Stopped by here for lunch since the husband was craving a good bowl of pho, wasn't surprised to see the restaurant was busy as it had good reviews. The seating arrangement inside was a little unconventional, it wasn't accommodating to our stroller (but they do have a space to place them). The restaurant was otherwise clean (perhaps a little bland in decor) as was their restrooms (did not have baby change table though) and the staff were super attentive and helpful in offering recommendations/general service. The location is out of the busy heart of flushing. The price point was slightly cheaper than average, portion size was generous and the wait time for being served our food was only a short 10-15 minutes. Thoughts on the food.... Husband (beef brisket, tendon and beef ball pho, #1) - thinks the overall flavour was 7/10, very run-of-the-mill. What he was served only includes ONE HALF of a beef ball. Wife (crispy spring roll, pork, grilled shrimp on thin rice noodles with salad, #20) - unlike the husband, I enjoyed my dish very nice, add the accompanying dressing on top of everything and the dish was easily a 8.5/10. Very hearty serving, shrimps perfectly cooked with that smoky chargrilled element, the slightly sweet pork was good quality, the crispy spring rolls were the icing on the cake, toppings ratio to noodles was good too. I wouldn't have changed anything except perhaps wanted another shrimp or 2, still highly recommend!!! Dessert (banana bread pudding with ice cream) - Portion size was good for 2 people, especially after having eaten your mains, good price of only $4.50, liked the silky texture of the ice cream against the softly chewy pudding. Pho Metro deserves 5 stars just for the phenomenal over the top friendly service. The food is pretty good too. Everything on the menu is great. The Bahn Mi is legit with great bread. The Pho has great broth which is the most important factor for me for Pho. If you're worried about Covid they space the tables for enough apart for safety. Great spot. read more

He made sure we were catered to and that we were enjoying everything. He passed by our table often and talked and joked with us. He was a pleasure to be around! We also got the bbq ribs as a starter. We told our servers that we'd consider dessert and our starter and entree and we ended up ordering #43 bahn flan (caramel flan). The bf rates his dish 4.5/5. The meats are very smoky--flavored well. He liked the fact that it wasn't overly salty or sweet. My #1 was tasty! Small portions but insanely high prices. It's hard to mess up pho but I'm guessing it's a bunch of Hispanics in the back making the food. Ordered beef cube over rice and man that was some of the most slimy beef. So soft and no texture felt like it was just boiled in water and then dose in sauce. You can go anywhere else, Pho Bang or Pho Best or even Pho Huang and the portion and the taste is better. What are you doing in the back? Do you even have a actual broth cooking or are you just winging it and keep hoping the clueless foreigner think this is real pho? This is a joke. Although the servers were nice and quick to help us, this is not authentic Vietnamese food. Had the pho and grilled chicken vermicelli salad. The noodles in the pho were undercooked, broth tasted off. The grilled chicken was so bland, had the gamey chicken smell, and there were hardly any vegetables in the salad. All they gave were a few pieces of ripped iceberg lettuce, and the pickled radish/carrots. Definitely not worth the price. You can get way more authentic and cheaper options in Flushing. read more

Stopped in for a quick bite with my mom and sisters. I usually never come to this shopping center because it just feels so grimey and ratchet in my opinion. But my mom insisted that this was a hidden gem! Boy was she right! the spot is not huge, but not small. Plenty of seating. The menu is simple and prices are great! None of us ended up ordering Pho lol. For apps we ordered the ribs and crispy spring rolls. WOW the spring rolls were delicious, as were the ribs! There was a bit of a wait for our apps, but the service was overall great. I ordered the grilled chicken with rice noodles. Everything tasted so flavorful and fresh! I'd say 2.5 Spring rolls were nice but for price expected at least 1 (or 2) more. Got #1 pho w/raw meat on side. the meat was sliced quite thick -- 1 mm at least -- shouldn't be measurable like that. doesn't help with the cooking in broth that should happen. After meal pho at bottom was a bit gritty. not cool! broth taste wise clean but bit bland. read more

