The chicken pho is soooo good the broth is the best in El Monte!! When I come back from the bay i usually have to make a stop here! The broth is so clean and so flavorful in depth! Have not been here for a long time and ordered bun bo hue, Banh cuon, hainam chicken and pho to go. The food quality has really declined since the last time I was here. My kids are not picky eaters and barely touched the food and said never to go back. The only order that tasted ok was the banh cuon. Pho was bland, sauce for hainam chicken has no flavor, rice was plain white rice. Noodles for bun bo hue was all broken pieces, pork hock was gamey and broth was just meh. Came here few times in a week because the food tasted so delicious. I found Pho LTK on instagram and saw a lot of posted photos. We ordered the Chicken Pho, Bun Bo Bue, and Lemongrass Pork chops the first time we visited because it seem to be the very known popular items. We did not regret it. The chicken is so moist and tenderand the broth is so flavorful and not greasy at all. Bun Bo Hue is usually my go to at any pho restaurant so I was stoked to try the one here. They do not jip out on the meat, it's a good amout portion, I was amazed by how delicious and soft the pork feet tasted. Noodle was not oevrcooked with the crunch, broth with a perfect amount of flavor and spicy. Lemongrass Pork Chop is a must. the Pork chop is very juicy and and tender, you will probably need extra rice for it. I heard a lot of great things about Pho LTK so I knew I had to come here during my visit to SoCal. This placed lived up to the hype!! Their speciality, Pho Ga, was very tasty and authentic. This was my favorite dish! We also ordered the spring rolls, steam rolls, and curry chicken to share. All of these dishes were a 10/10 as well! :) The service was exceptional and the employees were very friendly. They brought out the food quick and filled our drinks fast. Coming from Seattle, it is hard to find authentic Vietnamese food so I am glad I gave this place a shot. Ordered doordash for my coworkers and I on a rainy California day. Our order came out to be 18 dishes and $250+. Waited a total of 2m5 hours and my poor doordash delivery man had to wait for them to finish. Ended up tipping the delivery guy in addition to what I had given him through the app cause I felt so bad. But the delivery guy said it was busy (Saturday afternoon) and they were serving people on dining in first. Unfortunately after all the planning and organizing of the food, they forgot my order. I guess after all the orders and multiple phone calls asking for updates, missing one order isn't too bad. I had called back after I found out they had missed my order and they apologized and said I could come back anytime and receive a free makeup noodle dish. Coworkers were raving about the shrimp and pork spring rolls. So I decided to make a drive to El Monte on my day off and claim my free meal. I had told my waiter my situation and he responded with "you're Vivian?!? . The boss mentioned your name all week long" I was flattered and confused at the same time but I knew on some level he probably felt really bad and was anticipating my arrival. I ended up tipping generously for the honesty and free (free ish?) meal. The chicken noodle was okay but when the chicken was dipped into their heavenly garlic sauce, OMG.... So delicious. Really wanted to support a local business but it's hard when their service is so bad. Family ordered six items over the phone and the person told us it'll take about thirty minutes. Understanding it was a lunch rush, we waited forty minutes to give them extra time to prepare our order before heading in to pick up. They still weren't ready. We sat there and waited another 45 minutes while watching people walk up and order and pick up their food before our order was even done. When we asked the owner on an update on our order, we were brushed off and they said it was the kitchen's issue, not theirs. Incredibly frustrating to see people get their food before us when we've been waiting for so long. The best part was the people who showed up after we did, ordered, finished eating their food, and left while we were still waiting! Terrible service and the attitude of the staff was very unpleasant. Pho LTK is probably closer to a 3.5 out of 5, but I rounded it up to a 4 considering it's a mom and pop business and shouldn't be compared to fancier restaurants. It's more of a to-go spot, with minimal seating, just a couple of tables. I've visited a couple of times and once sat down to eat with a friend, which was a bit awkward since it was just the owner/server there. Overall, they seemed nice and genuine. While it wouldn't be my top choice for pho to-go, when I'm in the area and feeling lazy to drive but craving pho, I'll swing by. Pho LTK surprised me by being a small restaurant located inside an almost empty plaza, but serves amazing quality meat and the beef (tai) is actually authentic and fresh. Post is not about the food but how unsanitary the employees are! Due to COVID-19 they should take more precaution. They leave everything out and every customer touches it. Also when they clean the table they spray some kind of chemical to clean the table and it would get all over the sauce, spoon, chop stick, & sauce tray. Asked the lady with glasses if it's possible to get new spoons or At least rewash 2 spoons for me but instead she went to the next time while there is a customer seating there eating and grabbed 2 spoons! This restaurant serves variety of dishes with Hainan chicken. The decoration of the restaurant is not that impressive but the foods are good. During Covid they have three tables for outdoor seating. It's best to order take out. We tried their Hainan chicken rice which I believe to be one of the best in LA. With garlic rice to go with the tender hot water poached chicken meats, the restaurant claimed they used the Wen Chang chicken( type of organic yellow chicken) as it's done in Singapore to add authenticity to the dish. We also ordered Hainan chicken pho as well. The pho is the Chinese rice noodle with Hainan chicken and some vegetables. Unlike the beef pho, The broth in this chicken pho is clear and sweet. The portion is big. Along with the Hainan chicken theme, we also got their chicken salad. This salad is similar to the Chinese salad in most restaurants in the US, the only difference here is the Hainan chicken used in the salad that makes the salad to have a unique taste. Instead of dried chicken meats in the salad, you will get to enjoy the tender chicken meats with the lettuces. Finally, you have to try their sesame ball. Spring roll comes in 3 per order and they are bigger than other places; home makes dipping sauce gives more flavors. This is our 3 time here and tbh it was good the first two time buT for some reason today was just mehhhh. The broth was lacking flavor, as always im the one that usually fines things in my food, i swear it never fails I found this lint looking hair in my chicken and she said it's part of the chicken hair/feather. She gave me a fresh bowl but by then I've already lost my appetite so I just ate the noodles and left the chicken. Sad to leave this review, just happened tonight. Ordered a thai tea and they gave me something else. Went back to trade for a thai tea but they told me theyve sold out. As the lady and I were trying to figure out what other options there are as replacement, another employee comes and they talked a bit and said they have more. So I waited and got the drink replaced. Came home and took one sip of the 'thai tea" and it tasted like pure creamer. The color is really light also (they put it in a bag so I didn't check again or notice the color was off). I am guessing they did run out, instead of trading me another drink decided to pretend they have more by giving me whats left mixed with A LOT of creamer/sugar. The chicken here is soooo good. I ordered a large chicken pho with leg meat. The chicken was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. I loved the ginger sauce that came with it. I could drink a whole bowl of the ginger sauce alone. The large noodle was more than enough for me and my 1 year old.
