The best staff and customer service! Very clean clean and delicious food. We were a large group on a time crunch since we were traveling for work. The cashier (who might have been the owner) was amazing - taking all of our complicated orders and making sure everything came out correctly. It was already busy since it was lunch time, but they still managed to quickly complete our orders. The sandwiches were delicious with a healthy serving of meat and veggies and sauce. I love the pickle option and the combo was such a great deal! I loved their clam chowder and we enjoyed the flat bread. The cashier went above and beyond and gave us a box of cookies, which was beyond kind! They were delicious and the best way to finish off a yummy meal. Everything but the kitchen sink was my favorite since it was sweet and salty, the lemon was a fun twist, and chocolate chip was a classic. This place is clean and overall has good sandwiches. The service overall is good too as they get the orders right and are pretty professional. The sandwiches were always delicious and the bread can tell is made fresh on site. Can even see it being baked sometimes too in the oven being baked. I would recommend getting the french dip sandwich with au jus if you want a warm sandwich here as it's so crunchy and delicious. I had one of the best versions of Chicken Caesar Salad! Love the way they make it with lots of fresh crispy romaine, chickens bits & tiny garlic sour dough croutons so it does not cut up your mouth. Yum! We wanted a quick and easy lunch so we stopped at sourdough & co. The kids meal came with a juice and apple sauce which was a nice touch. The sandwhich was delicious! Like the Sourdough & Co in Pacifica (their surcharge aside, is one of my favorite sandwich places and you can read my review on here as well) these folks make a pretty good sandwich. They even wrap the Au Jus for their French Dip in plastic wrap to prevent leaks. They get 4/5 stars, however, because they (and all of Sourdough & Co) list Swiss Cheese as a basic part of the French Dip only to charge you extra for it. Let me explain. I made the order through Uber Eats and they have it set that you MUST select a cheese for their sandwich. When you make the selection, however, they only have it built to charge extra for it. My only other issues are that they don't offer an 8-Inch like other locations and that the 6-Inch is so pricey. $17 and change is a little over the top. Ok...my issues aside, they make a great sandwich...so you should give them a try if you haven't. read more

Can't get to my favorite sub sandwich place in West Portal in SF? Sourdough & Co will do in a sub emergency. Their Italian with everything on it (must be toasted!!) is the "goat" of their menu. Everything else is OK but I would and have driven across town, pass multiple other sandwich places for S&Co's toasted Italian sandwich. So yummy. Only 2 annoyances. First is parking. Most spaces are taken up with Tesla charging stations. Second is the ambiance. Feels dark and cramped. read more

During the holidays, my son and I were wanting a sandwich and decided to try this place. Located literally on the backside of the plaza near the Tesla charging stations. We arrived and walked in. Cheerfully holiday decorated. There was more than a few tables to eat and there was two other families eating in. The lady who took our order was friendly. But the rest of the staff didn't seem as cheerful. My son and I ordered a Reuben, Hot pastrami, and a bread bowl of clam chowder. My son had himself the meal with chips and a drink. They have the self serve fountain drink station. We ended up ordering to go. We sat at one of the tables waiting for our order. Wait wasn't too bad. We got home and began to get ready to try what we ordered. The sandwiches weren't too bad, but they look nothing as advertised. The clam chowder was good besides the pieces of bruised potatoes. The bread was nice and soft. Not much of a fan of the crust tho. A slight aftertaste. We were still able to enjoy. Maybe have a better experience next time. read more

My neighbor kept talking about Sourdough & Co. It's in the old Patelco building off Crow Canyon. This part of the shopping center is so odd because it's tucked away towards the back and if you try to park, it's in close proximity to a Tesla charging station. First time we tried it, I had my "dasher" go pick it up for me. We were impressed with our tuna sandwiches but we LOVED the sourdough bread it came on. Second time, ordered sandwiches (my roast beef was okay) but this time I got a loaf of bread to take home - best decision that day because I used it for dinner. Recent visit, we got sandwiches. I went with the caprese with the bread toasted - much better. Though I have a shellfish allergy, I was told the clam chowder did not disappoint and it comes with sourdough bread slices. There is indoor dining, plus a few tables outside. Unisex restroom. Order at the counter. There is parking up front, but the business is surrounded by Tesla charging stations. read more

