Summer rolls with peanut sauce
Amy M.

This is one of the restaurants in the "food court" type area of Lotte Market. That's really convenient because I am usually starving after seeing all the yummy things I want to purchase at the store. While hubs ordered fried rice from next door, I opted for my favorite: Banh mi with pork belly and a shrimp summer roll. The food came really quickly (faster than hub's food, I win!) and I absolutely LOVED that since I ordered my food to-go, that they gave me a little packet on the side with all of the veggies in it, so none of them got soggy and wilted from being on top of the fried pork belly! I'm a sucker for the little things like this that make food so much better. The pork belly was FIRE! It was delicious, and then had some pieces that were so crispy and delightful: sort of like adding pork rinds for texture. It was a really great combo. The summer rolls were also delicious, exactly how I like them to be with loads of fresh veggies and herbs, and the peanut sauce was really good too. I love a good peanut sauce. This whole area looks and feels just like a mall food court (albeit one where they text you when your food is done, or give you one of those pagers to notify you when your food is done) so there aren't a ton of people crowding up the area while you are trying to order, which I liked. I'll definitely be back for another sandwich and rolls when I do my shopping here next.

R7 vermicelli with "grilled pork" $12.50

Let's just call this what it is: fast food. The rocket shrimp was hot ,greasy and hit the spot. But the Vermicelli w/ Grilled Pork was just ok. They give you a good portion and that's awesome. The lemongrass flavor was there but overall the flavor was real flat. They did not provide any hot sauce and the sauce with it didn't really taste like nuoc mam or cham it was mostly just sweet and did not have enough fish sauce, that part was a personal taste thing though. The meat was really thin like frozen gyro meat but that's not the bad part at all because cuts are cuts but the problem is it tasted really "machiney". I can't explain it, but it tasted like a factory Or dusted with propane... whatever, I can't explain it. I wasn't expecting better than my usual Vietnamese place, but I guess this is good enough for someplace fast and small

The most disappointing "spring rolls" I've ever had. Located in food court of Lotte. I Wouldn't order these again.

Damn, what a hidden gem! We stumbled upon the greatest spot. @We_hungryaf Will has his finger on the pulse of good eats. The Pho Spot is part of a bigger shopping area that's next level. This place has everything--a market, a bakery, and more. These types of places used to be only up north, but now they're here too. I love everything about the concept of this business. If you need help finding something interesting about these businesses, you are the problem. Every region of my DNA was covered three times over. We ordered three things: a Banh mi sandwich, shrimp tempura, and pho soup. I was a bit confused about my order because I thought the shrimp was for the pho, but the pho already had lots of meat in it. The sandwich was okay, but not great. The bread was too soft and not crusty enough. It needed more filling and less bread. The meat tasted good, but there wasn't enough of it, and I'm not a big eater. It wasn't the type of bread I had had the sandwich prepared with before. The pho soup, though, was amazing! I love pho, but all broth is not created equal. The broth here was perfect. It was the best pho I've ever had. I'm not an expert, but I know good soup when I taste it. I love a great-tasting broth. You should definitely try this place. You'll like it or maybe even love it. I'm going back for sure. The atmosphere, the variety, and the quality of the food make it a must-visit spot. Whether you're a foodie or just looking for a new place to eat, The Pho Spot won't disappoint.

This is my first time ever trying Bahn Mi. I chose the roasted pork belly. The meat was rich and crunchy (watch out if you have issues with your teeth, I do that's why I mentioned that, at first thought it was bone but in reality it was the outer part of the pork belly, like cracklings) but could have been more generous with the me meat, $9. The sauce in the little container to pour in the sandwich was delicious. The vegetables were incredibly fresh. Will not order again because I would like to try a different filling next time.

First time trying The Pho Spot. It was actually pretty good. Broth was tasty, along with all other items. Loved the mini sriracha packets. Their set up with order keypad makes it quick and easy to get your order placed. Creative packaging for pho to go orders, to complete the dish on your own. Looking forward to trying other items. Great and friendly staff!

The facility is WAY to big to have only 1 old man serving and hosting at the same time. Especially on a weekend. Not worth the wait and once i saw there was literally 4 tables who just had menus on their tables waiting to order.. i knew i had to get out before i realize that i waited over 40minutes to order. So i left right away. I may try them one day but definitely not worth dining at a place that cant spend money on waiters for their restaurant on a weekend.

I read about it on a Northern VA Foodie Facebook group and just happened to be staying in the area the next day, so I stopped in with a coworker who really loves Pho too. It's a small house in a neighborhood filled with similar sized houses, but it was easy to find, as it was the only 'house' on the street with a large parking lot, which was packed! I walked in and the inside was packed too, and that was around 1PM. But I was immediately greeted and he said he'd clean a table for us. We sat down and checked the menu and I was happy to see such a huge variety of so many Vietnamese delights, not just lots of Pho, but different styles of entrées and appetizers too. I tried their Phở Tái (thinly sliced, rare, beef eye round) and my coworker got Phở Ga (chicken Pho). We also started with their pork crispy spring roll and their summer roll. Both rolls were really tasty and made with fresh ingredients. The Pho we ordered was beautifully served and tasted great! The richness and depth of flavor in the Phở Tái was so nice. The accoutrement that came with the Pho was extremely fresh. Overall, this was a very nice experience. Food quality and flavor were spot on. Service was Very Friendly and Great! The menu is loaded with many Vietnamese delights, but I was only there for Pho, so I asked what broths they make and was surprised to learn they make beef, chicken, and vegetable broths for their Pho! Many places I visit only seem to make a beef, so I was happy to be able to enjoy chicken broth with my Phở gà. I told him to pack the order securely as I had a long drive home, but that clearly didn't happen. I didn't wait long for my order, maybe 10 minutes total and when I got it, it was in a tied plastic bag, which I carried out. I felt heat on the bottom and thought maybe one of the lids leaked, so when I looked at the lids, they were very poorly secured, which is an issue. They bought terrible, cheap, low-grade quart containers, which barely hold the lid. So I seatbelted the bag in my front seat and made it home fine. But when unpacking at home, I noticed the large round containers they put the main food in had lids that was sitting on top of the base, but didn't lock on at all - Again, cheap containers. They also had a nice assortment of accoutrement in that container, but everything was mixed together, both the cold and the hot - this is NOT appropriate. You should never pack cold and hot things in a single vessel when food is "to go." Even still, we separated everything and when it came time to eat, the noodles were so soft, they were melting. The broth was on the bland side, so I found myself adding Sriracha and salt for the first time ever to my Pho broth. The veggies were fresh though. The chicken looked and tasted good, but there were several odd, dark pieces in it that wasn't appetizing to come across. Overall - I really wanted to love this experience, especially since the smell inside that restaurant was great, but I feel it was slightly less than was it should have been. I'd say this was a 3.5 star visit, but will rate on the hi-end at 4 stars. Would I return? Not for Pho.

Also, their hoisin sauce was a cheap offbrand and fish sauce/vinegar dipping sauce was way too sweet. Soup isn't a meal -- it's a thick beverage. Like a milkshake, but made of tomatoes and eaten while a grilled cheese sandwich watches in judgment. Pho is different.