They are currently offering limited dine-in. I love their pho chin and their spring rolls! I would recommend take out during COVID. Absolutely delicious, and satisfying to your pho cravings. Definitely a 4.5 in my opinion but Yelp doesn't have that option (c'mon Yelp! half stars count too!) I am Vietnamese and having lived in north Texas and then moving to NYC, I have been more than desperate for a decent pho place that doesn't break the bank and isn't too difficult to get to. I know there are plenty of places in Flushing for a great bowl but just getting into the area is such a headache. Pho Metro has definitely changed the game for me. It's located in a rather out of the way shopping center but that just meant there was lots of free parking! Already a win in my book. The service was very fast and efficient. I appreciated the fact that it only took less than hour from when we walked in the door to when we walked out. We ordered the cha gio appetizer and it was different than what I was used to. The wrapper is not the same as the cha gios from my childhood but it didn't mean it was bad at all. With a squirt of sriracha into the nuoc mam, my little packet of mint, pickled veggies, cha gio, and lettuce was a pretty good starter. I got the #2 and my only thing was I wish I had gotten the meat on the side because I like it pretty rare. The broth was piping hot and very flavorful. Trust me when I say that I am very very very picky when it comes to pho and this hit the spot! The portion was decent, but since I don't eat much all in one sitting, it could be considered "too small" for some people. It was enough for me to feel nicely full but not gross. It came with the traditional basil, bean sprouts, jalapeños (thinly sliced, which I like!), and baby lime wedge. I thought the ratio of noodles to meat was actually great! M got the #31 and he liked it. I didn't try it since he wolfed it down too quickly for me to even grab a spoonful! Note his utensils already hard at work in the picture haha! Had lunch here today. Had the shrimp rolls, the garlic fried chicken wings, beef pho and grilled pork chop over rice and I had the banana bread pudding with ice cream for dessert. All the food was amazing and the service was excellent. I came here with my wife and infant daughter and everyone was treated well. The location was a bit out of the way but the benefit of that is a very nice parking lot that was not as crowded as what you'll usually find in NY. 1) shrimp rolls were excellent, very large shrimp that was expertly seasoned. Wrapped in a fine rice paper roll and came with an excellent peanut dipping sauce. 2) garlic fried chicken wings: crispy, not greasy, very strong flavor and excellent texture. Both the appetizers came with a small side of pickled daikon and carrots which had a nice acidic tang and refreshes the palate well. 3) the pho had an amazing depth of flavor and the meat was fresh. Condiments were usual for pho with chop suey, basil and lime wedge. All in all, an excellent pho that at least rivals anything else I've had in flushing and personally I think its the best. 4) grilled pork chop over rice - 2 nice big pieces of pork chop that are well seasoned, excellently grilled and very juicy. The rice was a very nicely steamed jasmine rice and the house salad had a varied salad max with cucumbers, tomatoes with an excellent dressing. 5) the banana bread pudding was moist, had a strong but not overpowering banana taste and it had some raisins and nuts mixed in. The ice creamed seemed like a french vanilla bean ice cream that paired well with the bread pudding and gave a good temperature contrast between the cold ice cream and warm bread pudding. Is it just me? Maybe it is, but I can't see the reasons for the hype, or the high rating. Always eager to try a new pho spot because lesbehonest, pho in NY is kind of subpar to everywhere else in the states. Hoping for a breathe of fresh air for something pho'nominal without paying an arm and a leg for. This place has the potential to do the right things and they missed the mark for me. The place is bright and fresh with a hip young vibe. It's got a clean simple straight forward menu with nothing overwhelming the hungry mind, but when a place does that, you'd expect them to be a master of their craft. Maybe my opinion is harsh but I'd like to see them improve and do well, I truly do. The papaya salad was a big miss. Little jerky bits as beef and skimpy on the shrimp (2 shrimps spliced in half), when you think of papaya salad, you want that bright aromatic refreshing feel to it that just opens up your appetite even more, for $7 it felt like watching your kid get his candy stolen from a grown ass adult. Not cool. The springrolls were pretty small and felt like watching that same kid of yours getting bullied by a smaller kid, kind of awkward. The pho should be a specialty here and it had a lot of short comings kinda like the kid in the previous examples. It was small in portion, noodles were mushy, and the one thing that matters the most to me, the broth, was lacking that deep intense aroma of spices and boiled-to-death bone richness. Overall it was a lackluster experience and I would like to give them another try, because it could've just been an off day, but to be that off, I doubt it. Happened upon this pho place with some friends while in Flushing and have been a few times since then. It is in a small shopping strip, adjacent to a really large shopping strip off the highway. The parking lot is really small, so sometimes you have to street park. The restaurant is a decent size, clean, and decorated with Vietnamese art. They do not have vegetarian pho, so I had pho with tofu with chicken broth. The broth was deep and flavorful, and the noodles were well-cooked. The tofu was pretty bad, so I would considering leaving it out. However, 4/5 overall. I have also had the Goi Cuon (3.5/5): Decent rendition of goi cuon, but the pieces are pretty small compared to the usual, and the price does not match up well with the amount you get. Overall, I do really like Pho Metro and definitely plan to return! read more

