Finally a legit all you can eat sushi spot that won't break the bank. This place didn't disappoint with so many items to enjoy from a variety of delicious appetizers, rolls, and fresh sushi. Lunch price is $29.99 and dinner is $36.99 (weekdays) or premium menu for $15 dollars more is so worth it. The premium sushi comes in the cute boat. The rice to fish ratio was good too! Spacious interior and friendly service. You must check them out. Even if you don't eat raw food there's plenty of cooked options. I was surprised their ramen was yummy too. Al la carte is also available.

Came here around 2:40 PM and was happy they still had the lunch special available. The service was excellent. I got full in under an hour after just two rounds, which is a big plus for AYCE sushi. Some AYCE places bring food out slowly and make you worry about the 2-hour limit, but that was not the case here at all. The fish tasted fresh, and I had no complaints about the food. I especially liked that they offer poke sashimi, which is not something I usually see at AYCE sushi spots. My only suggestion is that the rice on the sushi could be a little smaller, but overall I had a very satisfying experience and would definitely come back.

Tried the new AYCE spot Mabu Sushi & Ramen in El Monte and was pleasantly surprised by the quality and variety. Since there aren't many all you can eat sushi spots in the SGV, this was a nice addition to the area. Lunch starts at $30 and includes a large selection of sushi, appetizers, rolls, and ramen. We started with the sashimi salad, carpaccio, and tempura. The fish was fresh and generously portioned while the tempura was lightly fried and crispy. The nigiri had thick cuts of fish with a good rice to fish ratio. One of my favorite items was definitely the spicy tuna crispy rice -- flavorful with a nice kick and great texture from the crunchy rice. They also offer no rice roll options which was nice to see. The ramen was surprisingly solid too. The broth was rich, noodles were firm, and the bowls come in smaller portions so it's easy to try multiple items. The premium sushi boat was both aesthetic and delicious. Fish was buttery and melt in your mouth, and the fried shrimp head was chef's kiss. Overall a great option if you're craving AYCE sushi in the SGV area.

There's premium sushi served on a sushi boat... at an all-you-can-eat spot?! Maybe this new sushi place in El Monte is about to make AYCE sushi go viral The premium sushi boat comes with soft shell crab, wagyu sushi, sweet shrimp, and more luxe picks. Price? $29.99 lunch special $36.99 premium (includes the sushi boat) And for the kids? Ending the meal with a banana boat dessert IG: socalhkfoodies

I've seen plenty of social media posts about this spot, so I had to come and try it for myself. I really enjoyed the ambiance, it's a big, open space, and there weren't that many people here on a Wednesday. We ended up getting the premium option, which basically gave each person one set of premium items plus AYCE from the regular menu. I thought the selection was good, and the sushi quality was definitely above average, especially compared to many other AYCE sushi spots I've been to. I'd rate the quality somewhere between a 4 and 4.5, which is really good for AYCE. Some notable items I really enjoyed were the mussels, fried oysters, and all the tuna and salmon sushi. All of the premium items were quite good, and the poke sashimi (carpaccio) were solid as well. The no-rice rolls (Sunrise & Anabolic roll) were light and refreshing. The special rolls were simple but good, though a bit heavy on rice, so you'll fill up quickly. I do like that many of the rolls come with only four pieces, that's a huge plus for AYCE, especially if you're dining with a smaller party. Overall, I'd definitely come back. I thought the price was reasonable for the quality, and having no wait is another big plus. Parking - Plenty as its in a huge lot that's almost never crowded.

TD Cafe closed after about a year and has now been replaced by Mabu AYCE Sushi. AYCE Pricing: Lunch (Mon-Fri): $29.99 (Premium $45.99) Weekend & Dinner: $36.99 (Premium $48.99) I ordered from the regular AYCE menu. You can order from the list up to three rounds. I asked if there was a time limit, and the waiter said we could stay until closing. There's a wide variety of options, including salads, appetizers, sushi, poke sashimi, no-rice rolls, fried rolls, baked rolls, specialty rolls, classic rolls, as well as ramen and udon. I didn't have enough room to try the noodles or specialty rolls. Overall, the food was decent--fresh enough for AYCE. I especially liked that they offer no-rice rolls. What I tried: ( = would order again) Yellowtail Tama (No Rice Roll) Salmon Tama (No Rice Roll) Sashimi Salad Seaweed Salad Shishito Peppers Organic Agedashi Tofu Takoyaki Crispy Squid Legs Fried Shumai Karaage Fried Chicken Dynamite Roll Yellowtail Collar Salmon Collar Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Unagi Yuzu Salmon Yuzu Tuna Smelt Egg Bay Scallop Seared Albacore Yellowtail Poke Sashimi - Salmon Carpaccio Poke Sashimi - Yellowtail Carpaccio Poke Sashimi - Albacore Carpaccio Banana Boat Plenty of parking, lots of tables on a weekday night, and the service was very attentive, the waiter helped us to customize the banana boat to what we wanted. I wish they can make the ordering sheet bigger, it was hard to read with the low light environment. I saw another couple changed seat to a brighter table.

