I tried this slow G's healthy eatery for the first time order a breakfast sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. I did not have to change anything about it which is very rare because I'm so picky with food and flavor. They knocked it out of the park. I will be back.
Located in a plaza next to Smart & Final, there is plenty of parking. They have indoor and outdoor seating. This is my go to breakfast burrito spot, filling and healthy! They have sandwiches, salads, wraps, and hot plates. Excited to try more!
Walked in with the 88-year-old woman I care for and the person at the counter was very helpful with going over things and explaining them to her took his time and was very polite the food was delicious and tasted clean and healthy we were very happy we stopped in. We had two different sandwiches both were delicious.
This place was right in the complex where we stopped for gas on a road trip. We were searching for a snack and I couldn't believe my luck that I found this place so easily. Place is small, cafe style with around 5 tables. Menu is a mix of sandwiches, Indianized sandwiches, bowls and biryani. We decided to stick to the sandwiches and ordered their special sandwich with chicken and avocados and one chicken tikka masala sandwich. They used very less salt and I didn't find any cheese in the sandwich so I can see why this is healthy. But the chicken avocado was flavorless in my opinion. Without much salt it just fell flat. The chicken tikka sandwich on the other hand was mildly spiced with very less salt as well, the sandwich didn't have anything other than the curry so it kind of got a tad bit tiring towards the end. Props to them for attempting a healthier take on some of these dishes but my taste buds were seeking a bit more.
Customer service is a delight. Some organic options but the things that aren't are made in store (pesto is organic, quinoa is organic). Offers lettuce and cucumber wraps for all the sandwhiches, super flexible on requests. Perfect for low carb healthy eaters!

Slow G's tuna salad sandwich was yummy. Adding sweet chili sauce changed the flavor profile. Toasting it and making it a melt took it over the top. Unfortunately, the next 2 sandwiches weren't as yummy. The cold turkey sandwich was dry. I think the turkey breast was roasted in-house. It needed a sauce or spread for moisture. Even the creamy avocado slices couldn't save it. Actually took the leftovers home and slathered on ligonberry sauce (didn't have cranberry) and cream cheese. Much better. The rainbow veggie sandwich had potential but tasted bland to me. The pesto and hummus needed some kick. The raw veggies needed seasoning. Didn't like the grainy texture of the cheese. Not giving up. Can't wait to come back and try the curry chicken salad and chicken tikka sandwiches everyone's raving about.
Next to Smart and Final, tucked behind Taco Bell and the Donut Shop is this hidden gem. I have passed it a dozen times but noted that they were highly rated in The Infatuation for their breakfast sandwich. The review was not wrong. It's top notch. Remarkably, it's vegetarian. Japanese rolled omelette. lettuce, tomato, avocado. I am a carnivore. I was very impressed. Slight touch of indian spice. Proprietor was friendly and focused. Lots of nice choices. Stopped by this cozy sandwich spot on our way to Sam's club (coming from SJ). We were greeted warmly assuming by the shop owner. There's a vast selection of sandwiches and salad we didn't know what to choose. Eventually we settled with the chicken pesto sandwich and the tuna quinoa salad. - chicken pesto sandwich - before we settled on this sandwich the owner did warn us that it was going to be more bland compared to his other sandwiches since it is a healthier option. He recommended the chicken bruschetta which has more flavor. However, since we are on a stricter diet, we ended up with the chicken pesto. The sandwich was still good despite being bland. The pesto wasn't overpowering and it felt very light to eat. Definitely would recommend this sandwich if you're on a diet and need something clean. -tuna quinoa salad - VERYY filling. I ended up not finishing my half of the plate because I still had an untouched sandwich that I still had to eat. The quinoa really fills you up and it's not one of those dry grainy textured ones. It was soft to the touch and paired very well with the tuna. The tuna was not a strong tuna flavor which balanced the salad very well. Overall, we would definitely come back whenever we decide to go back to this area! It seemed liked every customer knew the owner which brought a smile to our face because it show how connected everyone is in this area. :)

They do take at least 10-15 min to make your sandwiches so keep that in mind when ordering. I had the Diablo Salad and added chicken for an extra $6. It's a large salad with enough veggies and protein. On top, they put flax seed chips. It was very filling and it was enough for 2 meals. Would come back if in the area!
I don't know why I keep reviewing this place because clearly I love it but I must reiterate how consistently delicious, fresh, and special this restaurant is! From the kind staff to the flavorful edamame pesto sandwich, you can't go wrong here. Today, I also tried the spicy chicken sandwich and chicken bruschetta sandwich (both bangers).
Reviews are largely positive. People highlight the fresh, flavorful food, unique sandwiches, and friendly, attentive service. The inviting atmosphere is also appreciated.

I forgot the name of this eatery, so I spent the last 15 minutes looking through Yelp businesses in different cities. I finally found it through my credit card statement! I was determined to find this spot again, because it was THAT amazing. I really wanted to leave a great review and now I have the spot saved for future visits! The owner was super friendly and helpful! He recommended the customer favorite, Chicken Tikka Sandwich, which was one of the best and most unique sandwiches I have ever had! It's different from your typical ham and cheese sandwich. There was so much flavor and everything was nicely cooked and wrapped. The Curry Chicken Salad Sandwich was slightly lighter in flavor, but also very delicious! I'm sure all their sandwiches are great too, but I highly recommend the Chicken Tikka and Curry Chicken Salad Sandwiches! read more

My father in law loves this place. Whenever he visits he requests to go here. He loves the avocado chicken sandwich. I have had the tuna melt, caprese sandwich and jays special with chicken. If it's your first time I recommend anything off the popular menu. It's a small place so take it to go or there's a few chairs outside you can sit at. Owner is very friendly too! read more

