I have ordered here maybe 10 times or so and I won't be coming back based on the last 3 times. I love the food, but terrible service. The last time I ordered "coconut water with pulp", they gave me a canned coconut water that was put into a cup and said I needed to say "whole coconut" when I order. Why are there two almost identical items on the menu?? That's confusing. Same thing happened when I ordered "basil tofu". They gave me fried rice with tofu in it? Apparently there's also basil fried rice with tofu in it. If there are similar items on the menu and the order is unclear, the restaurant should clarify when the order is placed over the phone. Prices were also what we expect of Livermore. The only drawback here are the diner seats can be small for bigger people. You can't move the chairs or tables. My fiancé and I were craving something soupy after a long day so we decided to try Viet Noms. The service was super quick, and the servers were very kind. I really liked the booth seating inside the restaurant. It was also very clean. Next to a lot of other businesses but still a lot of parking in the lot. The noodles were $15 for regular, $17 for large. I got the Pho Bo, which you get 3 meats of your choice which is what caught my attention because I usually only eat specific cuts. I opted for a large, got tripe, beef balls and tai (rare steak) and would say that the noodles to meat ratio was tremendously uneven. There were 4 half/2 whole meatballs, 5 half/2.5 whole slices of rare steak, and maybe 5 slices of tripe. The broth is served super hot, which could both good and bad, bad because the rare steak gets overcooked super fast so I'd recommend to skip the rare steak as it's gets tough when it's overcooked. The broth was just ok, not flavorful enough to want a sip with every bite and certainly not enough for me to want to drink soup after finishing everything else. My fiancé got the BBH and said it was just ok. He was not a fan and rated it a 3/5 as well. I feel like it's rare for a restaurant to have all great dishes... but this one does. I used to have a specific pho place I would go to (when I lived in San Leandro) and another one I'd go to for banh mi's and noodle & rice plates. There just wasn't a place that had it all. This one does. The pho tai is my go to for pho and this one is delicious and perfect for when I'm feeling under the weather. That broth really heals something in me. I love a good tofu banh mi and this one is one of my favorites. The bread is always fresh. I've also gotten the rice noodle salad with grilled prawns - great flavor and well cooked. We were looking for somewhere different to eat while in town shopping at the outlets. We were craving bhan mi. We yelped a few places and took a chance on this restaurant. Wow! My daughter loved their pork bhan mi! She said the flavor of the meat itself was delicious! And the bread, crispy and soft! I opted for the chicken bun. The grillled chicken had a good smoky, grilled flavor. The noodles and veggies were fresh and yummy! The service was spot on! Constantly making sure we had everything we need. The restaurant itself was a good size, clean and you can tell they keep it maintained pretty well! We're looking forward to coming back the next time we're in town to try their pho! Never dined in, only done pick up, both online and in person. Both methods were super inefficient and positive. I am super boring and tend to get the same thing (ya girl likes baguettes okay) I tend to get pork or chicken bahn mi. And they are always delicious here. Was in the East Bay for other errands and stopped by here for lunch. We arrived late on a Thursday, around 2pm, so the restaurant was pretty empty and we were served quickly. FWIW, I don't think this place would get too crowded, the restaurant is huge with ample seating and a great, relaxed vibe. I really liked the crispy spring rolls, which were a great appetizer with the fish sauce, as well as the pho. IIRC the meat could have been a little more tender, but overall the flavor was enjoyable. Would definitely stop by again if I'm in the area, but I wouldn't drive out from the Peninsula to get it. read more

DoorDash review: New to the area and I'm trying to find spots to put into my regular rotation. Viet Noms has been recommended by a few, and I bookmarked it for when I was in the pho mood. Ordered via DoorDash when I was stuck home with the flu. I liked how easy it was to customize my pho order- you get to select the meat options that you want just by checking boxes. Nice! I chose rare steak and brisket. I ordered the "small" pho and it was a standard regular bowl- very satisfying for one. The order came well packaged (no leakage) with broth in a sealed cup, and the noodles were packed with sprouts, basil, and jalapeños in a carton. They obviously are not prepackaged as some other spots create beforehand which causes the noodles to stay stuck together in a tight square shape and almost "melt" together when they cook (IYKYK!). The broth is SOLID. Sweet, but not too sweet, with depth and not too much salt. Excited to come again just for the broth. The meat was cut very thin with some fatty pieces, but I liked how the fine fat melted into the broth. Unlike the majority of Vietnamese restaurants across the Bay, this steak is very tender, melt in your mouth, and NOT tough. Excited to dine in when I'm feeling better! read more

