Very good food, but I agree with others about the service. The vibes are great; the staff are friendly and you can tell they care about making it a family-friendly experience. I saw them giving treats to dogs and toys to kids. However, the issue is really about the wait times. They have too many tables for the amount of staff and it takes a long time to get your food. Also, we weren't checked on after we received our food. I did really enjoy my Medlyn scramble. I have never seen that type of combination before and I loved it. The hashbrowns were amazing! With only one person acting as server, place can get pretty busy... No refill on coffee, no checking to see if anything else needs to be added and alert yourself that the huevos rancheros is basically a big bag of chips with melted cheese on it no tortilla no beans, almost identical to nachos. read more

I took my daughters to Valley Medlyn's on Easter. It was my first time and boy do I wish I would have tried them sooner. It was as if we had gone to a family member's house. We felt so welcome and spoiled by the staff. My daughters got Easter crafts, Coloring books and a small toy each. The French toast I ordered for the girls was so good that I had to order an extra one for myself. I got the Greek omelette with rye toast. We have passed this restaurant several times, and today was the first time we walked in. I'm so glad that we did! We were seated in a booth at one end of the restaurant. It was clean, and we noticed that they cleaned the tables with cleaners and disposable wipes which is great because it doesn't spread the germs around. They noticed that we had a little toddler with us, and they offered him a car to play with and a coloring packet with crayons which totally made his day. He was so happy throughout the meal and did not fuss or fight with us the entire time. First, we ordered our drinks. The hot cocoa was super adorable with a mountain of whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles and an edible straw made out of Pirouline Rolled Wafers in the flavor of Chocolate Hazelnut. My stepdaughter loved this! My daughter ordered a rather large cranberry juice which was good. I ordered a mimosa, and not only was it large, it was strong! We also ordered a vanilla oat milk latte which we will order with a shot of espresso next time as we are a high octane type of family. For entrees, I ordered French toast which I have no photos of because my son grabbed one off of my plate right away. I loved how the the large scoop of butter was soft and melts in the middle of the French toast halves. I was able to quickly spread bits of butter on each slice, while dipping each slice of toast in my syrup - this was decadent! My daughter ordered the corned beef hash with scrambled eggs and sourdough. She was kind enough to let me eat some and she didn't notice that I took some away from her so she was eating it slowly. She found out that I ate some then she quickly finished the rest of her plate! My stepdaughter loved her Mickey Mouse pancakes with a side MOUNTAIN of whipped cream with rainbow sprinkles and a Pirouline Rolled Wafer! My partner wasn't in love with the Diablo sandwich but I didn't taste it. Presentation was fantastic for everything! Customer service was amazing! Everyone was so friendly and nice! This is one of the rare Diner type restaurants in the area. They are very small and it is a challenge to get a seat most weekends. The service is sometimes a little slow but never real bad. I think that they tend to operate on the very edge of being short handed when it's busy. The food is always high quality and tasty. I love their biscuits and gravy. The omelets are good. We went to Vally Medlyn's for breakfast last week. I ordered the Maui Omelette (ham, onions, bell peppers and pineapples). It was very good and I would consider ordering it again. The only thing I would change is the thickness of the egg. It was in almost like a crepe. I want the egg part of the omelette to be thicker. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict. She thought it was pretty tasty. They also told us that they can accommodate for my son's allergy to tree nuts and peanuts by cooking his food separately from other foods. We appreciate that. I would've never thought of coming here if it wasn't because of my friend given the fact that the restaurant looks really outdated and the food pictures look mediocre (sorry!). They kept good track of those waiting and we were lucky enough to snag a cozy booth. Drinks were sweet and delicious - I got a hot chocolate and my friend a latte and both came with a little chocolate tuile cookie :) I got the Medlyn scramble (recommended over the Greek omelette by the waiter) and it was so good! So this has been a breakfast spot gem in Danville since I grow up here that almost 40 years now. The place is small so if you coming with a big party like 4 or more be prepared to wait a little. But if yourself or a party of 2 you can just slide into the counter spots. There only about 6 chair counter spots too. So be ready to be friendly with you neighbor. I never been disappointed with my breakfast here. There only 2 reasons not getting 5 stars here for breakfast that only open til 1pm all week long.
