Due to COVID, the service is slower than usual and the sitting area is a little scarce because the establishment is trying to conform to the CDC Social Distancing guidelines for LA County. We were seated fairly quickly close to another family that was already seated. My son and I just wanted a different scenery and wanted to explore Arcadia while it's seemingly quiet and not too busy (we know how Arcadia can get during the weekends with family brunches and get together). We ordered the following for our appetizer: Shrimp Spring Rolls Egg rolls Sausage Rolls For our entrees, we ordered the following pho dishes: Rare Steak Pho (Small) Meatballs Pho (Small) Both entrees came with fresh condiments of basil leaves, cilantros, bean sprouts, jalapeños and hoisin sauce mixed with sriracha. I asked for a side of chili oil paste because, who eats pho bland?!!! Right?! Overall, our experience was nice and the environment was inviting. After reading some of the reviews here, I kind of understand why it doesn't have the highest amount of stars. I recently went to this restaurant, as I had originally planned to go to the pizza place next door (Omar's Pizzeria is no longer in this plaza BTW). When we arrived, we were sat immediately and were handed menus without really being officially greeted - it was literally a silent moment between us the host, but we just followed her to the table and seemed to communicate through the silence. We took a look at the menu and within five minutes we were about ready to order. The server never came back to ask us what we wanted to eat though, which we found odd. We ended having to wave down a server to get our order in. As soon as placed our order, we were then given some water, and it was shortly followed by the drink we ordered. The food didn't take too long to arrive. Within five minutes we had our order of egg rolls arrive at our table. The egg rolls to our surprise were delicious! Whatever is in the sauce that they serve with the egg rolls is life! Not too long after, was our pho. I went for a chicken noodle pho, while my fiancee decided to go for a flank pho. Both were very good and just what we needed to have a happy and full stomach! It definitely took us sometime to get the check, and even to get it to the server so she can run our card, but I think that's the way this establishment works. We agreed since we know what we wanted. As soon she brought us water we ordered she told us that just pho was available nothing else since they were about to close, we ordered pho then and she never came back to check on us after she delivered the food; at 8:20pm she came and told us that we can leave now and paid and the front, we didn't even finish yet , we ate as fastest we can and five minutes later she came again with the same request we paid at 8:25 pm. We leave at exactly that time 8:20pm, when she only asked us to finish before 9pm at the first place. Came here for breakfast with my dad on a Friday morning. They open about an hour earlier than most pho places nearby so we decided to just try this place. We ordered pho, egg rolls, and Vietnamese iced coffee. The pho was pretty good, soothing on a cold morning. Egg rolls were fresh and crunchy. My favorite part of the meal? The Vietnamese iced coffee. I'm so happy because this place has tripe and tendon in their Pho. Lots of places don't. The broth is always so good - even before you add the bean sprouts, the green leaves(not sure what they're called), the lime, and any hot sauce or sweet sauce. I also like to order their coffee with boba - so nice and strong! Then to finish it all off with a nice dessert - usually the A3 - mixed beans with jello and coconut milk and shaved ice. They are open with outdoor dining. This is the only Vietnamese restaurant I know in the San Gabriel Valley that is opened for outdoor dine-in. Services here seemed to be very fast and friendly. I tried their new dish, oxtail rice noddle soup. The rice noodle and soup were very good with authentic Vietnam spices. But the oxtail was a bit tough. Should cook it a little longer. Other vermicelli rice noodle salad was just as good as the ones we had in Vietnam. For dinks, I ordered their fresh young coconut. This has very sweet coconut juice. Pho Ha was my go to spot for years. Their pho is good and the food is prepared quickly, you hardly have to wait once you put in your orders. The eggrolls are my favorite, always consistently good. However, the flavor of their pho broths could be better. I have found a couple other more flavorful pho joints so I go there if I'm in the area instead of Pho Ha. Pretty standard chain Vietnamese restaurant. I like this place because the service is really fast and you get your food in about ten minutes. My favorite thing here is their banh kot which is an appetizer and are basically bite sized banh xeos. They are little deep fried crepe/flour cups with shrimp and coconut milk on top. (Coconut is not at all overwhelming if you're not a coconut fan) my bf doesn't like coconut and he enjoyed this. This is the only reason I wanted to come here because most other Vietnamese places do not serve this. Trust me this is a must order! Tried their bun no hue which was just okay. They overlooked their noodles. Also tried their pork chop rice plate which was good but they only gave us one small peice of pork chop with a large bone in the middle. I was a frequent visitor of the Pho Ha in Riverside, and I never experienced bad food OR bad service at that location, so I figured my family's experience at the Monrovia location would be the same. While the food came out quickly, the flavors in my pho weren't as strong as they were at the other Pho Ha locations, or even other pho restaurants in the SGV area. I kind of felt like I was drinking chicken soup instead of beef pho because it was so watery. My dad usually expresses that he likes his food, but he was silent and ambivalent the whole time. My mom also ordered a vegetable tofu dish to-go that she was pretty excited about, and a completely different dish came out that was more expensive since it had beef. The waiter insisted we take it instead of offering to correct the order or refund the difference. Thankfully, my parents were okay with the substitution, but what if my mom was vegetarian, and they still didn't want to switch it out? This rating is definitely more based on the food than the service, but the questionable service didn't make my family want to come back to this Pho Ha location any time soon. read more

Service is pretty quick. Many of their dishes taste great. My only two complaints are about 1) their small size pho, and 2) the ventilation in the restaurant. 1. Their small size bowl itself looks a decent size but the amount of pho noodles they put in it is actually VERY little. Do yourself the favor of paying $0.50 more and ordering the large. If you're hungry, you will be very disappointed with the small, even if you typically don't eat large portions. 2) The restaurant's ventilation system is not the greatest. While you are welcome with the smell of pho the moment you walk in, you, your clothes, and your hair, will also smell like pho until you wash those clothes and wash your hair. This has been my regular Pho restaurant for many years. That's why I'm disappointed to go through a terrible experience. I ordered something from an older dark haired Vietnamese man, I even pointed at the picture on the menu as well. The food brought out was not what I ordered and I told him. He went back in the kitchen and came out and said I was wrong and he was right. Wtf... Normally I would've just ate the food anyways if they were apologetic. But this guy wanted to argue with me.
