    Pizza with proscuitto

Pasta was really delicious! I got the shortrib tortellino & my fiance got the white truffle gnocchi. Both were great choices! Calamari had good seasoning but would've liked them to be crispy. Bruschetta was ok, would've been better with a balsamic glaze! Pizza with proscuitto was solid. Most of our table loved their pasta except for the seafood linguine, it really lacked flavor. Staff was nice & they sang happy bday to my fiance and brought out ice cream

Went here for a bridal shower, the interior beyond quaint and charmingly homey, the outside vibrant and colorful perfect for al fresco. They have multiple rooms with a different vibe, and the food? Superb! We had a mix of courses: roasted salmon with vegetables and an eggplant tomato based penne pasta. Each excellent and the absolute fire part? The salmon perfectly cooked and not at all tough, like so many places these days do. The service and attention to detail perfect, warm and friendly. As I was writing on the card, my elbow knocked over a glass which went crashing to the floor--within 5 minutes of being there. Klutz strikes again, but the guy was super sweet and not irritated, just went about to get a broom and brushed the glass shards away.

Spent Valentine's Day here and the food was very tasty. The flavors are very true to Italian cuisine, very upscale. They have a huge outdoor seating area with heating lamps. Our waitress was very attentive and took great care of us.

Went to Danville for date night and found this place. Definitely want a reservation as it was packed. Got the caprese salad and artichoke beignets to start. The tomatoes for the caprese were fantastic. The beignets were flavorful but nothing special. Gnocchi was flavorless and a bit mushy. Pizza had great crust but the prosciutto on top of it was meh. Tasted a bit plasticy. All decently priced for Danville though. Probably won't go back

Carlos = malicious server tipping himself

I had Mother's Day lunch at Locanda Ravello, and what happened at the end of the meal completely ruined the experience. When it came time to pay, the waiter, Carlos, processed my card, walked away with the handheld payment device, and somehow added himself a $36.55 tip before handing me the receipt. What makes this even more suspicious is that $36.55 was not one of the preset gratuity options on the device. It had to be manually entered. When I questioned the charge and asked to speak with a manager, Carlos returned and claimed he "didn't know how it happened" and that he must have "mistakenly tipped himself." I find that explanation impossible to believe. Accidentally entering a custom tip amount is not a simple error - it comes across as deliberate, nefarious, malicious, and completely unacceptable behavior. The manager eventually came out, apologized, voided the transaction, and re-ran the charge. He also mentioned Carlos had worked there for three years and that this had "never happened before." Maybe this was the first time he got caught. While I appreciate that the charge was corrected, the situation was not handled with the seriousness it deserved. In a time when people are already stretched financially, helping yourself to a customer's money is not a harmless mistake. It destroys trust. Ironically, I still left a tip because I didn't want the rest of the staff to suffer for one employee's actions, though it was far less than I originally intended to leave. Needless to say, I will never return. If you dine here, I strongly recommend carefully reviewing your payment screen and receipt before leaving.

Locanda Ravello is a Danville Staple for a very good reason, amazing pizza, pasta, anti-pasta and drop a good bottle of wine. This place is cute place, in a cute city with a great staff and over all just a great spot. 10/10 will repeat.

Ive been to 3 other Locanda locations and this was by far my favorite experience. Having spent a few weeks in Italy earlier this year, this gave me the most authentic experience. Our server was from Venice (I believe his name was Matteo?) and he was very pleasant and k new the menu well. Even though the restaurant was busy we didn't feel rushed. The outdoor seating was perfect for the day. All the food was delicious from the gnocchi, to the seafood ravioli, meatballs, cheese blossoms, the pizzas and the lasagna was the chefs kiss! Will definitely be returning.

Came here for dinner with the boo on a Saturday night. It was hot out so we sat inside. There is a very nice outdoor patio area though. The service was great, and the dishes were quite good. You also get complimentary bread with an olive spread. The fritto misto was a tad salty, but everything else was perfect. The cocktails are strong, which means we had a great night. All in all we would definitely come back to try their famous pizza!

I haven't been here in years. I was craving Italian food and our other favorites didn't have opening until later. Found parking across the street behind the small business and walked from there. We were seated in the house next door to their original location (from what I remembered). Apparently they hold events here and store wine as well as they were displayed throughout. We were greeted with water right away and given some time to review. I usually scan a menu and go with the first few things that look delicious based on the ingredients listed that catch my eye. We always order enough to share and maybe bring home for a midnight snack. Tartufata Pizza (proscriptionde Parma), Fritto Misto (calamari rings, artichoke), and a Caesar salad for good measure, possibly saving room for a good tiramisu, my go-to dessert at Italian restos. Caesar came out right away. It was okay. Lettuce wasn't chilled or crispy, room temp almost. Croutons kinda over toaster. Shaved parm was nice and sharp. Dressing was missing some umph. Tang? Fritto misto looked really promising. Some bites were nice and crunchy, nicely seasoned. Whereas other bites were like a salt bomb. I did like the whole bunch of legs that J don't see often which makes me think they bring in fresh seafood and fish vs packaged. The calamari rings were fun to eat. Artichoke was a refreshing change. Not sure what to do with the side of dressing or sauce, next to the pile of spring mix. Overall, it was good. But not my favorite. The server asked us if we were ready to have the main entrees placed in the middle of bites. We were. Pizza and ravioli came out together. Surprisingly the lagostino sauce (I think that's what it was called) was balanced ans delicious. I wish the dish itself was hotter (in temperature). The filling was tasty. Pizza crunchy was nice and dough with specs of dark on the edge. The prosciutto was delicious along with the mushrooms (bitter and nutty like baby shimeji mushrooms). The thing that I didn't like was the pizza was a bit runny/watery at the base making the base a bit soggy. I used the crust to lap up the pasta sauce, cleaning the plate. I had to finish my meal with something sweet, even though we had our heart set on ice cream across the street. Tiramisu, of course, with a piping hot tongue burning cup of coffee. Tiramisu was mascapone and great flavor. The creamer for the coffee was fresh, foamy. Overall, the meal was good. Glad that we didn't have to travel far for this. Intimate ambiance.