Wanted to give Mabu AYCE Sushi in El Monte a fair chance since it's a newer spot. The interior is beautiful and surprisingly elegant for an AYCE sushi restaurant -- modern decor, spacious seating, and even a chandelier that give it a more upscale feel. Unfortunately, the food and service didn't match the atmosphere. I've been to several AYCE sushi spots, and this one was pretty mediocre overall. I upgraded to the premium option mainly for the toro and Hokkaido scallop, which actually ended up being the best items -- but they also took the longest to come out. The biggest issue was timing and organization. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Friday night, yet food took an extremely long time to arrive. I only ended up doing one round because of how slow everything was. One of my orders never came out at all, and staff kept asking whether I had received it while repeatedly checking with the sushi bar, but nothing ever arrived. Even the table next to us seemed frustrated since I overheard them mentioning items from their first round arriving way too late after they no longer wanted them. Dessert was also disappointing and looked nothing like the menu photo. On top of that, there were children behind the host counter loudly shouting while playing on an iPad for much of the evening, which made the environment feel less polished and relaxing. Really wanted to like this place because the space itself is gorgeous, but overall it just wasn't a great first impression.

New AYCE sushi spot that took over TD Cafe in El Monte. Came when it was fairly new with a large party. So when we walked in, realized that the staff was pretty much the same people from TD Cafe, but everybody was super attentive and accommodating. There's definitely kinks that need to be worked out; however, overall it was not bad. The appetizers are fairly safe. We enjoyed the crispy rice, edamame, seaweed salad, tempura, and tofu. Ordered the collar on our second round, but even after reminding them, we never got the order. As for the fish, it's OK. The sashimi dishes were not great, but we liked the sushi - especially the yuzu salmon, bay scallop, and eel. Rolls were alright. I liked my Philadelphia roll the most, lol. We also tried the ramen, which came in a small bowl. It was not bad. We did like the banana boat ice cream! It came with two scoops and two cones as well as banana. For the price of $36-37, it's not bad. If they get busy, I can see them falling quite behind. Glad to try it one time, but don't know if I'd return. Bumped it up to 4 stars because of the service.

Amazing AYCE spot with a huge variety of choices, from appetizers to desserts! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The must-try items are definitely the Yuzu Sushi, Sunrise Roll, and fried calamari. The house special lemon iced tea is also really good and worth ordering. The servers are super friendly and happy to give recommendations, which made the experience even better. It's also very family-friendly and great for kids, with plenty of rice and noodle options available. Highly recommend! We will definitely come back again soon.

This place is not good... We opted for the regular AYCE ($29.99). Unfortunately, it was really disappointing. - The rice was mushy. There's nothing worse than mushy sushi rice. - The fish didn't seem fresh. Some pieces felt slimy. Slimy fish with mushy rice... not a great combo. - Too much sauce! The dishes were drenched in sweet mayo and the thick sugary soy sauce. The very thin sashimi slices were swimming in big puddles of ponzu. Lol. - We also ordered the banana boat dessert because it looked great on the menu, but it looked completely different when it arrived. The banana was unripe. Hard and sour. - The only positive was the service. The staff was friendly and attentive. I don't think I'll be coming back.

This is a new ayce Japanese and ramen restaurant. It is located inside a strip mall, with parking easy to find. First, previously this location was an HK-style cafe, and the new place hasn't changed much. A couple of Japanese-style decorations were added. Second, the service at this place is very good. The servers and the owner were very attentive and polite. Third, the food was amazing. Although it is an Ayce, this place doesn't skimp on quality. The sashimi was fresh, and they took the time to put the nigiri into a wooden boat. I think this took the whole presentation to another level. Besides Ayce, the items can be ordered à la carte. I opted for the premium menu, and the additional premium sushi was amazing. I would love to come back to try its dinner.

