This place has a lot of good reviews, but mainly from non-Asians. Hmm. Gave it a try. Spring rolls = no meat except shrimp. I would expect to see the cha (Viet ham) or at least pork in it. Smaller than the typical. Pho is a little on the bland side, but plenty of meat was given for Pho Tai. Beef banh mi was tasty, but they really skimped on the meat and pickled veggies. Bread was crispy and soft on the inside. Adding the egg made it delish, but I never got the extra $1 charge at Viet restaurants for an egg. Pricey, isn't it? This place is close to home, but not the best. Service was good. I probably prefer going to V Bistro for my pho cravings though. I saw that they had Japanese food too (udon, sushi). Eh? Enjoyed having the Lemongrass Chili Chicken Vermicelli here. It did taste slightly different than other vermicelli I've had before. Some of the noodle were stuck together and the vermicelli was very thin and soft. I'm not sure if they were boiling it for too long, but I didn't mind the texture. The lemongrass chili chicken was pretty good too. The waiter and someone who looked like the owner would check in on us pretty frequently to make sure everything was okay. So overall, a nice restaurant! I would come back to try their pho. read more

I've been looking for a good go-to pho place in Plano/Frisco for a long time. I'm glad I finally found it with Pho Apple! Loved this place! Cozy hole in the wall with friendly staff and COVID friendly protocols. Food was DELICIOUS. There are a lot of pho places in town and most are good...decent...but nothing to write home to mom about. Pho Apple pho was AWESOME! Amazing flavor to the broth, great fresh ingredients, and awesome overall flavor. The portion sizes for every dish was excellent as well! I also got to enjoy my first ever Bún Bò Huê which was AMAZING! Beautiful amazing delicious spicyness. Not so much you can't taste anything. But enough to make you sweat, accentuate the delicious flavor of the broth, meat, and noodles, and leave your lips and tongue tingling for more. It was an addictive beef noodle soup. I legit could not stop eating and drinking until it was all gone. The last dish I tried was their beef stew. Initially skeptical but I found the stew to be equally delicious with an amazing mouthfeel when eaten with a bite of french bread. Very glad I tried their beef stew as well! Oh so so satisfying. I got the vermicelli pork in a to-go order. It definitely fits the bill, but overall, it's bland. The pork is a very thin slice and under seasoned. The bowl is 60% noodles, 20% chopped lettuce, 10% pork, and the rest is small bits of veggies. I expected more carrots, cucumber, etc. Instead there's a few leaves of cilantro and some chopped peanuts. It could use more color and flavor! There's just a few pieces of carrots in here. read more

Service is great, and it is conveniently located. Good place to stop for lunch and grab a quick bite. pho is nothing special but the portion is good and it's hot. If you like to 'doctor' your pho with duck sauce and chili sauce it's perfect. Plenty of meat, and it comes out quick. A little disappointed by the shrimp spring rolls, they are kinda tiny and the sauce it comes with is bland. Ok, so I came to this pho restaurant feeling kinda sick and I could've driven 20 minutes to another pho place that I know has "legit pho" but decided to drive 10 minutes to Pho Apple seeing the positive reviews. That being said, I ordered the Pho Tai and usually, I like my pho with a little bit of oil where the broth, sort of, coats my throat (perfect for when I'm feeling sick). Pho Apple's broth did nothing for me. It was just hot which helped my sore throat but that's about it. The depth of flavor wasn't really there in my opinion and the broth was too "clean." Without the depth of flavor, I had to compensate for it with Sriracha and hoisin sauce in my broth when usually I'm a purist when it comes to broth. I also did not appreciate that they used the stems of the cilantros which sadly made the pho have a surprising crunch that I did not enjoy. Needless to say, this pho did not hit the spot for me. We also ordered their shrimp spring rolls which 2 for $3.95 (I think) was not a bad price. However, the spring rolls came out and all it had in it was rice noodles, bean sprouts, cilantro, shrimp and lettuce. I've had better spring rolls priced at the same price with more content (pork slice) so this was a bit of a disappointment but still good because that peanut sauce... is everything. Their pho bowls are a little smaller too. They have a regular size and a large size. My boyfriend, who usually gets a regular size at other places, ended up having to get the large. So, I would say that this is not a restaurant for those who have big stomachs. Service was good though. Attentive, got the order right and fairly fast - all things that I look for in terms of service at a pho restaurant. Overall, I probably won't come here again. This is exactly how I like my pho broth. It's delicate, umami, and clean, not too muddied up. I loved how they packaged the to-go order. It was exceptionally neat and the thai basil leaves were already picked off of the stem. There was also no shortage of garnish, and you can bet I used every bit of the cilantro and green onion. The meat quality was average, which is not a complaint, but something that would normally make my review a 4.5-star one if that were possible. I did love the meatballs and they tasted homemade. They were very chewy and just had an excellent texture. The noodles were good and plentiful. They weren't the chewy kind I like, but they were still cooked well and I enjoyed them thoroughly. Pho Apple made one of my favorite bowls of pho dac biet in the area, and that's no lie. These guys really know what they're doing. read more

