This restaurant has been a family favorite ever since I was a little girl. One of the things I've always appreciated is the incredible value...you get a generous amount of food for such an affordable price. Beyond that, the staff truly make this place special. The team in the kitchen and the woman who serves customers are always kind, welcoming, and genuinely courteous. I had some extra time today and wanted to give them the recognition they deserve for years of consistently great service. I stopped by and ordered a large hot and sour soup because I was feeling under the weather, and it was exactly what I needed. It was comforting, flavorful, and hit the spot perfectly. Was looking for a local Chinese food place to fill my craving for chow mein and found this place. My boyfriend went in to order us 2 combos. He said the levels of food were lower so people must be loving it and I ended up with fresh orange chicken which is a win for me. Oh my GOODNESS this is a hole in the wall!!! This place has amazing prices, great portions, great staff. Place is clean, food is fresh, food is HOT. Chicken has chicken in it, flavorful, fresh. Small portions are made all the time from the time I was sitting there eating there. I'm so surprised I found another Chinese food spot that is delicious, I ended up buying another plate to share with the family. I've been going to this restaurant for many years, maybe 7, but more as a fast food take out. I've always loved their fried rice because they use chunks of onions, which makes anything taste great. Their take out combos include breaded pork & vegetables, shrimp in lobster sauce, etc., which isn't anything that you'd normally find at a take out Asian restaurant. However, I went there a couple of weeks ago but didn't know what I was in the mood for. Then when I got to the door, I suddenly took notice and attention to the many menu pictures on the window and building. So for the 1st time, I placed an order for a Mongolian Beef plate. I took it to work and was dumbfounded. It tasted AWESOME! After decades of weight loss, I was not able to finish the dish, which was a great serving. So I brought it home later that night to share with my fiancee. Instead, she shared it with her son & grandson (I was still full from lunch) and King's Wok had 3 new customers. I was asked to place an order for each of them whenever I decided to have lunch from there again. Since then, I've already been there for more Mongolian Beef, Mongolian Chicken, and Chicken Fried Rice. Now, I rarely go there for fast food items anymore. The food here that's in disappoint but it's not a lot better than say panda express. That said even though prices went up it's still a very affordable lunch spot. I presume if you go between 12:00 and 1:00 p.m. the food is even better than today when we went after 2:30 p.m. . Nothing stood out but nothing was terrible either the fried rice and chow mein from the heat lamp I just okay the dishes made to order a little more expensive but worth the money. Overall the ambience is welcoming and fairly clean. Their table condiments include only soy sauce at the moment. They used to have sriracha sauce but not anymore; (they do offer (?the sachets, but it's not the same--not even close!) The owners seem very friendly, and they take credit cards with no minimum purchase. I tried to recommend places like this to support local businesses, and I really think King's Wok fits the bill. Their food is not gourmet level but in my opinion it is good for the price. Basically like those Diamond in a rough good places based on the price. Service is you pick and they'll put it on your plate depending on the combo you'd choose. I personally like their chowmein with mushroom chicken and their honey coconut shrimp (no clue if it's honey walnut shrimp since I don't see any walnut and it taste with a hint of coconut). If you don't like the combos, shrimp fried rice is a good choice. Ask for soy sauce and hot sauce if you want to add more flavor into it. If you'd like a quick to go meal or you can't be choosy because of limited budget but still want to be full with a decent meal, go here. read more
