Yesterday, we were disappointed with the Banh Mi. They were wrapped correctly and the Fish Sauce wasn't in the bag. My son had to ask for it. The sandwiches are usually delicious, but yesterday they gave me and my housekeeper heartburn. I still have it. I don't the staff was the same according to my son.. We had not visited this location in a while, but they have been here for a very long time. They would not have lasted this long if it wasn't for their great food and service. The lady that took care of our table made us feel like family and she told us they are finishin up a renovation. The place was very clean and we're excited to see it when they finish their renovation. She informed us they will have desserts soon! The fried rice, soups, and Thai tea drinks were all delicious. I absolutely love this place. Food is always fresh, trying everything on the menu. Pho is flavorful, broth tastes delicious and definitely made from scratch. Shrimp egg rolls were crunchy and paired well with the dipping sauce. Mango smoothie was refreshing, also tried their Vietnamese iced coffee- strong and tastes awesome. Banh Mi - I tried the grilled pork Banh Mi and it was really tasty, filling and packed with flavor. Fresh spring rolls were really good too. I highly recommend this place, a true gem. Super fresh and delicious food! The pork dumplings were very good, the pho was beautifully presented and delicious, the combination fried rice is huge and the shrimp and broccoli was as pretty as it was tasty. We were very happy dining there with the sweet staff and clean dining room. read more

This is a nice alternative if you get tired of burgers & tacos. We've been here several times & service has always been friendly. I've tried several of the vermicelli dishes with lemon grass beef, shrimp & chicken. Very tasty! I enjoy the freshness of each meal. Pho is bland, banh mi is 80% bread that appears to be from HEB across the street from a few days ago and lacking seasoning, bo luc lac has almost no beef, spring rolls are almost half the size they should be, etc. don't order takeout either. No utensils, no limes/jalapeños/bean sprouts for pho, they ignore requests for no this or extra that.. I know we're not in Bellaire but there's much better than can we had in this area read more

I really tried to like this place, I really did. The atmosphere is very relaxed and empty (atleast for my visit) no central ac I think, they had fans running around the restaurant. None of which bothers me btw. Where I draw the line is the food. It sucked; All of it. Skimped on everything except my cup of water. Broth was salty yet bland all at the same time. Noodles seemed like they hand counted, Meat was almost non existent. (I ordered the combination bowl?) I dressed it up as best as I could to mask it because I was hungry but definitely an absolute let down. Hopefully they are able to fix this. Pretty good Phô and I love the fact they have three sizes. As you know, Phô can be rather filling...like sushi, you're full for an hour then starving. HAHA. The service was very friendly and a nice clean restaurant. That said, I do think they skimp on the noodles and protein. I ordered the Phô with three meats but there was very little meat in the dish. This is to say, "very little" compared to the Phô restaurant within walking distance of Phô Zen. Also, they skimp on the Thai basil. If they would add more noodles, meat and basil, I'd give this place a thumbs up. But for the money, the other restaurant is a better deal and a tad bit better on the broth. My 2 cents. I finally made it to the 2nd location of Pho Zen and ordered something other than Pho. I'm no vietnamese food expert, but I took a chance to see if they can excel at something other than soup. So I went with the grilled pork and egg roll vermicelli to be exact. The dish comes in a bowl with grilled green onions, crushed peanuts and thinly sliced carrots on the side, all sitting on a bed of lettuce and diced cucumbers. It also comes with a small bowl of fish sauce with more thinly sliced carrots in it. The egg roll tasted very fresh with plenty of diced pork inside it. The best part for me was the chargrilled pork pieces, very tasty, tender and some fattiness to give it great flavor. Service was excellent at this location as well. They even gave me a to-go cup of tea when I was leaving without even asking me. It's like they read my mind! read more

I ordered a half order of the viet egg rolls $2.99 and a bowl of the rare eye pho. This is definitely not the best Vietnamese food I've ever had. The egg rolls were just ok and the pho's broth was rather bland to me. Also I didn't care too much for the meat. I was craving pho and this restaurant was rather hot when when I walked in and especially in the restroom. It did get a little better after I had been there a while though. I ordered vermicelli & there was this brown gooey sauce on top, which I've never seen before & was disgusting. The fish sauce was watery. This place is just OK. The food is mediocre but on the upside they have a very friendly staff! Just their food isn't amazing. I got their vermicelli with chicken and the chicken seemed more like pork just really chewy. I also tried their Thai tea with boba and their boba was really good but the Thai tea was super super sweet we all had to wait for the ice to melt and water it down. Overall If you you're in a pinch this place isn't that bad but just not my preference. read more

The place isn't super grand (also, the doors were kept open to keep a nice steady breeze through) and can be hard to spot if you're a first time visitor but the owner is so sweet and nice! I ordered a vermicelli bowl w/ pork & eggroll, and a milk tea boba. Both were real nice (though the boba balls were a bit soft, but real flavorful and still got a bit of chew). The owner gave us water without asking, and I noticed that after another customer left, the owner turned the heater towards me and my friends in case we were chilly. When getting the check, he even gave us a couple of tamarind hard candies and asked us to try it, and asked if we liked them. He's real nice, and the atmosphere was really relaxing and was just a nice spot to eat and chat with friends. read more

The food was horrible tasting. I ordered the Banh Mi Zen, since I love cold cut combination banh mis and it tasted horrible. I love eating pate, but every meat tasted rancid. The bread too was wrong. Tasted old and stale. I also, ordered the half order of fried egg rolls. The inside was under cooked. The only thing I got, that was reasonably good was the Vietnamese Ice Coffee. The inside had no a/c and the doors were all opened. I do not recommend this place for anybody. Drive somewhere else for better quality food. read more

Was on the way home from Sip and Stroll in Tomball and decided to stop and try a new place for Vietnamese. The service was excellent and the food was great! We did a combo platter and the pork was delicious! We tried their spring rolls and were pleasantly surprised, as well as their egg rolls. We will definitely be back! read more

For a little mom n pop shop in the middle of little Tomball and for me being the first to review, I'd have to say it wasn't half bad. It is run by a cute little lady and whom I believe our her children as her waiters. I think they just opened and so they are still working on their waiting skills but the owner reassured us with her enthusiasm that everything is made to order and very good. The menu is the typical vietnamese pho choices that you would find at any Vietnamese restaurant (Pho, rice dishes, vermicelli dishes, spring rolls etc.) The only dish they didn't have was Vietnamese sandwiches but we were told they would be offering them soon once they can get a supply of bread. Total plus once that happens. we ordered our typical rare beef pho, grilled shrimp vermicelli w/extra veggies and fish sauce entree, and shrimp spring rolls. My only dislike was that my shrimp were over cooked and dry. Other than that our experience was pleasant and the food was comparable to other pho restaurants. If your wanting to try Pho or wanting to try a new family owned place give Pho Tomball a try! read more

Best Vietnamese sandwich I have had in Houston... and in Tomball of all places. Soft french roll, generously stuffed with meat, carrot shreds and heavily sauced. Those are the things I look for, and that's what they do. Also about 1.5 times the size of other places, can't complain about that either. Other food items were decent, a little lighter in flavor compared to other Vietnamese restaurants, but all tasted very fresh. Service was friendly and fast.
