So excited to have this pho restaurant here. No need to go to the crazy traffic of Main Street to have some decent Vietnamese food. This new restaurant appears to be very clean and has a modern feel to it. They even have high chairs which I'm very happy about. We ordered the crispy spring rolls for an appetizer (#10) , the pho dac biet (#1), the beef & pork shank in spicy noodle broth (#5), and an iced Vietnamese coffee. Crispy spring rolls were nicely fried and so delicious with the fish sauce. We could've used more lettuce wrap though but nonetheless superb. The pho had great depth, very tasty. There were a decent amount of meat, plenty of noodles and yummy heartwarming broth. We did think the spicy noodles was a little lackluster - it was watered down. Coffee was nice and strong. Food is alright but extra meat is a huge scam! I swear I ordered pork vermicelli with extra extra meat and it came out looking like my regular pork vermicelli with normal meat. They only have a one size fits all container so there's no room for extra extra meat. Yet they have the audacity to charge $3.5 for extra meat. I should had just went down the street and got a whole bowl of extra meat from the #1 Teriyaki for the $7 I wasted at Metro Pho. Seriously I hate how stingy Asian restaurants are with meat. The best Vietnamese food in Flushing! My boyfriend and I came in during the weekday. We were seated immediately and given hot tea to warm ourselves. Our server (I didn't catch his name but he was super enthusiastic and friendly) let us know they were having a chicken wing appetizer special so we decided to try it in mild. It was delicious! It's a dry rub chicken wing and comes with pickled vegetables and lettuce. It was so good my boyfriend ordered it again in spicy. For entrees, he got the Bo luc lac (#34) and I got the Bun Dac Biet (#20). Everything was delicious. The Bo luc lac wasn't too salty and was the right amount of food. The Bun dac biet was tasty, lots of vegetables and variety. For dessert, we tried the banh chuoi kem (#44). The banana bread pudding is served with vanilla ice cream. It tastes just like my moms. If I had to provide any feedback here is to serve the bread warm cos it'll taste even better with the ice cream :) Overall, we enjoyed our meal here. I've eaten at a lot of pho places in NY and I haven't found anything as good as the places I've been to in Houston (I've never been to Vietnam so I can't compare) until now. Pho Metro surprisingly comes pretty close! The broth tasted authentic and I love that their #1 comes with meat AND beef balls. The con: there isn't that much meat or balls to begin with. The spring rolls are good and meaty, but for 4 rolls, the price was on the expensive side. And you can't go wrong with Viet iced coffee! I would recommend Pho Metro, specifically for the pho. I need to preface this review by saying that we have no photos of the food because we were too eager to eat all the delicious items we ordered. We had the chicken wings special, spring rolls, beef pho, and banana bread pudding for dessert. Everything was super fresh and delicious! Flavors were incredibly clean and so tasty. We received lotus tea with our dessert and the flavors complimented each other so well. Also, thank you to the staff! Everyone is so personable and really good at their jobs. It was so nice to see their teamwork at play and their attention to detail is what contributed to our experience being so great. We never ran out of napkins, condiments, or water. Glad I tried Pho Metro, but only a solid 3-stars for me, namely because the memorable items I'd want to eat again aren't the joint's name sake. To start out with the good, the UberEats process went super smoothly, with a very reasonable delivery time and everything still being at a good temperature when it arrived. Loved those Canh Ga Chien (wings) and really liked the Suon Nuong (ribs). I'd order both again in a heart beat. Liked the added flavor from PM grilling the shrimp for the Goi Cuon Tom (their summer roll). And I'm all about tails on for shrimp dishes where you can see the tail. Never having had their version before plus so much rice paper used that I couldn't see through it, unexpectedly swallowing a shrimp tail didn't make for a pleasurable bite. And while the peanut sauce was delicious, the roll itself didn't have the standalone freshness and flavor this appetizer usually has. The Bon Bo Hue (spicy pho) was simply so so. I didn't find it to be spicy. I was given mint instead of basil, which really impacted the overall flavor profile. The meat was certainly tender, but the majority of the flavor I received was from the chili sauce and hoisin (the broth - which I tried on its own - was fine, but light). And the noodles they use are more like udon than thin vermicelli. Depending on what options are on the table, I'd consider trying again to see whether another one of PM's pho dishes is more to my liking, or try a rice dish, and certainly order the ribs and wings again. read more

Ever since my wife and I moved from the west coast to New York, we've had a lot of difficulty finding authentic Vietnamese food out here. This place hands down is the most authentic Vietnamese restaurant food place that we've ever been to in New York. She never eats pho and to order pho and say it's the best she's had in a long time, says a lot. Not only is the food great, but the service from my Filipinos and Filipinas here is incredible. Definitely did not feel like New York since they had great customer service! The place is really clean, well lit, and two unisex clean restrooms! Ordered beef cube over rice and man that was some of the most slimy beef. So soft and no texture felt like it was just boiled in water and then dose in sauce. Although the servers were nice and quick to help us, this is not authentic Vietnamese food. Had the pho and grilled chicken vermicelli salad. The noodles in the pho were undercooked, broth tasted off. The grilled chicken was so bland, had the gamey chicken smell, and there were hardly any vegetables in the salad. All they gave were a few pieces of ripped iceberg lettuce, and the pickled radish/carrots. Definitely not worth the price. You can get way more authentic and cheaper options in Flushing. read more

When I read the reviews I was a little skeptical about how good this place is. But boy, people are right! The food here is SO GOOD! Officially my fave bowl of pho in Queens! The broth was perfect. Like others said, most places water down their broth. But here, its so flavorful and smooth. I finished the whole bowl and I rarely do that. For apps we ordered the spring rolls. At first I noticed how small they were compared to other places, but they made up for it in flavor. They tasted so fresh and homemade, like they have a vietnamese grandma in the kitchen making the food. Next time we will have to order more. Husband and I ordered the iced coffee, which was pretty legit. Nice and strong with just the right amount of condensed milk. Service was excellent thanks to Darwin! Stopped by here for lunch since the husband was craving a good bowl of pho, wasn't surprised to see the restaurant was busy as it had good reviews. The seating arrangement inside was a little unconventional, it wasn't accommodating to our stroller (but they do have a space to place them). The restaurant was otherwise clean (perhaps a little bland in decor) as was their restrooms (did not have baby change table though) and the staff were super attentive and helpful in offering recommendations/general service. The location is out of the busy heart of flushing. The price point was slightly cheaper than average, portion size was generous and the wait time for being served our food was only a short 10-15 minutes. Thoughts on the food.... Husband (beef brisket, tendon and beef ball pho, #1) - thinks the overall flavour was 7/10, very run-of-the-mill. What he was served only includes ONE HALF of a beef ball. Wife (crispy spring roll, pork, grilled shrimp on thin rice noodles with salad, #20) - unlike the husband, I enjoyed my dish very nice, add the accompanying dressing on top of everything and the dish was easily a 8.5/10. Very hearty serving, shrimps perfectly cooked with that smoky chargrilled element, the slightly sweet pork was good quality, the crispy spring rolls were the icing on the cake, toppings ratio to noodles was good too. I wouldn't have changed anything except perhaps wanted another shrimp or 2, still highly recommend!!! Dessert (banana bread pudding with ice cream) - Portion size was good for 2 people, especially after having eaten your mains, good price of only $4.50, liked the silky texture of the ice cream against the softly chewy pudding.