Slow G's is our go-to for a healthy lunch or road trip takeout. The selection of sandwiches and loaded salads is fantastic. All their proteins and sauces are freshly made in-house. All the ingredients are of the best quality and freshness. Try their pork or beef J's sandwich or a superfood Tuna salad. Treat yourself to a delicious cookie as well. The owners are the nicest people as well! read more

I was shocked to see that it has been seven years since I first met Jay at that time the new owner. What I find incredibly admirable are two things: One is that Jay has upheld and surpassed his commitment to only serving real non processed food that is deliciously prepared. I truly feel his food is prepared with his love that he has for people! Two is that Jay's demeanor, attitude, and his love of humanity have never diminished not one iota in all of these years. No matter what time of day, how many people are in there or not in there Jay is always his authentic self spreading his love and good cheer to all people and that is truly admirable. read more

This is the Jay Special with Pork. This is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The hospitality was great and they even gave us a free cookie, but the sandwich was so light and so tasty and the meat was great quality and they gave us a snickerdoodle cookie for free and it was one of the best snickerdoodle cookies I've ever had. Stumbled upon this gem on my way home from work. The menu looked really good and the options were creative! I grabbed their Jay's Special chicken sandwich. SO GOOD! I'd like to say that this was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. delicious and so very fresh! The bread was perfectly toasted, the chicken was juicy and tender, the crunch in the sandwich was on point! The service was super quick. Karan helped me with my order, he was so courteous and accomodating. He even gave my two kiddos a Madeline each. How sweet! I'm definitely coming back here whenever I need a quick bite. read more

Well, this was my first time at Sow G's. Honestly, I learned about this restaurant as I was walking my dog at a park in Danville. The Lady named Lisa kept telling a friend and I how great the food was and urged us to try it. It is on Diablo street to the right of Smart & Final. I have been to the strip hundreds of times but never noticed Slow G's. I guess the name comes from the method they use to cook their food slow on low heat!!!! I love Indian food and the menu had some Indian fusion type sandwich and meals. I ordered the Chicken Tikka sandwich. It is like Chicken Tikka Masala in a sandwich. In short, it was outstanding. I was there at 12:30PM and it is now 6:47PM and I can still taste it. The spices and flavor just exploded in my mouth. The bread was very unique and it was something new as I had never had such bread. See the photo so that you can appreciate what I am taking about. Also, after I ordered my sandwich, I struck a conversation with the young man behind the cash register. He was very friendly and told me about the restaurant and the food. He said next time I go there I should try their spicy Biriyani. I assure you that I will and very soon. Also, while I waited, I walked over to a display board on the wall and had a lesson in self-motivation and overcoming difficult times. It was as if God put there for me to read. I'm in this marketplace in Danville quite often. After all, my barbershop is there and Smart & Final, and they are my regular stops. I've wondered about Slow G's and their great reviews, but the "healthy" in the name had me looking the other way. That is, until recently. It's definitely NOT your regular sandwich shop, and it caught me off-guard. You won't find any sliced turkey here. In fact, only sandwiches (and salads, and plates) that are made with slow-cooked made in-house chicken, pork, and beef. Sign me up! A super nice gent guided me thru the process. I ordered a JAY SPECIAL with sliced pork, homemade pesto aioli, Havarti cheese, romaine lettuce, and fresh avocado served on a toasted ciabatta roll. Served warm, it was quite spectacular. The roll was magnificent! Such a great compliment of flavors. [$12, 4.5 stars]. They have many more unique combinations of sandwiches. Oh yes, I'll be back often. read more

Yummy, healthy, and filling meals here at Slow G's! I've tried their sandwiches years ago, but under new ownership, they have expanded their menu to include delicious Indian dishes/sandwiches as well! Thank you! Food: 1. Chicken Biryani {4/5 stars, $15} - Huge portions of chicken and rice with avocado and blueberries. I never seen avocado as a topping on biryani, but it went well. The blueberries I've had in biryani before and really tastes good with the spices and chicken. The rice is tender and flavorful and chicken was juicy and tender. Although, more chicken can be added. Service for take out: Exceptional. Online order through website. Very fast and efficient. Gives set time to pickup and was made on time. The employee or owner was very friendly and kind, made me feel like a valuable guest. Overall: A delicious and friendly restaurant to pick up anything from sandwiches to hot plates, with great portions, service, and taste! Highly recommend. read more

My family loves to eat healthy food. We have ordered food from Slow G's Healthy Eatery several times in the past. Today, I felt like a salad for lunch, and I had an hour to get food a bring it back, so we chose this restaurant because there's always plenty of free parking and it is close to home. When we walked in, the smell of fragrant spices and meats had us change our minds and order sandwiches. We ordered Jay's special roast beef sandwich and a chicken tikka sandwich with a mango lassi which we shared. Jay's special roast beef sandwich was super flavorful. I really enjoyed the different textures of the ingredients. If I ordered this sandwich next time, the only thing I would change the meat selection. I think it might taste better with poultry. As for the chicken tikka sandwich, my partner ordered it super spicy, so it really did pack a punch. The chicken inside the sandwich was a little dry for my taste but the flavor was quite tasty. One really great thing about this restaurant is that they are always really friendly. Be prepared to wait a bit for your order, but good things come to those who wait. read more

Our friends suggested to stop here for lunch before we head to Mt Diablo National park. We got the biryani with chicken and southwest quinoa bowl. The biryani was really good and flavorful. Also, we got their cold coffee drink and it was good. read more