Spicy tonkatsu ramen - the WORST! The chef must've dropped a full bottle of sesame oil in it!

This is a rather new AYCE sushi and Japanese food place in El Monte, much in the vein of Aikan Sushi and Ramen in Pasadena. For $40.00 you can get your fill of subpar food and then be incredibly sick by the time you get home. The few times I drove by in the last few weeks, I knew something must be off, since the place is always dead empty. Still, figured I had to try it. Big mistake. The place had two servers, one Asian and one non-Asian. The Asian woman spoke English, while the other woman seemed to not comprehend the simplest of questions. They have no beer or sake or any liquor of any kind, despite neon signs on the wall of sake and soju. Maybe they're working on their license. Who knows? What I do know is after tasting a couple of items, I surrendered to considering my 40 bucks lost in order to save my health. Literally the best dish was the cucumber salad, which is sad for a place that has sushi, ramen, and cooked Japanese food. Also decent were most of the fried shumai, although in the first order one of them was bizarrely freezing cold despite all the others being hot. How does that happen? The second order had gristly meat in a few of them, which we had to spit out. None of the meat on most of the dishes is either high quality or properly trimmed for fat. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was also decent. The deep fried gyoza (which we all know are better pan fried) were okay, but once again would be better if pan fried. Unmemorable but not horrible were the agedashi tofu and popcorn scallops, though all the fried foods had a horribly bland batter on them. The worst was the tempura. The shrimp are extremely small for tempura, the vegetables were way underdone, and the batter has a flavorless taste that makes it so you only taste the oil. The fried chicken wing was gross. The meat in most chicken we ordered was alarmingly pink, although I think it was cooked. Maybe not enough, but for the most part cooked. The chicken teriyaki was also like this and because they only have dark meat, it was so insanely rubbery in texture that I couldn't eat more than a couple small bites. The karaage suffers from the same problems: rubbery, pink dark meat and with the extra addition of the fact the chunks of chicken are the size of your fist. Not a pleasurable eat. The beef teriyaki was low quality beef and was soooooo fatty and tough to chew. It was very unpleasant to eat. With the noodles, the udon proved to be more tolerable, if still unmemorable. The ramen was a disaster. It tasted like the chef had the top of the sesame oil bottle accidentally fall off while trying to add a dash on top of the broth, cause it was hold-your-nose pungent from the gross over-saturation of sesame oil. I always drink my ramen broth, but one minor sip for each of us and no one wanted it. Finally, you can get a banana boat, which is one scoop of ice cream (vanilla or green tea) surrounded by a banana cut in half and a cone. It's fine but sort of funny as they have huge posters of a traditional three scoop banana split as the desert. Doesn't matter. Got sick. The food was terrible. Service was awful. Never going back. I can't even imagine how sick you will get if you eat the sushi, considering the quality of the food we had that was cooked, though if you read other reviews you will find plenty where people talk about getting very ill. Stay away!

Place looks nice but the food is mediocre. Went here cause of the good reviews but it went downhill once we got seated. First thing I noticed was how the place left the door open when the ac was on, so there were gnats flying around our food. Went with the ayce and tried out the premium boat - definitely not worth it, fish had a fishy taste (iykyk) and their fish to rice ratio is terrible. Everytime I ate a bite of the sushi, I only tasted the mushy rice. Spicy tonkatsu ramen - overly salty, almost as if been simmering for too long Miso soup - didn't see it on the menu, asked our waitress about it and she said they have it, put in two orders but it never came to our table. Mussels - had an odd beige color and weird aftertaste to it Carpaccio (salmon) - honestly tasted like costco salmon, not in a good way, very stringy fish, wasn't firm Crispy rice salmon/tuna - not bad but the rice seemed like burnt rice, not crispy Overall... not good and wouldn't come back We weren't satisfied and not full at all. Honestly go to Eat's Ayce Sushi.

