is surprisingly large yet maintains a very cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating from start to finish. We tried several noodle soups and the portions were massive--we struggled to finish our bowls and only wished we had more room to try other entrees! The only minor letdown was the spring rolls; they are air-fried rather than deep-fried. While healthier, they lack that traditional chewy-crisp texture of a deep-fried rice wrapper and are more of a "dry" crisp. However, everything else was spectacular. I can't wait to come back next time I'm in the city!

Visited several times already and everytime we received great and fast services. Here are the dishes I tried so far. - Bun Suong with fried homemade shrimp cake, grilled pork belly was fantastic. - Bbq chicken & pork with pork sausage egg quiche was also very tasty. - Their Jasmine tea and even chili oil were fantastic. - Pho was somewhat average to me - Loved grilled chicken and cocont rice - So tum with fermented baby crab was excellent. Loved chewing whole mini crab. -7 appetizer tower was good to taste little bit of everything - Absolutely loved warm fresh sesame balls with coconut ice cream & mango drizzle Would definitely return for more food. Their menu is extensive!

Pho Ngoc Yen located along Adelaide St. W. near Peter St. is a Vietnamese restaurant with 3 locations (the first two in Mississauga and Etobicoke). This particular location is their first downtown Toronto location. Featuring Southern Vietnamese dishes, the menu has crowd favourites including mango salad, fresh/fried spring rolls, pho, vermicelli, broken rice, pad Thai, and drinks. If you pay cash they give you a 10% discount (however, this would be for the whole bill, the discount is not applied if you have to split your bill). The restaurant also accepts credit as well. The restaurant is open daily where it may seem small on the outside, however, the restaurant can accommodate quite a number of customers. With high ceilings, table clothes, and napkins, the space is fully accessible where their washrooms are also gender neutral. I've heard good things about this restaurant's Mississauga location so I was excited to try it for the first time recently. My friend and I dined here on a Saturday for lunch, close to 1pm. Service was efficient and friendly. The food came pretty quickly and we didn't feel rushed at the end when we were just chatting despite the restaurant being pretty busy. I opted to get the pho ngoc yen dac biet (NY's special - rare + beef balls + boneless beef shank with rice noodles). My friend got the bun bo hue. Staff will give you hoisin sauce and siracha on a small little container. If you ask they also have fresh chopped up chilis to add to your broth as well. In regards to my pho, there was only one size (size medium for $22.75 + tax). The broth tasted sweeter than what I'm used to and definitely full of MSG as I felt quite thirsty afterwards. They also don't use fresh noodles so that was a bit of a letdown. The portion was pretty large where I was quite full! There was a lot of meat as well as beef balls in the dish which was great. Overall, a decent place for a bowl of pho in the downtown core which will leave you feeling super full. Isn't my favourite place to have pho in the city but if you're in the area this is a good option.

So Xanh Nuong (Grilled green mussels with green onions and peanuts)
    Sean K.

Winter felt like the right excuse to finally try Pho Ngoc Yen, especially since we were in the mood for something warm and comforting. A friend originally suggested DZO Viet Eatery, which I've been to before. While it was decent, it's not a place I've felt particularly drawn back to, especially given the higher price point. I ended up finding Pho Ngoc Yen instead. I'll admit the prices here also gave me pause, but since it was somewhere new, we decided to give it a shot. In the end, I'm glad we did, as I preferred it overall. The menu is much larger than what you'll typically find at Vietnamese restaurants that focus mainly on pho and fresh rolls. In fact, it was almost overwhelming at first because there were so many options. We arrived around 5:15 PM and were seated right away, but the fairly large space filled up quickly shortly after. We ordered a few dishes that aren't as commonly offered elsewhere: So Xanh Nuong (grilled green mussels with green onions and peanuts), Hu Tieu Ca Saigon (Saigon-style fish noodle soup), and a BBQ chicken dish with lemon leaf served with fried coconut sticky rice. Everything was shared, and it was more than enough food for two people. The fish noodle soup ended up being my favourite. The broth had good depth and richness, the fish pieces were generous and meaty, and it didn't feel like anything was skimped on. It did come with two fried dough sticks, which felt unnecessary to us and didn't really add much, though I assume that's traditional. The grilled mussels were flavourful and loaded with toppings, which added great texture, but they were a bit awkward to eat. Since the mussels stay attached to the shell, it's hard to take a clean bite without the toppings falling off. It's also a very large portion, so this is probably better shared with a bigger group rather than just two people. The BBQ chicken and coconut sticky rice was interesting but ended up being my least favourite dish. The chicken was tender, and the coconut rice wedges were fine if you enjoy that flavour profile. For me, it needed something to brighten it up, like a pickled element or a fresh side, and I'm generally not a big fan of sweeter rice, which didn't help. Service was good throughout the meal. The staff were friendly, helpful with recommendations, and the food came out quickly and hot. We never felt rushed. The interior is spacious and nicely decorated, with a large decorative tree in the centre that adds a bit of visual interest. At one point, the restaurant had everyone sing happy birthday for a table celebrating, which I thought was a fun touch, though I can see how it might not be for everyone. Overall, I'd recommend Pho Ngoc Yen, especially if you're looking to try Vietnamese dishes beyond the usual basics. It's a solid option for variety, generous portions, and a comfortable, lively dining space.

I previously have had Anh Dao for take out before - their pork sausages (nem nuong) are delicious and perfect when you wrap them with vermicelli and fresh herbs. Even when I got take out, the restaurant gives you plenty of fresh ingredients to create your own fresh rolls. I recently went to Anh Dao for lunch to dine in at the restaurant on a Friday around 12:30pm. The place was pretty quiet as it seemed like I was their first customer that day. During my time there, there was another party of 2 that also came in to eat lunch. I opted for the house special soup pho ($19.95). Service was friendly and my food came at a reasonable time after I ordered. The house special pho included slice rare beef, beef brisket, beef balls, and tripe. The soup was slightly sweet with a nuttier flavour. The noodles were unfortunately not the fresh kind but there were ample beef ingredients in the bowl of pho for the price you are paying. I love how in addition to siracha and hoisin sauce, there is also ground up chili sauce as well as a pickled sliced garlic and jalapeno pepper mixture at the table. Moreover, you get bean spouts, a red chili pepper, fresh herbs, and lime that you can add to your pho broth. Overall, a tasty bowl of pho where the quality of the beef was good. Anh Dao is a tasty option for Vietnamese food in the College and Spadina area. Definitely do try their meat platters as they are quite delicious!
