Someone once asked me what makes me smile. I thought to myself, frozen yogurt and good food always bring big smiles to my face. So, for my assignment, I chose a restaurant that feeds my soul as they say. Picking a small business as an assignment was so hard and such a challenge since there are so many favorites. There are dozens of places that sell Pho, however, Pho An has the best flavor and the noodles are on point so Pho An beats them all!
Pho Ann is a Vietnamese restaurant on 249 near Willowbrook mall. I used to go once a week, but prices have gone up since the pandemic, so I don't go as often. Portion sizes are less than before, and many people aren't happy with this change. I always get good service and this restaurant's pricing is still fair. I get it and I am ok with this change since this place never disappoints. This place is family-owned, simple, clean, and not very crowded. Pho Ann has three locations, one in 249, and one Pho An in Humble another I tried other foods there and they were not as good as the Pho. The Pho at Anne Pho soothes my soul and relieves my allergies, and colds, and warms me up in the cold winter months. All Phos here have great authentic flavor and not all just powder broth. I put this restaurant to the test when it comes to flavor by going a few times a week to see if maybe the flavor changes during the week. Remarkably so, it is always the same. They have mastered this recipe because to me, the Pho in this place is the most delicious. The Pho here is now my go-to, comfort food. I love the fact that this restaurant also sells small broth for about two dollars and large for about four dollars. Sometimes I just want the broth. When I mentioned this assignment to a great friend that joins me here weekly his response was, "No, don't review it on yelp! If you give a good review of our favorite place, then prices will go way up, and it will become overcrowded. Maybe he is right, I never thought of the effect my positivity could have.
Today because of my love for this Vietnamese soup, I now become more open to trying other Asian foods and drinks at other Vietnamese restaurants in my area. I recently tried Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea and I must say I love it! I have become curious and more appreciative of Asian Cuisine. I guess you can now call me a food critic because I now know who has the best Pho, Vietnamese coffee, and Vietnamese sandwiches. I know who has the best spring roll and Thai tea. If I have encouraged you in a way to go out a have some Pho, make sure you have it at the restaurant. Not sure why, but Pho is better at a restaurant than the home. read more
