    Chola sandwich
    Debbie F.

First of all the staff does not know the menu! Large board menu right next to counter (see picture) has small Mac and cheese price as $5.99 yet female clerk with the mask on insisted it was $8.99! I got tired of arguing and was trying to show my granddaughters a good time so finally just ordered it. The Cobb salad was half slimy rotten lettuce. We ate inside and the Mac and salad took over 20 minutes even with an empty restaurant. Then it took another 20 minutes for the other 2 sandwiches to come! The crispy chicken sandwich was pretty good. The Cholula sandwich was a soggy mess. The sourdough bread is delicious. Very disappointing!

This is what they advertise. Wasn't even close. Wilted, sad lettuce, no Parmesan, hardly any chicken, and no Caesar dressing. Plain.

When I pulled the restaurant up to order I commented to my husband that they only had 3-1/2 stars... I thought they had more... but no problem... we ordered again. We ordered two Italian sandwiches and a Caesar Chicken salad to split. My husband arrived on time, picked up the bag, which felt light and commented, "two sandwiches and a salad right?"-- nope, only one sandwich... no problem... they threw a sandwich together and he came home. The chicken Caesar salad had lettuce, some croutons, and a small (VERY SMALL) amount of chicken. No dressing. So we had to dress it ourself, with salad dressing. Didn't have Caesar salad dressing, so it wasn't that. Really pitiful. I understand the drop in stars. Management better get their act together, because sandwich places are a dime, a dozen. You aren't special anymore.

I learned a lesson- go with your first choice - I've been trying to practice that - I find when I do t do that- I wish I got what I wanted first . I got the herb crusted halibut - good - yet I was wanting more - the short rib bites were that- short . I was wanting more - and my guest got the Superfood salad with chicken- that's a huge win- it was so good - my first choice was the braised short ribs- mmmmmmmmmmmmm. I like the place. It's an old house converted and it has rustic charm. Outside seating is cozy with a fire and warmers - it was a little too chilly last Sunday for us- we were out all day and inside was nice .. it was a slow and cozy Sunday- it started to pick up when we were finishing up- unlike it here and we will be back. The staff is very nice - the food is good and easy parking - it's a win .

However, it was a lovely day on Wednesday,so requested outdoor seating. They were not too busy and happily organized a table for 10 outside. We had a looong lunch, and enjoyed it! Great ambiance, delicious food and excellent service! Highly recommended!

I tried their pick up option online so I could order and pay without waiting. The app even tells when your order is ready. I decided to build my own sandwich and ordered a roast beef and turkey sandwich on Dutch crunch with everything. Picked it up to a friendly greeting and smiles from all of the staff. Took it home to eat and wow this was a huge sandwich and full of ingredients. Unfortunately I noticed quickly it was all turkey and no roast beef. They forgot my meat. I sure hope they get it right next time. I should say that even without my roast beef this was an incredible tasty sandwich. Every bite got better and better. I honestly can say I haven't had a deli sandwich as good as this in a very long time. Probably the best Dutch crunch roll ever and so soft with the perfect amount of crunch and sweetness on top. This sandwich was pure heaven and so big but I was hungry and wanted to go right back for another. Still one of the best sandwiches in the Bay Area and I'm so glad there finally in my hometown of Pleasanton. I'll be back soon and very often I guarantee! It's a must try if you're in the area or even if it's a bit of a drive. Tell em Scotty sent you.

To drink, we had passionfruit mimosas, the maitai (the non-classic one), the chi chi, and the painless (mocktail). All were delicious and beautifully presented. To eat, we shared the Spam musubi. Another lovely presentation! The ratio of Spam to rice to seaweed was balanced and came with a tasty sauce drizzled overtop and a different one on the side. For brunch entrees, we had the ube waffles (one as is and one with chicken katsu), the kalua pork breakfast sandwich? And the poke bowl. The ube waffles are unique and delicious! They are topped with whipped cream, ube syrup, and a fresh fruit salsa; all complemented the waffles well. The chicken katsu was perfectly coated in panko and fried well. The poke was refreshing and came with crunchy pickled vegetables, edamame, and avocado; which was a healthy and tasty brunch dish! The Kalua pork breakfast sandwich was hearty and savory, and the potato salad completed the plate nicely. We finished our meal with the Hula pie. Must get, even if you don't have room! If you're looking for a great brunch spot with delicious island inspired food and a lovely patio (dog-friendly), make sure to check out Kaia's!