This place is prob one of the better pho places in plano area and its pretty cheap too. They give a good amount of meat and broth too for how much you pay for. The broth is that good salty taste thats not too salty but not watery either. Just be careful cause if your like me and put alot of veggies in ur broth, it can make it taste a bit watered down but all u gotta do is add a little salt if it bothers you. The food comes out quick and the servers are quick and nice. This is one of my go to pho places. I think its good because I am the type of pho eater that likes to eat pho without pouring a bunch of sauce into the broth. If the broth tastes salty and sweet on its own then I know its good pho. We love pho it's easy, basic Vietnamese soup. Our first time eating here and our last. The older gentleman who took our order was not friendly in anyway, not that we are expecting 5 star service, a smile and kind word or two would of been nice, nothing. Quite disappointed with their signature pho. There are 2 most important ingredients for a tasty pho. One is the soup; and 2nd one is the meat. Well their pho doesn't have both. This place is by far the worst Vietnamese food I've ever had. We ordered egg rolls, a small bowl of steak pho, and pork with egg rolls vermicelli. The egg rolls took 30 seconds to get to us after we ordered. It took longer for the server to walk to us than it took for them to "make". Not surprisingly, they were lukewarm. Egg rolls that are fresh are piping hot and take significantly longer than 30 seconds to get to your table. Taste wise, they were very strong in pepper. My wife's pho was okay. Nothing special. My vermicelli, however, was horrendous. Half of it was pure filler. The noodles were lukewarm, but the egg rolls and pork were cold. The texture of the pork was that of jerky and tasted like mushrooms. Customer service? Ha. That's a joke. Our server didn't come over once to check on us. When the table in front of us asked for a box and to order some food to go, he proceeded to slowly walk away and gestured for the younger male server to come over and take their order. When I first entered the restaurant I saw plastic apples stuck crudely to the small wall separating me from the dining area with clear packing tape. I thought to myself, "its okay, its an Asian restaurant, I know plenty of places with bad decor/bad service but amazing food." However, the slope just kept going downhill from there. My friend always gets com thit nuong (Steamed rice with charbroiled sliced pork), and this was the smallest/worst version of the dish he's ever received. He left hungry and unsatisfied. My pho was bland, small and not worth it. I never really care too much about the veggie plate brought out with pho because I usually have a lot to choose from and an ample amount of bean sprouts, but the plate I received here was slim pickings. We had a group that came here on a Sunday night. We were seated immediately and the place was pretty full. They had enough high chairs for our child heavy group. English is spoken well here and ordering was a breeze for the group. The decor could use a little updating, but otherwise, the atmosphere was fine. We got the usual pho tai and goi cuon. They were both excellent and in getting the large size, we were able to share with our daughter and still have enough leftover to satisfy. When we were done, they did not split the bill but it was no problem paying with two cards, we just had to figure out who got what. That and the decor is about all this place can do to improve. read more

I decided to give this place a try because it's close to where I live. It got decent reviews from yelpers so I figured why not. It was a Sunday night and I was feeling lazy so I opted for a to go order. I ordered the shrimp spring rolls and the beef (flank) pho. The spring rolls were pretty average. Nothing thrilling but just your traditional roll. The pho was ok but I most likely won't order it ever again. The meat came pre cooked. Every pho place I've ever gone to the meat is raw and it cooks when you toss it into the broth. The meat had a bit of fat on it and not the best flavor. The portion size was about half the amount of every other place I've been to. The noodle portion was barely one cup worth. When I opened the container I actually thought they forgot the noodles because it was such a small portion it was actually hidden. As for add ins, they skimp there too. I love jalapeños but they only gave me two small slices. I had asked for extra beef and told them I'd pay extra for it. Their version of extra beef is two small slices. So essentially if I hadn't ordered extra beef I would have only gotten three small strips of beef. Pretty pitiful. The broth flavor was the only decent thing about it. The restaurant was small but seemed decently clean. The staff was friendly and quick to get me my order. As for the food, I'm not a fan. read more

Finding the area having an abundance of Vietnamese food establishments to pick from, I am slowly working down the list... This spot was pleasant and clean, the staff was attentive and responded politely and promptly to my requests. I had to have my "usual" order to be able to compare this with the others I've tried so far, as well as to see how they stand up to my favorite location... The grilled chicken spring roll at first glance looked somewhat small, but it only backed off on the amount off shredded lettuce and modestly on the rice noodles...which it countered with more than usual amount of the grilled chicken. Then came the pho (no meat)...and there was more than enough rice noodles (typically I find when I order pho with no meat, you get no meat and nothing added to compensate for the lack of meat). My request for extra basil and chili oil was quickly fulfilled, thus no extended wait time causing the soup broth to tone down to a "warm" temperature. Sure I'll go ahead and write a review. I usually get the chicken pho (Pho Ga). Is it the best chicken pho I've ever had? Heo no, check out Pho Binh in Houston -Bellaire for that, but it's solid bowl. Clear broth and flavorful! Not going to lie, it's a little sad looking. The perfect pieces of chicken is a bit disconcerting, but I'll still eat it. Too bad you can't give half stars, it's a 3.5 at most, but I'll round up this time because it's always clean inside and the service is nice. Also, I love the goi cuon nem nuong (pork) so order that. They make it legit with the crispy piece of eggroll wrapper inside. Hoorray for that. This location is close by our house so it's a good choice if we want something fast and easy. I have eaten at a few Pho joints. Pho Bac has been my standard for some time. Mekong River on 6th St in Austin is good too. Pho Apple rivals Pho Bac so closely I really won't try to sell you on one over the other. Pho Apple is a little smaller and we've found the atmosphere a little more pleasant. The wait staff has been very friendly. I have become very boring ... I order Pho Tai almost exclusively. I have tried many other dishes, but since I only eat Pho a couple of time a month, if I'm lucky, I have boiled it down to pho tai every time. The Spring Rolls were good ... my companion really enjoyed her choices as well and love this place as much as I do. It is a little bit of heaven at Pho Apple.
