Early May 2025 The location and service : Friendly staff, new location inside Blackhawk Plaza, location looks bigger, brighter cleaner and brand new :) The food: kids - pepperoni pizza kids portion, butter pasta, Adults: shrimp po-boy with onion rings - the shrimp could do with a little more Cajun seasoning and fried with more batter

Great ambiance outside overlooking the water and the Blackhawk Museum. The restaurant is tucked away in Blackhawk Plaza. I had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken, applewood bacon, avocado, and blue cheese, with a delicious dressing. The salad came with pita triangles and the salad was huge; I was gonna safe for later but it was too good. Our server was attentive and friendly.

First time at their new location for Saturday night live Country music. The place was packed and mostly by reservation but they were able to seat us outside on the patio. Staff was friendly, food was tasty, and the band was great!

Fat Maddie's Blackhawk is a nice step up from the little Fat Maddie's near Danville Costco. They had a special menu along with breakfast. We are off the special menu and had a an avocado toast and blackened salmon tacos. Service was pleasant friendly and healthful. Fat Maddie's is adjacent to the pond. It was too cold for outside but the sunlight was adding a nice indoor ambiance. We recommend you give them a try.

The team worked quick to serve us and make sure we had a wonderful time. On the food front, everything was great. I got their grilled salmon special which I hope becomes a mainstay on their menu, as it was perfectly cooked and tasted fresh and packed with flavors. Their French onion soup was good, and so was their clams appetizer. I'd also recommend saving room for dessert, as all of their pastry items were very tasty too. Overall this is a great spot to check out if you're in the area, the food is great and so is the service!

Came here with friends/compatriots for a dinner after a long day of work. The ambience is great,…read morethe staff very friendly and we were seated quickly. The menu is extensive enough for most tastes, and we did order a variety of foods to test that theory! The ones we ordered and have photos for include: Pear Quesadilla (Pears, brie cheese, flour tortilla, pear chutney); Calamari Fritti; New York White Cheddar Fondue; Bishop Ranch salad (Baby greens, pear, candied walnuts, blue cheese, balsamic vinaigrette); and for dessert: Warm Pear Tart (Puff pastry, vanilla ice cream, caramel), and a Seasonal Bread Pudding. The food came quickly and hot from the kitchen - except the salad and desserts! The food was very tasty, and the pear quesadilla and fondue were favorites for the uniqueness and the taste. The fondue had sliced pears along with the bread, a great change in the usual fondue take. The salad was also liked, fresh and a good variety of tastes and textures. They subbed the dressing for ranch. The desertas were also a hit, being shared. The warm pear tart was best liked, and very sweet and traditional in taste, but the bread pudding was also a close second. The pear tart was new to us, though. The service was great, and Cesar R. took good care of us. Overall, a great time! Can't wait for another excuse to be in the area for dinner.

To start on a positive note, our server Mike was attentive and provided good service throughout the evening. However, the food quality did not meet expectations, especially given that our meal was nearly $400. * The sautéed white gulf prawns were average * The salads were fine * The boneless ribeye (ordered medium rare) came out rare and was very fatty/gristly * The hamburger was dry * The petite filet was undercooked (rare instead of medium rare) * The lobster was overcooked and chewy * Sides were acceptable but did not make up for the issues with the main dishes There was also confusion about lobster availability when ordering, which added to the inconsistency of the experience. This was meant to be a meaningful birthday dinner, which made the experience especially disappointing. I did try to contact the restaurant directly through their website form and by calling multiple times but have not received any response.