When it comes to Pho places in Queens, I feel like it is pretty tricky. I noticed Pho Metro as I was driving on the highway, and automatically Yelp'd it because it seemed fairly new. Let's start off by saying, the Pho is legit and great. The broth was so flavorful! The restaurant itself was very clean, and modern... you can tell it is a brand new spot. The staff was very nice and super attentive. One of the guys overheard us speaking about Vietnamese coffee, and offered us a small sample. So nice! (ps. make sure to order yourself a Vietnamese coffee) Their Pho bowls, are all one size where as some places give you the option of choosing small or medium. So if you are hungry, make sure to get some appetizers. We also got pork chop over rice. Their pork chops were also very flavorful and not so greasy as some places. Don't let the strip mall location in a shady part of town stop you from trying this place. It's completely worth it. This is my favorite pho in the tri-state area - it is generously portioned, the broth is fragrant and herbaceous in such a good way. I add a swirl of hot sauce and a squeeze of lime and smiles ensue. The noodles and sliced beef in it are really lovely quality. Their spare rib app is really, really good - tender, well seasoned. Their spring rolls are spectacular and the perfect refreshing vehicle to deliver all that yummy peanut dipping sauce. The bahn mi is tasty and the fillings are delicious and authentic - I just wish the bread was more baguette and less toasted deli roll. The reviews seem pretty accurate. This place is definitely very clean and has a minimalistic feel to it. Parking is easy since they have their own lot and if not I'm sure you can get away with parking in the lot across from it. I got the beef pho with everything in it and thought the brisket was perfect, sometimes places make it too well done but theirs resembles the rare beef more than brisket (which is my preference). I didn't have an issue with the noodle/meat/broth proportion that other people seemed to have. I also tried the shrimp roll and thought the grilled shrimp with the fresh lettuce and noodles was a very good mix- however you only get two small pieces. Amazing food, great service and a very nice ambiance. My favorite dishes so far are the pork ribs and the chicken wings, they are very well seasoned and full of great flavors. The Pho Dac Billet and the special sandwich are also delicious and are full of wonderful aromas and flavors. Today, I tried the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream on top, OMG! It was amazingly delicious. The best part was the service that Darwin provided. He was vey personable and paid attention to every detail of service, he checked on us often, and he also offered us their delicious house tea. #1 Pho Dac Biet: 4.5/5 very flavorful - not water down like other places. Not enough meats in my opinion and had only two beef balls. #20 Bun Dac Biet: 3.5/5 sauce was not as flavorful as I thought it could be. Spring roll was crunchy A+, bbq pork was ok, and cheap on grilled shrimps. #11 Goi Cuon: 3/5 portion was super tiny - like fun size. The sauce they provided was tasty. #4 Pho Ga: 3.5/5 the chicken soup tasted clean - but the flavor of the chicken was lacking; I couldn't really taste the chicken flavor when I was drinking them. The shredded chicken was lack of flavor - had to use sriracha and hoisin sauce for help. #10 Cha Gio: 4/5 the size of the spring roll were tiny. the sauce was delicious - I can def taste a strong fish sauce and it was also slightly sweet as well. The vinaigrette radish that came with it was nicely seasoned. Portions are on the smaller size and a little expensive for how much you get. But I believe it is quality over quantity. This is a new pho spot in town and it did not disappoint. I've had many bowls of pho before at other places but they do not compare to the one I had here at Pho Metro. I had the #5 (bun bo hue) and it's the perfect combination of flavor and spice. The ratio of noodle to broth to meat was just right. They are really generous with the portions! I had plenty of meat, which was so tender and full of flavor. They have sriracha and hoisin sauce at every table but I barely used them because of how flavorful the dish was on its own. This is HUGE because anyone who knows me knows that I drench my food in sriracha all the time to add more flavor. I am not exaggerating when I say that this was THE BEST bowl of pho I've ever had. I also ordered the #10 (crispy spring roll) and was blown away. There is so much meat and crunchy goodness packed into the roll and it was the perfect start to my meal. It comes with vegetables and a yummy sauce that you can wrap the roll in to get all