Sourdough & Co. was unexpectedly packed when we stopped by on a Thursday at 2 pm--every table was taken, and there were at least five people in line. It was my first visit, but as a sourdough fan and with my friend craving soup, we decided to give it a try. For about $12, you get a soup served in a warm sourdough bread bowl. The soup itself was okay--not mind-blowing but decent enough for a chilly day. The real star was the sourdough bread: top-notch with that perfect tangy flavor, warm and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Honestly, the bread bowl itself felt like a bit much for one person, especially since the $7 small soup already comes with a portion of bread. The soup portion was just right for one person, though. Despite how busy it was, we didn't have to wait long for our food, and the staff was nice, bringing everything to our table. The overall vibe is more functional than cozy, but it was clean, and we never felt rushed. Parking was pretty easy since it's in an outdoor strip mall, but heads up--several spots right in front are blocked off for Tesla chargers. If you're a fan of sourdough, it's worth a visit, but maybe skip the bread bowl if you don't want to overdo it! read more

We ordered our meals to go today. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Sandwich with the barbecue sauce on the side. I was afraid of ordering them bbq sauce on they sandwich because it might be too tangy but it was not too spicy and perfectly sweet!! Looking at the sandwich , it looks tiny, but I was fully satiated with half of a sandwich! I had another half for lunch the next day! The brisket was super tender, and they coleslaw offered a great texture difference. My 10-year old loves the clam chowder in a warm bread bowl. Quick and easy lunch spot near some great hiking trails. Met a friend at this plaza so we could carpool to a nearby trailhead and we came back for lunch here after. "Consistent, Tasty Food, Outstanding Service" I am delighted to have this new option in San Ramon. This is exactly the type of shop we need. It's not a huge store but there's still plenty of tables inside. Not surprisingly, everything was spotless the day we visited. This shop is located where the old Patelco Credit Union used to be. This is a whole lot better than a credit union! The credit union hardly ever had sandwiches or cookie samples. This restaurant employs a lot of workers! They have a great system, with everybody working hard and getting their orders out quickly. My wife ordered the pastrami sandwich and I got the southwest chicken salad. Both were prepared perfectly and delivered to our table without any problems whatsoever. The salad came with a small side of sourdough bread as well. Perfect combination! It looks like the food is standardized across every restaurant in the chain. I like the consistency, as well as the service. We also got free cookie samples today. Yay! Whoever is running this restaurant knows what they're doing. Keep up the great service! Special shout out to the cashier, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. Customer service is definitely lacking. The cashier (larger, blonde w/ glasses) was less than friendly and I felt as though my order was an inconvenience. She rushed me through my order, tried to ring me out before I was finished, and at the end I realized I'd forgotten a cookie. She grabbed it and said with you or in the bag. I replied and she walked away. I stayed there card in hand and she just ignored me. I finally said "I need to pay for my cookie" she came over, said nothing and rang it up .. then walked away again before the transaction was done. When she realized I'd requested a receipt, she sighed loudly, came back over handed me the receipt STILL SAID NOTHING then walked away. It was very awkward. After a long awaited opening of Sourdough and Company in San Ramon, we ordered some sandwiches. It was a disappointment to say the least. The posted pictures are of the pastrami sandwich and the pastrami Rueben that we received. The 3rd picture is a picture of the pastrami sandwich ad by the restaurant. What I got was a sandwich with a few slices of pastrami that was nothing close to the business photo. Took me awhile to stop in here, but it's so true, good things come to those who wait. Then again, the fun I missed!?! Very clean and nicely put together. I like the menu, filled with hot and cold sandwiches, soup, salads, and BIG cookies. I ordered a 6" smoked brisket sandwich for about $12 served on a sourdough baguette. WOW. Loved it. I do like clam chowder... It is one of my more favorite soups. The clam chowder here at sourdough & Company, was decent and edible, but nothing too crave really. I did enjoy it being that it was a rainy day and so it was a nice comfort food with delightful sourdough bread with it. I usually like clams in my clam chowder and this seem to be lacking a little bit, but it was a creamy soup. You order first and then you find a table... Clean ambience and service was good. They just opened 3 days ago. Shame to see people be so quick to give negative reviews before giving a new business a chance but that's just the way some people are I guess. Had not been in any other location so my first time. Ordered a 8" hot pastrami with Swiss. Pastrami super tasty and the bread was crunchy and chewy. Tough to rate such a young staff but I saw no issues. Ordered online. Was ready on time. Staff was friendly. For the quality of the sandwich, thought value was quite good. I will give them 4 stars for now since the clam chowder tasted good and the bread was fine. The staff was nice but the cleanliness of the restaurant remains a work in progress I'm assuming.