Hands down our favorite place for a guaranteed good meal. It's where we go to celebrate, the easy choice for happy hour, and always where we bring friends and family from out of town. We're always treated like family and feel at home when we're there. Besides the good vibes, the food is always delicious and comforting. I like the simpler menu items like pasta pomodoro or pasta vongole, margherita pizza with arugula, and surprisingly my all time favorite is the ribeye with roasted veg and steak fries. Each has so much flavor and yet such few ingredients.

My bf and I were craving pizza & pasta on a random Thursday and chose to check out Locanda based on the raving reviews. And they did not disappoint! I got the pesto gnocchi and my bf had a Margherita pizza. We also shared the meatball appetizer. Everything was fantastic! Also loved the inside of the restaurant. It's small but so quaint. Service was quick and we had leftovers for lunch the next day. Would definitely come back when I'm in the area!

    Tortellini
    E.K. H.

We did a pickup order for dinner - a Tortellini and a lasagna. The tortellini was quite pitiful for $26.95. Looks like they just boiled the tortellini and dumped some butter sauce over it. Waaay overpriced. Will not go back again.

I did not even think to alert my friends about what I read because I thought after reading other Yelp reviews and looking up their Instagram posts with beautiful photos and people looking like they were enjoying this restaurant, that what was described in that 1-star review must have been a rare occurrence. Boy was I wrong because to my dismay when we arrived at their restaurant door last evening, it happened to us and I did not want to believe it, but all the evidence was there to show they were in fact, CLOSED. Two other customers and our group arrived at the same time in advance of our 6pm reservation time, only to see their door closed, lights off, with nobody inside. We were confused not only because we did not receive a message notifying us that their restaurant would be closed and our reservation needed to be canceled, but also because the customers who arrived when we did said they had booked their reservation yesterday, meaning the reservation system was still active. What's more is we did not see any signage on their door or windows about being closed, but instead we saw an EBMUD notice on the door stating water service payment was overdue, which we were not expecting to see upon our arrival. Our group needed to quickly figure out a plan B for our birthday celebration dinner, as our friend had planned and reserved The Library Social Club over a month ago. I dine at many restaurants and any time there needs to be a change or cancelation for any reason by a restaurant business, I have received an e-mail, a text, or a phone call alert, as a customer courtesy call, and I have at the very least, even seen hand written notes on restaurant doors and windows as signage alerting customers of their business being closed. Needless to say, we were disappointed and frustrated by this incident today. We drove from out of town to try this restaurant that was not even open when customers had reservations. Fortunately, our friend proposed a different restaurant that we could walk to and they sat us promptly upon arrival. We enjoyed their delicious food instead!

I was the first to walk in around 4ish in the afternoon (they have happy hour!) and I was offered a seat and water quickly. I decided to order the smoked salmon crudo and the gentleman (I think one of the owners?) gave me some pairing suggestions. While that was getting prepared in the kitchen, he offered me a tasting of another white wine on the house, which was so kind! In the picture below... it's most drunk haha but it was a nice amount to taste and sip on. That smoked salmon crudo is SO GOOD. The citrus adds a nice brightness, and I think there was a hint of honey used in the vinaigrette. I was pleasantly surprised and it's easily the best smoked salmon dish I've had in a while! The wine was excellent as well. I was only in for about an hour, maybe an hour and a half before I moved on, but I got to hear regulars come in and greet the owner like old friends. There's a really cool vibe here, with great music and decor, so I really wished I lived closer to visit more often! As I was leaving, I did chat with the gentleman again (complimented him/the wine bar) and he said he hoped that I would come again as he is trying to work with his partners to add more to the menu (the regulars that came in were asking after the gumbo and the brunch, which they were not serving at the time). I definitely hope to visit again and try those other menu items!

As our organizer mentioned, they were fully booked that night so do reserve early. Warm earthy tones in the decor made for a comfortable, inviting atmosphere and the light jazz ensemble and lovely vocal performances elevated the evening's experience. The ambiance is a strong point. Being a paella newbie, I definitely looked forward to tasting a version especially after watching cooking shows over the years. The saffron broth rice nicely counterbalanced the seasoned shrimp, sausage and other ingredients. Thumbs up. I had several portions. The tempura cauliflower - good. KR Enchiladas were cheesey and rich, plumply filled, and the accompanied rice accented with corn. Since we shared the three enchiladas, my small piece was enough for me. Suggest passing on the sourdough side that came with the paella. The bread had melted, but cooled cheese on it and there was not much free broth in the paella to soak therewith anyway. With water being the group's primary beverage, perhaps request a carafe of water at the table to ease the thirstier folks (me). Our wait person gave helpful suggestions and efficient service. The rest of the staff had hustle. As normal with live music, be prepared to raise your voice and repeat yourself in conversations. He brought tap. When I followed up, he arrived with a single small Aqua Panna -- tap glasses still on the table. When I pointed out one bottle wasn't enough for our party, he dropped two more without pouring any of them. We now had twelve glasses of water crowding the table and not one filled -- except for the tap. That pattern held all night. Empty wine glasses, cocktail glasses, dirty plates -- nothing was ever proactively cleared. Everything required asking. Repeatedly. He also cleared across guests rather than walking around the table. Basic. But the most serious issue: at the start of dinner, he asked about allergies. One guest clearly stated a walnut and pecan allergy. He then brought out a dessert containing pecans.
