Interesting restaurant concept, the server brings a tablet and you place your order there. If you need to order more after your first submission, the server is there to assist. I kind of feel like the tablet isn't necessary. The pho was very good and comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants in the city. I think the soup could be a little hotter. The menu has a wide selection, from boba and snacks to pho and rice dishes. One thing is that the Bun Bo Hue was not good. It was not a traditional bun bo hue broth, instead it looked like they used a spicy chili hotpot soup base, as the bowl was filled with cumin. I'll definitely be back for the pho! read more

Dined here over the MLK weekend. Upon entry, service was welcoming and friendly. The girl asked us to sit whatever we want, showing respect to personal liberty. A digital pad for order as well as paper menus were provided. The suggested tip started from 10% and had options to choose from, comparing to another place we went that asked for 20% in advance, it was way more flexible and considerate. People working here were very friendly and helpful. I had a question about Pho, the girl came promptly and answered it politely. Thus we had no problem paying tips up front. Unfortunately, the quality of the Pho was average, to say the least. The soup base did not have the savory or umami taste. Traditional way of preparing soup stock involves cooking with beef bones, meats and other spices. The flavor in the bowl was artificial, bland and forgettable. Note that their all-inclusive Pho doesn't contain tripes, which was a dissapoitment as I loved tripes. I have had better Pho elsewhere. Service was nice. Overall clean place with lovely decor. We were excited to try Pho Kitchen since it's a new spot close to home and conveniently located in a plaza with lots of other food options--perfect for picking up dinner for the whole family. I ordered a bowl of bun bo hue online, and while the ordering process was quick and easy, the dish itself was a huge disappointment. I guess we should have known better than to order bun bo hue from a pho spot? The bun bo hue was extremely subpar compared to other places in San Jose. It lacked essential components--no pork blood cubes, no pork, no banana blossoms, and no shredded cabbage. Instead, it was served with pho garnishes like basil and bean sprouts, which felt like a lazy substitute. The broth was bland and missing that signature kick of fermented shrimp paste. Honestly, it seemed like they just took their pho broth, tossed in a few spices, and labeled it bun bo hue. It's frustrating to pay premium prices for a dish that felt like an afterthought. This feels like an attempt to pad the menu rather than deliver authentic flavor. Sadly, we won't be coming back. read more

Was initially going to Kebab Shop when I saw this had opened. I think it took over the old Noodles and Company restaurant. This was definitely an upgrade compared to that other restaurant. I ordered the Well-done Brisket + Braised Short Ribs pho, their fish balls, and Egg rolls. To drink, I got the Vietnamese coffee. With the recent surgance of pho restaurants in SJ, I kinda feel like once you had the new stuff, everything else will taste the same, and unfortunately, the pho pretty much taste like everywhere else, not that it's a bad thing! Price for the bowl of soup is less expensive, so that's one thing it has going for it. Another is the order also came with three meaty ribs. The egg rolls were stellar, the fish balls were fine, but I got to give it to the viet coffee. It's creamy, strong, but not overpowering. Services was typical, nothing bad. Ambience fit the area. They were playing light jazz. It kept the mood light. There's still a few things I want to try like their banh mi and their vermicelli bowls. Will come again! read more

Went here for dessert with my family on a Saturday evening! Staff was super nice and the place was surprisingly empty. There are two kiosks at the front to order to go. We got three drinks and mochi donuts. I got the pistachio cream matcha and would highly recommend it! I definitely want to come back to get it again and try their banana cream matcha as well. My friend recommended me this new pho restaurant last week, and today I took 2 other friends to go there and tried it. I had ribs pho with rare steak. It was delicious! The ribs were tender and the broth was excellent! My friends had chicken pho, and they also liked it. I just didn't like the plastic spoons. it looks cheap and felt not quite clean even though I know they washed them! The owner should fix it. One thing I wanted to note is that I asked for no bell peppers and they cooked the onions perfectly. It's soft and pairs so well. My wife and I tried it for the first time, and you can tell right away this place has been around and knows what it's doing. Simple setup; steady crowd even on a Sunday night; always a good sign. I ordered the large chicken pho, and my wife had the chicken fried rice, which she really enjoyed. The pho was excellent; rich, flavorful broth; great noodles; and a portion size that humbled me. I couldn't quite finish it, which doesn't happen often. Only minor note; I would've liked a few more vegetables, but I'm sure they would've brought more if I asked. Service is quick and efficient. Like many traditional pho spots, you eat first, then go up to the register and tell them your table number to pay; seasoned move is to remember your number and handle it like a regular. Five stars from me. I'll definitely be back; next time I've got my eye on the brisket. Honestly, it's tough to find really good pho in this part of San Jose without heading up to North San Jose or Milpitas, but if you're in the Cambrian area, this might be your spot.
