No exaggeration but this place has the best Banh Mi I've ever had in my life! First bite, it was crispy yet light great balance of umami meats ratio to veggies. You don't need any condiments. It is delicious as is! Even thought I ate the whole thing, it can probably feed two people if they weren't super hungry. The place is moderately busy on a Thursday evening, the place is small but clean! Doesn't have a strong food smell. Staff is very friendly and doesn't rush for you to get your sh** together and order. I suppose I should come back again and try the pho... I'll def be back soon. read more

Pretty good pho spot that definitely has a nostalgic aspect, especially since I've been eating here since I was young. Servers were friendly (spoke Cantonese) and the price is pretty reasonable. Food (8/10) - I think the food is pretty good here. The soup has a nice depth of flavor but I have definitely tried better. There was a nice saltiness but I think the flavor was perhaps not as rich as some of the other places I've tried before. I think my biggest complaint about this place is that their bowls are really small. Don't let the large or the X-large fool you. There is actually a relatively small portion of noodles and overall, not as full as I would be from other place. I think the tradeoff is the price per bowl is generally less expensive ($16 vs. $20). Service (8/10) - Super friendly people here! When they heard me and my grandma speaking Canto, they helped us in the language we were most comfortable in which was very much appreciated! Been here a handful of times since the name/ownership change and although I miss the original Pho Saigon, this place is still a great pho spot to check out if you're in the Dublin area. Fairly standard Vietnamese restaurant. Staff is welcoming and nice, and service is quick. Location is also convenient and parking is plentiful. The egg rolls were still delish but smaller than before lockdown. The matcha smoothie was also still yummy but cup wasn't filled to the brim of the dome lid. Thankfully, they didn't skimp on the matcha flavor. Service was great. The young man smiled and made eye contact. He was attentive without hovering. Too bad the pho dac biet was not as good as the pre-pandemic version. The large was previously the small size. The portion and type of beef was a bit off. There was lot of tough sliced beef that I think was flank. There was also a different kind of beef slice (maybe brisket?) with 3 layers including a thin middle strip of yellowish (maybe?) cartilage and trailing lacy fat. There were 2 meatballs of indifferent quality and no tripe or tendon to be found. Note, I did find one small piece of tendon, about the size of a Tootsie roll, when I ate the leftovers. The fresh basil was browning. Meanwhile the soup was not slurpable. It was thin on beef flavor and barely had any aromatics. Had to doctor up the broth with plenty of sriracha and hoisin. I believe that this is under new ownership from several years ago. The beef bahn mi was as i hoped. A crispy bread, but light and fluffy inside. The sandwich has the beautiful combination of flavors featuring a sweet, sour, and spicy component, the vegetables bring a nice freshness and texture . The staff is kind and there is ample seating. Good place in dublin for pho/rice/sandwiches/drinks! Perfect day to come for a quick lunch, day after being hangover, or dinner with the family. Seems like a family business and they're all super sweet, some might have language barrier (that's when you know the food is delicious!) pho always comes out in 5-10 mins and they give a lot of noodles. Rice plates are amazing, porkchop are perfectly marinated and grilled, egg cake is a lil small than before, shredded pork goes well with fish sauce. We sat down for dinner and ordered two (#24) phos (with steak, tendon and tripe), egg roll appetizer, a combo Vietnamese sandwich and avocado smoothie with boba. The broth was delicious and hearty! One of the better broths I've had in the Dublin/Pleasanton area. I loved the crispy egg rolls ; it's flavorful and the filling inside is minced nicely...outer wrapper is crispy and not oily. New ownership it seems. I had the bun bah hue and spring rools and my wife had the special which was fish, squid and other seafood. The bun bah hue does not compare to Phon Hanoi in Cupertino which is the best I have had in over 10 plus Viet places I have visited in the East Coast and West the past few months. The special was pretty good and on par with everyone but Pho Hanoi. Spring roll was a pleasant surprise and yum. The previous owner or at least servers are now in San Ramon as I went to their restaurant in my quest for Bun Bah Hue near me versus going all the way to Cupertino. The overall layout was still the same. It is open and cozy. Service was good but they are probably the busiest Viet if not the best Viet offering. One star since it did not have a bun bah hue that competed with the best but the other offerings were spot on. Still the best Viet restaurant in Dublin. For the past two years we all have had our lives turned upside, particularly the hospitality businesses. Due to all the uncertainty opening a new restaurant takes a lot of courage. Pho Dublin takes over the space vacated by Pho Saigon. The facilities are the same but the menu has expanded to include Bun Bo Hue and Shaken beef. After reading a review from long time Yelper Daniel C. I ordered take out. Bun Bo Hue 3 stars $13.95 regular size. Lots of noodles, cabbage, and bean spouts were included. Skimpy on the meat toppings and one slice of blood cake. The broth was good. Not the best BBH but for this area a nice option. Shaken Beef rice plate a generous 2.5 stars. $16.95 Small amounts of beef cut into tiny cubes. The large amount onions and bell peppers made the beef even harder to find. The taste was ok. Large rice portions. Pho Dublin is brand new not even 10 days old. There is a grand opening special of 10% off. They are going to need some time to build their business. At least it's not another empty restaurant space. Some things never change and that is the tray of washed utensils drying on the first table right as you enter. read more

Immediately, I noticed how sweet the Pho broth leaned, which I didn't mind. It definitely wasn't as strong in terms of beefiness and aromatics, compared to other Pho places I've tried in the East Bay. Why five Gold Stars? Easy in one word. Tiffany. Turns out she is the cook who got my order from the boss lady at the front and both of them acted on my request. I wanted the chicken pot stickers but not deep fried. They said they are better deep fried and I said OK, I will try them even though I am trying to eat more healthy. My order of fresh spring rolls (shrimp and veggies with the brown sauce and a side of the orange sauce to mix it up) came and as usual, they were really fresh and good. The excitement came when Tiffany was eating her lunch next to my take out and said "oh, I made the pot stickers for you with some green onions" and I think ginger she said. She pan cooked them instead of in a vat of fat. They were absolutely EPIC. Fresh and light with a bunch of green onions and regular onions in the to go box. Pho, spring rolls, and fried calamari was very good. For an XL Bowl of Pho the price was pretty worth it! They had the perfect meat to noodle ratio and the broth was very rich and no to oily. We also got their banh mi but it had no flavor. Not sure if they forgot to add salt or something but it was very very bland. If they can fix their banh mi then it would be great!