Been wanting to try Viet Noms so we decided to stop by after dropping off some items to the Goodwill next door. There is a large parking lot but it's shared with multiple businesses so you may need to park a bit further and walk. I had to circle around a few times to find a spot. Restaurant was busy and we got seated right away. I ordered the bun rieu (tomato crab noodle soup with prawns) and the banh khot (mini kettle cakes). The presentation was beautiful and it was a good amount of food. Banh khot - 4/5 super crispy edges and I really liked the chewy texture in the middle. I couldn't really taste the scallion oil though Bun rieu - 3.5/5 crab & pork broth was bland and there were only two pieces of the crab/pork dumplings so that was a bit disappointing. Food portions were generous and looks appetizing. Got the chicken salad Goi Ga which was huge! Crispy and refreshing, chicken was moist 4/5. Bun Bo Hue was also huge and generous. Doesn't have pork blood in it and the sliced beef was so tender it broke apart once it hit the teeth. The soup flavor was basic with nothing standing out saying yes this hits the spot. 3/5. Service was on point, always checked in on us, made sure we had water topped. Also got the Bun pork vermicelli bowl. The charr flavor was sensational in the noodles and the pork. Livermore doesn't have a lot of pho options. This place is more consistent compared to the other places in town. The brisket was a little chewy ans the broth was darker than anticipated for being a viet restaurant. Thai ice tea is eh. It had a powdery taste for some reason, and tea wasn't black/caffeinated enough. Pro: dining inside was clean. Con: no chili oil, unless you ask for it. When I'm craving hit-the-spot Vietnamese food, I go straight to Viet Noms. Some of my favorite dishes are the Vermicelli bowls and the Shaking beef. Parking: located in the same plaza of Trader Joe's. Parking can be tricky but I've always found a spot eventually. Grilled Beef Vermicelli Bowl: I think one of the most important parts of a good vermicelli bowl is well-seasoned and perfectly grilled meat. The beef was just that and there was a generous portion of it. I love eating this at lunch because I always walk away full and satisfied but not to the point where I want to take a nap. The fish sauce is delicious and I highly recommend just pouring all of it all over for best taste! Shaking Beef (Bo loc lac): this dish was a little pricey at $20 but I can see why. The beef was tender and the sauce it was cooked in was perfect. The rice was tasty too and not too overpowering since the beef had all the flavor. It's been some time since we've eaten there, and the disappointment still lingers. All the food we ordered was bland and uninteresting. The atmosphere is equally uninspired. Most egregiously, all the surfaces were slightly sticky from a towel over saturated in cleanser. Our waitress was pleasant, and the food came out in a timely fashion--so that's the good news. I was waiting to write a review, hoping that a second visit might improve my opinion. Alas, I have no desire to return. Three stars is fair based on our one experience, but quite honestly I was quite tempted to go with two stars. I want all the restaurants in that center succeed, so maybe don't be too discouraged. Go there, look at their menu, check 'em out, and form your own first opinion. If you're not feeling it, you have a couple of tasty options close by. I can't believe I have not yet left a review for Viet Noms. My family & I have been regulars since 2021. On average, we eat here once a week. The food is consistently delicious (especially the spring rolls) and the staff is friendly and welcoming. In particular, Yuri (sp?) who goes out of her way to prepare my son's rice plate to his liking. I find that they are really good at following special instructions such as removing cilantro and green onions from the dish. In addition, the restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. In the 3+ years I've been coming here, I have never had a bad meal or dining experience. Highly recommend! read more

Pretty good pho. Location: This restaurant is located in a plaza that offers a good amount of free parking. Its not too packed in the plaza so finding parking is not a big issue. All their dining options are indoor. Food: The food here was pretty good. I will say coming from South Bay, I have had better pho for cheaper but overall the broth an stuff was pretty good. I tried their rice plates which I think are better than their pho and one of the better places I have had rice plates at. I always get their spring rolls and they are also pretty good. Service: Service was fast. You get seated quick, your order comes out quick, and they will bring you the check right away. Found my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant! We go to Trader Joe's often, so I'm surprised I pass up this restaurant every time. I was craving banh mi so we stopped by and had a great experience. First thing I noticed is that the restaurant is very clean and organized. The service was great and staff are prompt with bringing you items you order or ask for. To drink, we got Vietnamese iced coffee which was really tasty! To eat, we ordered classic (prawn) salad rolls and 2 chicken banh mi. Everything was so tasty. The food was fresh and arrived quickly. We also ordered the mango mousse cake and fried banana spring rolls for dessert. The mousse cake was great, but I'd skip the spring rolls next time. They were good but a little heavy for a post-dinner treat. Pricing is also very good, so if you're looking for an affordable quick dinner, look no further. We always order the same items and the quality has been consistent every time. But today 9/18/25, we decided, let's just order "Take Out" this time. Here's the breakdown: 1) Rare steak pho, beef was greasy and oily. 2) Fish cake was over cooked and a little tough. 3) The fixings and toppings for the pho looked old. Cilantro and basil were awfully bad looking! And idk why the flavor of the broth was off. So... I would have gave four stars but this experience was a let down. Vietnamese food isn't normally my jam, but Viet Noms has dishes that I've enjoyed very much. Owned by the same family as the excellent Canton Village a few doors down. The Wife loves this place, so we stopped by for lunch recently. She ordered a rice noodle bowl with tofu (sorry I don't have the proper names handy) while I got an eggplant curry. I dove into it so fast, I forgot to take a picture first - horrors! The Wife is not fond of fish sauce, so they furnished a vegetarian version of their scallion oil. They have a short wine list, but there's always a white wine that I enjoy. Our waiter Jake was particularly helpful, as he is at Canton Village. One more note- they play a great mix of 80s tunes, in this bright, sunny location. Nice to know there are delicious options available for me in a place I'd normally not visit on my own. read more
