Incredible spot for brunch! The decor is absolutely adorable and the whole place has such a cute, cozy atmosphere that's perfect for brunch. The service was also amazing everyone was so friendly and welcoming! Everything we ordered was delicious. I had the huevos rancheros, breakfast potatoes, sourdough French toast, and a blackberry mojito, and I enjoyed everything. The sourdough French toast was definitely my favorite it had such a good balance of sweetness, and the sourdough flavor cut through it just enough that it wasn't overly sweet or cloying. And my boyfriend, who isn't vegan, ended up finishing the French toast, which is how I KNOW it was objectively delicious The blackberry mojito was also delicious and super refreshing for brunch. I also love that they have outdoor seating, and the area around the restaurant is really cute to walk around and explore afterward. A phenomenal brunch spot that is sure to make meat lovers fall in love with vegan food. The restaurant was very busy, but my cousin and I were able to snag a seat after a 15-minute wait. Everything sounded delicious, but we went with the recommendations made by a staff member. We decided to share the infamous smash burger, the watermelon salad, and the pistachio bread. For drinks, we both got an iced lavender latte, which was delicious. I loved how the cardamom complemented the lavender so well and it was very refreshing and not too sweet. The smash burger was the best vegan patty I have had in years. It was very flavorful and moist. The watermelon salad was delicious, especially the avocado mousse. I would confidently say that Blossom and Root is the best vegetarian restaurant in the Bay Area and it may be my favorite restaurant hands down. Food: Key to a great restaurant is consistency. The food and dishes are consistently great at Blossom and Root over many visits. I have tried the Smash burger, yellow curry, Mediterranean bowl, french toast, pancakes, chilaquiles, breakfast burrito and several other dishes. Yellow curry is my hands down favorite but honestly no dish has ever disappointed. Every dish is always very freshly prepared. You can tell. They have a kids menu as well. It's really hard to find vegan options or dairy free options at a restaurant these days. Almost every place is mostly fried food despite cuisine. This place was a breath of fresh air. It is beautiful inside and has a gorgeous patio with views of the cute downtown area. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly and didn't rush us out. What a cute place! We decided to bring our vegan daughter for her birthday and we all really enjoyed it! It was Sunday at noon and they were very busy, so the service was spotty and a bit on the slow side, however, the manager or owner (not sure what title the woman had) came over and acknowledged how slow it was which we appreciated. It did take at least a half hour before we got our coffees and they got it wrong on one of them so I would suggest going on a less busy time. However, we all enjoyed our food very much! My husband had the Chilaquiles and I had the Huevos Rancheros and both were so yummy! Our daughter and her husband had the tofu scramble and French toast which they enjoyed a lot. I'm not sure how much I would enjoy the French toast though as it appeared with no syrup but rather the toast was partially soaked in some sort of syrup type thing and no extra syrup was given. He enjoyed it though but I didn't ask for a blow by blow description of it, so my opinion is purely based on how it looked. For dessert, they brought out the most delicious huge chocolate chip cookie with a candle for our daughter's birthday and we all shared it. It was sooooo good! Two of us had chai espresso martinis that were very tasty! We did order sangria but had to return it which I try to never do unless I really dislike something. Neither of us liked the sangria. We stopped by Blossom and Root on our recent visit to Northern California and it's the kind of restaurant that I could go to at least 3 times a week and still enjoy it. The fully vegan menu is very well crafted with highly nutritious and delicious options including greens and all sorts of proteins (beans, chickpeas, tofu) without fake meats and cheeses. Portions are perfect for sharing (tapas style) so you get to enjoy more than just one item. The service was super friendly and the restaurant is clean and beautifully and cozy decorated. First timer. Long wait to get an order in and not too many people in the restaurant. I would not recommend ordering the Chilled Beet and Avocado "Bowl." It was about 1/4 cup quinoa and millet and more tangerine oranges than grains. Look at the difference of portion sizes from our experience vs Yelp photos. I felt this was inadequate and asked for more grains. I got a 1/2 cup of extra quinoa (only). Tofu scramble and pancakes (adult and kid versions) were good. The server tried to insinuate that the adult pancakes weren't enough, but they were more than enough. We also ordered one orange juice for a child (paper cup with a copper straw jammed through the opening) and hot tea. Honest review, it was overpriced and moderately good. Soon more people started trickling in and it became quite busy. I adore the cute space. It felt very homey and comfortable. For food we started with the mushroom lettuce wraps. It was topped with crispy rice with Bibb lettuce, fresh basil, mint, cilantro, a side of pickles with lime. Medley of mushrooms were cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed this appetizer. For the main dishes we opted for the specials of the night - drunken noodles and Toscana pasta. The drunken noodles were quite spicy which my friend enjoyed. I also loved the creamy tomato pasta that I had. For dessert we got then cheesecake mouse and it was light and dreamy! The salads had a delicious grill char flavor, and all of the entrees were hearty and satisfying. My son felt his tofu bowl was a bit too spicy for him, and didn't love his blackberry limeade, but he still tried to eat up all the rest. Overall, we appreciated the tasty dishes, and our service was very courteous with recommendations and a smile. To those concerned about price, it's a sign of the times, not just for this restaurant IMO. But you get what you pay for, and we need more of this kind of food.. done right.
