My friends said that this was the best pho in Richmond, so I knew I had to come here for dinner on a frigid and chilly evening. When we first walked in, it was empty except for the servers so we were seated immediately. The servers were nice and talked to us in Cantonese and Vietnamese. I ordered the "#12 Pho Dac Biet (Special Pho)" just to get a variety of the meats they offer here. It was $12.95 and the portions were large so I was excited to dig in. The amount of meat they gave was extremely generous and I was able to get a bite or piece of meat for each spoon of noodles. The meat quality was just OK but I'm not complaining because I don't have high expectations for meat at pho places. I liked that the brisket doesn't have a large chunk of fat like other restaurants tend to have. I really like the noodles in terms of texture and taste. It soaked up the flavor of the broth well. The broth was a bit too salty on its own and I feel like it lacked beef and ox bone flavor. It seemed to rely more on salt and other savory seasonings rather than meat. My boyfriend and I stopped by to check this place out and I don't think we'll go back. Everything about this place just didn't sit well with us. I'm not sure if they were still doing some last minute touches or if some of the glue didn't dry yet but the whole place smelled like a construction site. The food didn't really impress us and even the water tasted a bit off, leaving you with a unpleasant after taste. My boyfriend and I had the spring rolls. While the peanut sauce was pretty good, we couldn't get past the chewy texture of the rice paper. It was odd because the outside of rice paper was fine but the inside of it where all of the filling was tucked in was very dense and chewy. We've never had a spring roll like this before and it was very unappetizing. I actually had to spit those pieces out and eat around it. We had the vermicelli pork with egg rolls (bun thit nuong cha gio) and the broken rice with pork chop (com suong). The portions were on the smaller side for the price you're paying. The egg rolls were delicious but the marinated pork lacked flavor, the vermicelli noodles were really cold and hard to eat. The pork chop was 2 small pieces and the majority of it was just fat. The servers were friendly but you could tell they've never waited before and one of them was spending mire time capturing things for social media than running the restaurant. Also, one of the nearby tables asked for a new cup of water because there was something in their cup, I saw the waiter pour out a portion of the water, and just refilled it instead of replacing the whole thing. read more

We first went to pho tay do but went in and they pointed out they are cash only so we left and came here. Thank God we did cause they weren't busy at all. Besides us, there was only 1 other person there. I got my usual when I go to a pho place. I got pho gai and my husband got the vermicelli noodle. My pho was surprisingly tasty. My husband enjoyed his too. We both got water and its just tap water and u can tell so I didnt drink mine. They had good music playing. Food came out quick since its just us. My usual two go-to places for Pho were packed, so I swung in here to give it a try. Ooh, lots to say! The decor looks like a banquet room. It looks like they were going for a more upscale look to have Pho because you know most Pho places are pretty cafeteria-ish as far as ambiance goes. There is are three crystal chandeliers and white covered tables and chairs. However, there is also a painted cinder block wall, big screen tv on football over the bar, and a giant screen showing the camera pointed at the diningroom. So, it's really bizarre in that way. The prices reflect the chandeliers. It's a little more than the other pho restaurants near by, but it's not going to crush you. The service is more attentive than the typical pho restaurant. You know it's "efficient." They take your order, set your food down, give you the check, and that's pretty much it. This was a cut above that. But what you really want to know is how was the food? The pho was very flavorful. It comes in a gigantic bowl. The menu options are what you'd expect. So, if you want to try something different, give it a go. I think you will like it. read more

The items that had chicken -the chicken was overcooked and dry. Totally inedible. Not a lot of flavor. The pork dishes were also overcooked and dry. The order was two hours late.