The woman who took my order was friendly and the kitchen was quick! I had low expectations for the squid knowing it likely wouldn't travel well for take out, but when I got home both the flavor and texture were great. The ramen was also really good. It was very tender with no strange pork smell to it. It tasted fresh. I got the ramen with small rice bowl and salad combo. The rice bowl was alright as well. I got the pork cutlet and egg. I wanted the pork cutlet to be crispy, but the breading on the outside was soggy. The overall flavor was fine though. It had a braised, sweet soy sauce type of flavor to it. The salad was made of shredded cabbage and carrots with a creamy dressing on top that reminds me a lot of thousand island dressing. The slight bitterness from the raw cabbage paired well with the sweeter flavors of the dressing and the carrots. Service was okay.

Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

What we love is how customizable everything is-- you can choose your noodle firmness (soft to firm), soup oil level (light to rich), and soup base (mild to strong). Then add your favorite toppings. Not every ramen shop offers this level of customization! Another highlight is their lunch special starting at $18.45, available daily from 11 AM to 3 PM. You can pair your ramen with sides like gyoza, tacos, musubi, or a rice bowl. Don't forget they have desserts such as Icecream and made in japan cheesecake IG: socalhkfoodies

Then we started trying new ones opened in the area and now often go to one at the mall for good ramen and conscience. I was craving for Okinawa soba so decided to come here without driving to South Bay. It's Friday around 1:30pm and the shop is relatively busy that only a couple of tables are available. We sat down and started looking at the menu - now a digital one with a tablet on every table. You can browse the menu on the tablet and put your order in on it. We ordered Okinawa soba and miso ramen. For $15 each, it seems like a decent price. We like the broths here. It's rich and deep without a layer of fat on top like most of the ramen shops. The noodles are firm with a nice bite to it. I especially like the Okinawa soba because it uses thicker noodles. The meat is tender and has a sweet flavor to it. If I had to nitpick, they don't have the Okinawa chili vinegar to go with the soba. It's a small shop. The walls are sprayed painted to look like a Japanese night time izakaya vibe. We will definitely come back more often.

Unfortunately, today made us realize the drive is no longer worth it. As we walked in, the owner (I assume) was so focused on his phone that he didn't greet us or acknowledge us at all. We had to approach him and ask where to sit because he didn't even look up. It felt unwelcoming and very different from how this place used to be. On top of that, the food just wasn't the same the flavor was lacking, and the overall experience didn't feel like the restaurant we've supported for years. It's disappointing to say, but this place has lost our business. Great customer service and consistent quality matter, and sadly both were missing today.

However, I got their platter and it came out warm/cold. It was obviously they grilled it previously and then just heat it up a little before serving. I expect my food to taste fresh, or at-least come out hot. I should have noticed when the platter came out some quickly. It did have a nice taste overall otherwise, and still ate it. I am regretful though. Otherwise, their main ramen tasted very good. The chasu meat was very good and the Ramen came out hot. The oyster that was off the menu was amazing. Place is really cute and very Japanese. Honestly, I won't be coming back. I can't help, but feel like I was fed leftover skewers. The host was so nice, but unfortunately something was wrong with the cook. I should have not eaten the platter and hope I don't get sick. Update: I am pretty sure this gave me stomach issues, but instead of the skewers, maybe the oyster.

It was my…read morefirst time ordering takeout from here but I dined in before and enjoyed their ramen noodles. I placed my order through their website and ordered the original Nagoya Mazesoba non-spicy with poached egg (15.29). I selected the earliest pick up time and then headed to the restaurant a few minutes before. However, to my surprise, the staff told me that my order wasn't ready yet and would need another 10 to 15 minutes. This is already after the 15 minutes of the promised due time when I placed my order, so I had no choice but to wait outside the store. This made my experience annoying because now I waited a total 25 minutes for my food. They should not have put an asap ordering with a due time if their kitchen wouldn't be able to meet the time. It seemed to me that their kitchen forgot to cook my order until I arrived at the store and they noticed the order, because my order was ready 10 minutes after I arrived and waited outside. The only good thing is the staff was nice enough to bring out my food instead of letting me go inside to get it after the time they told me passed. This is why I had to drop a star in my review. As for the noodles, it is similar to my memory of how it tasted. The sauce is very flavorful and a bit greasy as you get to the last couple bites. But the portion is still a bit small and also the noodle texture seemed not as chewy and soft. It might be because it is takeout or the kitchen was in a rush to cook it. But overall it was just alright and not as good as I remembered. If I do come again, I will dine in to see if the noodles taste any better. Because of this, I definitely would just recommend dining in. Dining in also gets the free bowl of rice.
