This review is for my second visit on 2025-06-28. Four of us came for dinner that day. My first visit was on 2025-06-12 for lunch by myself (see below). We ordered the following: 1. Spring Roll ($14). 2. Bezel Leaf Wrapped Beef with Jasmin Rice ($12). 3. Beef Pho ($22). 4. Shaking Beef ($32). 5. Grilled Chicken Noodle Bowl ($21). The customer service was good. The Spring Roll was good. We also love Bezel Leaf Wrapped Beef whenever we can order it. We were no disappointed. The Beef Pho was good. They gave extra pho broth upon request, which was nice because it was nice and hot. The broth itself tasted good. The Shaking Beef was quite good. I had it in my previous visit on 2025-06-12 and thought it was good enough to order it again! The Grilled Chicken was tender. We were impressed with the interior design! There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There are separate male/female washrooms and a separate wheelchair accessible washroom. Lovely central location, near to City Hall. Cozy ambiance, very modern and clean interior design. For late lunch, I opted for a Grilled Chicken Noodle Bowl and was very pleased with what arrived to the table. The vermicelli was perfectly cooked, the chicken was flavorful and very tender, vegetables fresh, and just enough sauce to make the dish explode with flavor. The accompanying spring rolls were delightful and though I was full, I couldn't help myself from finishing them in their entirety. Our food was delivered in no time at all! That may have been because there was almost no one in the restaurant while my dining companion and I were there. This made for a very relaxing, almost exclusive, experience but made it a bit more challenging to flag someone down when we were ready for the check or needed anything in general. I came to Senla on a Friday evening and it was surprisingly not very busy! The interior is beautiful and makes you feel like you're on vacation. Appetizer: Chicken wings: Delicious sweet flavour! Mains: Beef pho: Good and on par with other pho restaurants Shaking Beef: Good texture and taste but lacking a distinct flavour other than beef with some sauce. Comes with sides (fries and salad) which I wasn't expecting but really liked. Dessert: Cassava cake: Sweet cake with coconut ice cream. Very creamy and the perfect end to a great meal. We came here for dinner on a Thursday night and enjoyed it. The ambience is quite nice, with lots of greenery and plants, like an oasis in the city. The service was excellent. We decided to try out most of their appetizers! Spring rolls - very nice, not greasy, you could taste all the ingredients Carmelized wings - it was ok, I've had better versions Charcoal cuttlefish - this reminded me more of Humboldt squid, which I don't like, but they did such a good job that I enjoyed it! Betal leaf wrapped beef - this was an excellent version of this dish! Golden soft shell crab - I'm new to this dish and still trying to understand the appeal... my husband is an aficionado and declared it amazing! Wok seared noodles with tofu - this was our "healthy" dish after a meal full of deep fried stuff. It was ok. Lots of mushrooms, but I wouldn't call it wok "fried" per se. Overall, it was a good spot close to where we live, but I wouldn't consider it a destination spot. read more

We had dinner at Senla and we were happy with our experience. The interior is beautiful the staff were friendly and the food was delicious as well. I got their vegetarian curry and it was really hood. They have many seats available but I recommend that you book a table. read more

This is upscale Vietnamese dining at its best. The entrance is nothing special but you walk into beautifully decorated large space; clean, classic look with a hint of Asian vibe. Service is attentive and friendly, our waitress checked in several times and the food delivery was almost too quick. It wasn't busy when we arrived so perhaps that would change during peak hours. Everything on the menu is gluten free. Oddly, they don't carry any gf beer or cider. The menu isn't too big but they offer seven or eight appetizers and at least the same number of mains. We shared the spring rolls and shrimp. The spring rolls were really good but didn't have the messy crunch of the gluten-full version. The shrimp, however, was spectacular! Served with green young crisp rice and mayonnaise, they seem to melt in your mouth. My main was the Hue Beef Soup. Beautiful thick rice vermicelli, beef shank, pork hock, herbs, served in a delicate lemongrass beef broth. So good. My daughter raved about her Beef Pho. We had plans to try the banana cake for dessert but after the meal we decided we'd just have to come back. Definitely! read more

A cozy, elevated, & intimate Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of downtown Toronto. The decor is gorgeous, and it feels like you're stepping into an elegant, quiet, warm greenhouse hidden in the city. Definitely a warm welcome from the winter chill outside. Their beef pho was very flavourful, albeit on the saltier side than what I am used to. Wasn't the best pho I've had, but I had to try it sincethis is a Vietnamese restaurant. The standouts for me were their spring roll appetizer and the cassava cake with ice cream. I'd be interested in trying out their other dishes like the golden soft shell crab appetizer and grilled pork noodle bowl. Caramelised wings and shrimp fried rice were both okay, but the real star of the show was the Golden Soft Shell Crab! It was crispy and shareable, and it was on a really great salad. I'd come back just to eat this again. The ambiance and staff were nice, but I'm docking two stars because they said that they couldn't do individual receipts for our group. That's really a terrible practice, because it means that one person had to put a $550 charge on their card and make sure that everyone sent him e-transfers. Awful. read more

A modern and upscale Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of downtown Toronto. We came here with low expectations on food but we were pleasantly surprised by how food everything was. The waitress was excellent and gave us great attention and recommendations. The papaya salad was flavored so well. The sugarcane juice is excellent. You must order it for sure. Came here for lunch with my coworker who highly recommended it, you don't need a reservation. The inside deco has a high end vibe with dim lights. We ordered a beef pho, chicken dried noodles and grilled duck breast salad as appetizer. Duck breast salad is definitely good, serve warm with grill/charcoal taste. Beef pho broth is also very clear yet savory and has a lot of meat in it, worth the value, but the more I drank the broth I find it more salty/savory. The portion is large, so I would recommend just order 1 dish per person and it would be good enough as lunch. read more

Service was impeccable, with such tasteful decor and the sublime ambiance transcends your dining experience to another level. I recommend the Betel Leaf wrapped beef it was savory and warm with a cool creaminess of the dip making a perfect marriage of opposing flavors. The food was seriously amazing. The ambience was nice, not too loud but not too quiet. You can tell all of the staff know how to work front and back of house and that they work as a team. The service is pretty good, they will come over when they know you are ready to order or have empty plates, so there was little interuptions. The entire time my partner and I could only talk about how good the food was, especially for the price. For the taste alone, I am surprised there isn't a line out the door. read more