the flavors at once. Pho Metro has pieces of beautiful Vietnamese art hanging around which added to the authenticity of the whole experience. The staff is super friendly and gave great recommendations that did not disappoint. They also have gluten free and vegetarian options and will make substitutions to meet your dietary needs. I will definitely be back here soon with my friends and family. Everything is super affordable, less than $10 per dish! There is a parking lot which is super convenient. My second time visiting this place and I decided to bring a friend because the crispy rolls and beef and pork Pho were good, plus its close to my job. This place is my first time trying Pho, so my review can't analyze the Pho technique. Well we found a very long piece of hair in our cooked beef Pho. It was very disappointing. We made our waitress aware and though she was nice and apologetic we were not comp our meal or offered anything for something I consider disgusting. I truly get nauseous when there is hair found in my food. They gave us another bowl with way less meat too. We barely touched it and I actually tossed it in the garbage this morning. I wont be returning because I don't feel that mistake was made right and also I can't help but to wonder how many hairs are marinating in the broth. My only regret is not taking a picture. Super clean, white interior that I'm actually really digging. A new pho place that recently opened up and when the pho craving hit, I was hoping this place would satisfy the hunger. Chock full of meat and a good portion of noodles, I was full. However, it was missing the other "extras" that I typically find in a bowl of pho like tendons or tripe. Maybe they opted out of that since not everyone loves that stuff, but a little variety would have been welcomed. The broth was flavorful, but nothing that really wowed me. I did have to add a little hoisin for some more flavor, but nothing really stood out which is a good and bad thing. Yes, this pho is just what you want, but no, it won't be the best pho you ever had. For $8.50 a bowl, you really can't complain and because of that and the service, I'll definitely be back again. They were extremely quick with the food and super friendly. Located in a shopping mall area, came to check it out after doing a little grocery shopping. Menu is limited but that's fine since what they do serve was delicious. L ordered the #5 which is the Spicy bowl of Pho, comes with a plate of sprouts, lime, etc. It wasn't spicy for me, but the broth was very clean tasting and had plenty of flavor. He enjoyed it so much that he wants to come back soon. We also received 2 extremely hot jasmine teas that was served in a wine glass... I had to wait a while to drink it. L had to order an Iced coffee which he really wanted regardless. Iced coffee was strong, but very sweet which was perfect for him. I had the grilled pork rice vermicelli salad. It was so good! It's not a huge portion, but I did take half of it home since I was still full from lunch. It was still delicious the following evening. Portions are ok, not as generous as the other spot, but definitely authentic. Really clean inside which is always a huge plus for me and the staff is great as well. L forgot to take his bank card...luckily we didn't leave the area yet since Uber was kinda pricey. I had to rush back to the restaurant since L was busy at the time, and our waiter saw me coming back and gave me the card ASAP. So definitely best Vietnamese food I've had since I haven't been to that many, but everything tasted so clean and fresh. Pho Metro sits right off the Whitestone expressway in a big shopping complex next to Stop n Shop. I was upset when the Papa Johns that used to sit at this spot closed but when I saw the sign of a Vietnamese restaurant opening up I got excited because it is just a few minute drive with a parking lot from me. I've been to this spot a few times and will probably be back whenever I'm craving Vietnamese. The menu selection is pretty short but that's because they chose quality over quantity. This place isn't that watered down American-viet, this is authentic Vietnamese dishes. So far I've had the #10 Cha Giò (crispy springroll), #12 Goi Cuon Tom (grilled shrimp with rice paper), #14 Goi Dudu (papaya/shrimp/beef salad) appetizers and have tried the #1 pho dac biet (beef noodle with beef, brisket, tendon and beef ball) and #5 bun bo hue (beef and pork shank spicey rice noodle) My favorite pho is the pho dac biet. For 8.50 the serving size was like any other pho spots, flavor wasn't too overwhelming but they put real effort into the broth. The noodle to meat ratio was good. If you've never come here and try their ICE COFFEE, it's a MUST! They have one of the best viet coffee in flushing. Darwin also accommodated is very well, he followed COVID procedures, temperature check and all. LOVE his service and makes us feel safe coming in here to eat. We ordered 3 #1 and 1 #20. Food here is also very very good, better then some of the shops on Northern Blvd. My friend is also viet and he has always recommend this place cause it feels like home flavor for him.
